Common False Knowledge

"It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so."

-- Ronald Reagan

And it's not just liberals - a lot of what we were taught, what we read, and things that we know aren't true either. Anything "too good to check" is exactly the thing you should go verify.

Here Christoper Taylor has collected some interesting commonly known 'facts' that  aren't.

  • Kennedy didn't win the race based on his performance at the televised debate with Nixon, he only got a 2% bump in the polls, which is within the margin of error.

  • Johnson probably never said "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost America;" he wasn't even watching the news when Walter Cronkite treacherously declared the Vietnam war (despite all evidence to the contrary) to have been lost. Johnson continued to be upbeat about the war and condemned people who called for withdrawal.

  • For that matter, the Tet Offensive was a disastrous, ghastly defeat for the North Vietnamese Army Viet Cong, which in effect ceased to exist after it because the US military totally obliterated them, reversing their temporary gains in a matter of days.

  • Following the Watergate scandal, there was supposedly a doubling of journalism students, making reporters hot for the first time in history... except that never happened. There was a very slight gain, but the doubling had already taken place.

  • Michael Moore's entire movie Roger And Me was based on his not being able to get into talk to the president of GM... but he did, but just didn't bother showing that in the film, since it would ruin his entire thesis.

  • 30% of women's visits to emergency rooms do not come from domestic abuse

  • There is no rise in domestic violence on Superbowl Sunday.

  • Sacco and Vanzetti were guilty.

  • Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were guilty.

  • Alger Hiss was guilty.

Do The GOP Candidates All Suck?

Well compared to all the 'better' candidates who sat out this election it seems that way, but often that's only because non-candidates have yet to be looked at closely.

For one thing, the non-presidential politicians look good in large part because they're not in the presidential arena. If they were, they would be reduced in stature, mocked, and ridiculed just like Romney, Santorum, Gingrich and Paul. Their past words and votes and life stories come back to haunt them. Any Republican who becomes a serious contender for the presidency is going to face withering scrutiny not simply from opponents but from the press. And there's no guarantee any of the names on Black's list - several of whom I wanted to enter the race - would be doing well at all.
It's all fine and good for commentators and politicians past and present to critique the current combatants, to say how negative, foolish, unprincipled and tone deaf they are. But the truth is that all of us, including politicians of considerable accomplishment and skills - faced with the daily scrutiny and relentless pressure presidential candidates endure on a daily basis - would come off pretty poorly at times. It's a lot easier to analyze candidates from behind a keyboard, microphone, television studio, and at a resort conference or cruise than it is to actually run day after day, speaking at event after event, taking question after question.

The one positive thing they all have going for them is that they really want the job and are willing to work very, very hard to get it. And that's not nothing.

Oh Noes: Anonymous Declares War on the United States

To the Citizens of the United States and the United States Government.
We are Anonymous.

...Therefore, Anonymous has decided to openly declare war on the United States government. This is a call to arms. We call upon the Citizens of the United States to stand beside us in overthrowing this corrupted body and call upon a new era. Our allegiance is to the American people, because they are us, and we are them.

Operation V, engaged.

We are Anonymous.
We are Americans.
We never Forgive.
We never Forget.
To the United States government, it's too late to expect us.

Well Anonymous may discover that having the US at war with it is not nearly as glamorous and fun as taking down a few web sites via trojaned computers from mom's basement.

8 Christina Hendricks, leaked pics, absolutely NSFW

http://imgur.com/a/sWUkZ/all

http://www.tmz.com/

a set of pics has surfaced online showing what appears to be a topless Christina Hendricks ... but Hendricks' rep insists, the breasts aren't hers.

Christina's rep tells TMZ, the "Mad Men" star's phone WAS indeed hacked recently ... and multiple self-shots were stolen -- including several showing a busty Hendricks barely dressed, without make-up, presumably at home.

But the rep insists, the one topless picture -- purportedly showing the actress' bare ample bosom -- is NOT Christina. It's an impostor.

Christina's rep tells TMZ, she doesn't know who hacked her phone -- but the proper authorities have been notified and an investigation is underway.

