It was three years ago on a night just like tonight that the infamous Memorial Day ONT happened. It shocked even veteran moron-types, brought down anger and pinch-faced scoldery from on high, and damn near got the ONT canceled.
So in memory of that episode, for tonight only the usual ONT rules are partially suspended. So curse all you want and empty out that disgusting potty mouth of yours.
In fact as is traditional there's a new rule for tonight - everyone must curse at least once in their comments. Failure will be punished by mockery until the next poor bastard/bastardess screws up. It's not a flame war though, so think love - not war.
Oh and Vegas rules also apply - what happens on tonight's ONT, stays on tonight's ONT. Tomorrow Pixy will don his HazMat suit and dispose of it properly. And afterwards let us never speak of it again.

I'm not optimistic. I think the plot will be something like this.

Yeah, the 37 weighs but 71/4 lbs, so if you shoot high brass (slugs) it kicks like hell. Low brass for birds is no biggie recoil wise.

I've been driving the last two days from Portland, OR to El Paso, TX. I'm just outside Albuqurque, NM right now. Gonna check up on the rental property, visit friends, then drive to Denver and see more friends and family for a week or so before I head back to Portland to take the Foreign Service Officer Test.
No dancing or fencing for the last couple of weeks. I was struck with a nasty case of the flu or something, because I was knocked out for about two weeks. I'm still fighting off the last of the chest and sinus congestion.
The good news is that I found a blacksmith class near my dad's house, it's $400 for two days of training and I just got a nice fat refund check deposited in my account. I'm looking into it for when I get home.

1897 Winchester: Awesome and if you hold the trigger down, it will slam fire every time you cycle the slide until you run out of shells... bad part is the hammer will slice the crap out of the web between your thumb and index finger, but hey, that's what hammers do.
Model 12 Winchester: no hammer, but no slam fire either. gets the j*b done.
870: pretty much the modern pump gold standard... dual rails make it less likely to bind up. have your gunsmith machine a slot in the follower tray so you can reseat a round if it pops out of the mag tube.
M-500 et all: does a good j*b, and the safety on top of the receiver is a handy thing, as long as you don't have one that resets to safe every time you turn around.
Stoeger Double Defense: side by side coolness, and a sure bet to clear the hallway of unwanted visitors late at night. comes with pickwhatever rails to hang lights, etc on.
Remington 1100: will shoot faster than you can aim, if you aren't careful. w*rks well on crowds of looters.
Benelli Auto: same thing, just a damn sight more expensive than the 1100
fancy over and under skeet guns: great for shooting sporting clays, which is good for your ego, as long as your ego needs pruning.
for back up, carry a 1911A1. all other pistols are shit compared to John Browning's masterpiece.
and you can't go wrong with an M-1 Garand in the corner if they are hovering out of range of your shot gun.

Yeah, El Paso does have a way of sucking people in, time and time again. Resistance is futile...almost. As of right now, all my immediate family made it out of there, but my dear friend (who, by the by, is a single, gorgeous, but not Mexican girl) who left the same time as I did just moved back to Chuco. My husband's three sisters all left but one got sucked back in.
Heh. My first battalion commander had come to Bliss as an LT, met a local girl, and after living in Colorado they moved back to ELP after he got out of the Army. He ended up teaching HS. Another officer I knew came there from Seattle, ended up marrying a Juarez girl right before he took an assignment in Tampa. A year later he was right back there because "she missed her family."
Good luck on the Ft. Bliss job...there are much worse fates than a house on the east side (like a house on the Northeast, where I grew up).
Thanks. If I get offered the job and accept it, the upside is I can use the next few years to buy rental properties and set up a steady income stream.

It came out killer. That was a bastard, but it came out great. The old parlor guitar is back to its owner, and I did a few refins on a couple strats. I redid one of mine in fiesta red, and the shop owner I do work for saw it and handed me his '62 strat to do. It was repainted in the 80's by a car painter who did the worst hooker nail polish purple you can imagine, so I did that one fiesta red too. Its really spoiling me, he told me to hang on to it for a few weeks.

No..nobody liked that purple, not chick, man, or beast. It was horrible. It sat in the case for 30 years because it was so ugly the owner was too embarrassed to take it out of the case, so it sat for years.
The parlor guitar owner cheapened out, all he wanted done was the bridge reglued and a few things tightened up. it plays and sounds pretty good for being over 100 years old, but it will eventually go away without the internal work that it needs.

Bers, I do try and keep it moving. I just cannot play worth a damn. I get SO frustrated. Thor is the same. He'd shrivel up and die if he couldn't play. I was never one to sit and just get lost in it and play for hours on end. I tend to want to learn a specific song. I also tend to do better when I jam with other people. Sitting and practicing was never my thing, which is the main reason I never got good at Classical! (Well, that and the stupid necks being so fat) (And those muthafuckin' nylon strings I hate so much, lol!)

Yeah, I've read that but I'm not a Del Turkey fan. I don't think he helped the HellBoy franchise at all.

The Shadow would be awesome done right (and not the Alec Baldwin flim), same with The Phantom. Would love to see a The Black Bat film but people wouldn't like it because of the similarities between him and Batman (even though Black Bat was a cooler character during the pulps). Would also give my left nut from a tv show or film of Detective Jules de Grandin (sad how Seabury Quinn overshadowed Lovecraft at the time and now no one remembers Quinn)

He's shown himself to be disloyal, overly critical (without being required to back up his criticisms. Note they don't really ask him what should be done and why, just that Romney's doing it wrong and he's talking in the royal we in the "GOP foreign affairs community"? Plus so far I think he hasn't disagreed with anything Obama has done. At least not in hearing distance of any microphone.
