The Changing Face of Plastic Surgery
Well nose jobs and eyelid surgeries are down over the last ten years but the good news is that tummy tucks and boob jobs are way up.

So we have that going for us.

NATO Agrees to Prosecutions for Koran Burnings
2. After the shameful incident by the US soldiers stationed in Bagram, senior NATO and American officials expressed their deep apologies to the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and assured that such incidents will not happen again.3. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nation's demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible.
If a trial of the American soldiers who authorized the accidental burning of the korans actually happens, well that's where I get off the Afghanistan campaign bus and become an opponent of the war. I didn't support the invasion just to see our military being subject to sharia law by a country of benighted savages. And if that's where we've finally ended up at, then it's exit time and I don't want to see another drop or dime of precious American material wasted on a hellhole.
If we want to keep it from becoming another jihadi sanctuary we can keep blowing up people using drones and bombers and I'm thinking a sustained bombing campaign could make the Khyber Pass well, un-passable.
Inspirational Ninja Warrior Audition Video
Ninja Warrior is an athletic competition/TV show from Japan that features an insanely hard obstacle course and some of the planet's toughest, and some not so tough, wannabe ninjas. The show has garnered a huge American audience thanks to G4 airing subtitled re-runs from years past, and the show has become so popular here that an American version of Ninja Warrior was started in 2009
I used to watch the show on G4 and always wondered how people got on it. Now I know.
Does the Bitch Gene Predict Divorce?
Hey don't blame me - I'm just the messenger here.
If a relationship is filled with rows or a marriage comes to an end, men may wonder what went wrong. But scientists say the answer could lie in a woman's genes.
For the first time, they have identified a female 'divorce gene' that can predict a rocky marriage and identify women who may struggle to commit to their partner.
Women who inherit the variation of a common gene are less likely to get married in the first place as they find it harder to bond with other people.
But if they do marry, they are 50 per cent more likely to report a troubled relationship filled with marital strife. Perhaps unsurprisingly, partners of women with the gene are also more likely to report being unhappy.
Scientists believe the gene affects how women process the 'cuddle hormone' oxytocin, which is known to promote feelings of love and maternal affection.
Basically it's a 12 minute version of Red Letter media that shows how TPM's story should have gone. And why it should have been Obi Wan's story - not Anakin's. Well worth watching.
Do Not Snark About Burkas in Britain
Well unless you enjoy being interrogated.
Ex-fireman Mr Jones, a former member of the Household Cavalry, said he experienced an 'Orwellian nightmare' after commenting on the ease with which a Muslim passenger ahead of him - who had her face almost completely covered by a hijab - had passed through security without showing her face.As he placed his scarf and other belongings into a tray to pass through the X-ray scanner, Mr Jones, 67, said to an official: 'If I was wearing this scarf over my face, I wonder what would happen.'
To his astonishment, he was stopped by security staff on the other side of the checkpoint at Gatwick and accused of racism after a Muslim security guard who heard the remark said it had caused her offence.
The woman took his passport and boarding pass but although he maintained he had done nothing wrong, he said it was 'impossible to get her to listen to reason'.
.He demanded that the officer should arrest him if there was a case against him, but was told 'that we now live in a different time and some things are not to be said'.
So can you spot the passenger who will be singled out for further security checks?
This is from a Princeton and Yale game in 1903 and is the oldest known film of football. Of course this was back before the forward pass or field goal were allowed so it was more akin to full-field team wrestling with a ball. The action starts at about the two minute mark
In case you weren't already familiar with it.

Ninja Warrior is awesome. If you don't watch the original or American Ninja Warrior you're missing out. The newest one of the original starts airing next week and I think the commercials indicate that someone did again achieve Total Victory.
As for the American version. It sounds like the next installment will be all in America which I think sucks. I want to see them compete at the same place the Japanese do.

Well, if the law has anything to do with this, then I challenge them to identify the particular section of the UCMJ that the soldiers will be charged under. That is what American soldiers are subject to. Then they have to get a military jury to convict them.... I can't find a word to describe how small I imagine those chances to be.
Now, sure, they can make something up entirely. And they can just completely ignore the actual law I have no doubt that Obama is, in theory, quite willing to do that. But I can't see how the fallout from that could possibly be positive for him, on a whole lot of levels.

