Study: Republicans More Informed than Democrats
In pretty much all areas.
In a scientific survey of 1,168 adults conducted during September and October of last year, respondents were asked not only multiple-choice questions, but also queries using maps, photographs and symbols. Among other subjects, participants identified international leaders, cabinet members, Supreme Court justices, nations on a world map, the current unemployment and poverty rates and war casualty totals.
In a 2010 Pew survey, Republicans outperformed Democrats on 10 of 12 questions, with one tie and Democrats outperforming Republicans on just 1 of the 12. In the latest survey, however, Republicans outperformed Democrats on every single one of 19 questions.
So maybe the Democrats should try being less 'reality'-based and watch more 'Faux News'.
Does Physical Strength Influence Your Political Views?
Well according to this study it does if you're a man.
Dr Petersen and Dr Sznycer were investigating the idea that a person's political opinions might be aligned with his physical characteristics. The opinion in question was whether resources should be redistributed from the rich to the poor. The physical characteristic was strength.
.Dr. Petersen and Dr Sznycer found that, regardless of country of origin or apparent ideology, strong men argued for their self interest: the poor for redistribution, the rich against it. No surprises there. Weaklings, however, were far less inclined to make the case that self-interest suggested they would. Among women, by contrast, strength had no correlation with opinion. Rich women wanted to stay rich; poor women to become so.
Strength could be a proxy for testosterone levels or maybe this is just picking up a blue collar/white collar difference.
And Conservatives Are More Charitable Too Right?
Maybe not. A review of the 2006 study that claimed this found that they used a non-standard way to determine whether someone was liberal or conservative.
In 2006, Arthur Brooks made headlines with a provocative finding from his book Who Really Cares: despite stereotypes of liberals caring more about the poor, conservatives were purported to be more generous when it comes to giving to charities. These results stirred the political pot by taking "bleeding heart liberals" to task for their stinginess when it comes to their own money. . . . we demonstrate that these results are not robust, and appear to be driven by a non-traditional question wording for identifying liberals and conservatives. After correcting for this problem, there is no statistical difference between conservative and liberal giving, conditional on observable characteristics. Further, when we use partisanship rather than ideology to measure liberalism, there is no statistical difference in giving, regardless of whether we adjust for observable characteristics.
Rapers Being Rapey: French Reporter Sexually Assaulted in Cairo
Egypt is no place for women these days:
PARIS (AP) - A correspondent for France 24 TV was ''savagely attacked'' near Cairo's Tahrir Square after being seized by a crowd, the network said Saturday. It was the latest case of violence against women at the epicenter of Egypt's restive protests.
The news channel said in a statement that Sonia Dridi was attacked around 10:30 p.m. Friday after a live broadcast on a protest at the square and was later rescued by a colleague and other witnesses. France 24 did not give further details about the attack, but it said its employees were safe and sound, though ''extremely shocked,'' and that it will file suit against unspecified assailants.
I still like Apple products but have never drunk the the kool-aid. If a better product comes out, I'm there.
I have fond memories of watching Benny Hill late night in the 80s. Since it ran on a UHF station that used it mostly to fill the hours after midnight, they were never scrupulous about censoring it (or much else). So occasionally you got to see real live boobies on TV. Good times, good times.
Sadly the show came to end mostly because it was considered a little too sexist for more sensitive times. However by today's standards it almost seems quaint.
At one point The Benny Hill Show aired in 140 countries. According to a documentary called Living Famously, John Howard Davies, the former head of entertainment at Thames Television, cancelled the show in 1989 because "...the audiences were going down, the programme was costing a vast amount of money, and (Hill) was looking a little tired." However, the story I've heard on other retro blogs is that the downfall of the show was due to UK viewers getting increasingly upset by the T-and-A jokes, which seems a bit odd given that Benny's theme was hardly anything new and scandalous. Either way, the cancelation seemed pretty low brow to me considering that it happened right after Benny attended a successful Cannes television festival and thought he was getting a new series from Thames.
You know a lot of life could use a matching Yakety Sax theme.

