Overnight Open Thread (15 Mar 2014)

Evidently, sin taxes should now be applied to anything that reduces tax revenues to the government. E-cigs have doubled in use this past year and analog cigarette use is on the decline. So what's a politician to do? Behold so-called Republican Chris Christie's latest budget proposal which includes jacking up the tax on e-cigs equal to real cigarettes. Now just how are they going to apply a per pack tax on e-cigs when e-cigs aren't packaged like analog cigarettes? Are they going to tax the battery? The atomizer? The nicotine juice? What if the vaper is someone who is vaping zero nicotine? Is the mere act of using an e-cig then a taxable offense? And if they tax the nicotine juice, then how about taxing the patch and gum then at the same rate? Post Workout Beer

You know, I never had any issues with regular beer after a workout. New beer created to drink after your workout.

Breastfeeding Discrimination

Yes, one should use manners. I'm tired of the militant (fill in the blank) assuming they are right and that there are no other views but theirs and that it justifies a verbal assault. Boobs or manners?

Once people feel they have a right to do something, it seems they look for an opportunity to be offended. While Eades may have had a legal right to walking around in a tank top breastfeeding in front of other people’s young children and teenagers, she shouldn’t have asserted it so rudely. There is a middle road — somewhere between letting your breast flop out into the open and wearing a burka — that breastfeeding moms and the public need to sort out.

I don't know if you'll ever find a middle road. Breasts attract attention whether wanted or not.

The 727 That Vanished

There was another airliner that vanished in 2003 in Angola.

On May 25, 2003, shortly before sunset, Padilla boarded the companyÂ’s Boeing 727-223, tail number N844AA. With him was a helper he had recently hired, John Mikel Mutantu, from the Republic of the Congo. The two had been working with Angolan mechanics to return the 727 to flight-ready status so they could reclaim it from a business deal gone bad, but neither could fly it. Mutantu was not a pilot, and Padilla had only a private pilotÂ’s license. A 727 ordinarily requires three trained aircrew.

According to press reports, the aircraft began taxiing with no communication between the crew and the tower; maneuvering erratically, it entered a runway without clearance. With its lights off and its transponder not transmitting, 844AA took off to the southwest, and headed out over the Atlantic Ocean. The 727 and the two men have not been seen since.

69 Story from nowhere needing to be told, at least needing for me to tell it: There was a girl in college I loved, and she liked me back, and I think I was on the sole member of the list of "he's good enough, now let me maneuver him to do what he needs to do". That is...Until I said I was joining the service after graduation. In retrospect, it is clear that in five seconds, she had eliminated me from "further consideration". I took it pretty hard when I found out years later she had got married. Pretty hard indeed...crawled into a bottle, stayed there awhile. Tonight I find, twenty years later, that the charming young lady both became a fatty hag and a Democrat. I guess it is a natural progression from "Thanks for your service, but I can't be bothered to date someone like that, because I don't want to bounce around the country." to arrogant Democrat. Very natural, in my mind. "Coffee Party" was one of her likes. Idiot.

108 98 The funny thing about the vape is that the State thought it was in their best interest to tax the shit out of cigarettes while at the same time trying to prohibit their use at every turn. Now people are not smoking as much and governments aren't taking in as much money as a result. Of course they are going to go look for another vice to tax the shit out of. Vaping seems to be that vice. The exact same thing will happen with pot. The left wants to legalize it, then tax the shit out of it while alternately demonizing smokers and Big Marijuana. They really are a broken record.

And so did I. I owe nothing.

I was delighted when my sister quit smoking on New Year's. She's fine most of the time, but has a tough time when she's driving and and having a glass of wine. The e-cigs have helped her tremondously with that.