52 For that matter, the Tet Offensive was a disastrous, ghastly defeat for the North Vietnamese Army, which in effect ceased to exist after it because the US military totally obliterated them, reversing their temporary gains in a matter of days.

It's really amazing how many lies we're told about our military. I just watched the worst, most noxious film I've ever seen, The Tailor of Panama, based on a John Le Carré novel. The movie was produced by le Carré and is a monstrosity of infantile lies, including the accusation that we "firebombed" entire neighborhoods during Operation Just Cause in 1989.

All the Americans are portrayed as drooling, homicidal Neanderthals, and the only honest and good people are the Panamanians. In a final pathetic twist, it features tons of young, brown hotties dancing the night away, the idealized, patronizing vision of Latin America that an old British man would have.

Le Carré is a former intelligence officer who knows what we do and don't do as a world power. For him to write and produce that turd is inexcusable. It was the sort of movie that appeals only to genuine cretins of the liberal persuasion. I watched it all the way through because I was enthralled by how horrific it was. It may as well have been put out by North Korea.

Fuck you, John le Carré. You're a lying old bastard driven mad by your politics. You're a disgrace.

The CIA worked with the Northern Alliance tribes

Posted by: kbdabear

Well, the CIA worked through the ISI, regardless of the nonsense in "Charlie Wilson's War".. At that time, Mohammed Zia al-Huq led the country (and was probably assasinated by the Soviet operatives in an airplane accident).  He had some control over the ISI, and they did his bidding in supporting the fight against the Soviets.

An embryonic "al Qaeda" was there, financed in part by money raised by Osama bin Ladin.  But those guys were the gang that couldn't shoot straight, and were constantly tripping over their own dicks.  bin Ladin was a rich (relatively), pretentious douchebag, constantly being manipulated by other, shrewder people  (like al -Zawahiri) to get his money for their causes.

If it wasn't for the actually evil and cruel handful within al Qaeda, they would be laughable bufffoons.

After the end of the Soviet involvement, all "sides" were supposed to retire, except the ISI created the Taliban to get control over Afghanistan and use that country as a platform for "deniable terrrorist" attacks on their true enemy, India.

Basically none of the law bloggers or professor bloggers would, since they make the money elsewhere. Breitbart did, of course. Ace does. Drudge. I don't know how many of the Bigs contributers do, versus it being a sideline. The Reason people do. Cato. Heritage. AEI. The standard foundation people. Although the Heritage and AEI people seem to have typically made a name and some money for themselves elsewhere first. Just something i was wondering.

93 "Why does Sos fear dismissal?"

Well the incident in question happened on Friday.  That evening when I got home, I checked my work email and discovered that the other guy's supervisor had sent out an email to our entire group apologizing that someone had whined to HR about the Che Shirt and that now everyone's wardrobe options would be far more limited in the future.  He said he couldn't of course "say who had done it" of course, not in an email, but anyone that had any questions could contact him on the subject.

So, I sent an email in response, letting everyone know that I was the one that had indeed asked the kid wearing the Che T-shirt not to wear it, as I found it offensive.  I told everyone who I was, and I also told them that what the supervisor in question had posted was not factually accurate.  I did not call the meeting with HR or get them involved, he had.

I offered anyone that had any questions about the incident a home email address since this wasn't really business related and didn't really belong in a business email account.

The email account I gave them received around 60 emails this weekend, many of them were of the general "what happened" variety, a few "I support you but please don't mention my name" emails and of course I also received threats of vandalism and violence.

One of my friends that works at the same company shot me an email and then called me later that evening and let me know that he had walked by my cubical and my monitor has been vandalized, the word "Racist" was painted on my LCD in huge red letters, by someone using what he's pretty sure was fingernail polish.

I don't go back to work till tomorrow, but my work email account has been suspended since Friday evening, and it does not appear to be a technical glitch.

That more or less sums it up.  I'll have more info I'm sure tomorrow.

