Newsweek (and Obama) Jumps The Rainbow

firstgaypresident_obama

Okay at this point it's well known that Newsweek columnist Andrew Sullivan is a single-issue writer/kook - everything revolves around gay marriage. And he will rearrange entire worldviews, logic systems, and even his own memories to always make it so that support for gay marriage is the 'conservative' choice.

But how did this crap ever get past the editors to make it to the cover of a major 'serious' news magazine? The very fact that Newsweek would let a crank like Andrew Sullivan write a front-page story for them shows how far the overvalued-at-$1 magazine has fallen.

Sad.

Washington Post Ombudsman Admits They're Shameless Hacks

In response to suspicions that their story on Romney's 1965 'gay bullying' was a weakly sourced story (it contained a quote from a dead man) and was timed to help the Obama campaign:

That's a fallacious appeal to authority. Just because David Maraniss had a hand in it and a committee of liberals handed him a trophy does not make this story factual or fair. Walter Duranty won a Pulitzer too.
If I were an editor I might have sped it up a little, too, to take advantage of the national discussion on gay marriage. Does that mean Post editors are timing stories with the White House? I hope not, and I doubt that is the case.

But he didn't pick up the phone and ask them, so deep is his curiosity on the subject. Pitiful.

The accusation that the Post times a big story to assist a president in the midst of a re-election battle is kind of a big deal. It's an accusation that the Post is engaged in partisan propaganda, not journalism. It's worth looking into.

Merida said they held the printed version for a day because they didn't want it clashing with the Thursday front page coverage of Obama changing his mind on gay marriage."It just happened to coincide with the time when President Obama made his statement. We factored it in and that was the decision not to run it in print on Thursday," Merida told me.

It just happened to coincide.. Sure.

The Post's ombudsman thinks we're stupid.

Unclear on the Concept - Part Deux

Being a Socialist leader means you get to inflict Socialism on other people:

"Socialist Hollande owns three homes on the Riviera," according to the London Evening Standard. "Francois Hollande, 57, who 'dislikes the rich' and wants to revolutionise his country with high taxes and an onslaught against bankers, is in fact hugely wealthy himself."

If the United States Was a Movie...

This would be its trailer. And I'd actually be lured out of the lighthouse to go see it.

Books Every man Must Read - Part Two

  1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  2. The Republic by Plato
  3. Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
  4. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
  5. The Kentucky Derby is Decadent &
    Depraved
    by Hunter S. Thompson

Well as is usual I've only read 1.5 of these. Luckily HST's essay on the Kentucky Derby is available online so I should be able to bump my score up to 2.5 fairly easily.

Ford To Start Making Cars Out of Money

Well not the whole thing but pieces of it:

As part of an ongoing effort to find sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based vehicle components, the Michigan-based multinational automaker is looking to re-use retired dollar bills in the manufacture of trays and bins, in the same way wheat straw is currently used in the Ford Flex.

The Best Time to Get Lucky?

Well according to scientists - top scientists! - your best shot is at 11pm on Saturday night since that's when women's sexual appetite peaks.

There's a time and a place for sex, and latest research suggests for women their desire peaks at 11pm on a Saturday night - the venue TBC.

The finding is just of the statistics to emerge from a nationwide study investigating the truth behind female libido.

The next best time - Thursday mornings.

18 Can't wait to see the contortions the lefty MSM (but then I repeat myself) go through to distance the First Gay President from all the gayness, while not appearing bigoted themselves.  Preparing for lots of whiplash.

The lefties always go too far. And especially the gay mafia.  Give an inch, they take a mile.  They just can't help themselves.  On top of it all, some people will think Time is reporting that Zero is actually gay.  Which he probably is, but I don't think Time meant to out him.

Popcorn time.

21 GREENSBORO -- David Parker, the besieged state Democratic Party chairman, said Saturday that he would remain in his post after the partyÂ’s ruling committee voted not to accept his resignation. In doing so, Parker defied pressure from party leaders from Washington to Raleigh to step aside because of the concern that his handling of sexual harassment accusations by a staffer would damage the partyÂ’s efforts in the fall. In a day filled with high drama and at times chaos and anger, Parker first tendered his resignation in an emotional speech to the state Democratic Executive Committee. He left the hotel to clean out his office in Raleigh, only to return hours later to announce that he would remain as chairman.

Hollande doesn't "hate the rich", he loves power.  The power to command and re-distribute wealth.  Especially wealth that he hasn't earned.  It was the biggest con game of the 20th century.  And it is still going strong.  Besides the wealth and potential it has squandered, it has probably been responsible for killing millions in Europe and Asia.

Fraternity! Equality! Liberty!

