Obama Campaign Demands Romney's Tax Returns From the '80s
Sure the IRS can only go back a mere 7 years, but this is the Light Worker and he will audit your life.
President Obama's re-election campaign is calling on Mitt Romney to release his tax returns dating back to the 1980s, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Meanwhile Doug Ross points out that Obama has yet to release any of the following:
- Tax returns from the 80's
- Tax returns from the 90's
- Occidental College records and transcripts
- Columbia University records and transcripts
- Columbia Thesis paper
- Harvard University records and transcripts
- Medical records
- Illinois State Senate schedule
- Illinois State Senate records
- Law practice client list
- Certified Copy of Original Birth certificate
- Harvard Law Review articles published
- University of Chicago scholarly articles
- Record of Baptism
Of course given his job performance over the last 4 years and other revelations I think we can all pretty much fill in the blanks on these.
James Q. Wilson, America's preeminent social scientist, has noted that until relatively recently, "politics was about only a few things; today, it is about nearly everything." Until the 1930s, or perhaps the 1960s, there was a "legitimacy barrier" to federal government activism: When new policies were proposed, the first debate was about whether the federal government could properly act at all on the subject. Today, there is no barrier to the promiscuous multiplication of programmes, because no programme is really new. Rather, it is an extension, modification or enlargement of something government is already doing.
And then you have this:
When the desirable jobs are spending other peoples' money, reporting on spending other peoples' money and lobbying to spend other peoples' money, then you know that the society is fucked.
Progressives Unclear On How Phones Work
Pro-tip: When you prank call the Koch brothers, don't forget to hang up when your trolling is done.
Tiger 131 Is Back On The Prowl
After a two year restoration German WWII Tiger tank 131 is now operational again - making it the only working Tiger tank in the world. Superior to Allied tanks of the time 1347 Tiger tanks were produced. By comparison the US manufactured over 58,000 Sherman tanks.
NHTSA: You're Driving All Wrong
For decades, the standard instruction was that drivers should hold the steering wheel at the 10 and 2 positions, as envisioned on a clock. This, it turns out, is no longer the case. In fact, driving that way could cost you your arms or hands in particularly gruesome ways if your airbag deploys. Instead AAA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and many driving instructors now say you should grip the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock. A few go even further, suggesting 8 and 4 to avoid the airbag mechanism as much as possible, but what formal research has been published on the varieties of hand positions suggests that this may lessen your control of the car.
Personally I've always found 9:30 and 2:30 to be more comfortable.
Soledad O'Brian's Ratings Crater
Now approaching video podcast ranges:
Executives at CNN must be in shock at the catastrophic implosion of their morning lineup, as Starting Point With Soledad O'Brien (7-9 a.m. weekdays) recorded the cable network's lowest ratings for that time slot in more than a decade. Fewer than 100,000 adults 25-54 tuned in to O'Brien's program on an average day, according to the latest quarterly Nielsen numbers.
Quips Jim Treacher:
Every day, @Soledad_OBrien's ratings are worse than the last. That means every time you see her, it's the worst day of her life
Beer Goggles: How Do They Fucking Work?
It's all about the symmetry - and drunkenness:
Scientists have long known symmetry to be tied to attraction, with a face in which one half mirrors the other seen as an unspoken sign of good genes and good health.
The men and women given the vodka and tonic found it more difficult to work out if a face was symmetrical than those on the soft drinks.
Researcher Lewis Halsey said: 'People that had drink tended to be less good a noticing if a face was asymmetrical, they often saw it as being symmetrical when it was asymmetrical.'
And the women drinkers were particularly bad at the task, the journal Addiction reports.
While others argue that it's really just a case of Beer Standards:
But other research has disputed the phenomenon, with a British concluding that men find women no prettier after drinking.Or, as the Leicester University researchers put it: 'There was no difference - the men were just as undiscerning as ever.'
This week she takes out the gomi.