I would have used them myself if they had been around when I quit. Now they want to punish people who are trying to quit (the ones who use e-cigs)? If I was a smoker and not trying to quit, I wouldn't bother with the things - I had a puff off my sister's e-cig and it's not much of anything - it just helps with the hand-mouth thing (very, very hard to get over) and the sensation of seeing a little bit of "smoke" and feeling like you're really smoking. They're effective pyschological aids is what they are.

These asshat pols are showing it's not people's health they're concerned about. They want the goddamn "sin tax."

216 The price of smoking.  I never did, watched too many of the older generations of the family die because of it.

But I was taking an accounting class in junior college.  One of my classmates, she was this cute blond and she smoked.  Hanging with her at lunch and just chatting.  And she was wondering where to get the money to afford a buying a truck.  Walked her through the math on the cost of her smokes and the light blinked on on how many truck payments she could afford by not smoking.

Then we went to the accounting class.  So she rattles off to the fossil man who was our instructor how she applied the class to real life.  And he exclaimed that was a stupid reason to quit smoking.

Posted by: Truck Monkey, Gruntled New Business Owner at March 15, 2014 11:02 PM (jucos) Places in Virginia have started doing it like my town of Roanoke. For years they neglected the water and sewer/stormwater system by using any money earned from that for the typical overpaying of employees and other worthless bullshit. Now, they don't have the money to repair/replace the system so we are going to get hit with a new tax by the city. They will base it on how much of your property has been "improved". Asphalt/concrete driveway gets taxed while a gravel one won't. I'm thinking Roanoke will just go out and buy more ethanol fuel vehicles that they will fill up with gas.

286 AS my wife just finished up breast feeding my infant not that long ago, I guess my question is, why wouldn't you want to be discreet about it? Given the number of pervs and toilet hobos lurking about, do you really want to give somebody a free show? Is it really that hard to to find a wall? Did you not bring a diaper bag with extra milk (by which I mean previously pumped boob juice) to avoid this whole issue? And what kind of husband wants to have her wife flashing tit everywhere. I'm glad the though nuts on the video decided that it he was manly enough to affront an hourly paid worker.

(no ampersand) at March 15, 2014 11:29 PM (R3gO3) Donna, I make a salad with kale that I think is pretty good. I use baby kale and put diced cucumbers, carrot shavings, and sunflower seeds in it and lightly dress it with macadamia nut oil and Bragg's apple cider vinegar. The vinegar is what transforms the kale into something edible.

369 My cat occasionally goes from snuggling getting petted to attacking my hand, but I'm sporting a wee bit of a scarface today because the dog was rolling on his back yesterday right at my feet and I bent over and was scritching his belly and wham, he kicked his back legs to roll over --got me right on the cheek.

371

My siblings all take after our olive skinned dad and turn dark brown after, oh, 10 minutes in the sun. I take after our fair-skinned, blonde Polish mom and turn bright red after 10 minutes in the sun. I always burnt like hell first and then I would tan. That was in the days before anybody cared about skin cancer (which my sister - who baked for hours with only baby oil on her skin, now has.)

Now I find I am so light-sensitive that when I'm walking I'll move from side to side and even cross the street to stay in the shade. As a result, I am whiter than white during the summer. And I don't care anymore. When I realized I hated sunbathing (in my early 20's) I stopped doing it and so now I still have skin that isn't lined and  doesn't look like leather.

It's the de masculinization of America (and of the World in some places).

The idea that if something can harm someone at sometime or has harmed someone at sometime, then it has to be outlawed or over regulated.

(this particularly includes Males)

The results of this experiment in anti darwinism won't be known for 100's of years. (well maybe less look at where we are now already)

403 Who was the moron that went out for McDonalds last night? ---- Zachary Boynton is here to do three things: drive drunk, eat McDonaldÂ’s and chew bubblegum, and heÂ’s all out of bubblegum. Mr. Boynton was charged with DWI when he drove his automobile into the car ahead of him at the McDonaldÂ’s drive-thru in Oneonta, N.Y. The inebriated 31-year-old had a blood-alcohol of .25, more than three times the legal limit of .08. Boynton was released to a third party who took him home. I guess Boynton had to drown his sorrows of his arrest because it appears that he drank once again and four hours later he was right back at the same McDonaldÂ’s to get some fast food to absorb his alcohol. ---- And he ran into the McDonalds.