And this is so delicious it needs to be reposted
Mitt Romney continues to out-poll every winning presidential challenger since 1968.
The latest Gallup daily tracking poll of likely voters has Mr. Romney leading Barack Obama by seven points, 52% to 45%. Mr. RomneyÂ’s total is greater than Richard NixonÂ’s 44% at this point in the race in 1968, Jimmy CarterÂ’s 49% in 1976, Ronald ReaganÂ’s hard to believe 39% in 1980 (Carter was ahead with 45%), George H. W. BushÂ’s 50% in 1988, and Bill ClintonÂ’s 40% in 1992. In 2000 and 2008 George W. Bush and Barack Obama both tracked at a within-error 51%.
The Gallup numbers have come under criticism from Obama supporters for their supposed inaccuracy, but the oldest established polling organization has done well in predicting the last three elections. In 2000, the final Gallup likely voter poll showed a neck and neck race, 47/45, which turned out to be a 50/50 outcome. In 2004 Gallup had the Bush/Kerry race at 49/47 and the result was 50/48. And in 2008 Gallup's final likely voter poll had Mr. Obama at 53% which was right on the money. Whether Mr. Romney's tracking numbers will hold over the next few weeks remains to be seen but right now he is on a better trajectory than any presidential challenger in the last 40+ years.
Maybe the Justice Department wioll want to investigate.

Strength is something that is easy to fix. Getting stronger requires a certain amount of dedication, some intestinal fortitude and honesty about the effort one puts in. Weak men have to work at staying weak, and that mentality will carry over to the rest of their lives.

This is my take. First, they're too skinny. And they always dress in various shades of black and gray, and wear scarves tied around their necks in odd ways. They sometimes wear glasses when they have no real need for them. They always have an electronic device in their hands. Sometimes they sport berets. They lack gender distinctiveness and rarely appear happy.

I just learned a story about my great uncle. He crossed the Rhine and fought his way across Germany.
In one of the little towns, the saw German soldiers running into a house to hide in the basement. The Americans stood at the foot of the stairs and shouted at them to come out, and they were fired on. So my great-uncle tossed in all his grenades and emptied several clips from his BAR into the basement.
When the GIs went down to do bomb-damage assessment, they found three dead German soldiers... and about forty dead women and children, including babies.
According to my mother, my great-uncle had nightmares about that the rest of his life. He was never able to forgive himself and died a massive alcoholic in the 1970s.
That's a tough one. You can't tell someone to not feel guilty, but at the same time, it was entirely the fault of the German soldiers. It just goes to show you that temperament is the wild card. Some of us would be able to carry on with our lives, knowing we weren't truly at fault here, while others would be as destroyed as my great-uncle.
I'd be destroyed. I'm still haunted by burning up ants with a magnifying glass when I was a child.

Had a long phone conversation with an extremely lib friend today (who lives out of state). For a guy who's an actual genius, he's astonishingly lacking in facts. I was astonished, because I'd heard all his and he hadn't heard any of mine. See, they hear anything outside their bubble and they "lalala" until it goes away.
We listen to their views the better to decimate the argument.

Nonprofit world knows perfectly well that the hippy-dippier the prospective donor, the less likely you are to get a gift. That's one of the reasons you see so many efforts to cause an "impulse" gift, and it just burns me up.

If you are a conservative you know all of the left's arguments, as they would like to make them, if you consume any of the infotainment that makes up pop culture.
If you are a liberal you only know that most absurd caricature unless you go looking for conservative views, and your leftwing friends will attack you if you do so.
So as a conservative I get to think about how conservative and liberal thought address various issues, and see which ideology better identifies and addresses issues. As a liberal though, I only have liberal thought to guide me. And liberals address failures of liberal thought by ignoring them.
For example, try and ask your average liberal if there was widespread Soviet espionage in the US in the 40s. No recollection? How about the failure of the economy prior to Reaganomics? Not ringing a bell?

This should be a damning argument. The leftist argument is "cause Republicans that's why!"
Obama and his party controlled 100% of the government for 2 years, and 5/6s of it now.
And the argument that the initials economic problems showed up prior to Obama is flawed anyway. Obama and his party took congress in 2006 and had their way on domestic policy. Just shy of 2 years later the Fannie Mae inspired collapse occurred.
These last 6 years have been pure Obamanomics.

Vice-Chairman of the Iranian ParliamentÂ’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Ebrahimi told FNA that during the meeting, Agosti had told the Iranian officials that President Barack Obama recognizes IranÂ’s right of access and use of the nuclear technology.

That's pretty much the precis of Jonah Goldberg's The Tyranny of Cliches. Those on the Left claim to have no ideology whatsoever. They will tell you that they are just 'realist' or 'pragmatic' or some other magical formula that makes them unlike the ideological, hide-bound Right.
Even worse is the fact that they can rarely cite the original Lefties that came up with the Leftist dogma trotted out by said Lefties as matters of fact.

