Okay this is old (from 2008 ) and shamelessly stolen from Hot Air but it's still worth posting.
Watching it will probably make you wish for SMOD, a shorter Mayan calendar and/or a speedup of the Iranian nuke program. When the first girl explains why she stole the money I couldn't help but think this must be an outtake from Idiocracy - but no these are real people and this actually happened. Bonus points if you can guess the state without checking. Or what would become of them.
On the slightly positive side they are honestly dishonest without bothering with the usual whining and BS excuses and truly seemed confused why they couldn't keep the money since they were being punished for stealing it anyway. At least they steal using the old fashioned working-with-your-hands way rather than the modern scamming people and suckling off the teat of government while wallowing in victimhood method.
In many ways it's easier to fix a society with girls like this than one with a large underclass of passive, infantilized non-criminals.
Oh and meet your new ONT Girlfriend: Celia Alchemy Savage
Her hobbies are guns and blowing stuff up along with posing in lingerie. Alas the ATF and FBI just don't appreciate chicks like Celia.
Savage allegedly told an FBI agent she has made up to seven pipe bombs as 'manufacturing explosive devices and detonating them for recreation was her hobby', an ATF report noted. She added that she likes to blow up toilets in the woods, as a video uploaded to YouTube shows. Her father Tommy confirmed she appeared in the video, Channel 2 reported.
.But her father said Savage should not have been arrested for her collection of dangerous weapons and explosives, and insisted her destructive attitude is healthy.
Bonus points again if you can name the state without looking.
Anachronisms that aren't actually anachronistic
What's old is new on MTV.
"Fly" mentioned above is one of my favorites (though it's considered dated by youngsters today -- they'll basically only use it ironically), but one not mentioned so is "crib" (also a bit dated) which has meant something like "house" or "home" since 1600. OED: "A small habitation, cabin, hovel; a narrow room; fig. a confined space. In N.Z. now esp. a small house at the seaside or at a holiday resort."
And so's yo Snakespearian mamma:
Demetrius: "Villain, what hast thou done?"
Aaron: "That which thou canst not undo."
Chiron: "Thou hast undone our mother."
Aaron: "Villain, I have done thy mother."
John Nelson of IDV Solutions put 56 years worth of tornadoes on a map. John plotted each tornado's path and used brightness for its F-scale (level of intensity). He also added secondary charts for deaths and injuries and frequency by F-scale.
It makes a gorgeous map.
Okay I can see why Oklahoma is known for its twisters but what's up with northern Louisiana?
I think this chart is supposed to make Americans feel bad. But note that nearly all of the countries listed have parliamentary systems where the party picks local candidates - so no primaries. Here in the US anyone - male, female, inter-sex, confused, and the involuntarily asexual - can run for Congress if they want to. And if a lower percent of women choose to run and/or manage to get elected, that's ultimately a reflection of people's true wishes.
An Appreciation of The "Home Phone"
I still have a home land line and one of these old school MaBell murder-weapon phones. Because it looks kinda retro cool but mainly because it requires no power to operate which is useful in the event of an earthquake or other natural disasters. But with better cell networks and solar chargers that benefit is fading away.
The 5 Most Diabolical Crimes Planned and Executed by Kids
Including a 14 year old SWATing hacker:
Matthew Weigman was born legally blind, which, as you know from Daredevil, meant he developed superhuman hearing to compensate. If you don't see how a sightless childhood could be turned into a life of sophisticated crime, you're apparently not aware of phone hacking. Thanks to his uncanny hearing, Weigman was able to memorize phone numbers just by listening to the dial tones. He could also perfectly mimic people's voices, which allowed him to gather personal data from companies like Verizon and AT&T by copying the voices of supervisors.
.This might all sound fairly harmless, but Matthew upped the ante by using his unique telephone skills for something called "swatting." Basically, that means he would fake calls to the police in order to have SWAT teams converge on the homes of his enemies.
And it was as simple as using his phone hacking skills to make the call look like it was coming from the home of the person he was targeting. Then he would make wild claims about hostage situations that would draw the vans full of guys in black suits with machine guns. If that actually does sound kind of like a funny prank to play on a buddy, keep in mind that one of his victims was the father of a girl he knew who was targeted because she refused to have sex with him.
Heh: Madonna Still a Hypocritical Bitch
Which might not have been so bad except that Madonna still does all of her typical shit, so the night is filled with wild swings of hypocrisy that she doesn't even think twice about.- The show opened with a silhouette of Madonna on her knees in prayer, wearing a crown and tunic reminiscent of Joan of Arc or the Virgin Mary, and while the male dancers who were dressed as monks take their robes off, Madonna points an AK-47 at the crowd.
- Madonna says we should treat all religions with dignity and respect.
- During the song "Revolver", Madonna and her dancers point guns at the audience while the screen behind them shows huge images of empty bullet casings falling to the ground.
- Madonna tells the crowd, "It's easy to say we want peace in the world, it's another thing to do it."
- During the song "Gang Bang", which is about her ex-husband Guy Richie, she sings "bang bang, shot you dead, shot my lover in the head" and fights with someone all in black with a white collar (a priest?), then shoots him in the head. The massive video screen behind her is then covered with splattered blood.