94 Breitbart's site is starting the vetting. Article on how Obama was sucking the cock of every Alinsky acolyte he could find and how every one of his associates was happily engaging in an Alinksy intellectual orgy every change they could get. Alinsky is going to become a household name and beating that vile piece of shit's methods into dust will probably help save this country, maybe civilization too, from the radicalism and statism its been used to foist upon people for over 50 years now.

True. All US aid to the afghan resistance was filtered through Pakistan's ISI or the Saudi government to give plausible deniability. So to say that we armed Al Qaeda is at best utter ignorance or more likely an outright lie.

132 "I'd say it sounds like you have a pretty good lawsuit, your employer is harboring a hostile work environment, you should email them and tell them to have it replaced before you get to work."

Well to be fair this whole thing has happened over a weekend, I haven't even seen the monitor myself yet or had a chance to report it - so officially at least my employer hasn't had a chance to respond to any of this yet other than the original T-shirt incident.  I have no idea if my work account is suspended (I suspect it is but it could very well be a technical glitch of some sort) or if so why it might have been suspended.

They may very well have suspended everyone's account that was involved who didn't work this weekend to avoid any problems until they could sort it out Monday.. who knows.  Or it may just be a problem with the webmail.. it's rare and normally doesn't last for this long but it does happen.  The company doesn't yet know anything about the email I've gotten in my home account or the threats I've received, etc..

I've gotten some very good advice on how to proceed from an old family friend, and we'll take it from there and just see how this all goes.  I got the impression from the HR director in the last meeting that odds are she's not the sort I should count on much support from, but she's not the whole company.

Iran and Red China also supported the "mujahadeen", so by logical extension, the also helped to create the Taliban and al Qaeda.

Which of course is utter balderdash.  Iran hoped to extend their "revolution" into neighboring Afghanistan, and China wanted to poke the Russians in the eye with a sharp stick.  The Taliban didn't even exist until the early '90's (organized by the ISI) and Osama bin Ladin and al Qaeda hated the West as much as they hated the Soviets.

Al Qaeda was much more a Sunni Arab creation to counter the rising militancy of the new Islamic Republic of Iran, which was Shia - a creation inspired by the more militant parts of the Muslim Brotherhood.  As others wiser and more knowledgeable than I have said it, the existence and actions of al Qaeda represents something of a civil war within the House of Saud.  al Qaeda openly sought to re-instate the Caliphate, with bin Ladin ruling Saudi Arabia, and al -Zawahiri ruling Egypt.  They had large fantasy lives.

Normally - I kept my head down.  Said nothing.  Left my politics at the door.  But when I saw that shirt... hell, I dunno.  Something just snapped.  I said to myself, this is it.  This is my line in the sand.  I'm not backing up anymore.

So ya, the whole thing is crazy.  I might very well end up losing my job over a T-shirt.  But somehow I just know in my gut this is the right thing to do.

168 173 Now that these Anonymous leftards have officially declared war on the US govt ... doesn't that make them actual enemy combatants or something?

I'm serious. Doesn't that up the scope and ways that the US govt can go after them?

I mean, it's one thing if a militant group like the Black Panthers buys guns and organizes citizen watches, blah, blah, blah .. but it's another if they openly declare war on the US govt.

I'm thinking the Anonymous people really fucked up doing that. And now any President could officially declare them a terrorist organization. Obama won't. But eventually we'll get a Republican in there.

Well, not looking for scorched earth here, at least not at this stage.  My legal guy says report them to the company first, gauge there reaction, then the local police.  He's pretty confidence the police will do nothing, other than issue a police report - but it's good documentation to have for later should this thing end up in a court somewhere.

He was also pretty firm that I was not to respond to any of the negative emails at all - which has been tough.  The death threats in particular were hilarious, and it was really hard not to respond and mock these idiots.

But other than that I'm prepared as I can be for the morning, and we'll just have to see how deep this rabbit hole goes I guess.