It sounds better in French, but to me it sounds like bullshit.  The guy is a well - dressed looter, and that's what the French voted for.  Of course, he has a lot in common with Jerry Brown of California, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Chuck Schumer of New York, and a host of other politicians.  And especially the SCOAMF, Barack Hussein Obama.

So, who does he think he should have married? Apparently not Michelle.

And how is 1.5% of the population voting for him going to get him a second term?

I'm always amazed at how very, very stupid some people can be. You wanna be gay, by all means do so. You wanna run for president, you better pick your perversions a little more carefully.

So, today's campaign fire-- really, the first real controversy-- is that my candidate is not going to vote to uphold DOMA.  His reason?  The Constitution is silent on the issue of marriage.  It's a states issue.

I don't think they were so worried about that miniscule voting block but more about getting money from that block.  Which is likely more substantial than their numbers.  Afterall you can have quite a bit of spending money if you don't have kids.

Well, I know she is offensive, and I also know she is not proud of her country, so it isn't much of a stretch to realize that here Baraky being gay is just another annoyance. So long as that witch gets to fly around the world living high on our dollar, she probably doesn't give it a second thought. She is as greedy and grasping as her erstwhile hubby.

If you were to imagine these Marvel heroes modelled as characters in a role-playing game, like a real pencil-and-paper game, you could build them all on about the same number of points.  For Champions, they're all about 750 points, or a little more than twice as powerful as a "standard" hero in that game.

Smith does a lot of things really really poorly; like not know how to end movies well.  The ending of "Chasing Amy" was such absolute would-never-fucking-happen garbage that only having Ben Affleck portrayed as a complete asshole made it tolerable for a very bad reason.  "Dogma" was one of the biggest fucking wastes of my time I've ever endured.  Even watching "Clerks" a second time, when I knew what to expect as far as situations went so they lost their humorous shock value, revealed what a poorly made movie it was.  I can see no way that he wouldn't make an complete disaster of a JLA movie.

It's like Hillary is trying to torpedo O's second term (paybacks) Either that or Romney made a deal with Soroe and the NWO gang, because no one could possibly run a campaign as stupid as this. It's like when I drank I thought everyone in the bar got blind drunk like I did. Same thing with these Chicago local yocals. 212 Romney could now run as a Socialist without having to worry about his standing on the right.

This is what we forget, and it's good to get a reminder: our enemies on the left aren't supermen, aren't genius conspirators playing four-dimensional chess. They're idiots. They believe idiotic things, they come up with idiotic policies, and sometimes their idiocy trumps their long-accumulated political savvy.

The current crop of Democrats aren't the old streetwise machine pols. They're grad-student lounge liberals and "activists" who don't know anything. Their media wing is all "professional journalists" who really know absolutely nothing.

We should be of good cheer, fill our hearts with hope and faith, and carry on the fight with courage and confidence. This bunch of idiots can't destroy America.

Why not label the media Democrats?

Everyone knows the media are overwhelmingly liberal and Democrat.   New York Times Democrat (NYTD)! Associated Press Democrat (APD)!  CBSD! ABCD! 60 Democratic Minutes! ....
It's important that readers and viewer know thier information is coming not from an impartial observer but from the point of view of the Democratic Party.  The issue is not thier bias but the pretense that they are objective.

My wife and I just watched Cinderella Man.  Pretty good flick.  I checked Braddock and his manager, Gould, out on wiki.  Turns out they went in the army during WWII.  I found some interesting stuff.  Please forgive the copy and paste.

1) As Braddock's manager, Gould negotiated as part of the deal for Louis' title shot 10% of Louis' future purses. Mike Jacobs, who represented Louis, believed he would be able to talk his way out of the contract at a later date, but it is a little-known fact that Braddock and Gould became relatively rich men even after Braddock lost the title because of this deal.

2) Gould enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942, and rose to the rank of First Lieutenant, accidentally shooting Sergeant John Bender during a photo op in which he and Braddock did rifle calesthenics. He was dismissed from the Army and sentenced to three years hard labor after a court martial in 1944 for conspiracy to accept bribes.

295 I don't care if Downey donates money to Obama. That's his decision. I like his movies, and I'm willing to pay (matinee prices) to see them. If some infinitesimal fraction of my ticket price winds up in Obama's war chest, well, fat lot of good it'll do him. Every time some liberal tanks up their SUV some miniscule percentage goes to oil company PACs which support Romney. It evens out.

I don't care about Downey donating money because he doesn't try to tell me how to vote. He doesn't issue press releases stating his "position" on issues. He doesn't write guest editorials trading on his fame. And most importantly, his movies don't include snide little seat-kicking "jokes" about conservatives or Republican politicians.

I don't mind if a man disagrees with me. That's his right as an American. But I won't support someone who shows contempt for me.