Or you could be like me and get in a 30 mph T-bone accident (I was the vertical line) and not have the airbag go off. The steering wheel felt awesome on my forehead.

"Since I am hobbit sized and thus have to sit pretty damn close to the steering wheel then when my airbag goes off, well, the odds are pretty fucking good that my chest will get caved in and my face will be shattered. Gee, thanks Feds for making sure that a moderate speed rear end accident will kill me. Appreciate that."

I did ask at the dealer if I could get it disconnected what with the smashing and the shattering and the dying glavin but the dealer wasn't willing to take the liability risk if some non-hobbit person drove it and I'd have to have it reactivated if I ever sell the car.

49 There are a bazillion feast days. You could find the feast of some saint or other on almost any day. If you give up something for lent you could make an exception on sundays, but why do that? I think she wears the boob belts despite her stylists. I firmly believe she is operating under the assumption that they give her the appearance of having a waist. It's the kind of thing they'd have taught in Home Ec or whatever decades ago.
The thing is, she hasn't got a waist. And not because she is fat, she's not. She could die of starvation and never have a waist. She has just got one of those up and down figures, no curves. She should stick with sheaths. She looks good in sheaths.
This Nick outfit was hideous, even by her standards, though. If she had only had that skirt thingee go all the way around, maybe it would have been better. It looked SO tacky to have it stop in front, like it was too small. And her tummy showed, and her pants were too tight; you could see her dang Spanx line.

From Catholic Answers: Lent ends when the evening Mass of the LordÂ’s Supper on Holy Thursday begins, because the Mass of the LordÂ’s Supper ushers in the Holy Triduum, a liturgical season in its own right and the shortest of the liturgical year. As for the Lenten penances, those are voluntary practices that people take up as personal devotions in addition to the penances required by the Church on the Fridays of Lent. As voluntary penances can be voluntarily set aside, taking a break from them on Sundays in honor of the LordÂ’s Day is perfectly fine. That said, the Sundays of Lent are indeed part of the Lenten season.

From a guy I work with who lives in DE and who unfortunately had this clown as his Senator:
“I read over the weekend that a brain surgeon had recently opined that when Biden had his aneurism in 1998, it may have done damage to the frontal lobe which controls one’s ability to control [what] he or she wants to say. In other words, the filter that controls or stops you from blurting out wrong stuff is damaged”.
HeÂ’s still a mockery. And is a heartbeat away from the presidency. Gulp.

Bhwhahaha! Obama's having a bad week!
From the AP:
"WASHINGTON (AP) -- A major donor to President Barack Obama has been accused of defrauding a businessman and impersonating a bank official, creating new headaches for Obama's re-election campaign as it deals with the questionable history of another top supporter.
The New York donor, Abake Assongba, and her husband contributed more than $50,000 to Obama's re-election effort this year, federal records show. But Assongba is also fending off a civil court case in Florida, where she's accused of thieving more than $650,000 to help build a multimillion-dollar home in the state - a charge her husband denies."

that is the funny. ladies are ruthless.
Hey when the MFM relentlessly tries to cram a tasteless, trashy, two-bit huckster down my throat as some sort of style icon and someone I should emulate, you better believe I am ruthless. She is not fashionable, she makes a lot of very poor fashion decisions and constantly dresses younger (and inappropriately for a FLOTUS) than she is. I don't think she is a role model for women or fitness (I honestly think she only works out her arms, which is why she has to walk around sleeveless all the time. The rest of her body is a lumpy, bumpy,
The MFM's efforts to prop her up as the new Blackie O have created a real distate. They don't see the dissonance between Moochelle's expensive designer tastes and the suffering and sacrificies ordinary Americans are going through because of her husband's policies.

