5 In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate Following the insulting and shameful act of burning Quran in Bagram airbase that injured the religious sentiments of the Islamic world and particularly of the Afghan Muslim nation, two delegations comprising of representatives from government, the National Council of Ulemma and the National Assembly were assigned and dispatched to investigate the circumstances and causes that have led to the inhumane incident. The delegations, while deeply touched by the religious sentiments shown by the Afghan Muslim and Mujahid nation, inform our citizens of the following: 1. In view of the particular security situation in the country, we call on all our Muslim citizens of Afghanistan to exercise self-restraint and extra vigilance in dealing with the issue and avoid resorting to protests and demonstrations that may provide ground for the enemy to take advantage of the situation. 2. After the shameful incident by the US soldiers stationed in Bagram, senior NATO and American officials expressed their deep apologies to the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and assured that such incidents will not happen again. 3. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nationÂ’s demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible. 4. The assigned delegations demand from the government of Afghanistan to take over from the Americans the authority of the Bagram prison so no such incidents can recur and calls on the US government to fully and comprehensively cooperate to this end. 5. The delegations also want from the Afghan government to formally praise those brave Afghan army soldiers and all others who showed feelings against the disrespectful act by preventing more religious books and Quran copies from burning, so that the pure Muslim sentiments of our honored Mujahid nation can remain alive.

So, if I wanted to become the face of those who would be affected by a huge increase in the tax on dividends, how would I go about it?

Serious question.  I'm a widow with kids and that tax is going to kill us just as Social Security breathes its last.

57 More fun and games:

TEHRAN (FNA) -- A top Iranian military commander said the US helplessness in the confrontation against Islam is the real cause underlying the burning of the Muslims' Holy [sic] Book by American soldiers in Afghanistan, and stressed that nothing but burning the White House and hanging the US commanders responsible for this cowardly action can relieve the Muslims' pain.

"The US has committed such an ugly action and burnt Quran because of the heavy slap it has been given by Islam," Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi said on Saturday.

He stressed Muslims' sensitivity to the crimes underway in Afghanistan by the US forces, and said Muslims do not accept the US apology, because it makes numerous military mistakes and then just asks for the Afghans' apology, and this is not acceptable.

"Nothing but burning the White House can relieve the wound of us, the Muslims, caused by the Burning of Quran in the US," he underscored.

"Their apology can be accepted only by hanging their commanders; hanging their commanders means an apology," he reiterated.

68 With all the money having been looted from the Underground Storage Tank fund in Connecticut, will the greenies begin to realize that it is they who have been robbed? I doubt that. Their only recourse will be to tax more.

Every act of taxation is becoming nothing more than a racket. If we could apply the RICO act to governments, it would be sweet justice.

Union dues are just another tax, as they are enforced by your government if you don't live in a right-to-work state. An that is just another tax that is being looted or misappropriated to serve the interests of the ones who handle that money.

Our government never has been one of compromise, unless, by compromise, we mean "I'll give you what you want if you can find some clever way to steal more money from those poor fucker's and give it to me and my backers." (Who are otherwise know as my constituency, if they ask, but we know that's not really who my "constituency" are).

Now that the money has run out, they obviously can find no other way to come to mutual agreement on any topic, and remain as divided as they ever were, but no longer pacified by the sugar teat that fed so many a politician's ambitions.

They are only left to vilify one another openly, which is the same as they did in private before the money was depleted. They lie and make false claims and arguments with their divisive rhetoric, with the expectation that they will be able to milk the last drops from the only cows left standing

Then they will attach those cows to plows soon enough, and watch them work throughout the day, even after their breasts have dried up from the indulgences of society. And the cows will plow until they die, I suppose. And then we will all die.

I think I'm going to throw up now.

Dental Surgeon recommendations.  The external 7,000 Rad dose will kill blood vessels in the jaw making the viability of these teeth questionable.  If any work, or God forbid removal of them, were to be required subsequent to the treatment her jaw would not heal resulting in major difficulties.

I'm guessing the latter will not have beer... but I'm not even sure if the Thai place will. So that's the big decision I'm facing. I'm leaning Native American and sobriety.

100 Observation about Michigan primary. We voted just now, about 6:30pm. Polls close in 1.5 hours. We were in the 200's of primary voters. 250 at our place. Mostly biased towards R's, donks numbering about 25 (based upon what I could surmise from ballot numbering, and a question on overall turnout). The place was empty. This was annoying. I guess we don't really care who the nominee will be. Which suggests that the mission of getting SCOAMF out really doesn't matter to most? Our ballets had spots for write-ins. Had one candidate been an obvious shoe-in, I would have written Sweet Meteor of Death, mostly as a protest. But the notional candidate needed my support tonight, so I stuffed my desire to protest back into its hidey hole, and voted for the person I thought most likely able to unseat SCOAMF. All the others were on the ballet. Bachmann, Cain, Perry ... And Crazy uncle Nor Luap. The 100' rule was in force. Did I mention it was empty? So as the skies over southeast Michigan darkened, with a last glimmer of sunlight fading, my wife and I cast our ballets for Mitt. There's some sort of metaphor going on there. Not sure what though. All this said, we believe that Mitt has been so bloodied and damaged by the attacks of others that he might not be as viable as we need him to be. That and the guy appears gaffetastic outside of the debate arena. If he's not viable, my wife pointed out that we need to think out of the box to get a candidate to face SCOAMF. We need to consider this as a possibility. Santorum and Gingrich appear to be ready to do anything to win. Including destroying their party's chances of winning in November. Crazy uncle Nor Luap just brings teh Crazee. Only complete loons will go for him. But come convention time, if Mitt hasn't finished selling it, we need someone that everyone can get behind. Some hate Palin, some love her. I think she'd be good on a ticket. McCain was the problem with that ticket in 2008. Christie could be good. Plain/straight talking. Tough. We need that. Alan West. Rubio. We have enough quality people we can bring to the tent. All is not lost. But our mechanism of picking a candidate? Yeah, thats gotta change. Its badly ... badly broken.

