21 Ways That Rich People Think Differently From the Poor
Average people think MONEY is the root of all evil. Rich people believe POVERTY is the root of all evil."The average person has been brainwashed to believe rich people are lucky or dishonest," Siebold writes.
That's why there's a certain shame that comes along with "getting rich" in lower-income communities.
"The world class knows that while having money doesn't guarantee happiness, it does make your life easier and more enjoyable."
From Steve Siebold, author of "How Rich People Think."
And the 2012 Election Popular Vote by County
Pretty much what we've gotten used to seeing - a sea of red and then the blue cities. Thanks to the genghis.
The protestation is a familiar one to police officers: "My son (or, brother, husband, friend, neighbor, or what have you) would never do that!" And "that" refers to whatever affront to the commonweal the son (or brother, etc.) had committed to bring himself to the attention of the police. The cop's response most often goes something like this: "He apparently would, and he apparently did, which is why he's on his way to jail right now." To the cop, there are few human foibles that come as a great surprise.
But once in a great while there comes along a man whose downfall is so radically divergent from his ostensible station in life that even the most jaded police officer cannot help but look on and ask, "Who would have thought it?"
Who is the Most Invadiest Country in the World?
Short Answer: Britain.
A new study has found that at various times the British have invaded almost 90 per cent of the countries around the globe.
The analysis of the histories of the almost 200 countries in the world found only 22 which have never experienced an invasion by the British.
The 22 are Andorra, Belarus, Bolivia, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Guatemala, Ivory Coast, Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mali, Marshall Islands, Monaco, Mongolia, Paraguay, Sao Tome and Principe, Sweden, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Vatican City.
Okay many of these are countries that no one really wants - but still why not grab a piece of Sweden, Guatemala, and maybe the Ivory Coast when you get the chance?

Constant swells of registration 90% turnout in Philly precincts. Are you fucking kidding me?
Look hard at the Allen West recount. First he's a patriot and he deserves our support.
YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT KEEPING THE PARTY DIVERSE.
Then help Col. West!!! He is now up on raw vote totals, by about 300, when they SIMPLY DID A FUCKING HAND RECOUNT OF THE BALLOTS.
In other words, he could win and not simply concede the night like some pasty bitch RINO saying, we'll get them next time.
FUCK. Stop the fraud.
Sorry for all the f bombs Marybeth, but we need to check these numbers hard.

I have a lot more to look at here, getting all the information in and sifted will take days.
But Florida did turnout for Romney. The lowest significant drop is 97% of McCain's numbers and those are about 2,000 votes in that county. He increased on McCain's numbers in every county. I'm seeing lots of 2, 3, and 4 thousand vote increases.
It all falls apart with Miami-Dade. Romney drops 30,000 from 2008 and Obama jumps 40,000 from 2008. 70,000 vote swing and wipes out all of the gains in the rest of the state. Obama's increase there was also his highest in the state.
The "GOP didn't turn out" meme is valid for Miami-Dade only, not for Florida.

Yes, DAve in FL, and OSU made an interesting point. Romney only got 50% of the vote in St. Lucia, where the head of elections is some kind of crazy and rabid obama supporter, as allen west has alleged.
HOW IN THE FUCK COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE???
Dave in FL, you did excellent work by the way. What if Romney got a crap ton more votes in that county as well?
We need a very hard look by our Florida people on this. Allen west is now ahead on a hand recount of paper ballots in palm beach county. PALM BEACH. Wonder how much he'll be ahead when they recount the repub parts???
How much more would Romney have been up??
Romney should ask for a recount of the whole fucking state. EXPOSE THE FRAUD or screw ups or whatever. How can these votes not get counted???

I'm not trying to be a dick either. I know nothing about polls and data and math in general. But you seem to think there's an actual case here? Or at least massive suspicion?"
No, not finding massive widespread fraud. Only in Miami.
Every other county looks like we would expect. Good turnout, numbers higher than McCain, numbers for Obama much lower than in 2008. On track for a close election, with a win of around 100K for Romney.
Miami-Dade probably cost Romney over 100K votes. By the registration numbers it should have been up a minimum of 10K for Romney. Instead, it went down 30K and Obama went up 40K.
It is the one county that went in a completely opposite direction as the rest. The base turned out and voted in Florida. Except in Miami.

