48 Third party to split the vote = the Governor Deval Patrick reelection strategy.

Of course he also managed to keep himself off camera, and allowed the two other candidates to destroy each other for several months, such that he became popular enough in comparison to the other two candidates to win. “When Mitt Romney says, ‘Planned Parenthood, we’re going to get rid of that,’” the ad says, “Romney is saying he’ll deny women the birth control and cancer screenings they depend on.”

That statement can be misleading. Mr. Romney was answering a question about what federal funding he would target for elimination or reductions if he is elected. His campaign has said he wants to end federal funding of Planned Parenthood, not the organization itself.

This is amazing in that Planned Parenthood is admitting something that they claimed not to be true until now ... that "Planned Parenthood" is synonymous with "abortion"

Posted by: Islamic Rage Boy at May 30, 2012 07:53 AM (e8kgV)

95 Maybe not all government mandates are bad.

Yes, all Government Mandates are bad.  The "problem" in the Internet market is the lack of competition.  And that lack of competition is created by Government.

You can only have one Cable company in a given delivery region, for example.  I'm pretty sure the same is true for Fiber service (I know that ATandT and Verizon don't compete for areas, I'm not sure that they can't).  Launching satellites is expensive.

If you got rid of that, and, indeed, moved the other way by encouraging competition in some way, you'd find the issue "fixed" fairly quickly.

The other issue, though, is that most people are satisfied with the status quo.  It isn't necessary for most people to have high-speed internet, but most people (who have internet service at all) have it anyway.

We're not competing with other countries to see who has the "best" internet service- or, at least, we shouldn't be.

97 >>It's the silly season. No real progress on the races until mid-August. Seems like I was reading that the Texas Senate primary was so important (to oust Dewhurst, the Establishment guy), but then I read from some of the same true conservatives that the Utah Senate race is not the Hill to Die on and we should plan on entombing Hatch in his Senate office. So I are confused.

103 So I'm reading the transcript of the "Polish death camps" speech to see exactly what Obumbler said this time, and come across this [quoted]:

This is the highest civilian honor this country can bestow, which is ironic, because nobody sets out to win it.  No one ever picks up a guitar, or fights a disease, or starts a movement, thinking, “You know what, if I keep this up, in 2012, I could get a medal in the White House from a guy named Barack Obama.”  (Laughter.)  That wasnÂ’t in the plan.

But thatÂ’s exactly what makes this award so special.

Obama began his administration breaking the US missile defense treaty with Poland.

Tuesday, May 29, Obama foolishly smears the Polish nation for having been attacked and occupied by NAZI German Military and SS, thence hosting the German atrocities of wartime ghettos and death camps.

Meanwhile, Poland holds off against the invading Monsanto genetically altered warfare of crops and markets. "Poland beekeepers kick Monsanto out of the hive, successfully ban bee-killing GM corn," by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer, Natural News, Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

172 I'm becoming quietly optimistic about November. I think there's a quiet preference cascade going on. On Facebook most of my liberal acquaintances have stopped posting Obama-fan links, and aren't attacking Romney, either. It's like liberals are pretending politics doesn't exist because it's too painful to think about.

Meanwhile if you read news stories and columns, even on lefty outfits like Washington Post or Time, the comments trend heavily anti-Obama. As the stench of desperation gets stronger, the mocking laughter gets louder.

Finally, even the lefty reporters are starting to shift away from their full-on Obama fellating. Almost as if they can tell he's in a nosedive and want to salvage a little of their credibility before the smash.

I recall reading in William Shirer's book about the Third Reich, how Hitler's regime was like a weird waking nightmare for a lot of Germans. Everything was uncertain. Nothing was stable or reliable. According to Shirer, the arrival of tanks with a red or white star on the side caused a tremendous feeling of relief among a lot of Germans. I think a lot of Americans look at Mitt Romney and feel the same way, even liberals.

Kids are different today, I hear ev'ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill, there's a little yellow pill<<< Valium
She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day

And if you take more of those
you will get an overdose
No more running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
They just helped you on your way
through your busy dying day

This is NOT a political group, but instead, a group that demands Elizabeth Warren and others like her understand OUR history belongs to us and no one has the right to try to rewrite it or make up fictitious stories so they can fit in it or take advantage of it. Only those who meet the requirements under Cherokee law should claim to be Cherokee.  We hope to help educate the public on what is and is not true about our history and also why the false claims like Elizabeth Warren is making are harmful to the Cherokee people.

199 What's the "running around and getting lots of stuff done" drug?

Posted by: ParanoidGirlInSeattle at May 30, 2012 12:20 PM (RZ8pf)

That would be Bennie's (benzodrene) Uppers or Meth amphetamine.

Most uppers make you too scattered so you're BUSY but can't accomplish anything as your all hyped up.

Caffeine's good. Stick to that.

Love the linkage.  Rule 5.2 is key:

"DonÂ’t pretend to know what you donÂ’t know. Being a wine snob does not mean being a blow-hard poser. PS to all blow-hard posersÂ…youÂ’re obvious. I know you think you are not, but you are."

When in grad school I worked in a wine shop.  Boss taught me a lot, but he taught me that when faced with a pretend wine-snob, make sure you elevate your own snobbishness.  Something like, "Well, that's a very amusing vintage, but certainly not worth drinking."

The use of the eye-roll is key.

They'll leave offended, and come back the next week to buy three times more wine than normal, just so they can raise their game and keep up.

The week after that they'll realize it's pointless, there is too much to know, and then they'll begin to seek your opinion.  That's when you have a locked-in customer for life.

209 But the biggest problem for the president’s agenda isn’t the usual partisan gridlock — it’s an unexpected surge in cooperation on a series of less-than-sexy bills, such as a Food and Drug Administration authorization package and postal reform. Rather than taking their cues from the White House, Senators in both parties have been pushing other priorities to the top of Reid’s agenda — whether it be a farm bill, garden-variety appropriations or renewing the flood insurance program.

210 I adore the 1930s and 40s music.  They way people dressed up for supper clubs, drank champagne and danced all night.  Fabulous.  My father loved to dance and loved that music.  Fond memories of standing on his shoes dancing to Glenn Miller.

I miss my Goldies something awful.  At eight o'clock every night they would stand up and stare at me.  Time for bed.  If I didn't make a move for the bedroom they would huff and puff. Yup, I'm a softie like that around dogs.

224 File under ... Did Elizabeth Warren have “crib notes” for the Bar Exam ?

“I was the first nursing mother to take a bar exam in the state of New Jersey,” Warren told an audience at the Chicago Humanities Festival in 2011, in a video posted on the CHF website. When asked how Warren knows that, her campaign said: “Elizabeth was making a point about the very serious challenges she faced as a working mom — from taking an all-day bar exam when she was still breast-feeding, to finding work as a lawyer that would accommodate a mom with two small children.”

243 Good lord.

Vulture reports that English actor Alan Rickman, who portrayed mischievous Hogwarts professor Severus Snape in all eight Harry Potter films, has been cast to play the Gipper in an upcoming film by Lee Daniels, The Butler, which will show the White House through the eyes of Euguene Allen. Allen was an African-American man who served at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for eight different presidents beginning in 1952 to his retirement in 1986. Allen passed away in 2010. Further casting in the film may make some conservatives cringe as Vulture adds that liberal activist Jane Fonda has been cast to play Nancy Reagan.