"Visability = Credibility" .....This was one of the little nuggets from the movie 'Greatest Movie Ever Sold' by Morgan Spurlock.

......

Yeah. I know. Spurlock is kind of a liberal douche. .....But I was bored last night and watched that movie, to see if it was what I thought it was. .....And it surprised me in some ways.

......

I doubt that Spurlock intended to reveal how Obama was 'sold' to the American public.....but if you think of Obama as a 'product' while watching that movie, which is about how marketing/product placement sells anything....then you will see exactly how it was done. .....As well as how they will attempt to do it again.

......

The more 'visable' something is.....the more people will feel good about 'buying it'.

Sorry, but Barky wasn't sold to America.  Barky was a vote for Suicide By Indonesian and everyone knew it at the time.  Everyone knew.  To paraphrase one immortal loser, "America was tired of winning", driven crazy by the credit crisis, and decided to end it all with the ultimate act of penance for the insane white-guilt that so many had carried around - illusory as it was and essentially detached from any reality.  That was 2008.  That was how that vote went.  That was where McShame played the part of America's Dr. Kervorkian with his babbling suicide machine, "You don't have to worry about a Barack Obama as President ..."

Ditch the Loyalists somehow, jettison Cali before plate-tectonics does, put a wall up on our southern border, and you have Cook County, IL, and two rainy areas of the two northwestern states. Eliminate affirmative action after 50+ years, and amend our Constitution to guarantee the right to work without paying an employment tax to the Socialists, and they effin' wither and die. They'll be making "Milk" (with the same Commie star: look it up) for the Independent Coffee Shops of Portland International Film Festival audience.

168 170 Is getting old and feeble really worth all that self-deprivation? -- I think the trick is learning to enjoy the things that are good for you so that it isn't about self-deprivation as much as it is about embracing feeling well. Not that I have that mastered, mind you. I can do the eating right part b/c I like pretty much every kind of food, but the exercise part is blech. I wish I had developed an interest in some sort of sport as a young adult. It's hard to do now.

171 On his show tonight, Mark Levin is asking Romney supporters to call in to his show and explain why they are supporting him.  So far, very few are able to in any kind of coherent way.  Best explanation so far "he looks presidential".  Not one of them supports Romney for anything to do with conservatism.

Pathetic.  Oh, and almost every one calling in has a northeastern accent.

It was a great movie.  That Matthew Lilard guy is also pretty good, but he's gotten bogged down in some jerky stuff.  He was good in Hackers, though, which is a guilty-pleasure classic for me.  So stupid ... but you figure, they didn't know better.  They tried hard and did okay.

I'm listening to levin while I'm cooking.  It's funny and sad at the same time.

I'm waiting for Levin to point out that they are giving the same reasons that people gave for why they are a republican or conservative and voted for obama.  You know that's what is coming.

177 139 -- No, not much politics in "2012," but they did sorta want everyone to hold hands and sing Kumbaya. The thing about FX movies is they sometimes forget to create 3D characters, as was the case here. Everyone was a walking cliche.

The romney talking points apparently went out and they are all repeating it like it's something from the obama campaign.  I think what's going on is that the dems are upset, the deal was romney would be the mcshame like nominee and that was that.  Problem is maybe it will be a brokered convention and if  you think the republican elite are worried about that, the obama campaign is waaay more worried.   The other problem is that Santorum appeals to some dems.  That bothers the republican elite and the dems.   It's something they can't seem to control.

181 Kaula Lumpur, February 28:

Muslims-majority Malaysia on Tuesday, February 28, banned a concert by an American singer for drawing a tattoo on her body with the Arabic word for Allah.

"Our religion does not even permit the name of Allah to be brought into the bathroom, let alone be used as a tattoo," Mashitah Ibrahim, a deputy minister in the prime minister's department, told the New Straits Times.

"While Americans and non-Muslims view tattoos as an art form, the name of Allah should never be used that way.”

American singer Erykah Badu was scheduled to play a concert in Malaysia on Wednesday, February 29.

I know I'm staying home if Santorum is the nominee.  I don't want this country turned into a sectarian Iraq.  This primary hasn't been about issues at all, just religious tribalism.  It's clearer than ever after Santorum's debate performance and his Sunday show interviews.