AGAIN, by forcing a hand recount of ballots in palm beach, colonel west is now up instead of losing.
He was originally losing by 2600 votes. If that is the case, imagine what happened in other districts.
COME ON, if Col. West shows that his votes were underrepresented by 5000 and that is from one district, imagine what was going on everywhere.

But in liberal Palm Beach Allen West has already reversed a few thousand vote hole.
AFter looking at the numbers do you really think that the base turned out in other counties, as expected? Just because he hits 100% of mccain's numbers, that is not what I would expect.

One of the problems that might be solvable is a nationwide effort to have a voting system with integrity (although they will be resisted by Dems).
If optical scanners with a paper trail physical ballot were used as the national standard, it should be possible to do a real recount (something that appears to be unverifiable with any computer based system).
If voter ID and the purple ink verification were used, then it would be much simpler to limit the ability of the dead to rise and vote again. Note that this is important enough that states should offer to drive a rolling photo ID van to the home of any indigent that pleads lack of transportation, and the photo ID should be free for the asking to avoid the suppression argument. Unfortunately some areas may require police protection while issuing IDs, but that's the way our society has evolved.
There should be no early voting except for true absentee voting (subject to ID requirement).
Any state that does not have a process that ensures deployed military are allowed to vote in a timely manner loses all military related federal funding until the next presidential election.
And then I woke up...

This election reminds me, for some reason, of one chapter in the Chronicles of Narnia books(the voyage of dawn treader). The ship sails into a void where all your dreams come true. They find someone who was stuck there trying to escape. The crew of the ship can't figure out why as all your dreams come true there. He tells them that they don't understand. ALL YOUR DREAMS come true. They understand and high tail it out of there. I'm going from memory but thats the gist of the story. Well, the country has voted. May "all there dreams come true". Not sure why that crossed my mind but it did.

Hopefully this weekend I will finish going through the Florida numbers, but here is my concern for us...
We are moving too fast in laying blame. I have seen many different theories and nastiness to people on our side. We don't yet know what went wrong.
Clearly the GOTV was a huge clusterfuck, and cost us some votes. But our base was still turning out in sufficient numbers to win, and doing it across the entire state. We probably didn't need ORCA because our voters were motivated.
Blaming SoCons, or White Voters is just plain wrong. The turnout was there, and we were winning Florida. The CNN exits show Inds were slightly against us in Florida, so we were winning it with our base.
Except in Miami-Dade.
If we fracture the coalition, or start ceding ground because we need to appeal to Hispanics, we will be making a mistake and helping the Democrats.
We need to understand what happened first. And none of the theories presented so far account for an entire state acting exactly as we expected, except for one county.

Lets put up taxes, lets put forward the entertainment tax reform, they want to pay their fair share right? They are driving round in limos and planes while 16% have no jobs. Lets put forward some IP reform, limiting copyright duration and start pitting Hollywood and the RIAA against the youth who want free movies and music. We need to get some fucking young blood in here, not some geriatric thats going to slip and make some ridiculous statements thats going to be misrepresented and smear everyone.
Lets start initiatives to bring in immigrants that would compete with union jobs and see how long the Dems are big on inimgration. Even start working on getting marriage out of the tax code and putting it in as civil unions so we can retain the idea of marriage as heterosexual. Make them expose themselves that this wasn't about actually rights, but about putting gay marriage in the same space as non-gay marriage and forcing the acceptance on a public that has culturally defined marriage a specific way for centuries.
Lets start calling out the media, lets ask for a czar of media neutrality and flood the fucker with complaints. After all the country deserves an impartial media doesn't it.
Make them say no, make them look like dicks, show the electorate what they are really like. They spend plenty of time doing it to anyone who dares not vote for them.
Meanwhile taxes will go up on everyone. I think I read that half the 47% that don't pay taxes are only exempted due to the Bush tax cuts (thought they were for the wealthy?). Looks like they are in for an awakening. Obamacare penality/tax kicks in in in 2014, can't wait for their faces when they get that. All though lower income folks or people with part time jobs (mostly O voters probably).
aaah, I think I'm done now....

AGAIN, by forcing a hand recount of ballots in palm beach, colonel west is now up instead of losing.
He was originally losing by 2600 votes. If that is the case, imagine what happened in other districts.
COME
ON, if Col. West shows that his votes were underrepresented by 5000 and
that is from one district, imagine what was going on everywhere.
How is that even possible?