Good going. I do that too. It gets me through those weeks when I don't feel like cooking. If you cook, a vacuum sealer is worth its weight in gold. Making twice as much isn't twice the work, and if it's the right sort of dish (lots of liquid), it'll freeze great. Also great for freezing (or even refrigerating) meat you aren't going to get to for a while.

She's sort of the ultimate skank. Or at least she plays that on TV. I was seriously thrown off by seeing a picture of her without makeup, which made her look like a normal, pretty girl. I think you have to allow for the possibility that she's merely savvy. Paris Hilton is. She plays empty-headed vapidness, deposits the checks, builds an empire, but she actually seems to know exactly what she's doing.

Two reasons: drop goals, which were worth 3 points; and point-after tries. Touchdowns were worth 4, and PATs were worth 2. But since there were no hash marks nor PAT line, the kick was from the 20 yard line perpendicular to the spot the player scored the touchdown. The score of the first football game? Princeton def. Harvard, 6-4.

The forward pass wasn't instated as an official, national rule until sometime in the latter half of the aughts. But teams would use it if the other coach agreed. Apparently, this is one of those games where tey agreed to the forward pass. Originally, an incomplete forward pass was a ten yard penalty on the offense. But this penalty was removed when it became an official part of American football.

He worked on a lot of early radio (both voice transmission and remote control...he made a drone boat in 1898 for the Navy, to demonstrate potential for a remote torpedo), radiation (came up with the concept of cosmic rays), plasma effects and liquifaction, earth magnetic field stuff. He also was a big proponent of AC current and worked on a lot of the early systems for that and the systems were produced by Westinghouse, which is why Edison wanted to destroy him. He also came up with several systems for internal combustion engines, like refined spark plugs.
Basically he did a lot of core early modern sciencey type stuff and stuff that was ahead of his time; but he was a bit of a loon on top of it and sucked at business, so a lot of his patents either lapsed or the ideas never really got picked up.

Army Dietitian Touts Warning Labels for Desserts and Fried Foods at Mess Halls

The nutrition education program alerts soldiers that “red” foods like bacon and apple pie should only be eaten rarely, with a warning: “limit intake.” Foods labeled green, however, such as mustard greens, are deemed “premium fuel for the soldier athlete,” “fresh and flavorful” and “nutrient dense.” Soldiers are advised to eat these frequently.

It is possible, even highly likely, that Amazon doesn't want its distributed products to work on devices other than the kindle.
Although I have a bunch of purchased Amazon digital products that work just fine on my iPods, etc.

And I've read in a Canadian source many years ago that the first true foward-pass football game was when McGill's soccer team was playing Yale or Harvard's rugby team [or with the sports transposed]. They played one game of each and for a third game had fun mixing the rules of the two sports. It was also turn of the century but I can't recall the date at all.

The funny part of the lethality argument of the Current Wars was they're both lethal at the levels they were playing with. High AC has a propensity to burn you up; DC will still burn you up, but if you survive, you have elecrolysis of body fluids that produces toxins in the blood that can kill you up to a few hours later.
If I recall correctly, they ultimately went with AC because it retained power over transmission distance better. With DC they would've had to have a massive transformer every block or so.

Having half my upper body removed last year I can tell you a few things from experience:
1. Boobs. Overrated once the babies be gone.
2. Boobs. Overrated if you like sports of any kind.
3. Boobs. Implants, expanders, tummy tucks to move fat around-frankenstenian.
4. Boobs. overrated if your partner really loves you and not your equipment.
5. Freedom! No Bra !No Need!
6. Boobs. I've been cold for over a year now. I didn't realize how insulating that blubber was. Brrrrrrrr.
7. Boobs. I'm sure I'll be a widow forever because if my current man passes, no other will accept the carnage. Meh. whatever.
And thats all I have to say about that.