My twenty-something hipster cousin is divorcing her husband, a mechanical engineer with a good job in his field, and has moved in with her hipster boyfriend (complete with douchey mustache and random piercings) who has two art degrees and works at a sporting goods store. She thinks she's really smart, too.

Just an interesting story on the political winds that I believe are changing. I's a female and I read beauty/fashion mags quite a bit (and I've also forgotten more about football than most men know). Although we have all been 'blessed' with the political leanings of Vogue editor Anna Wintour (and I do not read Vogue - it's just glossy advertising masquarading as a magazine), quite a few of those periodicals just stick with fashion and beauty and don't make politicizing a policy.
But one of those magazines that lurhves them some liberal thought alongside the latest lipstick color is MarieClaire. They fawn over Michelle and promote all them there womyn's issues and often print interviews with liberal icons. When I looked at the Spetember issue, I saw that they were interviewing the now female chairperson (Orit Gadiesh) of consulting firm Bain & Company. Here we go - I went to that interview immediately to see the Romney hatchett job that MarieClaire was no doubt salivating over. So I was not surprised to see this question, but I was floored at this response and the fact that MarieClaire printed it in any form.
MC: In the early '90s, Bain was on the verge of bankruptcy after several partners cashed out. Mitt Romney was brought in to turn things around. You reported to him. What kind of boss was he?
OG: He was smart, thoughtful; he actually cared about the people he worked with. I don't know how people describe him now, but he was way beyond Mr. PowerPoint. He was negotiating with the banks, and what he did was extraordinary. He did turn the company around.
Yowsa. That's gonna leave a mark.

First, have the common courtesy to address my post by content not by number. It is the height of passive aggressive discourtesy to do otherwise.
Second, I own neither phone, so why don't you shut the fuck up with accusations that others are unpatriotic.
Third, you do comprehend the utter irony of attacking the patriotism of conservatives who are making fun of a company that is renowned for drinking liberal kool-aid, yes?
Fourth, I am entirely certain that Apple thoroughly hates my guts, what with being a female conservative.
But other than that, I bow to your well reasoned and closely argued position.

Pacific Southwest Airlines.
Wasn't that the regional airline where a disgruntled ex-employee got on a flight, shot his former boss and the pilots, and then put the plane into a dive somewhere over California back in the 1980s. The airplane hit the ground at over 700 miles an hour and basically disintegrated. How they pieced together the crime was fascinating. There's a show on youtube about it. Yeah, it was PSA flight 1771. I'd link but I'm too lazy to use tinyurl right now.

Once I got outside of Portland, I saw zero Obama signs, and a fair number of Romney signs.

Well, my idea about that is: liberals need signaling devices to be part of the group, such as bumper stickers, lots of lawn signs and ostentatious announcements of good intentions. Nothing is being sold except peer pressure...or is that being bought? Whatever.

Your remarks, in my considered opinion, weren't helping.
As to whether I am crusading against strife? Nope. But I am not fond of people who provoke others into fights. I'm not somebody who much likes fighting, period; but worse, to my mind, is mealy-mouthed, simpering provocation.
As to ignoring some portion of your remarks? I apologize if you think I did, but I believed I was responding (with a remarkable lack of rancor, despite your opinion) to the gist of your post.

It turned to vinegar?
Never had a wine actually do that. Maybe it's something that happened when every Italian made wine in his basement, and the acetobacter got in there, but with modern wine, it doesn't seem to happen. These days, when a wine is too old, it just turns brownish and smells and tastes like coffee or soy sauce.

If engineers can figure out how to achieve almost complete combustion, not only would you have almost no emissions, you'd have very high mileage 4 bangers with outputs of almost 400 hp
Back in the day, Indy car engines were 4 cylinder Offenhausers that burned a high alcohol content fuel.

BTW, I don't think modern wines can turn to vinegar unless they're unfiltered (and I'm not sure of that, I'd have to do a search, and I've got dogs and a bed calling my name); they simply go off and have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I could easily be wrong about that, of course.

It's my understanding that the responsibility for that falls upon the driver. He or she is supposed to roll the window down, and loudly shout "Vroom, vroom!" when accelerating, and "putt, putt, putt!" while decelerating.
If you have one of the rare 2-stroke Priuses, you can substitute the sounds with "Brrrrraap!", followed by "ding, ding, ding, ding."
BTW, a shout-out to Dianna and bebe.

