— andy I'm sorry, but are you effin' kidding me Peggy?
Something's happening to President Obama's relationship with those who are inclined not to like his policies. They are now inclined not to like him. His supporters would say, "Nothing new there," but actually I think there is. I'm referring to the broad, stable, nonradical, non-birther right. Among them the level of dislike for the president has ratcheted up sharply the past few months. It's not due to the election, and it's not because the Republican candidates are so compelling and making such brilliant cases against him. That, actually, isn't happening.
What is happening is that the president is coming across more and more as a trimmer, as an operator who's not operating in good faith. This is hardening positions and leading to increased political bitterness. And it's his fault, too. As an increase in polarization is a bad thing, it's a big fault.
Uhhhh ... ok. You can read the rest of her reasoning, but, honestly, why bother?
I guess it makes sense if you believed the crap Obama was selling in 2008.
Oh, wait. Peggy did!
The rest of us, though, get to say "we told her so". Over, and over and over. And, not to leave out Iowahawk ...
But now, Dame Noonan declares "Obama increasingly comes across as devious and dishonest."
NO! NO HE DOESN'T! He's been devious and dishonest since day one, you idiot! You were just too stupid or starstruck or whatever to see it.
I mean, honestly, is anyone surprised by the race-baiting or any of the other crap we're getting from a "community organizer" who sat in Reverend Wright's "church" for twenty years and was a member of the socialist New Party?
Oh, screw it. I'll have what Peggy's having.

Note: I have asked Jack M., our resident expert on Dame Noonan, to add his thoughts. He is currently suffering from a severe watercress sandwich reaction but I hope to have his input as the election season progresses.

Our local squishy "Republican" talk show host had Peggy on her show in 2008. They both moaned about partisanship and how getting rid of it would be like a "Calgon bath".

3) How does never being in charge of so much as a Cub Scout troop make anybody think you'd be a good POTUS?

"I think the fate of the United States will be Balkanization."
Probably, eventually.
The really galling thing about this trajectory is about Federalism. A finely-tuned system of Federalism among 50 different states with as little central interference as possible would have given the progs all the little socialist utopias they could populate (tough given teh ghey and rampant abortion, I know) but no - they gotta put their fingers in everybody's damn pie. Can't have a low tax/low reg state like TX showing up their opposite number in CA. Everyone's gotta pay. It's for the children, you know.

Communism is an inherently expansionist philosophy. As long as there is one neighboring State(country, whatever) that is not Communist, Communism requires the conquest of that entity. This is because- with very, very few exceptions, non-communist states are happier and richer than communist states. But Communism promises Utopia. But it can't be Utopia if there are people who have it better- so you have to conquer those people and subject them to the same misery as everyone else.
Real Federalism- staunchly and bravely defended- would spell the end of the Liberal Left in America- because it would be shown to be the complete fraud it is. Even with a strong central government, tramping on the rights of the States and the People, freer States put the lie to Liberalism.

People don't want to admit that they were suckered (or in Noonan's case, willingly seduced) since that would be an admission of their own failures. Deep down they know that they bought a load of dung, they just don't want to be told that. So, blame it on Jugears.

Take some comfort for if truth/reality/common sense/decency was on their side they would surely use it. The near total lack of it in any of their approaches says they are hollow and bankrupt.
Like when Reagan new the Soviets were lying about their economy, so he challenged them to a competition they couldn't compete in but their pride/past lies wouldn't let them back down from.