Well, it's not kind of bullshit.
If a commander really wants to make something stick under 134, it's not too hard. 134 covers some pretty obscure stuff, not just "Good Order". They don't refer to it as a "catch-all" for nothing.
If they want to call this bringing "discredit upon the armed forces", that's not much of a stretch. Not saying I agree with it, or think it has a snowball's chance in Kandahar, but 134 is what they'll use if they get that far.

Maybe this Koran burning is as artificial as the contraceptive debate. Can they reconstruct the nipple, in that situation? Or save the original one? Or would they worry it could be contaminated with cancer?
But assuming they can do a passable job, why on Earth WOULDN'T a woman get that done?
Posted by: CoolCzech at February 28, 2012 11:34 PM (niZvt)
Regarding cancer, sometimes they just do a 'lumpectomy' (depending on stage, etc). They usually leave the nipple in this instance. Though the rest of the breast may end up with a divet and look puckered.
Regarding elective breast reductions, they can either leave the nipple or remove it and reattach it as a skin graft.
Rearding complete mastectomies for breast CA - they usually take the nipple. There can be some reconstructions of nipples and tattooing to try and make things look as normal as possible.

Hi all,
Romney's win in Michigan is bad news for Obummer. So far Romney has increased his vote total from his win in 2008 by 10,000 votes and Santorum was nipping at his heels. The total turnout there has to be well over 2008.

Here's my deal.Peaches.. I love sports. Boobs got in the way from the time I was.... boobing. And I was small to begin with. I can honestly say, after living with the results over the past year, I am happy to have refused the plastic surgery/augmentation (which is now a mandatory insurance coverage if desired). The mastectomy is painful and debilitating for months. Add the implant /tummytuck situation on top and you're not fully functioning for 6-8 months, if not a year.
Here's the trick as I see it: keep the weight off so you look more like the gymnast or ninja guy.gal. Otherwise, Alfred Hitchcock profile, here I come. Not without its challenges.
But I'm a backcountry skier, and I've been able to get up to doing 4k vertical feet this winter. I used to be able to do 6.5-7k. I'm a year or two off in achieving my prior skills, and fighting age, old age. But I'm proud I'm still in the game!
You can do Gala events with really nice prosthesises. If you must. Heh.
Tell your friend not to fear. My husband has been exceptional. He just wants his partner back in top shape. Boobs? sans Boobs. Don't matter. Real love.

There's an ex-infantry First Lieutenant at my school that's working on his engineering degree. He tells me that when he was in the mountains of Afghanistan, they ate two MRE's a day and ate everything in them. I didn't there were only two tickets left. I bought them for my daughters and they went up in a B-17. They loved it and still talk about it and that was 10 years ago. I forget the name of the plane but the group that flew it was the confederate airforce.
My mom built B-25's during WWII if I get the chance and there are limited tickets my daughters will be watching from the ground.

like dude if we actually meet you its not like we arent gonna KNOW. and yet, still they lie. so that is part of the issue.
not to scare you but i got two stalkers during that time. Use a special email addy just for those hookups and a separate cell phone line.

Bers can speak for himself, but I'd turn it down, too. Been there, done that. I appreciate the beauty of young things, but I only want to look. I just could never imagine listening to all that shit all over again. Girls are wonderful, but they are never a substitute for a real woman.

Polliwog, the book is really good. I have never seen the movie. Well, I think I saw the original one, it was cute, too, if I remember it right. Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda.

I'd be a little embarrassed to date someone way younger than me, BUT, if I am perfectly honest, I don't think dating is really what I am mainly interested in from a kid in his 20s, right? And I'd keep that way low key.
I couldn't do it period, I just mean if I did go after a 23 year old, I doubt I'd go public with it, good grief!