Even that didn't strike me as weird as the billboard for some Indian Casino advertising the Pork Chop Hill Buffet.

Forget about his grades, help him find something he cares about or he will drift aimlessly through life unless he lucks on to something before he gets too old.
As he continues to find nothing to inspire or excite him to make him want to anything to pursue the dream, he'll get cynical and lazy and wind up in lots of trouble and eventually perhaps old and alone.
spend more time WITH him instead of nagging him about grades.
No it doesn't mean reward him for not putting any effort into them but I really, really mean this; FIND HIM SOMETHING that catches his fancy and motivates him to do the hard and boring stuff that life requires of us.

This earned an immediate command to go away, and die in a fire. I then pointed out that you can't order someone out who has been here longer than you have, and we all debated that. There was some name calling. All of which might be described around here as "a Friday" even in the daytime.

I like Ace's writing and almost always agree with his analysis, though he swings way too much between extreme optimism and extreme pessimism, whereas I tend to be contrarian, like a flywheel. The big issues that he gets really emotional about are those that I most often do the same thing: free speech, leaving people alone, outrage at bullies, etc. I'm more a sociocon than he is, but we wind up agreeing often anyway, even on those issues.
The comment section here can be, as Breitbart alluded, the best and funniest on the Internet. Or at least that I'm familiar with. There are some hateful people here, but the site is busy enough that it's very easy to ignore them. If anything, I sometimes think it's become too busy because you just can't keep up with all the comments and are bound to miss some funny stuff and some good commentary too. (I'm not fond of some of the highly repetitious, "obligatory" posts, for this reason.)
Nevertheless, I appreciate that Ace has left it so free-wheeling. It's as healthy as I've ever seen it, and for a site this old (in WWW years) with almost no changes to speak of, that's pretty amazing. It's a bit like Drudge in that respect: one guy's personality as the focus, a minimal and crude interface, and it just keeps rolling along.

Ha, I wish that were the case for me. If I'm honest with myself I don't even like writing, it's just the way my brain is wired, but what I really like is the *business* of writing. Which may explain why I prefer corporate copywriting and editing (ads, websites, books, whitepapers) to fiction, at which I suck something awful. Which is why I got 2 days into NaNoWriMo before tapping out. Heh.

There are sites who changed their comments that I won't even visit anymore let alone comment at.
I'm not sure but I think the advertising money tends to hide how much the popularity of a site relys on the comments.
Breitbart.com is crap now for me as you have to log in every browser session yet you can reply anytime. there's also the new disqus comments where you have to load comments instead of going to a certain page or like here scroll to the time or number. When you have to load each page of comments and can't jump ahead, you lose the trend if you go away and then come back to see if someone replied to what you said.
Here it's like a conversation by carrier pigeon.
I'm very scared that Ace will eventually have to change this and a custom comment thingy might just be too much so we'll wind up with some off the shelf thing that's terrible.
Why do sites think they have to change their format? The DC just did it and they look awful. I'd like to see the page hit stats on some of these sites that got cocky and changed.

Galveston Daily News switches endorsement from O in 2008 to Romney.
"Four years ago, then-candidate Barack Obama used an inspirational message of change and undeniable charisma to convince a majority of the American people he should be the next president of the United States.
Today, that hope President Obama was so successfully able to foster in the American people has all but disappeared as the policies and programs he has implemented have made the difficult economic and foreign policy issues he inherited worse instead of better.
Which is why we recommend Gov. Mitt Romney, the Republican challenger, for president."

It has been shown that snails will operate a manipulandum to electrically self-stimulate areas of their brain. Balaban and Maksimova[73] surgically implanted fine wire electrodes in two regions of the brains of snails (Helix sp.). To receive electrical stimulation of the brain, the snail was required to displace the end of a rod. When pressing the rod delivered self-stimulation to the mesocerebrum (which is involved in sexual activity) the snails increased the frequency of operating the manipulandum compared to the baseline spontaneous frequency of operation.
That's right a couple of scientists taught snails how to masturbate.

Try technologists.
Scientists are the ones who think things up then the engineers figure how to build it (or the machines to make it happen).
Techs are the guys who have to figure out how TO MAKE IT WORK.
In spite of the obscurity of the scientist's description and the ignorance of the engineer toward how things really work the tech has to accomplish the task. (I'm simplifying obviously but sometimes it has seemed that way.)

