Hey Let's Have a National Maximum Wage

A modest proposal from Gawker's Hamilton Nolan:

Let's have a maximum annual income of, oh, $5 million, pegged to inflation. All income above that would be taxed at 99 percent. Our precious national sports stars, celebrities, and corporate executives could still be fabulously wealthy. The daydreaming poor could still have a nice big number about which to hopelessly dream. Five million dollars a year. Five million! Anyone with $5 million can invest it conservatively enough to earn 5 percent a year and still be making $250K per year without lifting a finger. In other words, $5 million provides you with the means to live as a member of the one percent without ever touching the principal. It's everything that any reasonable person could ask for, financially speaking.

Hey Let's Impose a 75% Tax on 'the Rich'

That's the plan of new French president, François Hollande, to make the rich pay their 'fair share'.

The call to Vincent Grandil's Paris law firm began like many others that have rolled in recently. On the line was the well-paid chief executive of one of France's most profitable companies, and he was feeling nervous.

President François Hollande is vowing to impose a 75 percent tax on the portion of anyone's income above a million euros ($1.24 million) a year. "Should I be preparing to leave the country?" the executive asked Mr. Grandil.

Unsurprisingly there's now an exodus of French companies and executives to London.

Hey Let's Nationalize Facebook

This time from Philip Howard of Slate:

Over the last several years, Facebook has become a public good and an important social resource. But as a company, it is behaving badly, and long term, that may cost it.

...By "nationalizing Facebook," I mean public ownership and at least a majority share at first. When nationalizing the company restores the public trust, that controlling interest could be reduced. There are three very good reasons for this drastic step: It could fix the company's woeful privacy practices, allow the social network to fulfill its true potential for providing social good, and force it to put its valuable data to work on significant social problems.

Slow Joe - One Heartbeat Away

And note that most of the claims Joe made during his infamous 'I have a higher IQ than you' rant weren't even true.

The 'Solyndra' as a Unit of Measurement for Wasted Government Money

Which really helps put everything in perspective:

What gave me the idea was something in a posting by Moe Lane on Romney's trip to Jerusalem, where he wrote: "President Obama did best, with his ever-so-sudden $70 million funding of Israeli missile defense (that's about .14 solyndras*)". So, how about the $535 million in Solyndra loan guarantees be rechristened as equaling one "solyndra"? This way, the bridge to nowhere would have cost three-quarters of a solyndra ($398 million), the direct Defense Department costs of the Iraq war were 1,416 solyndras, annual farm subsidies are 43 solyndras, the annual budget of the Commerce Department is 15 solyndras, and so on.

Unless someone else claims it Moe Lane deserves all the credit for this one.

Meet the Wall Buster

British company BCB invented The Wall Breaker, a non-explosive, compressed air cannon which fires standard plastic water cooler drums to breach walls, gates and doors for rapid quick entry. It can be fired every 10 to 15 seconds. The water jugs can be filled with water, sand, or other materials.

The firm have already sold the system to security forces and the military in a number of countries including the USA and Thailand.

Okay but I'd like to see its effect on a real structural wall before I buy one.

"We didn't know what 90 percent of the switches did"

The US has long had an entire squadron dedicated to flying potential enemy aircraft including pretty much every model of the MiG.

"In 1985 we had 26 MiGs -- MiG-21s and MiG-23s. We had had MiG-17s originally but phased them out early, and by the end of the program we still had more MiG-21s than anything else.

"The pilots were Aggressors or Fighter Weapons School or Top Gun instructors. Most were majors, a few captains, with 2000-3000 hours. We didn't have to worry about the pilots. "They were all comfortable with themselves. They weren't proud of themselves for beating up on an F-4. The goal was not to beat them up, you'd beat them up on day one - that was a given."

For the students, it was "a Sunday-Friday course. By the end of a week, we wanted people to be able to kill a MiG the first time that you saw him."
On the MiG-21: "It had no gas - a point-defense fighter.
"We didn't know what 90 percent of the switches did. We changed the ASI and parts of the oxygen system. We had one switch that we just labeled BOMB EXPLODE.