Chris in VA was the moron. The 'ette used a few different names at times but I believe she was the one that made the Blade of Olympus cookie for Kratos at a Meet-up.
I think those are rare. Since we're all spread across the country the chances of being close enough to see if there is chemistry isn't exactly high. So alas I will never likely know just how much a disappointment I could be to any of the single moronettes

Holy shit. What's the code for 35 then, 20? Maybe I should put that in.
honestly, first thing I want is a coffee date just to get that shit out of the way and past the superficial crap of a dating profile. Profiles are all bullshit anyway, but I've emailed well over 100 women and only got three responses in return, including one really cute chubby girl I REALLY wanted to meet, who never returned my email. Maybe she thought the distance was too much (hour and a half drive.) I mean its just coffee for fuck's sake, I'm not fucking asking you to marry me.
But there were only like 15-20 local matches I could go through and pretty much tapped that all out so I've branched out beyond 100 miles. I travel a lot and have no roots here so I could move if I need to, but still, no dice.
I guess I really just needed to look like George Clooney or something. Then all that ridiculous shit about being 6'4 high and must work in investment financing and be a gym rat or some such bullshit would go out the window.

Seen that done. Portsmouth England. Our Marines and theirs, theirs started a game called "punches" where you take a drink and slug the guy to your left, he takes a drink and slugs the guy to his left, and so on. Our Marines didn't know how to play, so they just slugged back. It was epic.
The second duty section of our Marines were at the Hard Rock in London and their Captain did the glass upside down on the bar thing, started a big row with, of all people, the punks. First day in port and 2/3ds of the Marines were in the brig somewhere. The third duty section never got off the boat. F'n Marines.

What's funny is Laura was absolutely horrible with money when we got married, I thought she was going to put me in the poorhouse for sure. I lost track of the number of times she'd just throw the checkbook at me and say "I don't know what I did, fix it!"
She got a lot better at it, and there at the end all I was doing was putting the money in the bank and collecting an allowance, she took care of everything. Online banking was her thing. It was kinda tough getting back into the habit of doing it myself. Not that I couldn't do it, it's just that I wasn't used to it.

On the original Nook, MP3 music files have their own folder called 'my Music.' There is a separate folder called 'my Audiobooks' that does the same thing but the defaults may be different for the audio player function since audio books need to be in order.
If there is a microSD card installed, that will appear as a separate drive with no default folders. It can be set up however the user prefers and any audio files will be displayed along with the ones on the built-in memory.
WMA is not supported, I just found. Most of my stuff is stored that way but I've never used the audio functionality of the Nook before tonight. But tools to transcode between the major formats are widely available for free.

Oh thats a big mistake. lol
Ok well here is what happened. To really set the stage, I was still in a band, and the berserker name is actually pretty fitting, because I was the typical over the top crazy fucking metal guitarist that you read about, only pretty drug free, but the rest applies.
Anyway, I can't remember how it started, but one of the regulars on the blog told me she would be out my way visiting family. I told her I just happened to be playing about a half hour from the area, and if she wanted to stop by as my guest, see the show, hang out with us afterwards etc etc
well.......it just happened to be one of "those" nights where total spontaneous old world drunken debauchery happened. There were a few chicks hanging, who I'm not even sure who actually knew, but anyway they were there, and some married couple. Anyway, the bass player gets the bright idea of getting a room and piling the whole party in there.
We got a dude driving the truck with the gear, and part of the band with half the chicks in one van along with me and my guest and the wife of that couple, and her husband was with the other part of the band in another van with the rest of the chicks.
As we are driving to the room I hear on the walkie that the chicks in the other van started getting frisky and boobehs were flying. I look at the wife of the dude thinking oh he's a dead man seeing he is with the boobehs. She looks at me and says "well you can use me till 8 in the morning, I have to work. Now I realize its gonna be nuts and I quickly look at my "guest" to tell her not to worry, we won;t be any part of that.
before I can get a word out, the "wife" of the couple who had just offered up her body is eyeing up my guest and says "you know, when I get done with your friend here she isn't going to like you anymore"
My guest's eyes get wide in horror (lol).I shake my head like ignore her,
don't worry. We get to the room, and I immediately see shit starting to get going, so i pull my guess into a bathroom and lock the door. I tell her do NOT go out there. just let them do their thing.
Anyway, I hear all kinds of shit going on out there, and there is a knock at the door. A chick's voice says hey in there, we're ready for you. The guest looks at me, throws her hands up and just starts laughing, puts her hands on my throat and says I could kill you. We stayed in the bathroom for an hour or so talking, and getting interrupted with knocks on the door every so often.
Anyway, my guest survived, but spent a few hours mumbling ....you weren't lying, its all true...I can't believe its all true...
The funny part is that she is now one of my dearest friends. We laugh about that night all the time.