As a nation, we're heading into a major shortage of doers and a glut of college-educated debt-enslaved hanger-outers and talkers. Nobody knows how to do simple stuff anymore, because they think they'll just junk the old one and buy the latest model from China -- whether it's furniture or cars or industrial machinery. My cousin's a plumber -- does well for himself, owns his own company. If you're a machinist, you seldom find yourself out of work for very long. It's unfashionable to say that people who work with their hands can be as successful as those with college degrees, but there's only a certain number of anthropological digs, while the number of things that need built is infinite.

I also think that colonoscopy could be made a lot more painless (I guess you can't say "non-intrusive," can you?), but didn't go there because plenty of women get those, too. And I hate-hate these man/woman TV jokes.
I did run off and look into the history of mammography, though, because I have heard it bitched about for 40 years and it's so hard to believe that nothing about it whatever has been improved, especially when you look at how much other nuclear medicine has been altered to avoid giving patients the heebie-jeebies. And I found a really touching story.
The great impetus for regular mammograms was pushed by Dr Philip Strax, 1909-1990, who did a massive survivor study to show that early detection greatly improved outcomes. His wife died of late-detected breast cancer in the 1940's, and by all accounts he was hopelessly in love with her, and totally shattered by the loss. He resolved to spend the rest of his life making sure this did not happen to everyone else.
By the early 70's, the people he worked with had achieved so much, statistically, that he dared to use the word "cure." He was the first.
And so you see, so far from being something created by heartless men who just don't care what women feel like, widespread mammogram use was inspired by a man who loved a woman very much indeed. His mistake was in not wearing pink or doing 5K's.
Please forgive me -- not for speaking up, because fuck you I am right -- but if I can't get all tee-hee giggly about the work of some real giants who were motivated by love and loss. I don't think the memory of a man like Strax should be denigrated for so light a purpose.
And yes, I'm aware that there's a Dr Who character named that.

"The point of the question was how someone could be a top ten commenter without people having seen any of his comments. "
Silly me: where was that "point" stated in the post or comments? Unless it was you who intended to make that point?
Because that was the most reasonable interpretation of it. I'm sure many people looked at the list and said, "Who the fuck is 'hold onto your seat'?"
>>> Don't follow the "reasonable interpretation" thing.
As for me having a "thing" about "cliques", where have I ever expressed such a thought here or anywhere else?
Perhaps I'm confusing you with others who have made the exact same argument. If so, my mistake. I've seen it made here more than a few times, specifically "clique" described and the like.
>>OK. But I repeat: I would like to see the ratio of new posters vs. regulars over the last year. IOW is this blog attracting new commenters.
I would further like to see the ratio of repeat commenters to total commenters over the last year.
You get my drift.
Sounds to me like there are gatekeepers here , or clique members, who have access to Ace commenters IP addresses in order to make their insinuations...
So, how about if Ace posts monthly unique posters and tallies them against repeat posters/socks?
Posted by: Jim Sonweed at October 21, 2012 11:56 PM (2c1Cq)
I have no idea what you're talking about. I have the same access as anyone off the street.
>>>It's not clear who among Ace's posters are his actual proxies, at least not to poor uninformed me.
We all have access to pseudo-IP addresses (in terms of uniqueness) thanks to the hashes, but that's about it.
Who is this "we" you speak of?
I guess people who really care could look at sitemeter, which lists IP addresses of page views (sans the last part) ... if you really, really care, I guess.
>>>Thing is, I suspect most posters don't go there --they just post
I just thought the intent of the original statement was pretty obvious and had little to do with any "clique".
>>Not me! And ambiguity is the enemy!
People will generally recognize all the names on the list because ... they post often enough to be on the list, so everyone runs into them here or there.
>>But the "People" you allude to are the people who "post often enough to be on the list" AKA...the Clique!
That's why this list was kind of weird with that. It's not about cliques. It's about frequency and distribution of normal commenters - even "non-cliquees" ...
>> Not understanding that. But thanks for your follow-up.

In the last 10 years, the residential parts of the electric code have become pretty involved. AFCI/GFCI requirements have changed, receptacle type requirements changed in 2011 as well as new language demanding that a neutral be present in boxes containing switches for lighting (i.e. no more switch loops and dead end 3-ways).
You can't just pop a new breaker in, sling some Romex and drop a new receptacle or light in somewhere on its own circuit anymore.
The 1999-2011 changes are pretty radical and most homeowners couldn't meet the code unless they had the book and studied it for quite a while. In
1999 shit was pretty close to 1960 (other than for GFCI), now its like wiring a fucking starship by comparison.