"It was fun to fly. You could see out pretty well. The limitations included the throttle - there were two rpm gauges, and if you got them too far apart, and to 80 percent rpm, it would take you 17 seconds to get military power. When you flew it a long time you found a little notch that was there to remind you not to do that.

..."It was a great aircraft to fight if you wanted to fight slow - maybe not against an F-18. You're at 120 knots and still pointing at him and all he's looking at is your nose. you get down to 80 knots, dump the nose, go to 120 and from 30 deg nose low to 40 deg nose high and you didn't go up, but the other guy goes 'holy smokes, here he comes'." Evasive action against this deceptive maneuver often put the unwary student inside the MiG-21's weapon envelope.

Maj. Thomas Drake's MiG-23MS Flogger E, "Red 49," (USAF serial 20). WHEN HE FINALLY LEFT THE UNIT, DRAKE REMARKED THAT THE MIG-23 HAD TRIED TO KILL HIM ON every sortie. With 294 sorties in the interceptor, he was the 4477th TESs most experienced Flogger pilot of all time. Note the "battleship gray" glass paint and the curious pentagon-shaped emblem on the nose. Tonight's post brought to you by a very Maetenloch Christmas list:

my_xmas_list_edited

My grandmother died a few months ago and so my mother has been going through her scrapbooks and found this. I'm guessing this was from when I was 12 or 13 years old - still very much a geek but starting to care about impressing girls. This was from the period when I discovered the family typewriter and began sending out funny memos and 'newsletters' to friends and family - kinda an early analog version of blogging. Apparently my grandmother thought my entirely reasonable and helpful list was funny enough that she saved it all these years.

27 New government program: let's attract the world's rich people. Give them easy visas once they prove their richness, low tax rates, especially capital gains, make it really easy for them to start new businesses. In short, kiss their rich asses to the extent of enticing them here and then getting the hell out of their way as much as is humanly possible. We'll be doing the French a favor, and all those who hate the rich.

Bet this program would have a better economic effect than 10 stimulus programs the size of Obama's.

29 I saw two disturbing things in SF today. Both involve hobos. First, there was a particularly useless hobo at the Caltrain station. He was lazy and inattentive when going through the trash cans looking for loot. He gave up way too easy when begging for stuff (although he was polite), and he searched trash cans only 2 minutes after his initial search. On other days I have seen hobos go through a trash can like Marines slaughtering Taliban. What happened to quality control? Second, apparently hobos have a trading network in place and some hobos are like trading posts for other hobos.

What’s a surprise is that Newsweek printed it and on the front cover, to boot. As Drudge Report put it – a [Brown] Bites”.

Perhaps ObamaÂ’s no longer cool in ManhattanÂ… he'll still win NY, but that's going to hurt him in Maine, NH, Florida and the upper Midwest.

Statement by the President on the Occasion of Eid-al-Fitr

Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to Muslim communities in the United States and around the world as they celebrate Eid-al-Fitr. For Muslims, Ramadan has been a time of fasting, prayer and spiritual renewal. These past four weeks have also been a time to serve the less fortunate -- a reminder of the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other.

In the United States, Eid-al-Fitr speaks to the truth that communities of faith -- including Muslim Americans -- enrich our national life, strengthen our democracy and uphold our freedoms, including the freedom of religion. That is why the we stand with people of all faiths, in the United States and around the world, in protecting and advancing this universal human right.

On behalf of the American people, we congratulate Muslim Americans and Muslims around the world on this joyous day. Eid Mubarak.

I think he'll be a pretty run of the mill senator; he's a strict social con, not so strict on fiscal discipline. However, he'll be a Republican with a pulse who will help to actually vote for a budget for the first time in years.

No power in the 'verse could get me to vote for McCaskill, and unfortunately, NOT voting for Akin is equivalent to a vote for that hag.

Not because of the "legitimate rape" thing; everyone knows that false accusations happen. One part that really stinks is the part when Akin starts with his speculations about gynecology. This is something that even Ron Paul could school him on.