Well, for me it would be 1953 (after the Korean War) to 1965 (right after the British Invasion).
I'd like to live a full lifespan within those twelve years. Each time it became 1965 I'd go back to 1953 again, until I'd lived out my seventy or so years.
Failing that, I'd like to live a full lifespan in the movie North by Northwest.

It showed some amazing New Jersey diners.
In Tennessee, there's a diner that deep fries its hamburgers, and they still have the original oil in the frier from the fifties. It's sterile because of the heat, and they add to it periodically because the meat soaks it up, but they haven't thrown out the whole lot and replaced it since the fifties.

"Why run Ryan? He never ran state-wide in Wisconsin and he was absolutely invisible on the trail"
I was not happy during the VP debate to watch Ryan react to Joe Biden's overcaffeinated behavior, and constant boorish interruptions, with relative passivity. Some of the morons said it was understated Midwestern good manners on Ryan's part. To a lot of people not from the Midwest who don't understand that dynamic, Ryan looked like a beta male.
It would have been great if Ryan had said something like,
"I've got a seven-year-old son, and I'm used to having to remind him to quiet down and politely wait his turn to speak. But this is the first time I've run into a seventy-year-old man who needs the same reminder."

The logistics of the situation is that it's being handled by governments instead of markets. If some random guy could drive a tanker over the bridge, set up next to Central Park, and sell full 5-gallon tanks for $65 apiece, there'd be a parade going back to Oklahoma -- subject only to the ability to get over the damned bridge. Then some other guy might figure he could do the same for $60 and be back with another tankload before the first guy sold out.
After everyone got done slitting each others' throats, the price of gas would probably be somewhere close to other places in the area.

A little unsolicited advice from someone in the same boat:
Be content with what they have to offer. I've met only a handful of people in my life who were on the same wavelength as me, and it used to depress the hell out of me. I mean, like, I was in a twenty-year funk about it.
In just the past year I've learned what a waste that was. My approach now is to accept each little smidgen from each person I know, and all together they add up to a whole.
Try to be as self-sufficient as possible, and then you'll view each of those little smidgens as a bonus.
I say this as someone who once had someone with whom I was in total synch, and when I lost her, I thought I'd die.
Now, I'm grateful for each little twinkle or oddity that comes my way. I hoard them like a squirrel loading up on nuts for the winter.
Generally speaking, it's enough.

Posted by: elizabethe voted for Romney/Ryan at November 09, 2012 12:02 AM (ou/rY)
IMHO, there is a healthy fear of guns and an irrational fear of guns. The healthy fear reminds you that at its basic level, a gun is an instrument to kill, and all instruments to kill should be treated with respect. The irrational fear is the liberal fear, that a gun will hop out of the drawer you have it in and pop a bullet in you.
If you live in DC, good luck getting a gun. I believe it was an Examiner reporter who wrote about her experience to get a pistol and it took months. If you do end up getting one get someone you know who is familiar with guns to give you some advice.

They haven't ever counted the other more conservative areas yet in his district.
Electronic only voting machines MUST BE BANNED. We need paper ballots for verification purposes. Algorithms can be programmed to jack up the voting machines.
Even the fill in the bubble ballots, the machine that reads them CAN BE RIGGED OR MISCALIBRATED OR WHATEVER THE FUCK.

It has a little to do with converting from being a lib to being a conservative. I lost most of my friends at that time. and then moved. so.
Well, Since I'm a former music journalist in L.A., all my friends are liberals. One of my closest friends is a colonel in the Army of the Russian Federation.
Three close friends are a hippie, a former member of the Frank Zappa band, and a punk rocker. They all know my views but still like me.
Despite the polarization of the country, we get along because we never talk politics. We talk music, art, photography, their kids, absurdity, movies, literature, weirdness, etc.
I would say that the people who dumped you because you became a conservative weren't your real friends in the first place. I've known two of my leftist friends for over thirty years.
The way I look at it, politics is cyclical. Today's it's my friends' time to be happy. At some point it'll be my time to be happy. I don't buy into the "We're doomed!" talk because I've seen countries in far worse shape than we are throw off socialism and embrace the free market. The next four years will give all my friends a crash course in real socialism.
I'm already betting that at least two of them will become conservative. If they do, we still won't talk about it, because our relationships are based on other things.
Posted by: Llarry at November 08, 2012 08:09 PM (SI/pw)
I'm another crazy person doing NaNoWriMo; so far I'm behind, but I'm a fast writer so I'm not worried about catching up. Do we have a full list of the Morons attempting it? I lost some writing pals due to politics, so knowing there are fellow writers here has been a great help. Sometimes it feels like the left has the monopoly on telling stories, but it helps to remember that behind every really good story, the ones that don't seem to die, a conservative message is lurking, in hiding, waiting to be found. Timeless principles, we can haz them.