As I said, my cousin's a plumber and does well -- because he owns his own shop.
There are a bunch of trades that work way too hard, make far too little, and burn themselves out way too young, and the chance of having your own shop is between nil and zero -- concrete, flooring, roofing, rough carpentry, paving, painting, and drywall come to mind.
There are quite a few specialties that pay ok, and after a bit your experience can make you more valuable -- plumbing, electrical, security, phone and data infrastructure, glaziers (though they often come to bad ends -- "I've leaned on glass like that hundreds of times."), wallpaper guys, fire extinguisher specialists....
But the biggest freakin' divas -- who act like they are a prince among men and expect you to kiss their hands for showing up -- are HVAC. That might be just this area -- Silicon Valley -- but it just goes to show how one trade can really use some major competition. Someone who is competent in their trade, square with their customers, and shows up when he says he will can do well here. (I've found one for residential, BTW)
So it's not that being useful is a universal good. Plenty of guys go into drywall and bust their asses until they do a bad lift and screw up their back. Plenty of guys go into carpet until the knee-kicker messes up their knee. It needs to be the right sort of thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if there major blowback from some of that 2011 shit...lotta nannystatism there.
The code has never been about future expandability or usability only the safety and compliance of the installation. Future use and usability were explicitly disclaimed right up front.
This switch loop requirement because of what someone might install in the future, and all the T/R receptacle requirements are a major break with the previous tone of the document.

My auto mechanic told me that it's a real problem to have your AC serviced in Mexico. It seems they'll drain all that expensive "Freon-unobtanium-438" and ship it to shops in the US, then refill with LP gas (same as your BBQ grill) which works just as well......until it leaks near a spark.

Sergeant Lee Nolan will lose out on at least £100,000 after he became one of 20,000 soldiers who are being axed in savage military cuts.
He was so furious at losing his job, his Army home and financial Âsecurity after risking his life for his country that he sent his six military medals to David Cameron.
And in a moving letter to the PM he wrote: “The events of the past 12 months have turned my life on its head and sullied my near-18 years of loyal and exemplary service to my Âcountry.
“The medals I have enclosed would only serve to Âremind me of the shocking way I have been treated.”

It also charged that the polls – virtually all of which now show Romney in the lead or at least in a dead heat – are fraudulent. Press TV has picked up on some American website tweets that predict black Americans will riot if Obama loses.
Obama is far from being a friend of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but the prospect of a hawkish Republican candidate apparently is even less attractive for Tehran.
“All signs are pointing towards another neo con-Republican election theft attempt, like the successful ones of 2000 and 2004,” Press TV told its readers Sunday.

I've got some early generation SQ-D's that will trip if I use my corded Sawzall with'em and stroke the trigger lightly for a slow cut. Don't have that problem with the GE's and Cutler Hammer's.
I have seen some older light fixtures that had a bonding strap from the frame to the neutral...that would be an instant trip on an AFCI when powered up.
People mixing up neutrals is a pretty common wiring error AFCI's point out.
With Romex cabling, a lot of the nuisance trips are gonna wind up being bootleg grounds, where the bare gnd snuck around and contacted a neutral screw during box stuffing, or someone was heavy handed with the sheetrock knife stripping the cable and nicked/sliced the neutral (pretty common thing I've seen when trouble shooting). It happens more with the 14-3/12-3 cable due to the spiral construction.
I always just lightly score the sheath, then bear down for the last 1/2" to make a couple of sheath flaps I can peel. That eliminates the cut neutral issue.

Most interesting/fun part for me to read: They only came up with O + 4 with women; Romney is +10 with Independents and has a +4 favorability ratings; and Obama's job approval is at 45-50, disapprove. And that's all with an (IMO) unrealistic D sample size.
I don't trust polls; only one that matters is the one on election day. Nonetheless I am curious to see how many of these change to a more realistic sample in the days ahead.

But it is indeed my time to go.
GOD BLESS..."THE ACE OF SPADES!!!"

But, Richard -- why can't you stay on? It's not like we're throwing you out.....why are you pulling away?

Politico/Battleground poll out:
Romney up 2 now, compared to Obama being up last time.
Appears to be D+2 sample but with a small number of Independents, although they do that "Indy lean Dem/Repub" thing....
Looks like the pollsters have given it their best shot and are now being intellectually honest for their own reputations' sake.