Peggy Noonan wrote one good speech for Ronald Reagan (I say good, not great, because she swiped the punchline from another, much better writer) and has turned that into a career. She's quite happy to slam conservatives, even Reagan, whom she now professes to revere (remember her quip comparing Reagan's mind to the Western Front). She's an establishment hack, pure and simple, with all the naivete and narrowmindedness that that implies.
So, *of course* she swooned when a sharply creased, nice looking African-American, with some Ivy-League degrees and a smooth mid-Atlantic accent comes along.
*Of course* she overlooked his utter lack of experience, his being utterly untested, his complete lack of accomplishment in any area whatever, other than that of getting elected to office.
*Of course* she ignored his boorish behavior during the campaign: his giving people the finger in public, his snide remarks, his paper-thin skin (remember his blow-up over the "New Yorker" cover - one that was mocking his enemies).
*Of course* she ignored his abysmal taste: the president-elect seal, the styrofoam Grecian columns, the huge portraits of himself, the choirs of children chanting hymns in his praise.
*Of course* she overlooked his promise to roll back the very oceans themselves: things beyond the power of mortal man, let alone a politician.
*Of course* she overlooked his radical background: that, by his own admission, his career was launched in the kitchen of a man who had helped to plant a bomb in the US Capitol.
*Of course* she ignored the fact that he is the product of the most corrupt political machine in America.
And now, she professes herself surprised that this untried inexperienced corrupt narcissistic ideologue is proving to be a four-star fuck-up as president.
Me, I'm not surprised: either at Obama, or at the cluelessness of that rube Noonan. But being a charitable soul, I say welcome to the party, Peggy. Though it took you long enough to show up.

on palin and 'what does she stand for'
yet she was bamboozled. hmm..
BHere is a fact of life that is also a fact of politics: You have to hold open the possibility of magic. People can come from nowhere, with modest backgrounds and short résumés, and yet be individuals of real gifts, gifts that had previously been unseen, that had been gleaming quietly under a bushel, and are suddenly revealed. Mrs. Palin came, essentially, from nowhere. But there was a man who came from nowhere, the seeming tool of a political machine, a tidy, narrow, unsophisticated senator appointed to high office and then thrust into power by a careless Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose vanity told him he would live forever. And yet that limited little man was Harry S. Truman. Of the Marshall Plan, of containment. Little Harry was big. He had magic. You have to give people time to show what they have.
later...Because maybe they have magic toout we have seen Mrs. Palin on the national stage for seven weeks now, and there is little sign that she has the tools, the equipment, the knowledge or the philosophical grounding one hopes for, and expects, in a holder of high office. She is a person of great ambition, but the question remains: What is the purpose of the ambition? She wants to rise, but what for? For seven weeks I've listened to her, trying to understand if she is Bushian or Reaganite—a spender, to speak briefly, whose political decisions seem untethered to a political philosophy, and whose foreign policy is shaped by a certain emotionalism, or a conservative whose principles are rooted in philosophy, and whose foreign policy leans more toward what might be called romantic realism, and that is speak truth, know America, be America, move diplomatically, respect public opinion, and move within an awareness and appreciation of reality.
giggle, sheesh, sigh.

I will confess, on January 21, 2009 I sat back and said "Maybe this won't be all that bad."
After all, we managed to work under Clinton. Those of you who lived through Carter will say it was hard, but you're still here. Maybe, Just Maybe, things won't go completely belly up. There are after all, only so many possible ways to screw up, and even a untrained monkey throwing poop in the Oval Office could avoid most of them.
I wasn't happy, but I wasn't stressed either I figured I'd go about my life, maybe get angry here and there about a decision or an action....
Boy was I wrong. I mean how do you possibly hit on every wrong step? Not get one possible thing right? (Obama-philes will eventually remind me "He Killed Bin Laden, so I guess he got one thing right." But if we're to believe the actual nature of that interaction it seems more like his cabinent finally told him to STFU and do something.) Economy: Bust, Foriegn policy: currently being run by some French NATO guy, tranformative politics: Racist.
Politics are liars, I get that, but usually they'll tack center at some point to save their own hides, this SCOAMF just keep going down the strange "I can make them love me again with cheap photo ops!" hole.

One thing I love about handguns is how few marksmanship principles there are versus long range rifle shooting, yet just how easy it is to miss at startingly close ranges if you let your attention lapse.
It's why I love movies where the bad guy is jumping off some object, prostrate in mid air - scoring perfect headshots on (presumably) well-trained federal agents in good solid stances who can't seem to hit the broadside of a barn.