Pale white skin was prized when most people worked on farms. Beginning in the 1920's, tanned skin was valued because at that point most people worked in factories or offices, so it was harder - and thus a sign of lesuire and status to have tanned skin.

Whatever is hardest for the masses to achieve becomes the status symbol. When the masses starved and were hungry, being plump was sexy. In the late 20th century, when it became easy for poor people to be fat, well, suddenly "Twiggy" was in.

Organic foods and grass-fed beef and free-range chicken are fashionable because most people can't afford to do all their shopping at Whole Foods. When the masses are all buying organic at Walmart, it won't be fashionable any more.

I grew up in Minnesoda, and we used to lay out in the sun at the lake. Sun was so rare, we didn't burn too much. Then I move to TX and later New Mexico. Sun here is very much hotter than in MN.

When I am outside, I try to stay in the shade, and use sun block to prevent burns. I have had a couple doozies since I moved down here.

When friends from MN come to visit, I find myself standing in whatever shade is available, and the friends are out in the sun as much as they can be. I remind them to not get burned and always have a lot of water with, even if it's just a run to town in case we get stranded and have to walk a ways.

MN friends also use the tanning booths in the winter a lot. When they come to visit they usually have darker tans than I do.

OK, horde, help me out on this. I was on a site far more respectable than this one, one that requires you to use your real name - and I've gotten a message - "I'm glad I know where you work and live" from a lefty troll there.

Yeah, I'm worried. Not crazy worried, but worried enough, because there are insane people out there and we know how "tolerant" and "non-violent" the left really is.

I reported the message to the moderator, called the local police (who took the threat seriously enough to write up a report - apparently they get reports of Facebook threats all the time - a detective gave me a FBI number to call if it escalates).

The thing is, I think it might just be some asshole lefty who decided he wanted to scare me a bit to get me to shut up. And it annoys me that it was mission accomplished - I am a bit scared by it.

466 I can relate to the pain.  I once made the mistake of going to a 3-day rock concert with my brother.  In Florida.  In the summer.  Without sunscreen.  For being such a riduculous multi-mutt, the Swedish and Irish sides of the family seem to have won out in skin tone.  If you can't guess where this is going, don't worry, I've got details.

My face and arms turned a lovely shade of brown by the last day, then a spiderweb network of blisters came up from below, and over the next couple of days, the my entire face peeled off, leaving me as pale as I started.  On the upside, a small mole I had just to the left of my left eyebrow came off with the peel.  I went through more solarcaine and aloe during that week than in my whole life before or since.

492 I've been reading some theories that the plane was hijacked in order to load a nuke or other very large bomb on it and fly it into a large city If that was the intent, why steal a passenger plane when it's most likely easier to jack a freight plane? If someone wants to use a passenger jumbo to carry a bomb, it's not a simple matter of sticking it into the luggage hold. The plane has to be gutted and some sort of retrofitting has to be done to make sure the bomb sits nice and still until Achmed sets it off. If that bomb shifts around while the flight in progress, especially during takeoff, Achmed is shit outta luck I'm starting to think that whatever was planned wasn't thought out thoroughly and somewhere over the Indian Ocean the plotters realized they had no Plan B

The pilot was, by all reports, a strong supporter of an opposition political leader that was jailed only 7 hours before the flight took off.  If I had to make a guess, he probably intended to take the plane to a remote location and ransom the passengers and plane back to the government for his release.  Something probably went wrong with his plan, which is why we haven't heard from them since, unless the Malaysian government is hiding something.

Anyway, this is an update from one of them. I won't identify him definitively, but here's hopefully some insight into their thought process. Bear in mind: this person considers himself a VERY conservative Christian.