Even worse, IMO, is his comment at the end: that abortion in the case of rape affects an innocent party - the unborn child. Hey! Guess what! I don't give a shit about the unborn children of rapists. Castrate the rapist and let the unwilling "mother" free to end his ill-begotten spawn. Go Old Testament on his family line. Rapists do not have the right to propagate by rape.

He was talking about legitimate claims of rape versus fake claims that women would make to get the rape exception for abortions.  It's not that difficult to figure out.

If you made abortion illegal but left in an exception in cases of rape then you'd have tons of women seeking abortions making false claims of rape to get through the exception. It ain't rocket science.  Think of "medical marijuana" and how it's a joke that doctors just write up "presecriptions" for pot for anyone who pays them.  Same idea, except that lots of innocent men will be fighting false accusations of rape because the women just want to get through the rape exception in abortion.

This is nothing like O'Donnell; she had never held office and thus had no record of success or sanity -- just a bunch of damaging soundbites from a cheesy show like Maher's. Akin has held elective office for years, has a solid conservative voting record, and has made one mistake. Get over it.

You're assuming I have something against Akin.  I'm talking strictly about ability to win here.  Clayton Williams was a solid conservative.  He was running in a more conservative state than Missouri.  He was a much more substantial person than O'Donnell.  He outspent Ann Richards by 2 to 1.

All that, combined with making the comment "If it's inevitable, just relax and enjoy it," led to him losing.

President Barack Obama called for conversation after Colorado, though we haven't heard him having one. Mitt Romney said nothing really. We did receive some wisdom from David Berkowitz, the "Son of Sam" killer who butchered six people across New York City in the 1970s. "Society has to take the glory out of guns," he offered from his prison cell. A country has a problem when the only sane advice is coming from the insane.

That's right champ, you and the Son of Sam have the same position on gun control. And hell I'll Godwin your ass and point out Hitler did do. Congrats!

159 By "nationalizing Facebook," I mean public ownership and at least a majority share at first. When nationalizing the company restores the public trust, that controlling interest could be reduced. There are three very good reasons for this drastic step: It could fix the company's woeful privacy practices, allow the social network to fulfill its true potential for providing social good, and force it to put its valuable data to work on significant social problems.

Government running Failbook restores government trust? The government will respect privacy? Work on "social problems"? Will it make whiter teeth and fresher breath too? Jesus, these lefties really buy into that government knows best and only care about making our lives better bullshit, don't they

I was talking to a lib friend the other day and he said, "I'd like to live in a world where everybody has a million dollars."  I pointed out that, "if everybody is a millionaire nobody is a millionaire (i.e. money is a measure of relative value, and does not have intrinsic value in and of itself), not to mention, that within a few days, the entrepreneurs would have figured out a way to sell something to the takers and pretty soon the money would be distributed unequally among the population."  He thought about that for a moment, then said, "Okay, then I want to live in a world where there's nobody else but me and I have a million dollars...and candy...and video games."

Okay- I fibbed a little bit- I wasn't talking to a libe, I was talking to my 9-year-old grandson, and unlike most libs I know, he actually got some cognitive dissonance and reconsidered his original opinion, a level of insight that many adults lack.

For my bright 11 year old nephew, 50% of all income went to the government. Pass Go, collect $200 and give $100 to the government. Showed him federal and provincial tax rates tables before we started.

And $5 a roll (gas taxes), $10 if you get doubles and had to roll again (vehicle registration), $20 for a third roll (emissions testing). Just to let him know what it's like when a government nickles and dimes you to death.

It was hell. We lasted 5 times around the board. Government pot raked in $2000. He learned a lot.

Good news everyone, fellows who whittle off their tallywackers now considered psychologically fit to pilot massive jumbo jets crammed full of passengers:

New procedures outlined by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will mean that trans-identifying pilots will no longer be subject to extra testing in order to qualify for a license.