For dinner mama bagged out and said you fix it.  one qick run to the store, where I found frozen whitefish on sale.  I breaded it with flour, lemonpepper, a little garlic salt and cayenne pepper, fried it in a little oil and butter. Hit the skillet with some lemon juice to deglaze it and make a lemon butter sauce.  We had a little garlic and herb sauce over noodles, a spinach salad and fresh italian bread.  To complete my indulgences for the day I will have a nice glass of scotch and watch Breakout Kings with my wife's head resting on my thigh.

184 Meme: George W. Bush started the Iraq War. Reality: the war began on December 16, 1998 when Clinton ordered airstrikes against Iraq for reasons virtually identical to the ones that Bush later cited. That same month, Clinton, not Bush, publicly proclaimed he wanted regime change. Iraq was repeatedly bombed in 1999 and 2000 up to the very day Clinton left office. The media believes the war only began when white people started dying on March 19, 2003 and ceased when said white people ceased dying on December 18, 2011.

Lol.. well my company has some serious NDA's I have to be wary of, which is why I've been pretty mum on most information such as their name, location, etc.  Big no no for me is anything that might violate an NDA, which would give them not only grounds for immediate termination but grounds for a lawsuit of their own.  Suffice to say if my company could sue me on something like that they could grind me into paste quick, so can't give them any cause for action on that front.

Sadly I cannot post from work (that's grounds for immediate termination), however if things go well or reasonably well I should be able to post by tomorrow evening, probably somewhere between 6-7 pm CST.

The odd thing about the start of the war, IMO, is that Saddam tried to assassinate Bush 41 after the war ended.

This is an unquestionable casus belli. Of course Clinton did nothing (and should have been impeached for that inaction), but the Left acts as if this is a reason we should NOT have gone to war under Bush 43.

233 Now that these Anonymous leftards have officially declared war on the US govt ... doesn't that make them actual enemy combatants or something?

I'm serious. Doesn't that up the scope and ways that the US govt can go after them?

You can be sure the NSA knows exactly who they are. Several were rounded up a few days ago in Europe and Latin America.

If they actually follow through on a massive cyber attack on the entire U.S. government, official U.S. policy--as stated recently--is to regard such an attack as no different than a missile or mass-casualty terrorist attack, and we will respond accordingly.

Anonymous has probably already become the target of the U.S. Army Intelligence Support Activity, called The Activity for short. These are the guys who gather intelligence for the trigger pullers (Delta Force, DEVGRU, etc.) before missions.

The unit is highly classified, and its code name is changed every two years. Previous known code names for The Activity were Centra Spike, Torn Victor, Cemetery Wind, and Gray Fox.

How would you like to be targeted by a group called Cemetery Wind?

That's how we're going to beat him. Doesn't matter who our candidate is, we just have to dismantle his coalition. Some young people here, some Catholics here, some blue collar workers, some Jewish voters. Bit by bit, that's how we're going to win.

280 Meme: the Iraq war was costly. Reality: in terms of soldiers lives the invasion of Iraq was less costly than the invasion of Sicily in 1943. In terms of spending, total military spending since 2003 has been smaller as a percent of GDP than every single year from 1950 to 1990. The estimates that the war cost trillions is based on counting all present and highly speculative future costs spread out over a lengthy time period plus interest. Using this logic, one could declare that Social Security and Medicare have cost "infinity" as they never end.

298 #316, my gripe with Fox is that they are too loud, tabloid-ish, and glossy most of the time. It's a real turn off when the format and presentation looks like Entertainment Tonight or one of those other celebrity gossip TV shows. The only reason I used to watch it was simply because the slant was so far less to the left than the other networks and they had less of a tendency to frame news or leave off details which would change the truthful & factual narrative into something deliberately misleading. Lying through omission is the modus operandi for most of the MFM.

314 316, you miss the point.  Newt isn't POTUS material.

He may be Fox News material.

Just the way O'Reilly (who beats up on Obama) is, or Hannity, or Megan Kelley, or 4 of "The Five", or even Greta.

They get their point across, and not all those shows have guests.

Still....he's not POTUS material.

Why?  Because not enough voters in crucial electoral college states will vote for him.  He's got...baggage.  Impedimenta.