"the US govt has no business telling Russia to get out of the Ukraine--obama is using this as a false flag to force war with Russia--to start world war 3, stay in power and force martial law on the usa. Putin is a good Christian who dont do anything--without first asking himself--what would Jesus do? Russia has as much right to send soldiers into Crimea--as the us govt does to send soldiers into TX. we are living in the last days people--time to get right with God is now--before that missing malaysian plane taken over by islamic terrorists gets loaded up with nuclear missiles and are let loose into the usa atmosphere disguised as any other plane. i probably will die of a bad tooth problem i cant afford to take care of within the next month and refuse to take care of--so i wont be around for any of this--but remember who was right about this when it comes to pass."

544 468 Another crazy part of the whole SXSW thing was how young most of those injured were, like mostly under 21,there was even a 17. Of the 19 names released 11 were between 17-20. They weren't even legal to drink but were hanging out on a street that is lined with bars. Posted by: lindafell at March 16, 2014 12:25 AM (PGO8C) It's a big celebrity thing. The celebs like having some young "talent" around, so organizers and local politicians all decide to "look the other way" during these confabs. With kids getting killed now, SXSW will probably now just fade away when the locals get pressured to "crack down".

Saw the Blue Angels' first show of the season today, at their winter training home, Naval Air Facility El Centro (2 hours east of San Diego, towards AZ).

Probably low 90s, unmarked blue sky, dry.  Very nice small air show.   Got to chat with RAF crews here for Apache training (they are heading to the firing ranges in AZ now, then back to the UK, then Afghanistan) and a Dutch F-16 pilot here on a training stint.  Funny, he mentioned how the perfect SoCal/AZ weather actually provides poor training for the NATO crews, as their weather is typically poor/bad in their actual areas of responsibility back home.  Not sure if he bought my speculation that the F-35 would become a casualty of excessive costs, though he seemed to understand my point that while it's a nifty platform for small air forces, for the US the numbers that could ever be afforded just don't cut it in terms of global commitments.

Nice F6F Hellcat there, playing with the last fully/mostly authentic Zero from the Chino museum.

Air shows are one of my life-long favorites, I remember those from decades ago and childhood clearly, and how my father loved them too.  I was lucky to see many of the icons up close, many times (Art Scholl, Bob Hoover).  This one at El Centro will now be a regular - gotta be the smallest, easiest event at which the Angels fly.

They get "more" money by having the drinking age at 21 instead of 18. Govt being govt is addicted to money, so they keep it there. This was done because all the politicians bowed down to pressure from MADD, and IMHO the problem with drunk driving has gotten worse since the age was raised because so much of the drinking has "gone underground" where there is no controls on it.

And his family moved out of the house the day before. I don't know how those two pieces of information are related. Maybe his family said they couldn't be around him if he was acting so crazy about the trial or something.

586 That is a male cat pouring the coals to a female. Can't be. I've heard the feline baby-making before, and it's usually when the female throws off the male when there's a sound, and it's pretty brief. The fights I hear on occasion, the loud wailings of either cat is usually punctuated by flurries of growling, spitting, and sounds of physical fighting. Left to their own devices, it'll go on for quite some time. The first time I heard this where I live now, I listened to it for a while before going out with a flashlight to scare the bastards away. Now, if and when it happens, I'll go outside as quietly as possible, try to determine the approximate position of the combatants, and fire a volley of BBs from my CO2 BB pistol.

606 That story about the 727 that vanished in Angola suggests to me the idea for a movie plot....

There's this Moron, call him Jack, ex-miltary, aircraft maintenance engineer, who has forgotten more about airplane refitting than other engineers ever learned. Divorced, out of work, disgusted with life. Out of the blue, he gets a call from Mike Zimmerberg, an Internet  billionaire, and huge Obama bundler. One of Zimmerberg's smaller enterprises is a cargo airline in southern Africa. So happens that one of his planes has been grounded at an up-country airstrip in Angola for close to a year now, with a bad engine, and can't be flown out. There is no service facility there. Zimmerberg offers Jack a hundred grand to fly in there on one of the airline's other planes, along with a reman engine, do the engine swap, and prepare the plane to be flown back to a more civilized center.