Boy, if the AP is saying the crowds were smaller than expected, that's really saying something!
"Thousands of people filled the amphitheater at MiamiÂ’s Bayfront Park Sunday afternoon to demand justice in the death of Trayvon Martin. The attendance fell far short of the 75 thousand predicted by US Rep. Frederica Wilson, organizer of the event, but they missed a spirited rally held under a blazing sun."
Ogabes's going to have to gin up another crisis. The Sandra Fluke Dog and Pony Show fell short and now it seems people may be losing interest in Trayvon.

Right after they taped that episode where the contestents hang out with her at the WH, she went on Vaca to Mt. Rushmore with the girls. Apparently, she and the girls stopped and had fudge and ice cream at a local establisment. So when this Hippocrite starts following her own nutrition admonitions, maybe then she'll have some credibility. Until then, she can kiss my little yellow butt!

FWIW, at the BMW driving school, they told me that 10-2 was obsolete and to keep my hands at 9 and 3 o'clock.

And FWIW, I just took online defensive driving and they instructed the 8 and 4 o'clock positions. Which I thought was kind of strange, and a pretty big change that wasn't widely communicated. That mess that is linked on Drudge is the worst thing I've ever seen on anyone. Why would you wear an extremely loud top that is split open over your GIANT bottom half? I keep expecting Alien to jump out of her fly in that pic.
Moochelle's poor fashion sense has been going on for years. If you ever get a chance, google her in her prom dress. That was butt ugly and kind of slutty too (had a slit up to her ear). Very few of us will ever be in a position to be dressed by the best people in the country. We're sort of horrified by what Michelle Obama's doing to the whole concept.

How large is Mooch's White House entourage, over a dozen paid
employees? You'd think at least one of them would know how a dignified
First Lady should look in public...
What happens when you hire friends and cronies. It's why the entire administration is completely jacked up. No one is qualified to do anything there (look at all the diplomatic gaffes Oblahblah has made with gifts, treatment of dignataries, bowing, etc.) When no one on your staff comes from the private sector, you have a bunch of unprofessional yes men who don't know and don't have the balls to tell you what proper protocol is.

When air bags first came out most Canadian provinces had mandatory seatbelt laws but most U.S. states didn't. So we found that Canadian drivers/passengers were being hurt in car accidents that didn't happen in the States because the air bags were overinflated for belted drivers so newspapers suggested getting the inflation pressure reduced and then the car companies selling here eventually dropped it.

Maybe she doesn't have big hips. Those thunder-thighs on the other hand...
She's got big hips and bigass thighs. Have you seen her from the rear?
I remember pics of her posted on a vaca to the Grand Canyon. She was wearing rather short shorts for a FLOTUS. She totally had cottage cheese thighs. She is not that fit. She does nothing for her bottom half of her body. She only works on the arms. It reminds me of men at the gym who only work on their chest and arms. You never see them doing squats or quad raises or leg press, they only do shoulders, chest and biceps. Their upper bodies are huge and then they have these little bird legs. She only does arms. That's why they are disproportionately more toned than the rest of her body. Even if you are bigger on the bottome as a lot of women are, you can still tone up your thighs. Hers are a jiggly mess.

Actually, current model passenger cars are equipped with energy absorbing bumpers hidden under the polymer fairings. The bumpers are either a plastic grid or dense foam with aluminum reinforcement bars. The idea is that the bumper will take about an 8mph hit before the energy gets transmitted through the passenger compartment.

I care. If she's micromanaging what we can eat and she's fat herself, if she's lecturing us to work out and she doesn't, I care.
And yes, her clothes are not only the ugliest ones any FLOTUS has ever worn, I would bet a paycheck that she spends a ton more money on them and all her ugly ass shoes and accessories than several First Ladies combined. She has ugly, expensive tastes that do not go down well with the American public (hence the need for the Target photo-op). What is that?!
There was a man at the dog park I used to take my dogs to. He evidently had suffered some kind of head trauma at some point, so everyone tried not to have screaming conniptions at him too often. However, this one time, he came into the park wearing extremely short jogging shorts, and a woman's ruffled top, that exposed his pot-belly; my best guess being that it was someone's pregnancy shirt that our "hero" had found in a thrift shop.
We all managed to keep from shrieking and fleeing, and he left after a bit.
One woman, new to the park, turned to one of our nicest young ladies and asked, in a truly awe-struck tone: "What was that?"
The lady replied, after a brief hesitation, "I do not know."

