Public Opinion Of US Supreme Court Deteriorates Following Obamacare Decision

From Rasmussen: "A week ago, 36% said the court was doing a good or an excellent job. ThatÂ’s down to 33% today. However, the big change is a rise in negative perceptions. Today, 28% say the Supreme Court is doing a poor job. ThatÂ’s up 11 points over the past week."

17 So...Obamacare has you buy health insurance or pay a fine. What an awful, shitty idea. Why would we ever elect a President that thinks this is a good idea? Oh, wait. Look who our fucking nominee is. Is Romneycare a tax, too? Guess so. And if some idiot like me can make that comparison, guess what the Dems are gonna run with? Yep. Romneycare mandate is a tax, too. The main reason I was comfortable with Romney is because I thought if he ever tried Romneycare on a national lever, SCOTUS would knock it down. I was wrong. Now I don't give a shit about Romney.

19 Hah, I saw that on NetFlix.

It was considered a classic at the time. Epic in scope but ruined by shitty dialogue and inability to get the special effects right.

What seems most alien to me, living here in the 2010s, is that it was private industry that ponied up the funds, materiel, and headcount to make the exodus / ark possible. (Although the UN is depicted as the rabble of idiots it is.) Nowadays we'd not be able to do anything without a full environmental impact and diversity investigation.

24 What has changed since Thursday morning? There was no new law written, just a hold for the same POS that was there before.

I think we were so sure it was going to get tossed that we didn't brace ourselves for what came

That said, it may not matter since the global economy as we know it is on a death dive anyway

From Band of Brothers:

Speirs: We're all scared. You hid in that ditch because you think there's still hope. But Blithe, the only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. And the sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function. Without mercy. Without compassion. Without remorse. All war depends upon it.

37 Jordan's king urges Islamists to contest election Published: 07.01.12, 22:17 / Israel News Jordan's king is urging his country's Islamist opposition to take part in upcoming elections, despite their dissatisfaction with reforms. King Abdullah II made the appeal in a rare interview on Jordan TV on Sunday. It appeared to be part of his attempt to engage with Islamists, who make up the main opposition in Jordan. Islamists have made gains all over the region after Arab Spring uprisings and show increasing strength in Jordan. (AP) Yeah inviting the lion to sleep with the lamb always works out so well. 43 Someone commented here on Saturday that Obama never seemed like anything BUT an intentional single termer , when considering the vacations, cheap shots and vitriol toward opponents, golfing , spending like someone who had "found a credit card" and was trying to spend it before it got cut off etc. etc. I think I have to agree.

It's becoming very hard to look at McCain's "campaign" , TARP, the timing of the housing crisis , the midnight Obamacare vote, Robert's wacko ruling etc. without looking behind the scenes for an old guy in a holographic global map room petting a white cat.

Romney's a business guy, not an American idealist. He will be looking for what he thinks is the "best deal" not saving the Republic. I'll vote for him so I can tell my grandkids that I did....while we nosh on leftover squirrel bones in the back of the cave.

Haven't you heard? Yelling at the TV is the way to change the world

Posted by: kbdabear at July 01, 2012 01:41 PM (Y+DPZ)

59 I am going to expand on #40 a bit.

In 656, the amir 'Uthman went and got himself killed. One fellow by name of 'Ali declared that 'Ali was now the chosen guide of God ("al-Mahdi", "al-Mansur" etc etc). 'Uthman's cousin in Syria, Mu'awiya, called bullshit on that. 'Ali and Mu'awiya met in battle at Siffin - in Syria someplace - and after some skirmishes a truce was called.

That was 'Ali's mistake.

Mu'awiya hadn't by this point claimed to be anything more or less than "your guy in Syria". 'Ali on the other hand claimed that he had a mandate from God Himself. So when the matter went into arbitration - well, why should God require a mediator?

So 'Ali got royally fucked on the deal and, in a couple years, got dead.

This fellow Abdullah in Jordan is dead too. The only thing he has left to negotiate is his severance package, whether the Ikhwan hands him a bundle of money or his head

91 One benefit of not following the NBA is that I don't lose IQ points listening to Marv Albert

93 I want shock collars attached to the MNF guys and the moment they start talking too much or go off about something that is not happening in the game they're supposed to be watching they receive a shock. And it increases in voltage at each subsequent shock.

Would definitely not make myself the sole arbiter of player penalties.  Should at least have a panel of people involved possibly including some former players and league officials.

96 Joffen didn't the moron medical comittee recommend you lower your dosage of bummer threads.

Meanwhile the cheddar porn has me regretting not shopping more this aft.

Perhaps some of the smoked provolone leftover from last years Wisc. trip may be extracted from the freezer.

Which sportscasters make you wish there was an interactive feature to electrocute them? Chris Berman. Especially when he's covering golf (US Open). He. Will. Not. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

99 I wish there was a way to turn down the "color" guys and still have the game sounds.

It's like their overactive teenage girls; THEY NEVER SHUT UP.

Don't they understand they have guys in the audience.

Timeouts, and other interruptions fine but don't go yakkking so much that you miss the FUCKING PLAY on the field.

WTF do they think they're there for?

103 The Golf Channels Euro PGA tour coverage has a ole fella named Renton Laidlaw and he is awsome announcer.

Posted by: stillers at July 01, 2012 05:09 PM (gVUg0)

104 eman, that only works sometimes. Plus radio reception here sucks and I'm too lazy to set up a stream over the computer.

I just want to rant about something besides Roberts, the catholic church, the protestant church, jesus, Obama, leftists, republicans.

105 even the golf guys are becoming infected.

I remember when a golf announcer spoke so softly you could barely hear him and there were big gaps between comments coinciding with the player taking his shot.

Now they sit in booths 5 miles from the hole and yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak etc.

SHUT UPPPPPPP

so maybe this is the dec 21, 2012 day for us.  Of course we would see the objects coming at us. So it would be to late to build anything that would save a few people.  Course dec 21 could be the day that GOD sorts it out for us.

110 It was considered a classic at the time. Epic in scope but ruined by shitty dialogue and inability to get the special effects right.