Now Jack has a bad feeling about all this, but he badly needs the money, and he is bored, so he takes the job. He gets to the remote airstrip all right, and there is the plane, and they offload the spare engine, and his plane is gone. He gets a room at a run-down local hotel, and starts to work, and it's a long process, lacking proper shop facilities. He becomes acquainted with this moody Russian guy, Toly, also resident at the hotel, and learns he is one of Russia's foremost computer hackers, on the run from Putin's secret police. They start swapping stories, and Jack mentions he is employed by Zimmerberg, and Toly warns him that he knows Zimmerberg is a double-crosser of the first water. Jack asks if he can hack into Z's email, which he easily accomplishes, revealing an email which details a plot to use a bomb to down the plane Jack is fixing, on account of the fact that the airframe is houred out, and not worth rebuilding, so a crash can be used to collect insurance.

Anyway, forewarned about the bomb plot, and still not sure how to deal with it, Jack carries on with the replacement of the engine. Now unbeknownst to Jack, or to Zimmerberg, for that matter, a gang of jihadis has been stashing uncut diamonds, stolen from the local mines, in various cubbyholes on this plane for several months, and keeping a watch on it 24/7, with a plan to simply swarm the plane when it finally makes a move to take off, and hijack it for a flight to Yemen, where they will sell the diamonds to raise money to buy a nuclear warhead from Pakistan for Al Qaeda.

Now, a hot blonde turns up on the scene, and commences romancing Jack. She turns out to be the pilot assigned by Zimmerberg to fly the plane out, but will also be revealed as the agent intended to place the bomb on the plane, and she is also an agent of the FSB, and assigned to murder Toly the hacker. Toly has discovered this from further email hacks. Her plan is to get them all on the plane, take off, then put the aircraft on autopilot, set a timer on the bomb, and then bail out with a parachute.

Jack and Toly decide to acquire parachutes of their own, and secrete them aboard the plane, and then bail out before the plane reaches cruising altitude. So they proceed to do this, and in the course of hiding the parachutes on board, discover some of the hidden diamonds.

Final exciting climax time (took long enough, didn't it?):  Work on plane is completed. Hot blonde pilot runs up engines, verifies they are good to go. Jack and Toly are aboard, the latter ostensibly as a hitchhiker. Ground crew are readying to roll the stair away, when the gang of jihadis attacking, shooting ground crew members, and swarming aboard the plane. They order Blondie to take off, and fly straight for Yemen, with guns at her head and those of Jack and Toly. They take off, climb to cruising altitude, and swing East toward Yemen, many long hours away. Blondie manages to slowly bleed off cabin pressure, and eventually the jihadis, who have been very hyper and excitable, become comatose. She and Jack and Toly are less affected, because they have been sitting still, not burning calories. Once the jihadis are all comatose, Blondie cranks up cabin pressure again, and before the jihadis awaken, Toly and Jack move through the plane, and tie them all up with duct tape. Then they return to the flight deck, and confront Blondie with what they know about her plot. She breaks down and cries, and admits it all, but says she has fallen in love with Jack, and had decided not to arm the bomb. Besides, she tells them, she has discovered a secret; the plane is loaded with diamonds. Jack says, "Yeah, honey, I knew about the diamonds, but I didn't know why they were on board." So the three of them decide to search the plane high and low for diamonds, and they find several kilos of them. They each stuff their pockets with diamonds, Blondie sets the timer on the bomb, and they untie one of the jihadis who is starting to awaken, and then Jack, Toly, and Blondie bail out.