It is standard practice for the FAA to require all prospective pilots to undergo rigorous physical and psychological examination to assess whether they are fit to fly. However, trans-identifying applicants have in recent years been required to undergo extra procedures, adding extensive and expensive behavioral and psychological testing barriers that have led to many trans pilots being grounded and others to lose their jobs, often for no other reason than their gender identity or expression.

Under new medical guidance issued in the past week, the FAA has now abandoned that threshold.

The National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), who worked closely with Representatives Barney Frank and Mike Honda together with the FAA to bring about this change

218 Is it okay for me to share my tale of woe here? I'm getting sick of this. Today we got a call from a representative from the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. My husband's band is being inducted next month. Anyway, all the band families had donated memorabilia for the exhibit, some of us sacrificing irreplaceable items with great sentimental value. Last night, someone broke into the Hall of Fame display area and stole several of the items, including my husband's gold record. (Fortunately, his daughter still has his platinum record.) The lead singer's guitar was taken as well, and this is really tough because he passed away in 2001 and the guitar was one of his family's treasured keepsakes. This follows upon the loss suffered by the band's favorite sound guy. He lives in Colorado Springs, and he anticipated that he would have to evacuate during the fire, so he loaded all his equipment into his truck trailer so he'd be ready to leave at a moment's notice. Next morning, his truck, trailer, and thousands of dollars of his sound equipment were gone, taken by looters. That trailer contained his entire livelihood. So if any of you Colorado morons run across a suspicious collection of sound and lights equipment, a guitar with flames on it and "Flash Cadillac" inlaid on the neck, a leather jacket with "Spike" on the back, or a gold "American Graffiti" record, we'd appreciate it if you would alert law enforcement. Thanks for listening.

235 Thanks all.  I haven't really drawn a paycheck in years.  My income comes from a couple warehouses I own which are paid off and an electrical cabinet company with sales at 20% of 4 years ago. .  Occupancy is so low they are barely paying their expenses.  Also I still fly my balloons for fun and a bit of profit.  I ran the numbers and to equal the difference between drawing now and drawing at 66 would converge when I reach around 78.  So the question becomes at what point does my conservative values and independence out weigh my basic whoring for money.  My dad died at 64 and never got a dime from the money he paid into SS.  If either of my warehouses, which have been on the market for 4 years, would see me through for a decade and make a lot of problems disappear.

This. And I'm only 31. I've had several times over the last few weeks where my knees have ached so bad that I had to ice them.

My knees had sounded crunchy for a while every time I used stairs or did weight machines in the gym.  They often hurt in the mornings.  Luckily, I saw an on-line article that said you could rebuild cartilage by drinking Knox gelatin powder (cheaper via Osteo-Biflex powder) in a small amount of juice every day.  I started in late Frebruary and was about to call the experiment a failure last week when I finished the most recent can of powder.  Then it dawned on me that my knees don't crunch anymore and rarely hurt in the mornings like they used to.

The bad news:  Osteo-Biflex quit making the powder, but you can still get their capsules.  Some drug stores have it on clearance.  Snatch it up.  What really convinced me was that the Arthritis Foundation had the Knox gelatin powder on their homepage as a recommendation.  I have a friend who swears by "Move Free Advance" capsules (in the red box).  Give it time.  Hope it helps.  And HB - Ohio Dan!

'night, all.

306 For a little historical perspective on top US tax rates --

The top marginal tax rate was reduced to 58% in 1922, to 25% in 1925, and finally to 24% in 1929. In 1932 the top marginal tax rate was increased to 63% during the Great Depression and steadily increased, reaching 94% (on all income over $200,000) in 1945. During World War II, Congress introduced payroll withholding and quarterly tax payments. Top marginal tax rates stayed near or above 90% until 1964 when the top marginal tax rate was lowered to 70%. The top marginal tax rate was lowered to 50% in 1982 and eventually to 28% in 1988. However, in the intervening years Congress subsequently increased the top marginal tax rate to 35% (the top marginal tax rate as of 2007).

357 well i just popped in to say goodnight and i see people are still talking about that Akins "Legitimate" Rape story and the whole magic vagina of rape pregnancy prevention.

I was thinking about it and I belive i have a solution.