Fucked up indeed.
Huck was instrumental in keeping Todd Akin in the race after Akin shoved his foot in his mouth to the knee with his "legitimate rape" bullshit.
And Huck was thus instrumental in convincing a couple of million ditzy chicks that Mitt Romney's entire party wanted them to carry rapist babies to term, along with banning tampons and suchlike.
And Huck was thereby instrumental in delivering Barack Obama a second term.

So yeah, I'm trying to raise him right...been doing it on my own for the past seven years. Far from ideal, but until our move here to Oklahoma, he had some good women in his life like his grandma and my sisters.
Yesterday he was trying to explain to some of his facebook buddies that somebody has to pay for all the "free crap you want". I think he's gonna be OK.

Sequoia is one of the big voting hardware vendors like Diebold. There's a few others too.
Curious that Palm Beach bought from the outfit that had Chavez ties though. On paper Chavez is supposedly divested, but the influence remains through beholden executives.

There is. I was forced to listen to ABC news shows this week when with family, they had TWO reports in the same week, on True the Vote, and that while the group SAYS it is not racially profiling OF COURSE it is, or that was the impression I got. The angry black lady voter ABC interviewed for the story said so, so it must be true. Apparently one of the higher ups oin the group is black, but of course they won't interview her, it doesn't fit the narrative.

If you want the cheapest handgun, I really don't know. However, for effectiveness, i.e. will it do what you want it to do, I have two recommendations: in a .45 caliber, the Colt 1911 (or it's knockoff equivalent) is your best bet. Only limitation is magazine size (7 rounds standard, 10 HCP). In .40 cal, I'd go with a Glock. (15 round magazine easily available, 22 round also available). If you're not sure about your accuracy, go with the Glock. But don't buy super-cheap ammo (jamming problems).

"FYI - Electronic voting machines have been outlawed in FL since ~2007. Palm Beach took a huge financial beating when they disposed of all the touch screen units. What I saw in my Palm Beach precinct was Sequoia scanners..."
And a scanner, of course, can also be hacked to alter the totals.
Perhaps an optomechanical unit would be hack resistant.
But really, we need to do away with these mad rushes to deliver vote totals right away with automated high speed ballot processing. This isn't a horse race. There is absolutely no need for such nonsense.
Vote tabulation should be a slow deliberative process, almost ceremonially slow, where people vote on paper ballots, that go in locked boxes, which are watched by election monitors from all major parties from the polling place right up until the boxes are opened and the votes are tabulated, again under supervision from multiple election monitors.
Not least because this would get rid of early election calls. That have so frequently caused problems in the past for late closing polling places.

I don't remember if anyone here remembers, but I commented ages ago about my sis in NYC, gay and unionized yet excited to vote for Romney. She called me up Tuesday night, and it was either depression from the results or drinking a whole bottle of wine alone, but she started sobbing over the phone. She is terrified that the theatre she works for will have to undergo massive budget cuts and she will get canned, since she is lower on the totem pole. She loves her job and because my mom raised us right she is a super hard worker, and because of that she has done well in her job. I've been trying to reassure her that between Bloomberg the crazy and NYC libs loving to coddle the arts her theatre will not go under, but she is genuinely terrified. Reassured her that no matter what happens, she can always move back to Utah and regroup. Both family and the government can be there for you in hard times, but only family gives you hugs.

If you have no gun and primarily need it for home defense or can't get a carry permit where you are, always always always look to a shotgun first.