Film ends with the freed jihadi waking his companions. Achmed, the leader, and designated pilot, takes the controls of the plane, and orders the door to be closed, which they manage to do, with difficulty, one jihadi being sucked out to his doom (long, blood-curdling scream). Achmed says, "well, we have out airplane, we have lost our hostages, but so what? We have our diamonds." Up pipes Mohammed, "leader, we have some of them, but less than a half-kilo. Most of them are gone. But we did find a heavy box in the rear galley." Achmed looks at Mohammed. Mohammed looks at Achmed. "Was it ticking?" "Funny you should mention that....."

Arright, so you now you know, Tom Clancy, I ain't.

608 The reason I think they could be alive is that if someone were trying to make a political "prisoner exchange" you'd need to have someone to exchange him for. In that situation, it really doesn't make sense to kill anyone except for maybe the co-pilot if he's not in on the plot. Now, obviously something may have gone wrong and the plane still may have crashed, but I jsut don't see a guy who's reacting to a political imprisonment just randomly killing people for no reason.

619 568 It is pretty easy overall to make and detonate a nuclear weapon right here in the US -- all you need is is 123 pounds of U235 enriched to 85%+

The nominal spherical critical mass for an untampered 235U nuclear weapon is 56 kilograms (123 lb),[3] a sphere 17.32 cm (6.8") in diameter.

(wiki). You can even make a (crude) weapon from 20% enriched U235, a level that Iran is already enriching to. Then build the bomb right here; they'd probably have to smuggle in the required exotic high explosives as well though.

This is why it's important to stop them from enriching; everything else is engineering once you have the HEU.

640 Main link at Drudge: "Pakistan?" Various maps suggest that Pakistan is at the edge of MH370's range. More importantly, the only way there is over India. Is it possible that MH370 crossed India without being detected, or by masquerading as another flight? The first possibility is truly embarrassing for India, as MH370 would have to fly at altitude to reach Pakistan ... no chance to evade radars at 30,000+ feet. The second option ... still very embarrassing. /Tinfoil on But is there a chance that MH370 was allowed to fly, and finally allowed to land in India as the fuel tanks went empty, and India (and every other government) is keeping a lid on this to prevent passengers being executed? Stay tuned ... /Tinfoil off

It's not a case yet, because nobody's been arrested......but the stupid CT legislature decided to outlaw what they knew 300,000+ citizens lawfully owned....and got about 50,000 people to comply (the rest silently stating "fuck off"). They've since amped the rhetoric. Without a court case, the legislature can say any damned thing they please....but once they arrest someone, it's in the hands of the courts.

I'm assuming that the local court goes with their local buds, the DAs (who can, as the saying goes, indict a ham sandwich). Interesting stuff starts happening at appeal, where principles of law come out to play.....and that would be where the guy arrested is the plaintiff to overturn his local court ruling.

It would then run up through the CT state court system -- but it's looking like someone along the line would eye "Heller" and toss it....but if the stupid runs thick and deep in the CT bar, it could end up on SCOTUS' plate....and I really, really, really, really, really don't see it going well for the gun-grabbers if stare decisis even exists at that point.