When Atkins says that In cases of Legitimate Rape Pregnancy almost never happens....here is how we should counter.

Atkins needs to go on tv in the morning and hold a press conference where he he can clarify that when he said Legitimate Rape he was referring to forced buttsex and therefore his premise of you can't never get pregnant that way is scientifically accurate.  The way he can explain the "almost" part is to say that well sometimes in the heat of the moment you might pull out too far and when you rush to get back in you pop in the wrong door.

Now for the magic vagina thing...I dont know.  What he could do at that point is just step out from behind the podium wearing nothing but dress shoes black socks and sock garters from the waist down and do a couple of michael jackson spins and then booty hump for a few minutes for the camera while singing Call Me Maybe until he runs out the clock on the press conference.

Go Full on Crazy.

382 These fucking SoCons just can't help themselves.

Their problem is they want a political solution to something where 70% of the populace is in opposition to what they want, and they're trying to convince that 70% with religious/moral arguments rather than political ones.

This approach obviously hasn't worked.

Political arguments could work -- like pointing out to the leftists that they've been aborting a rock solid unassailable demographic majority that would bury the republicans forever and advance the socialist dependency state (which is true).  IOW, infiltrate the left and offer irresistible bait from the inside.  Get enough leftists thinking that they're destroying their own greater causes due to this one issue, and they'll start to think...do we want raw political power more than abortion?    Everyone knows what the answer to that question will be.  Power will win out over single issues every time.

The problem with the political argument that CAN work is it puts the SoCons in bed with the leftists, but when you're a true single issue voter, that really shouldn't be a problem.

390 You would not believe the pressure sometimes put on a rape victim to undergo an abortive procedure, EVEN IF SHE OBJECTS AND IS NOT PREGNANT.

2 Samuel 13 - 11 And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister. 12 And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly. 13 And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee. 14 Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her. 15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone. 16 And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her. 17 Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

I don't think I will ever understand the female of this species.

394 Don't think of it as an income limit, think of it as a productivity limit.  Once anyone hits $5M, there's no reason to not just vacation the rest of the year, right?

When you think it it as a productivity limit, it starts to sound a lot stupider.  Maybe not for hollywood, but for anyone else who actually does productive shit.

All the motivation for small businesses to expand evaporate (along with any jobs they'd have created).   If people were bored by 9 months of vacation they'd just start taking smaller salaries to stay under the $5M, making fewer investments, etc...and tax revenue would collapse accordingly.

428 What these leftist cocksuckers don't understand is that while $5m a year is plenty to live on comfortably from a consumption standpoint, after a certain point a person's income, particularly an entrepreneur's income is not used for consumption, but rather for investment.  And I'm not talking about throw it in the stock market investment.  I'm talking about "starting a new company" investment.  I'm talking about bail out a failing company and fix it type investment.  People who do things like this only get to do it because they have a track record of success in business.

The money (after your family is fed, clothed, and sheltered) is just a way of keeping score of how good you are at the game of entrepreneurship and thus how much future influence (I.E. capitalization of a new business or control through stock ownership of an existing firm.)  It actually works pretty well at putting people who are competent in control of enterprise while limiting the power one man or woman can have and making them responsible for the power they wield.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.  Most people have no idea of the immense idiocy of the reasoning behind Roe and how it strains credulity and makes a mockery of the idea of law and a joke of the Constitution.  People might be pro-abortion but I don't think anyone with a brain who knows anything is in favor of Roe.  Only Benedickhead Roberts' fanciful "taxation from heaven on nothing and anything" scheme is worse, and not even the people who were on the "winning" side of that decision agree with anything about it.

And, to be technical, Roe is not a "legal structure" but a "jurisprudential fantasy cake".  It's a term of Constitutional art.

I don't think Volstead act had anywhere near 70% and it passed.

Regional distribution don't mean shit, unless you want to contending a disproportionate percentage of supporters are in states like CA/NY and they're underrepresented in a one vote per state ratification vote.   I don't believe that to be the case.  In fact I believe the current red/blue map to actually FAVOR you position in terms of states ratification votes.