All youse who yammer on about how the left doesn't get it that the right is armed?
uh...... they're armed. I felt like I saw my future attackers in person today.
And leaving the store? the meth head was sitting within 20 feet of my car. He saw my purchase. He followed me out. Time for ccp. Mace isn't gonna work long term.
The left will be apoplectic after this win. Count on it.

Knowing that you fall into the top 5% of those tested is nice. Taking the other test and then finding out you don't fall into the top 2% is something else.
So, I suppose it was vanity that kept me from taking it.

The committee's ranking Democrat, Rep. Elijah Cummings (Md.), however, said Issa was mischaracterizing the nature of the wiretap authorizations, and DOJ responded by questioning how Issa obtained materials that were under seal by a federal court.
Issa said he recently reviewed six wiretap applications approved by top DOJ officials indicating that they knew about, and should be held responsible for, not stopping the most controversial aspect of the botched gun-tracking operation.
In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday, Issa stated that a “remarkable” and “immense” amount of detail was contained within the applications about the tactics of “gun-walking” — letting guns go into the hands of known or suspected criminals — that were used in Fast and Furious.

There are strategic reasons that we don't have to go after him. He may actually be done before the primary. It's also possible that our other opponent is going to be done, too.
And Andy, I'm so glad he made a decent impression in Dover. He's got great personal charisma and he's a very relatable guy. He has a heroic personal story, and his issues are about 95% conservative. But like a star athlete in high school who can excel at any sport due to being gifted athletically, he's gotten along without being a disciplined "politician." This is actually preferable in everyday life, but we're working to get him to stick to the stump speech.

1) No shit.
One third of union households still supported Walker? WTF?
Is the GOP holding their loved ones in a dark cave at gunpoint, or are 1/3 of union households really that fucking stupid?
Unfortunately, it looks so close, that when Nickolaus finds those 15,000 votes on her old ipod in the bathroom in her office under the toilet paper, the election will be lost for Barrett.
2)
1/3 of union households and most of Wisconsin voters are really that fucking stupid. They either don't remember much beyond the last commercial they saw or they believe that R = Jesus and D = Muslim Atheist and no what idiot's name is beside that R and no matter how much that idiot screws them, they'll keep on voting for Jesus.

The actress was charged on Tuesday with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in relation to her April 6 arrest, in which she was accused of sideswiping a police car while attempting to make a right hand turn. The arrest occurred at 3 a.m. in West Hollywood and Bynes allegedly refused to take a Breathalyzer or drug test at the scene of the accident.
The April 6 incident is one of many driving-related woes the starlet has faced as of late. In recent weeks, Bynes has been spotted backing over a curb while texting, holding up traffic while attempting a three-pointed U-turn and sideswiping another vehicle.

Amanda Bynes actually was a darned good comedic actress, even without the best material to work with. Obviously things have gone south the last few years. I seem to remember that a couple of years ago she announced that she was leaving show business. She should have stuck to that and left town. She's racing to catch up to Lindsey Lohan, but that's one she'll never win.

- The show opened with a silhouette of Madonna on her knees in prayer, wearing a crown and tunic reminiscent of Joan of Arc or the Virgin Mary, and while the male dancers who were dressed as monks take their robes off, Madonna points an AK-47 at the crowd.
- Madonna says we should treat all religions with dignity and respect.

So... Madonna's no different than the liberal idiots that fill my facebook feed: mixing messages of love and tolerance with "evil Republicans must die!"