720 Arright, so you now you know, Tom Clancy, I ain't. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon Off the cuff comments for giggles sake. Nothing serious, just comments. Ignore away. • All of the main characters must be in the first act even if only referenced in passing or under pseudonyms -> Blondie has to be in the first act *particularly if she's a love interest.* Not entirely sold the love thing. "I am Raashan wooman." "I'm an American! Let's get it ON!" Does he know her prior to? He should. Is she a known danger? Did she have a part in getting him fired, divorced, or disgusted. She has to have been. Underline goes there. • Two 'macguffins' = bomb / ins plot and the jihadis. Two disparate plots seem to muddle the threat. I get the idea of introducing multiple threats as the 'twist' but they have to be integrated somehow. Also, just thinking rationally the jihadis would wait until the last moment to stash the diamonds on the plane because who would try that while a plane is undergoing an overhaul? Seems like a recipe for fail. Here's a thought, Jack accidentally hires a jihadi confederate as a foreman/2nd hand man on Toly's recommendation. ↓ • • There needs to be a twist in the 3rd act in which Blondie, Toly, and Jack all suspect one another after *trying* to stop the jihadis. For example, Toly recommended the confederate and Blondie's parachute is discovered next to the diamonds! (Like I wrote, for.example.) Then some of the jihadis need to wake up for fisticuffs and EXCITEMENT. Climax: Messican stand off with the three left standing. Jack's heroic act of saving them all, stopping the plots, and getting away with it all - that's an ending. Still need to know what happens to Mike character - arrested? 742 Farmer, my condolences. I'm fortunate to have both parents still in reasonably good health, but if Mom goes first Dad will follow within the year and if Dad goes first Mom will probably hang on for a bit. Either way, I'm looking to make my way back a little closer to them in another couple of years.

MAx, good to see that the gun owners in CA are starting to see a little light. Been a long time coming.

It seems to be well swamped-in with triviality. Is there something I should look at in-particular that I might think is important?

There have been a number of books relating to "Scotch-Irish" or "Jacksonian" traits....which have pointed out that, coupled to sufficient resources, they've pretty much dominated the world we live in -- while simultaneously failing in their ancestral habitats. Furthermore, there are more Scotch-Irish living outside Scotland and Ireland than ever lived within.

758 Oh, I'm drunk. Druuunk. I must be to be talking in song lyrics. If I'm going to do it however, I'm going to do it right. Here's my loadstone in lyrics. Living Inside My Heart by Bob Seger. " When the sun came up this morning And she smiled her smile for me I felt it for the first time Something deep inside of me So you can take your midnight rambling boy And you can keep your winding roads She's living inside my heart now Living inside Ah there's an easyness about her There's a softness in her way But she gets me through the hard times We get closer everyday I know I'll never be alone now boy Cause even If I'm far away She's living inside my heart now Living inside And I don't know what I did To deserve her But I'll tell you this my friend I'm never gonna lose her Never gonna lose her Cause every night She's living inside my heart now Living inside Living inside my heart now yea, Living inside Inside my heart Inside my heart Oh I never believed How much someone could come to mean to me" Ever wonder why I'm happy? Why I can write those whimsical gardening threads? Gingy's why. *Mic drop* Yea, It's good to be the king, but only when you have a queen.

Genesis 1:27 -- "
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

It is in our nature to wander the world, incomplete, until we find the other part of the "them" that was created.

You have found completion with Gingy, and she with you -- and you've raised some rugrats together that have their own tale to tell in the history of the world.

The Horde doesn't wonder....the Horde knows.

765 You're right cthulhu, but it ain't all that, it's just man and woman and kids. Jesus, it's simple biology. we click. And we enjoy that clicking.

766 Incidentally, for anyone following the cthulhu saga....this plays into my reaction to the BH's desire to be affianced. She completes me, and I've readily acknowledged that she's less conflicted and duplicitous....but she'd rather be a fiancee?

And now I'm on the other side. It is all that.

I've had other relationships; I've been so much in love that I'd do anything....but that doesn't go to nice places. The fact is that completing your "them" is more than biology. You said it yourself -- "
Ever wonder why I'm happy? Why I can write those whimsical gardening threads? Gingy's why." That's not a "I've got simple biology with this chick" statement.

Speaking of which, let me know when you're going to discuss the "simple biology" [AKA "good lay"] part of your relationship with Gingy, 'cause I want to get some close-up shots of when she slaps your ass into next week.

I'm so glad that it's working out for you -- it is soooooo good with sooooo little effort that it's practically criminal.

My continued thoughts and prayers are with Paul -- with all his options cut-off, he is trapped in such misery. There are so many doorways to something better and I hope he finds one.