The objective at the time was loading up a PC and lesser brand PAD. For higher quality at lower bit rates, WMA was the easy route. Its quality at 128 K was equivalent to MP3 at 320 K.
Storage capacity has improved a lot since then but since I'd still be drawing from Red Book CD there isn't much to be gained. If I ever built up a big library of SACD or DVD-A or files extracted from same, I'd maybe redo the portable library. For now, most of my standbys fit comfortably on a 16 GB microSD card with a bit left over for some audio books.
With SDXC and some other developments it may be worth upgrading the library in a few years. For now, on the hardware in question it would be a waste.

thats freakin hilarious. because really what we do is not so different. Riding a horse and playing a guitar is similar. You cant do it at a high level without talent and training for years, then practice, and at some point it becomes sickness if you are a professional, and you CANT STOP.
and the fixing might be way harder than the playing or the riding i have been learning.

Thats really what it is, you get to a point where you become master and commander of your art, and you can't let go, because you got way, way, too much time in it. You devote your life to it, so the idea of an off switch just isn't happening.

I think it's more that it IS art, and you just HAVE to keep doing it because you're an artist. It's what you do....you play music, or you meld yourself with horses and recreate them or paint or whatever. It's in your souls.
You can't NOT do it.

Spec runs up to him, hollering for treats and then flops at his feet staring up at him with a foolish look on his face. Spooky saunters over and makes him really work for it and a lot of the time she will suddenly disengage and then hide behind me. When lulu gets close its like a miracle.
but i have a strong feeling the next one is gonna be named Hercules.
at the rate we are going tho. Daddy's little princess may be an only cat, because he hates watching her mix it up with another to figure out who is top cat. says he doesnt wanna see her "getting pushed around by those big bitches."
gotta understand it all i can do not to laugh. this kitten that swiped her was a quarter of her size. I really like him. But im reluctant to subject my house to the awesome destructive power that is KITTEN.

There might be a way to correct that. I was reading recently the best way stop encouraging that behavior is to essentially break off what you're doing and walk. My Sadie is pretty good about not getting so carried away and also as an owner I've learned to pay closer attention to their signals.

As I recall, Tammy is just a few months older than me. We could easily have crossed paths at some point. Likewise for some others here who have lived around Santa Clarita or Thousand Oaks. TO is where I grew up, to the extent the phrase can be applied to me. You've all seen it on TV and movies a zillion time without knowing it.
That bunker Steve Austin was running across a mine field to attack in a first season episode? The old TO city hall. The building Proteus IV lived in in 'Demon Seed?' Same place from the interior plaza. Plus a billion westerns, of course.

I've got an A6 laptop and a C2D desktop waiting for new install. Originally, it was just going to be the laptop. The C2D was originally built when Vista hit the market and died recently. Probably my fault because it was pretty full of dust and I've warned others countless times about that. I recovered the files but the Win7 install was clobbered enough to start from scratch, so I got a replacement for the Intel DG965SS motherboard from Newegg for $60 and left it waiting until today.
Win8's requirements are identical to Win7 (a bit lower in some circumstances but not enough so that they're revising from just saying it'll work fine on anything that did Win7 properly) so it should be alright, albeit a bit low end. The hardware is old enough that it will only support 6 GB of PC 6400 RAM. To use a full 8 GB you have to go down to 667 or 533 MHz RAM.
Toward the time Win8 is RTM I hope to build a new machine that will have more current hardware all around. An Ivy Bridge CPU or current AMD if the money is tight. At that point the C2D box will either revert to Win7 (the license on the Win8 Beta is a year) and go into semi-retirement or be donated somewhere. I have a Technet subscription so it's no problem to put whatever OS and apps are needed on it.