(unless you think we could nominate Jeffrey Daumer and win this year)

315 Meme: Joe Wilson exposed Bush's lie about Iraq persuing nuclear weapons when he reported that Niger couldn't export uranium to Iraq. Reality: Bush, citing British intelligence reports from 1999, said Iraq had merely sought uranium from Africa, not that it actually was able to purchase uranium. The intelligence community's faulty assessment about the nuclear program was based almost entirely on illegal aluminum tube imports that even the French viewed with suspicion, not any attempts by Iraq to import uranium, which is an actual naturally occuring substance in Iraq.

320 335 #316, my gripe with Fox is that they are too loud, tabloid-ish, and glossy most of the time. It's a real turn off when the format and presentation looks like Entertainment Tonight or one of those other celebrity gossip TV shows. The only reason I used to watch it was simply because the slant was so far less to the left than the other networks and they had less of a tendency to frame news or leave off details which would change the truthful factual narrative into something deliberately misleading. Lying through omission is the modus operandi for most of the MFM.

So...you're arguing that the good is the enemy of the butt-ugly and intellectually fucked.

323 Ok, in all seriousness.  O'Rielly has always been hit and miss with me.  Sometimes he's spot on and interesting, sometimes he's way out in left (or in some cases lefty) field.

His recent anti-oil company rants, perfect example.  Obviously that was just populist screed against an easy target.  It wasn't well thought out, wasn't well researched - just irritating.  All any of his staff had to do was 2 minutes worth of research and they would have discovered instantly that all there "talking points" about supply and demand were total horseshit.

Hannity I usually like better overall, but the Great American Panel - again, hit and miss.  Sometimes they have on really good guests and it's entertaining, but a lot of times it's just a "who can talk loudest and longest" match and it just degenerates into a morass quickly.

Greta?  Eh.. can't really watch Greta.  Maybe it's the fact that she's always got one eye looking at you and another one looking for you, not sure.. something about her.. ok, well honestly it just creeps me out.

329 FOX News !Conservative

I mentioned the other day that Fox News was what opened my eyes to the dark side back in the 90's, it reaally was a good network then, completely different from CNN and MSNBC in every way, it was nothing like it is now which is a shame. Even O'Reilly was worth watching back then, i haven't bothered to watch it all in a couple of years.

Posted by: booger at March 04, 2012 07:52 PM (29wvc)

330 #360, It's the intro noise they blare at the start of shows and segments. Broadcast news has been pulling the same shit the past for years too. Posted by: BlueFalcon in Boston would be forever alone without AoS at March 04, 2012 07:54 PM (ijjAe)

336 371 FOX News is too much Popcorn Conservatism. Which is fun for lefty-bashing entertainment, but when you get down to it, what are their conservative first principles besides a really, really generic patriotism.

Maybe. But at least it's a network that will report the whole story, act as though it consists of Americans who actually like their country, and provide a forum that includes, but is not limited to, conservative voices that should be heard. That's what we really needed, as a counterbalance. True conservatism, we can, as you say, get elsewhere.