If you ever get castigated by a lib for that view, you can tell it/them that Eleanor Roosevelt and a female buddy (I don't know if it was her lesbian lover or not) thought that too and armed themselves for a tour of the South they went on. Roger fucking wilco.
The long support by the Cuban diaspora for the GOP has a lot of Republicans fondly thinking that Cuban == broadly representative of Hispanics in America. The Mexicans I've talked to don't think that way AT ALL. In fact, there is some serious resentment about Cubans.
Then within the Mex community there are some really fierce regional rivalries. Saw a parking lot where Sinaloa and Oaxaca had got into it over something late on a Saturday night. You would not imagine how much blood was on the pavement. I thought it was a location shoot for a direct to video horror movie until I saw the crime scene techs taping it off.
Then there are the issues between Mexicans and Guatemalans, Mexicans and Salvadoreans, Guatemalans and Salvadoreans, and... shit oh dear. We are really uncorking a mess.

Yeah, my brother got it just to mess around with the sandbox aspects. I "discovered" the actual plot to the game. Which was important because he couldn't use his all guns cheat codes until after you get the character's cell phone a couple of missions into the game.
But yeah, in game, it's far more entertaining to restock ammo by jacking a police car, using the scanner to locate the crime in progress, and 'busting' the perps.

Of course they cheated: Chicago Way writ large. Romney's a numbers guy. He knows they cheated. He conceded without demanding a recount in the highly contested swing states for what he thought was the good of the nation, and the Democrats banked on his love of country to pull it off. The big fear, always unspoken publicly, is that we'll start shooting each other. The American Civil War was a bloodbath, and it was fought with black powder and bayonets. Imagine what it would be like now.

The first batch is known to have had issues. Slide failures being the most dramatic.
I put thousands of rounds through civie 92F and 92FS though with zero failures to fire, and zero feed problems. The things ate everything from the hottest +P+ subgun ammo to nasty heavy 147gr hollow point subsonic stuff for suppressors.
I always loaded the mags light one or two rounds though which probably helped.

The soft left's (not the hard left - think Menschevik v. Bolshevik) ultimate goal is "fairness" -- no one should be able to have a superior quality of life because they have more $ (except special people -- actors, musicians, etc.). It's not fair that Romney can afford a horse for his wife's MS but most MS people can't. The idea, then, is to make it nearly impossible to get rich and to transfer the tax money that causes that, to poorer people, not so much in direct $ transfers, but in free stuff. Basically, anyone competent enough to hold a government job (which is basically welfare for incompetents) can expect a lower middle class lifestyle. That's where they want to go. So, they'll make all income -- whether wages or investments -- taxable as income and then raise taxes excessively above $250K. (I think $250K counts as upper middle class in S.F. and Manhattan, hence the cutoff.) It's not 100%, but it'll be brutal. Of course, they expect the same economic growth under a more dynamic system, but they'll learn the hard way. In short, it's $ envy, and if the masses can't have what the rich have, then the rich can't either. Sure, they want their abortion, birth control pills, and cannabis, but that's small potatoes. I base this on discussions with a lot of fairly well educated Dems, some even in the sciences. They simply have no clue what money is, how economics works, etc. They think they can engineer a system that will make almost everyone middle class.

Athletic. Backcountry skier. Thinking of carrying now in the backcountry because of the wolf packs that are exploding all over the NI panhandle. Have been coming across fresh elk kill in our regular routes.
So we've got a couple problems: Live in inner city and methheads breaking down our doors, and when we go back country, running across wolfpacks. But rifles are harder for me to handle because ..............upper body strength. And weight.
Backcountry is all about minimizing weight. Much to ponder here.

Do your homework before going to a range. I'm blessed, living very close to a military base which happens to have an outdoor civilian range with both shotgun/trap shooting and rifle and pistol lanes, and yes, they furnish rental guns of various types and calibers, but that's a rarity, especially where shotgun shooting is concerned.
If you're buying a shotgun, I strongly recommend buying one with a full shoulder stock and not one of those tacti-cool pistol-grip types. Yeah, the cut-off pistol grip style looks formidable and very action hero, but they're a bear to shoot accurately. And yes, you do need to actually aim a shotgun. The shot pattern is very tight at ranges up to about 25 yards, requiring a semblance of marksmanship. They're scatter guns, all right, but they don't scatter that much.