I've been doing that all night. I am really happy I took tomorrow off. Tomorrow I will visit Brady St. in Milwaukee, the old hippie epicenter in the '60's and sit on a bench and bask in all the elderly hippie tears. It's the second best thing to being in Madison. Man, I'm happy. If you don't live in Wisconsin, you have no idea what a madhouse this state has been for the past 18 months. I delight in their defeat.

hey Cooth im here.
i have been not so much on the computer in the evenings, due to real life. for a while i had house guests. it was pretty funny. Grimmy met someone who was an ex from 22 years ago (since married and become a fat old man but much beloved) Grim and he got on like peanut butter and jelly and i love the new wife! it was hilarious. they stayed for five days. Now Grimmy knows why i can take care of him. I did this decades ago, with a man just like him (who i was too dumb to keep) but with a man even bigger and wilder. I was super happy because this pal is like a dad to him now, and hes gained a confidant that GETS HIM, that he can absolutely trust.
And most wonderfully, howard pinged me to let me know hes alive. NO info, but pinged that hes alive, so im happy about that.
my shoulder is finally better and my knee too. just starting to think about riding again, and working colts. Then the transmisson blew up in the new car.
i have been calling it a Rosanne Rosannadanna couple weeks-- its always gotta be something.
Oh, and my pudding for the night was dark chocolate. Just so you know.
and that dear friends, especially Cthulhu, is what Gushies gone up to. (incomplete version)

Everybody passed out, huh? Where's CAC to stomp on the ONT?
Anyway, Titus Andronicus usually gets poor reviews from critics. I think that it was one of Shakespeare's best plays. It simply needs to be under-acted or done very subtly to avoid the extreme situations.
Anthony Hopkins' version rocked.

I agree. A lot of folks over the centuries don't realize that Titus Andronicus was a black comedy like the Scream movies (although better). The body count gets so inflated that the bodies are literally piled on top of eachother. The audience would have been expected to laugh.

News from the consulting world: every so often, you walk away from a meeting with your client and mutter "DANDA" to your fellow consultants. Comes from Kubler-Ross' five stages -- Denial, Anger, Negotiation, Depression, Acceptance. The mutter is a shortcut for "the client isn't doing anything useful, they're just adapting to the new reality."

sigh.
oh well. so the horses all got a month vacay, and i got a reminder not to be too clever for my own good and try shortcuts, even will my best behaved colt.
My kid's just about got my new kitten Jellybean weaned. i cant wait to get her vaccinated and over here. i think three indoor kitties are enough. Grim rolls his eyes, but he helped pay the vet bills on her as a very sick kitten, so he agrees we PAID for her, shes mine.

well that brings me to the most encouraging thing of all. MY Very Best Client In The World, who just happened to incorrectly think he was a socialist because he was raised on a Kibbutz, by communists, made a confession to me tonight.
he voted for Ron Paul. Seems his work with the FAA and the subsequent contact with the admin types from the Govt has totally soured him on those fellow travelers. He also announced hes retiring and going Galt for sure. He lectured me because i didnt vote today (we are in cali, so REALLY?) and then took me out to dinner to tell me that this unmanned drone shit has got to stop. Its weird. hes had a total "road to Damascus" type conversion.

I do work with a generally apolitical (and political dolt) who votes Dem because Mom and Dad did. She surprised me by announcing the other day that she would vote for Walker because she was so disgusted by the Madison crybabies. I don't think that means she would vote for Romney. However, it's 6 months until the national election. If Obama continues his reverse Midas touch (everything he touches turns to shit), even low-info voters might vote for Romney.

I'm from Arizona. I lived in Illinois for law school and moved back to AZ. It is nice to live in a place where the government does look at its citizens as millions of unruly children in need of the guiding hand of some Valerie Jarret/Anita Dunn/Bloomberg-style nanny. Although, truth be told, we do have a state-wide smoking ban in in bars and restaurants which is philosophically troublesome but practically nice as a non-smoker.

Yes, in this race, but they outspent Prosser and the State Senate recalls. The MSM is referring to the Barrett campaign which only existed for a few months. That doesn't include outside groups operating on their own like the SEIU that have been operating in Wisconsin for 17 months.

Anent WI senate district 21: The Racine County elections site tinyurl.com/3fcx3yw has Lehman leading Wanggaard by 779 votes, 36255 to 35476, but that's with *zero votes* from "V. WATERFORD WDS 1-7" which I'm guessing is Village of Waterford wards 1-7. (The Racine Journal-Times website tinyurl.com/7let53v gives the same numbers "with all precincts reporting" but that seems to be incorrect.) Seeing as Gov. Walker and Lt. Gov. Kleefisch carried "V. WATERFORD" by margins of 854 and 807 votes, respectively, I predict that Wanggaard wins by a couple dozen votes. Needless to say, the Democrat will win the recount.

Prop 28 Limits on Legislators' Terms in Office -- which actually increases the time that can be served in each house, has passed easily. Welcome to another decade of one party rule in the Golden State.
Prop 29 Tax on Cigarettes for Cancer Research -- an additional $1 a pack in addition to all the other taxes, is neck and neck.