I was waiting for my lane to move, and consulted my rear-view mirror, which converted to the 2 x 7 horror movie.
A car was barreling down the freeway toward me, the driver jacked round in his seat, yelling at his kids, his wife doing much the same.
I groaned, put my truck into neutral and set the parking brake, put my seat all the way back, and took off my glasses.
The 2 x 7 horror movie continued, with the Wife looking up, and doing the full-bore "OH MY GOD!" thing - I could literally read her lips. Hubby snaps round and stomps on the brakes, the car bows to the pavement, the bumper kisses the asphalt, smoke rises....and it stops, rocking and smoking, inches from my back bumper.
I smiled, put my seat forward, resumed my glasses, engaged the gear, and crept gently, gently, down I-10 to my destination.

Also its how the Rock rose to popularity. He started out as a good guy and people just hated his persona. So he went full on heel and was a completely cocky ass, and people started loving him for it. Hell they kept trying to turn him bad guy again after that a few times and it could never stick because the fans didn't care they loved him. I think the only thing that got him negativity was that he had been doing so many movies and he wrestled Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania.

There seems to be some unwritten law that every state must have at least one prominent politician that makes the rest of the country wonder what is wrong with the voters there.

Yes, Che was ruthless and fanatical and sometimes murderous. But was he a murderer? No, not in the sense of a serial killer or gangland assassin. He was one of those rare people who are prepared to push past ethical constraints, even their own conscience, and bring about a greater good by doing terrible things.
Whether morally justifiable or not, there is something admirable in that -- pure principle in a world of shabby compromise. Maybe this is why Che remains such an icon, both in image and idea.[/]

A lot of people knew at the time. Kennedy and his team were just far more vicious and ruthless, and that was rewarded. Despite the reputation he was given, Nixon was too nice for the line of work he was in.

I was once working on an M&A assignment, and the company that we were looking at acquiring thought they had put their speaker phone on mute during one of our countless calls but someone screwed up. They seemed to be surprised at the thoroughness of our questions from that point on and the deal fell through. Too bad.

What pushed a lot of this was when a bunch of insurance companies decided to treat any air-bag deployment as totaling the car, even if the damage was minor, because the assemblies are so costly. Which meant a perfectly usable car needing minor repairs could be acquired for very cheap through the back door of a junkyard and sold for a huge profit if an air-bag assembly could be obtained cheap.
Depends on the model and the damage though. Some are worth far more parted out and this made some wonder if there wasn't some ulterior motive in the insurer's behavior.
Posted by: epobirs at April 01, 2012 08:28 PM (kcfmt)
Heh. Doesn't it make you feel ready to conquer the world? I recently dealt with a car repair that was trivial but I've always had a hell of a time finding similarity between what the shop manual shows and reality. Getting through that made me feel absurdly triumphant.
I don't know why I have such trouble with cars. I've built hundreds of computers in my time.

I had a similar experience in 2006. I was chauffeuring my mother to and from Santa Monica where we were dealing with a dying relative, and discovering the amazingly messy details of his life.
We were headed home one day, in her 2002 Ford Explorer, headed North on the 405 and at a dead stop near the Skirball exit. I looked in the rear view and saw a small sedan approaching at a speed offering no hope of stopping in time. Not having any movement options, I took my foot off the brake and tried to decide if it would help to warn my mother.
The Honda slammed into us at about 35 MPH. We got pushed forward into an Escalade and this left the front license plate impaled on his trailer hitch. It was the kind of thing you'd disbelieve if you saw it in a movie. We cut the engine and checked ourselves out to see if anything hurt. We were fine, although Mom was very upset because this was the third such incident for her in five years. The Explorer was a replacement for the Buick that had been declared totaled after a rear-ending on Balboa in the Valley.
So, we were fine but the Honda, well, the Honda was a demonstration of the crash safety design engineered into it. The crumple zones crumpled very nicely, the airbag deployed, and the driver was alive, although they took to the hospital for examination.
We drove home with a messed up bumper and that was fixed two weeks later. The Explorer is still in service, while that Honda is but a memory.