The 10mm never really caught on for no reason I can fathom; I think it's a solid caliber. A friend of mine let me shoot his once--a chromed-out looking EA Witness. I kidded him about his pimp gun but enjoyed shooting it immensely. Ammo's expensive, though.

Small hands: 8-shot .357, ported, stainless. Good for rough weather, gets wet, porting reduces recoil, good for medium-sized animals.
Got a .357. 6 shooting revolver. w/ bear loads. That is the likely weapon we'll start taking. Still need the shotgun for home self defense and all your info will be acted upon immediately. No time to waste. Geez. Such a newbie but with access to a variety of options. I think I'll make this my new sporting obsession.

The FBI initiated the development of the 10mm after the 1986 Miami shootout, when mad-dog murderers and bankrobbers Platt and Matix took numerous hits from 9mm, .38 Special +Ps, and 12-gauge pellets and kept coming, managing to kill two agents and seriously wound five others in a close-range gunfight. (Matix, who did most of the damage, was primarily using a .223 Ruger mini-14). The gunfight didn't end until Agent Edmundo Mireles, badly wounded, rushed the car in which the two men were attempting a getaway and shot them both in the head at point blank range with a .357 loaded with .38 Special +P.
Platt was shot 12 times with various calibers. Matix was shot 6 times. Hence the 10mm.

I also have my go-to place for if the town I live in gets overrun by the "zombies". I used to live so close to the bortder the people coming across would ask me for water and food to go on. In the olden days, I would help them, but I am so happy I am not that close any more. The downside of the Tokarev caliber is its ridiculous penetration capabilities. You've got to know what's behind the target because it's likely to go through and through. Punches through most non-military body armor.

G_d bless you all. And I really do have a good bug-out location if you are in dire straits come the zombie acopcolypse. You will just have to try to fit in around family, ya know? Just look for Alamogord on the map, and look a little bit out in the county. If things get really bad, I will put up the wookie signal.

"701 Actually the Norden bomb sight did work well on the Hiroshima mission. Enola Gay's atomic weapon missed the Aoi bridge AP by less than 200ft when its radar altimeter detonated it at 1,800ft."
My dad had a Norden bomb sight on his B-24. He said it was highly classified, and he was supposed to try to destroy it, if a situation arose where it might fall into enemy hands. On the one mission where he had to bail out, he figured the crash (which was nearby) would probably do the trick. Plus there was ammo going off, or something.
The second time, he knew his ship wouldn't stay aloft, so he picked his spot and had everybody bail out for a fairly decent altitude. I'm sure they would have had no idea where that one crashed. Well, not to within miles, anyway.

@724 "... His views may have moderated over the years, but he's never publicly disavowed the beliefs he held as a younger man, and his associations buttress the conclusion that he still holds them."
Some things just drive me CRAZY, and this is one of them.
"You didn't build that"
Do a little digging once in a while, people! READ the damn transcript. I have heard RIGHT-leaning people call that quote a "gaffe". How do you "Gaffe" for FOUR PARAGRAPHS!?!
In the four paragraphs, he not only says that famous quote, but he says essentially the same thing FOUR times. This was only the most quotable form.
The full context is a full-fledged rationalization for nationalizing companies (er, SOCIALISM!!) The whole idea behind "you didn't build that" is to delegitimize the ownership claim of the business owners! The argument is that if you owe the success of your business to the government, the government is within its moral authority to take what THEY rightly deserve credit for.
It seems like NOBODY GOT THIS. It was a socialist rant!!! And the only people who would even be ABLE to babble off a socialist rant are (duh!) SOCIALISTS! He told us he was a socialist, right then and there!
This guy has done practically everything except write the country a letter that says, "Hey, stupid!! I'm SOCIALIST!!!" It walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, but it's black, so if it calls itself a swan nobody can say otherwise.

Caught the movie "The Dead" (2010) on tv last night. Was not bad. Not bad at all. Would recommend it highly to zombie buffs. Set in west africa and shot in 35mm celluloid, REAL film. Looked great for a low budget flick. Nothing fancy, just good zombie suspense in the west african bush.

I saw that, too. It was a smart zombie movie. The protagonist was intelligent and resourceful. In most zombie shows--The Walking Dead especially--people do incredibly stupid things most people wouldn't do in such an implausibly catastrophic situation; for example, engage in deep, meaningful conversations about relationship issues in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. And I swear to God, if that Carl kid refuses to obey orders one more time, I'm feeding him to the zombies myself.