If you got the numbers you claim, changing the state legislatures is not a problem, just a matter of time.

She actually had a change of heart many years ago.

I was sitting in O.R.'s offices when I noticed a fetal development poster. The progression was so obvious, the eyes were so sweet. It hurt my heart, just looking at them. I ran outside and finally, it dawned on me. 'Norma', I said to myself, 'They're right'. I had worked with pregnant women for years. I had been through three pregnancies and deliveries myself. I should have known. Yet something in that poster made me lose my breath. I kept seeing the picture of that tiny, 10-week-old embryo, and I said to myself, that's a baby! It's as if blinders just fell off my eyes and I suddenly understood the truth — that's a baby!  I felt crushed under the truth of this realization. I had to face up to the awful reality. Abortion wasn't about 'products of conception'. It wasn't about 'missed periods'. It was about children being killed in their mother's wombs. All those years I was wrong. Signing that affidavit, I was wrong. Working in an abortion clinic, I was wrong. No more of this first trimester, second trimester, third trimester stuff. Abortion — at any point — was wrong. It was so clear. Painfully clear.

It is easy to be a self centered fool at 21 - especially when the left is looking for just such a person to use. Fluke's defense is harder to articulate...so to speak.

Wow, suicide...don't know where the man was at to do that.  Just can't fathom it.

460 I don't think Volstead act had anywhere near 70% and it passed.

The Senate voted 76% in favor and the House 68%.

If you got the numbers you claim, changing the state legislatures is not a problem, just a matter of time.

Unfortunately that presumes an informed and interested electorate and a Republican party that doesn't go out of its way to screw over conservatives. Based on the declared political leanings of judges and presidents aince 1973, R v W should have been overturned by the Webster decision in 1989.

461 >>>It is easy to be a self centered fool at 21 Exactly. I don't particularly mind that axiom. Everyone is stupid when they are young, by definition. However, when an idiot lends their name to a cause that runs counter to legitimate ideas like democracy, life, freedom, equality, and sundry other notions, I don't give a shit if they're 21, 121, or 12. Most of them learn to regret it later in life. History proves this to be true. The trouble is that their idiocy in the moment gets stupid federal law passed and that shit takes a generation to get unwound most of the time. Fuck 'em. No sympathy here.

Public suicides are typically a "look at me" way to go.  In LA, failed actresses used to jump off the Hollywood Sign, until they fenced it off.

If you're going to go that route, picking that particular bridge seems odd.  But then again, so is jumping off a bridge in general.

481 The Senate voted 76% in favor and the House 68%.

What was the popular support though?  Politicians bandwagon for all sorts of reasons and frequently vote against popular sentiment (ex ObamaCare).

Unfortunately that presumes an informed and interested electorate

Well, you might want to work on your approach then if you're not able to interest the electorate.  When people try confrontational tactics on me, I react poorly.  Most people do.  Something to consider...

R v W should have been overturned by the Webster decision in 1989.

My feeling is R v W should never have been granted cert in the first place.

The anti-abortion crowd claims to be "conservative" yet are pursuing an goal that would in a few generations had the levers of power over to the Pelosi's and Reids of the world permanently due to demographic shift.  How do you square that circle?  If you can convince me THAT is a sound course of action that enhances the survivability of the Republic, I'll change my opinion that your current approach is futile and a waste of resource.

Right/wrong are questions for ethicists.  I'm not an ethicist, I'm just a guy who Pelosi/Reid scare the shit out of who doesn't want to live in a communist state.  If you get what you want, then that's what will probably happen.

Maybe now you can begin to understand why mainstream republicanism hasn't embraced you?  Your single issue focus has brought you to the point where you're willing to assist in the destruction of the Republic to get what you want.  From the POV of the average guy, that doesn't make you an ally.

I didn't originate it.  The idea has been floating around for a while.  In fact, it was the inevitable logical conclusion of Sanger's policies that the left would wind up destroy its own constituency.  They're not particularly deep thinkers who were looking several moves and 50 years down the road.