414 This is why it's such a shame Newt cdn't keep his nose to the grindstone since December--NO-ONE bats the narrative back at the Dems or media (BIRM) like him: Look at how he exposes that hatchet-faced hack Gregory as the total TOOOOOOL he is: I have to ask you about access to contraception. I realize it’s not at the core of your stump speech, but it is a debate that is certainly highly charged here in Washington and in Congress and on the airwaves. How much damage has this done? Gingrich: I am astonished at the desperation of the elite media to avoid rising gas prices, to avoid the president’s apology to religious fanatics in Afghanistan, to avoid a trillion-dollar deficit, to avoid the longest period of unemployment since the Great Depression, and to suddenly decide that Rush Limbaugh is the great national crisis of the week. There’s no debate about access to contraception. There is a debate, which Cardinal George of Chicago has pointed out is a war against the Catholic Church. You do have this weird situation where President Obama apologizes to Islamic extremists while waging war against the Catholic Church. That’s the language, by the way, of the Catholic bishops. You have an issue here of whether the government can coerce the Catholic Church not just into contraception but into sterilization and abortion, something I don’t find any reporter wants to talk about. You have a president who voted for infanticide as a state senator, who represents the most extreme, pro-abortion position in American, so if you want to have a dialogue about this, David, let’s set the record straight. Barack Obama as a state senator voted to allow doctors to kill babies if they survived the abortion. Barack Obama, as president, in the most radical, anti-religious move made by any president, is trying to coerce the Catholic Church at a time when he’s been told by the bishops . . . they would have to give up every single hospital, they would have to give up every single university and college associated with the church because he is asking them to violate their religious beliefs. If you want a debate over whether or not the president of the United States should be able to impose his views on a religious institution, and whether America’s now a secular country, let’s have that debate. Gregory: Can I just get to my question? Do you think it was harmful that Limbaugh, certainly an influential voice in the conservative grassroots, and you well know that, was it appropriate for him to apologize? Do you think he’s done damage to the debate that you’re now getting into? Gingrich: I think it was appropriate for Rush to apologize. I am glad he apologized. Do you think the president owes an apology to all the men and women in uniform who he frankly abandoned when he apologized to religious fanatics in Afghanistan? What’s your opinion, David? Should the president have apologized to the men and women in uniform that he abandoned? Gregory: Well, I’m going to continue with my questions, so . . . Gingrich: Because if you want to get into a discussion about apologies, I’m happy to discuss it. [LOOOOOOOVED THAT ONE!!] Gregory: So my question, though, is you want the other side to appreciate your view, which is that this is a religious liberty question at the heart of this access to contraception. Can you appreciate the view of those who disagree with you? That this is an attack on women’s rights? That’s their view. Reproductive rights? Access to contraception? And in the extreme, that it’s some sort of war on women? Do you appreciate that view at all? Gingrich: Nobody’s blocking anyone from having access to contraception. No one. The young lady who testified can get access to contraception. Nobody said she couldn’t. The question is should a Catholic institution, or for that matter, the Ohio Christian University, which is a Protestant institution, which is a very pro-life institution, which is now being told it will have to pay for abortion pills. Now, should a Protestant fundamentalist institution be dictated to by Washington politicians over whether or not it can have its own religious beliefs, or have we become a country where it’s okay to go to church on Sunday morning for one hour, but let’s not actually express those beliefs the rest of the week. This is the most fundamental assault on religious liberty in American history despite every effort by the elite media to distort what it’s not. It’s not about access to contraception. People who want to can get access to contraception every day. That young lady can get access to contraception. It is a question about whether or not a religiously affiliated institution should be coerced by the federal government. Gregory: So it seems to me this — in your view — this is actually a pretty fundamental issue. ------

If your "bad credit" is easy to fix, then it's certainly best to clean it up and keep it clean. If it's a black hole of credit suckitude, you might consider going outside the traditional marriage route.....you could be surprised what Medical Powers of Attorney; Wills; General Powers of Attorney; co-ownership; and other such work-arounds can accomplish.

Note -- Better Half and I are well into our third decade....unmarried. There are quirks like paying individual rates for car insurance (which aren't too bad 'cause we're old).....but having an umbrella policy for excess liability that's joint. And getting a multi-policy discount because our homeowners insurance is joint.....

You are unselfish and not vain. People without reflection or real thought about what happens after the wedding dont ask those hard questions and set up so they have the best chance to wheather real world issues when they get started on happily ever after. They just assume they get married and its supposed to happen... Frustrates me. That wedding license is not magic.

462 If you don't go into marriage in an thoughtful and considered way, your very fist impressions of wedded life will be full of disappointments. "Why did my insurance jump? How could we owe more in taxes? Why does a two-bedroom apartment with pets cost more than twice what my old one-bedroom apartment did?"

And that can lead to resentments and stresses that benefit neither of you, and may cause you to chafe at the bonds of love that have drawn you together....when some planning and positioning could have lead to a much better outcome.