If I had more experience (and, therefore, better 'muscle memory') that would probably work for me, too. But I found I needed the stability that squaring up provided.
there is some wisdom in presenting a smaller profile to the other guy.
Yeah, it being my first time, I'm not to terribly concerned with that.
It's like when I was taking martial arts (mostly tae kwan do, but I've also done some karate) they always start teaching you from a front-facing stance (usually 'horse stance' or something similar) you don't move to a "fighting stance" until you've mastered some of the basics.

"Your range probably won't let you"
Most indoor ranges won't let you do much more than stand still and pop off one round every 2 seconds max. That's fine for basic marksmanship, but God forbid you end up in a fight, the chances of squaring up in a perfect stationary isocoles stance, etc. are approaching nil. Moving your ass out of there is paramount. That's the real value in training classes and competitions like IDPA and USPSA. You learn to move and shoot under time pressure.

LINK: bit.ly/H2Trmp
"Black women used to work as servile maids, and so whites decided to reward Oprah, an independent woman, with billions. But, her liberated role is really as a neo-maid. Good for nothing else, she massages 'white guilt' and makes whites feel good. She's indeed the most highly paid maid in the world.
And Obama is really like the black chauffer who is driven around by others. But he chauffers around white liberal guilt and self-regard as do-gooders.
Oprah's maidness and Obama's chaufferness have gone from the literal to the metaphysical. They don't actually practice those roles physically but still do so psychologically."

Semi auto pistols are fun but you're right can be spendy to shoot. Not sure if you have acess to some land to spend the day shooting or not. But I have a black powder rifle and pistol (Ruger Old Navy). They are a lot cheaper to shoot since the ritual process of loading takes time. The range I went to offers classes ranging from their "Basic Handgun" to a CHL class, up to a "Defensive Handgun" (or something like that) class. Their range is also good for pistols and rifles (on guy had an AR-15 he was shooting while I was there). They apparently allow shotguns, but now they charge an extra fee for that.

Have always found that starting a novice shooter in the actual mechanics of shooting works best with a small caliber handgun-.22 is ideal here. No concern about recoil, hence no distraction.
Of course, none of this takes place until familiarization with the concept of safe shooting happens.

I truly believe that Joe Biden will be the last one to turn off the lights. From ABC news:
"Vice President Joe Biden today assured a group of campaign donors in Wisconsin that Republican criticism of President ObamaÂ’s leadership style doesnÂ’t match up with what heÂ’s witnessed firsthand.
“I’ve watched him make decisions that would make another man or woman’s hair curl,” Biden told the crowd of 150 inside the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee, according to a pool reporter on scene.
Biden, who has said he’s the last man in the room with Obama before a tough call, often attests that his boss has a “backbone like a ramrod.”
And today he said that mettle — and the “serious problems” Obama faced upon taking office — put the president in a class of his own.
“I think I can say … no president, and I would argue in the 20th century and including now the 21st century, has had as many serious problems which are cases of first-instance laid on his table,” Biden said. “Franklin Roosevelt faced more dire consequences, but in a bizarre way it was more straightforward.”
The vice president claimed that the complexity of the 2008 financial crisis presented challenges in a way the Great Depression of 80 years ago did not.
Biden also discussed the decision by Obama to authorize a covert raid into Pakistan to kill or capture Osama bin Laden, noting that nearly the entire national security team — including Biden — advised against the raid. Obama made the call anyway.
The only one on the team who agreed with the president, said Biden, was then-CIA director Leon Panetta.
“Nobody but one person in that entire apparatus said go,” Biden said."

True. I got about 10 minutes of basic instruction (for free, no less) since I was a first time shooter. I practiced that stuff on the range, too.
Speaking of- I never realized how much effort went into loading a handgun magazine. My thumb still feels like it's pressing a bullet down and into the magazine.

At the public range (I think they have a private one for their classes) the answers are: probably, no, no, and yes. There's not room to go prone or move laterally, I don't think they'd know or care if you shot through a jacket, though, and they don't check your ammunition- you can bring and shoot whatever you want, ammunition wise.