One of my literature profs had us read several passages from different translators to get a sense of just how important your translator is ...

Obama has been so helpful to gay rights (NOT).

Has Obama actually done anything for Gay rights and LGBTS like actually signing the Executive Order that is on his desk?

How about requesting Congress to repeal DOMA?

All he has done is mouth a few words about his "evolving" position and metaphorically sucked blew in the ears of a few gays in exchange for a large amount of campaign contributions from the gay rights crowd.

415 Obama will be compelled to attack Newsweek and crush Sullivan.

Think about the foreign affairs implications of that cover for a moment.  In one fell swoop these asshats just damaged his ability to engage with largely Catholic and Muslim countries -- Iran being the most important at the moment.

Internally, the Iranian press will have a field day with this painting Obama as spaz who should be put on the gallows with all the other gays in Iran.  All his credibility and negotiating position have been irreparably compromised.

No sitting president can allow the domestic media to compromise their ability to deal with the affairs of the nation...particularly when it involves trying to handle a hostile nation in the process of developing nuclear weapons.

Newsweek delenda est.

It may take the administration a few days to realize how hard Newsweek just fucked them, but they'll figure it out eventually, and the response will have to be harsh and ugly.

There's already backlash among black pastors who were Obama supporters.  They can't tell people who to vote for (or they'd lose their tax exempt status), but they're now telling people to "vote their conscience" with the obvious implication being people shouldn't vote for Obama.

I expect to see a suppressed black turnout over this and the huge unemployment among blacks.  They may not vote for Romney, but a lot may just stay home.

The more nonsensical the metaphors and adjectives, the harder Christopher Buckley's dick gets.

I made a comment at Breitbart about the WaPo shenanigans because some d'bag was spouting nonsense.

I wrote this in reply and got 655 likes. (an all time record for any comment of mine where they can be "liked")

Plus there where numerous comments of "Amen" etc and THEY were all flagged to about 100 each.

The guy I responded to? His comment was flagged and removed for review. Heh.

I pray they don't pull some shite and steal this election. I think if they do, this country will explode. (and not in courts like the lefties did over Algore.)

Here's my comment about WaPo:

Got lost on your way to #OccupyMyMom'sBasement?

Please go somewhere else where your ignorance and childish petulance is lauded and applauded by like minded (I use that term loosely) commenters.

YOUR golden boy is a pandering felonious liar who hates America, hates it's people and is too arrogant to realize he's the failure. He'll be gone in November and we'll be working hard to repair the damage he and his ilk have done but we'll never forget the media's calumny and borderline treasonous lies that they promulgate for the sole purpose of getting the crypto-marxist re-elected.

They will pay and so will the left.

Really?  The guy is a freakin' legend.  The whole blues brothers schtick was a just a revival of Duck Dunn grooves.  Every thing he ever did was tight, solid, danceable, and inventive.  Even his simple licks are so smooth they are hard to master.  A mediocre player can fake them pretty fast, but to play them with the class and precision he had is a challenge.

524 The editors of Newsweek are such idiots...first gay president?  What about James Buchanan?

Posted by: imoilurh2o at May 14, 2012 03:15 AM (Hy+/8)

525 James Buchanan most likely wasn't really queer.  He had been engaged but his fiance broke it off before dying.  He was also known to have a few dalliances with various ladies.

His relationship with Alabama Senator William Rufus King?   Creepy, but probably wasn't homosexual.

Posted by: Robert at May 14, 2012 03:32 AM (4ixH5)

526 If, regarding marriage, Obama's evolutionary revisionism would substantiate no "difference" between being straight or being homosexual, then his marriage and his sexuality are as open as his definition. Being married and fathering children hardly qualifies a gay man as being straight. Bisexual, yes. And certainly not the first EXCEPT in the White House.

President Buchanan, bachelor, was engaged to Anne C. Coleman but she died before they were married.  /551.  Scrooge was not gay, either.

Posted by: Words, just words. at May 14, 2012 03:39 AM (lpWVn)

527 Buchanan was the last pre-Civil War president. His time in office was filled with handling the increasingly contentious sectionalism of the time. The Confederate States of America were created while he was President after Abraham Lincoln was elected in November, 1860. He did not take an aggressive stance at all against the states that seceded and instead attempted reconciliation without war.

Quotes:

"The distribution of patronage of the Government is by far the most disagreeable duty of the President."

"Abstract propositions should never be discussed by a legislative body."

"The ballot box is the surest arbiter of disputes among freemen."

"There is nothing stable but Heaven and the Constitution."

"What is right and what is practicable are two different things."

"Liberty must be allowed to work out its natural results; and these will, ere long, astonish the world."

"Whatever the result may be, I shall carry to my grave the consciousness that I at least meant well for my country."