Modern cars are built on the premise that you could fill the passenger compartment with loosely crumpled balls of aluminum foil and passengers would likely survive anything you did to the vehicle -- past cars were designed to attach the BUMPER to the FRAME in such a way that nothing got closer.

I'm not much of a praying guy, but I've asked for intercession from Whoever and Whatever might listen, and sent concern and well-wishes on my own account as well.
That said, faith is one sphere and science is another, and best outcomes and healing may lie within both. I'm specifically concerned about your statement that you've had several miscarriages. It is heartbreaking that you have faced this more than once, and I can certainly wish you any comfort that faith can bring you.....but that's about regrets and sorrows. Hope and success are more likely found in the scientific sphere.
Identify and use the best secular resources you can. Get good advice. Use technology wisely, and with a prayer that your acts be rightly guided, do what must be done.
I do hope that this crisis shall pass, and that this time you may hold in your arms the happy result of love both natural and sacred. But do not cease to drive and demand from your medical team. Neither you nor God would prefer a baby to have to cling to life by a Miracle, as opposed to the regular order of God and Nature.....so you should continue to try to make sure that Medicine has everything arranged so that God need not intercede.
Be strong, do right, hold tight to what matters -- connections, faith, and science. This connection's support is headed your way.

I've come to the conclusion, the problem with Romney isn't that there aren't those of us who would passionately defend him against said remarks, it's that we just don't care to waste our time, which is precious, defending said remarks to people like you. We can recognize a lost cause when we see it. We understand opportunity costs.
Thus, there exists a perceptual gap; between those number who support Romney and the lack of perceived support because there isn't a consistent presence who is willing to argue with asinine fucktards like yourself. Frankly, the passionate Romney support is the demographic that doesn't care what you say online.
It's like Obama's legion of welfare recipients and dirty OWS hippies; they are perceived as omnipresent. They have an outsized impact because they have nothing else to fucking do in their lives but bitch and moan, 24/7: online, outside offices, in libraries, in the parks, etc.
But there exists a more silent majority that's sick of the current trend, still has a sense of perspective -- unlike yourself, and will accept and sweep a republican like Romney into power.
Get over yourself.

I've come to accept belly button piercings to a degree. If it's a small enough stud and she has a great body, it only looks a little trashy. Usually it's just wildly trashy.

My rant in counterpoint --
WTF is wrong with women that they think there's anything more beautiful than women? "I've got to rub myself up against a pretty rock"; "I've go to have some metal pretzel attached to me"; "I have to conceal my numerous flaws." -- ARE YOU ALL JUST FUCKING DERANGED??????

during a breakup some guy pointed out those flaws and made her feel like thats why he was rejecting her. other girls may point them out to her, to make themselves feel better than her, Mom may have awkwardly made it worse by "helping." Ads show anorexic, boob jobbed, hair dyed, made up photoshopped airbrushed women as ideals.
Result: insecure woman who doesnt think she is enough. even if shes stunning and in great shape.

This world *is* hard on girls.....from highly motivated assholes, bitches, and misogynists. I've got X and Y chromosomes -- if a comely young lass chirpily tells me that 1 and 1 make two, I'm inclined to go along......so politicos have to brand her as a whore or an idiot; other women have to "prove" that she doesn't speak for womanhood; and cranks have to marginalize her........even if, by wild chance, 1 and 1 actually do add up to 2.