Here's the night owl preview on my analysis of what the hell the deal was with the election, which I hadn't sorted out until today, but was too busy to throw out there.
What everybody's saying is bunk.
The polls weren't right - they fudged a non-commital number by making crazy assumptions with the internals, and got lucky. They picked a narrow Obama win because their patrons wanted to hear Obama would win, and that way they wouldn't be as far off. Their internals were all over the place, and mostly wrong. That CNN poll was D+11, Indies R+22; the real numbers were D+6, R+5. Let's not pretend they knew what they were doing.
Let's not forget that our main problem is the media. They have gotten so out of control that they have hidden the story of a socialist with Communist, terrorist, and felon affiliations so that such a person can be President, and then actively bury scandals and his abyssmal record. The media propaganda is so enormous, it is a wonder that any Republican ever gets elected. The problem is not "the message" or "the demographics". It must be a damn good message, if we can win when we have to swim against that raging current.
If we didn't have the media problem, stupid things like the "Homer Simpson effect" (as I had termed it) wouldn't be fatal when they spring out of nowhere. It sounds like Sandy cost Romney about 10 points with the Indies, which is 3 points in the popular vote, which is the margin we needed for the four states between us and the White House.
But even that wouldn't have killed us, if not for this unbelievable screw-up with the ground game. We must have lost at least 5 points of turnout because of that, to end up with fewer votes than McCain. 5 pts in turnout means about 4 pts in popular vote, so that was a bigger deal than "Homer"/Sandy.
If EITHER of those unlikely disasters had not happen, we'd be in a much better mood right now.
But if we had ever figured out how to neutralize the media, Obama would never have made it out of the Illinois state senate in the first place, tens of millions more people would be employed right now, and our economy would be booming. Without the media, Obama wouldn't have had a chance in hell - of getting elected even to dog catcher.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Am rather picky about zombie films, but this well done. The engineer was good, as was his erstwhile ally. Liked that it was set in an african war zone, too. Like you said, most of what happened was plausible and made sense, apart from a couple of decisions they made, but, I guess you can write it off to fatigue and sleep deprivation. Liked the emphasis on obtaining water, food and getting rest, safely. Also, I appreciated the attention to ammunition. When running low, use the machete... save the rounds for REALLY tight spots.

It's possible that it won't be so tough from here on, with the media. They are going to continue to be hostile and it has gotten much, much worse since 2000. But, the MSM was totally deranged in it's devotion to serving Barry. He is the ultimate wet dream for the left, he ticks so many boxes. There was no way they were going to let America fire the fuck. With the electoral fraud ramped up the way it has been, a landslide was the only way out of Barry redux. With the media that was always going to be a bridge too far. However, now that they've had their historical first precedence, they aren't going to be a rabid. It's not going to be good, but, I suspect that it won't be this bad again.

Good Morning,
I can't believe I woke up this morning feeling just as bad if not worse then Tuesday, how is that possible. I feel hopeless which really sucks, I'm just kinda sitting around spinning my wheels going from I should turn it all of and say screw politics to how the hell to we fix this shit and what can I do to help.

In other times, we could say 'screw politics' because politics didn't have much of an effect on our daily lives. It was okay to be indifferent. Now, an increasingly intrustive government is involved in every aspect of our personal and professional lives, influencing every move we make, and it is impossible to be indifferent. It's fair to say politics is now screwing us. Another word for what's happening is 'tyranny'.

It's the MFM.
It begins and ends there.
The need defrocking and terminal flogging.

If the liberals have won the identity politics fight, they've won everything. In a state divided by mass immigration and multi-racial conflict, which America has become, identity politics is the whole game.
It's a bad idea to accept that the anti-White left has won, even if you don't think of that as implying pandering.
You have to struggle for the success of your side, whether it's the anti-White side of the Democrats, or the Republican Party, which is 90% White.
The top headline of the latest issue of Newsweek is:
GOP: YOU'RE OLD, YOU'RE WHITE, YOU'RE HISTORY!
When someone is in a conflict with you, and they're winning, and their notion of your future is YOU'RE HISTORY! your only option is to continue to fight them, not matter what the odds, no matter how long and hard the road.