I grew up in LA, and "running off to Vegas to get married" was a well-known gambit....but it's a heckuva basis for a lifetime together.

Look at them as long TPS games (25 for the first one and 20 for the second) with RPG trappings. Need to play the first 2 games in the series though. Sometime this week, someone will have them for $5 each for the PC releases and they are totally worth the cash.

If you both make $55K and get married, you are going to get reamed on April 15 -- if one of you makes $10K, and the other makes $100K, you'll wonder why you didn't do it earlier.

Let's be honest, as funny as Rush was...and I did LOL...Rush basically fucked himself.

I like Rush, I really do.  But the dude fucked himself.  He's the man most hated by the left and they look for any reason to attack him so when he calls a whore a slut (and come on, there's a million ways to say that without actually saying it) they got their in and exploited the hell out of it.

It's ridiculous but that's the rotten fucktard culture we live in today, ain't it?  It would have been easier, in a discussion about spending a thousand bucks on a year on whore supplies or whatever ya wanna call 'em, had Rush just played that clip from Clerks.  You know the one.  "My girlfriend sucked 36 dicks!"  "In a row?"  Same point, fewer advertisers bail.

Rush'll bounce back, but he's wounded right now.

LOL things we "think we know".

Kennedy actually won the race based on voter fraud in Chicago and TX.

Yes, the Tet offensive is still broadcast by the MFM as a great defeat for America which is one of those total lies that they have established as objective truth.

I don't think I would call Michael Moore being a liar as an unknown myth.

542 Fox and Friends going all out in pushing Mutt this morning for Super Tuesday. It has been nothing but Mutt Mutt Mutt since they came on.

Turned it over to Morning Joe and it was Mutt Mutt Mutt plus Republicans are stupid from an asshole claiming to be a Republican.

Looks like we can't win this morning.

543 Scarborough thinks the Republicans haven't had this bad a month since 1974 - due to Watergate. Thank You, Rev. Santorum. Thank You, Vulture Capitalist Perry. Thank You, OWS Newt. Anyone But Romney, huh? Well... 5 More Years of ABR, Here We Come. But at least Rev. Santorum will have free contraceptive benefits. So he can Fuck Off and Die.

544 None of them are electable.

Posted by: Vic at March 05, 2012 02:28 AM (YdQQY)

545 @599: Why do you keep saying that, Vic? Why would a mainstream Republican with incredible business ability like Romney not be electable? As opposed to a radical Socialist presiding over this disastrous economy? HE is electible? If Romney can't win, it's because OUR side has decided to putz around with social BS instead of what matters. And because some of us actually prefer Obama to a mainstream Republican like Mitt. What's tearing us down at the moment is... US.

546 I have seen no evidence that he has some incredible ability to help the economy of the US.  In fact, all indications are that he thinks government has a part to play in helping the economy instead of government simply getting out of the way.  IOW he likes big government.

This is supposed to be his strength, it is not. The rest of him is pure weakness. Face it CC, he is a typical NE liberal Republican from the Rockefeller wing. There is a reason he had only 5% support from the Morons here and at HA before the collapse of the candidates.

And do not forget Obama was elected as a Radical Socialist once already.

547 Where we are at now is 2008 all over again. We have allowed the MFM to name our candidate once again and we have got shit.

You and the rest of the Mutt Mushers had best pray that the overall ticket doesn't get drug into the dirt with low turnout, because it will be a Democrat wave election again, just like 2008.

Lets have 50 more GD debates with the MFM hosting them.

548 What's more anyone who thinks Sanatarium is going to ban contraceptives is a damn fool. Even if he wanted to it would be impossible. Unlike abortion there is no ground swell of support to ban contraceptives.

In fact, prior to that incredibly bad SCOTUS ruling on the CT law almost no States prohibited contraceptives.  Even in bible belt GA in my childhood days there were rubbers available in the pharmacies and gas stations.

Personally I think the Supremes used that stupid ruling simply as a stepping stone for Stare Decisis to go after abortion, which a damn lot of people did care about.