Run the numbers, and it turned out to be true.  The left would be in total control now were it not for abortion.

508 Sister's dog is being a brat. His predecessor would play a game where he stood at the top landing of the stairs and catch a ball thrown from the bottom. Then he would drop the ball and enjoy watching it bounce down to the bottom to be tossed back again.

Current dog plays dumb when we try to get him to drop the ball from the top of the stairs. But when we are out of sight of the stairs we hear:
Thump, thump, thump, thump, about a dozen times, then the sound of the dog rushing down the stairs to retrieve the ball.

So he likes the game but only in solo mode.

512 #510

That would only work if multi-generational welfare clients hadn't been trained to regard reproduction as being more profitable than not having children. We give the vote to anyone who has managed to draw breath for 18 years. The left actively breeds an underclass herd to exploit that.

Posted by: epobirs at August 19, 2012 10:42 PM (kcfmt)

513 the left would wind up destroy its own constituency.

I would add, this is why they're looking to import replacements with all the illegal alien pandering.  The leftist strategists know full well their abortion policy is destroying their ability to breed a new constituency, so they're forced to go elsewhere to maintain numbers.

Before the hard left got control, this was never a partisan issue.  In the 50's/60's and even into the early 70's, traditional democrats were never in favor of illegal immigration.  Of course a lot of that had to do with stronger union membership of that era.  Now with the union memberships on the decline, they feel they can shit on the unions with illegal immigration and get away with it.

Declining birth rates are what drove the Eurotards to embrace all the muslim immigrants.  They needed a new low level ghettoised worker class to replace the one that was dying out.

The difference between them and us is we never forced ghettoisation of immigrants and have far better upward mobility than in europe.

This is where the left's immigrant strategy blows up in their faces in about 3-4 generations.  Upwardly mobile immigrants stop being hard leftists once they start accumulating some of their own shit they don't want to have taken away.

518 Time is the issue. We are out of time, if we don't buy more time. Perhaps laws that impose those income limits and tax levels, bolstered by cuts to defense spending offshore protecting people and religions that hate us, over a 20 year period for example, might solve our debt crisis. After we are out of the red as a nation, we can remove the limits and taxation extremes. I don't want medicare going broke in 4-15 years. I would rather tax the really, really rich and take the ballplayers money down a notch, instead of having to die in some kind of american calcutta hospital ditch.

536 "O.K" you fucked up, but WE don't hold it agains't ya, sure, you

Speak for yourself.  I surely hold it against them.  They should burn in hell for foisting the Indonesian Dog-Eating retard on us.  They are the lowest of scum that has ever existed - the worst people in history.  There is no forgiving them for what they did.  They have to atone and make up for it, but that is it.  What those idiots did will go down in history as one of the stupidest acts of any human population - EVER - and all to mollify their pathetic peersonality problems and illusory guilt.

Fuck them.  They are total scum.

545 some thoughts on trying to get to voters that fucked up in 2008 and might fuck up again --

1) reassure them about the Jackie Robinson question -- that is, if JR could not play ball for shit -- couldn't run. hit, field, or throw -- what would have happened?  Some idiots think he was the big test, and if he had failed then Mays, Gibson, Stargell, Clemente, Bonds, Aaron, etc. never would have gotten a chance.  So, maybe it is appropriate to just bring it up, and say something like:

"Look, I know you are worried that no other black guy is going to get a chance cuz Obama is a clusterfuck.  Don't worry about it, we understand.  If JR had been a flop at baseball, we know Mays and Aaron could still play.  Some black guy will succeed as long as he is not a leftist idiot.  Try a black conservative and see what happens."

2) guide them thru the sports fan issue --  (this is a tough one)

most people get their politics just like they get their sports team -- from mom, dad, grampa, etc.  And, getting them to change is as hard as getting a Sox fan to cheer for the Yanks in Fenway, a Alabam fan to cheer for Auburn, etc.  The only way any fan drops their team is when the team leaves town.  Your challenge is to help the person stuck in the fan issue understand that their team left town.  No one in Cleveland cheers for the Ravens.  No one in Balt cheers for the Colts.  Help them see that the Dems that their gramps loved are not these assholes, cuz their team left town.

Your analogy is off.  The biggest problem with the America-hating Dog-Eating Retard is not that he is the most miserably stupid anti-American piece of shit to walk in the White House but that he has been held to NO LAW WHATSOEVER and NO STANDARD OF DECENT BEHAVIOR, thanks to PC, general stupidity and the idiots who voted for him in 2008.

Anyone who would even THINK about giving power to anyone who cannot be held responsible is about the biggest imbecile around.  That is the fact of the situation and that is what people have to come to grips with.  That's why I've been sayign that if Barky isn't arrested at some point and held liable for al the damage and crimes he's committed then you can just kiss any chance of America being restored good-bye.  If people don't have the guts to enforce the Rule of Law on certain people that is a huge problem.  If they have a strange proclivity to give power to those same people out of some warped problem with their personalites, that is certain death.

This isn't baseball.  This is about the power of government and the nature of our nation.

unless you are planning to murder about 40-45% of all voters, you might want to start thinking of a way to actually change some minds.  my guess is threats, insults, and the like will not get too many of them to see things your way.

I don't give a shit about thieves that want gov't to be their thug, and I am not asking you to either.

But, I want to win, not just pound my chest.  So, why not start with the folks who hold down jobs, pay their taxes, and love their kids?  In many ways they live their lives more conservatively than you or me.  And yet, they vote for fuckheads.  And, because they vote for fuckheads, our guys end up fuckheads cuz they think that is where the votes will be -- and you know what -- they aren't wrong about where the votes are.  One thing professional pols can do well is count votes.

I am suggesting that there might be a way for us to understand people who live conservative lives and vote for fuckheads so that we might be able to reach them -- and hopefully change the way they vote.  (Yes, I plan to get a Michigan fan to vote for an Ohio State guy.  No, I don't think that will be easy, but I am damned sure that yelling at them won't help.)

557 I've read 2 and 90% of the 3rd Hunger Games books.  Completely lost interest in how it ends.  1st one was OK; a lot like Richard Bachman's (aka S King) The Long Walk.  Very very similar but not as good.

558 Could Obama lose Illinois come November? A new poll is being reported that shows Obama gettign only 49% of the vote in Cook County (where Chicago is). "President Barack Obama could lose his home state of Illinois in November, a new poll shows. "A poll conducted by Illinois-based pollster and political strategist Michael McKeon found Obama leading Republican Mitt Romney by 49 percent to 37 percent in Cook County, the home of Chicago. That puts him ahead by a far thinner margin than expected in a county he should be winning handsomely. More here: http://thedc.com/RvhuTj

Howdy fellers,

I just saw the unbanned posting. I cant believe I was never banned here. I'm the first one to go on libtard sites for expressing unpopular , yet logically correct conservative ideals.

I'm guessing there was some mass banning of socks..and somehow the babies got thrown out with the bath water. Heck, stranger things have happenned.

Its kinda akin to "friendly fire" which aint all that friendly when you are ducking for cover. Just sayin!

564 I propose instead that we nationalize "progressives".  Their lives, and any labor they may be capable of, will be jointly owned by the rest of the citizenry. We can then direct their activities to serve the public interest, something they have thus far failed miserably at.  Laying asphalt to build roads, digging trenches to lay broadband cables, septic tank removal, trash collection, picking up dog turds, and other vital projects that serve the common good, to name but a few examples.

565 The idiot idea about a "maximum wage" innit even original - the moron Jello Biafra (ex lead singer of the Dead Kennedys) had a spiel about that years ago in his "spoken word" routine. When you're following Jello Biafra, you've lost all relevance.

566 My father, who I referred to as a "capitalist pig" when I was a teenager (now I'm the capitalist pig) has been veering towards the liberal side of the spectrum in his ancient-itude. He's been extolling the virtues of salary caps for CEOs and executives for years...and he WAS a CEO/President of a multi-million dollar company.

I just do NOT get it.