No, not yet. But, she is still on the tail end of the "how do I rationalize what I know is stupid and wrong but I want to do it anyway" phase.
Between years 2 and 3 of the JEF, she would post stuff critical of him and of Democrats in particular. But, there has been a subtle shift in the last 4 or 5 months. You wouldn't know it unless you were actively suspicious of her. Perhaps, it started with her notion that the JEF really wanted to lose on Obamacare because she calculates it'll be a net plus for him as he can spin it to a campaign point. It really accelerated over the Fluke's Love Hovel business where she got out in front of that and made a point to howl that the GOP was mean and wrong. But, removing any doubt was her post about the JEF's response to Treyvon--some bullshit about how "he'd look like my son" was shrewd, thoughtful, "just the right tone" and careful for a response.
Yes. That [spit] one is going to vote for the JEF. She has already decided that, she is just looking for a proper fig leaf.

Again, read that new post over at iSteve - it was tailor-made for skirts who think with their c*nts, like our Ms Noonan:
To me, the big question is whether this ENTIRE PHENOMENON was intentionally engineered [by the likes of the Frankfurt School, and their allies in the media & the financial world & academia] precisely so as to get skirts like Noonan all wet between the legs.

My mom (who's second generation Japanese, Nisei) cleaned houses to pay for college. My dad (also Nisei) was your stereotypical Japanese gardener and in ROTC to pay for college and grad school. They were also interned at Minidoka during WWII. I grew up to believe that no one ever owed me anything and if I wanted to succeed, I had to work hard and be willing to do whatever it took to achieve. My parents drilled into me that no job was beneath me (my worst job ever was as a nurse's aide in a nursing home in college, I cleaned up a lot of poop and changed a lot of soiled beds). I am sick and tired of people using race or the subjugation and mistreatment of their ancestors to entitle them benefits today. I am also fricking sick of people demanding "justice" for the past egregious sins that America committed. If these asshats hate it here so much, they need to return to their countries of origin and see how well off they would be their ancestors not been enslaved.

Right, but the Frankfurt School and their allies in Hollyweird didn't just spend the last century lionizing the white women who worked as maids.
Rather, they spent the last century canonizing the likes of Hattie McDaniel as "Mammy".
And my gut is telling me that the entire phenomenon was a very carefully groomed century-long exercise in PsyOps, by the Frankfurt School, precisely so as to groom the wet-between-the-legs reaction in skirts like Peggy Noonan when confronted with the emergence of a Barack Hussein "Sidney Poitier" Obama.

"I go back and forth on the question. maybe yes, maybe no. if it was engineered by the likes of those mentioned it was a terrible mistake. I think having the frankfurt school become more widely know and discussed than ever, along with critical race theory is a horrible thing for their movements. additionally, having things go as they have, especially lately, is making a huge draw on the well of good will extended to african Americans throughout society. replacing zero is not enough to replenish the well, now we are going to have a conversation"
But the folks in the Frankfurt School have no more regard for the best interests of Black Americans than they had for the best interests of Ukrainian Russians, right before they instituted the Holodomor and murdered 10 million of them.
You just cannot misunderestimate quite how evil these people are.
We're talking Peter Singer, calling for the institutionalized murder of infants, and Ezekiel Emmanuel, calling for the institutionalized murder of old people.
They are the most evil people who have ever walked the face of the earth.
Which, again, is why my gut is now telling me that they - very quietly and very patiently and very stubbornly - spent about a century inculcating Americans in this bizarre psycho-sexual milieu within which a Peggy Noonan would get all wet between the legs at the sight of the emergence of a Barack Hussein "Sidney Poitier" Obama.
Again: You cannot misunderestimate their evil, nor can you misunderestimate the amoral depths which they will plumb in order to force their will upon a society.

"That was truly a shameful episode in American History. Shameful."
The thing is, no one in my family (parents and all their sibs) is bitter about it. They all got out of camp, stopped going to Japanese school, assimilated, and strove to get educated (why there are so many Japanese professionals like doctors, dentists and engineers). My parents never talked about it. We didn't even know about it til my older sister, who was in 12th grade came home from school one day. She had a lesson about it, and she asked my parents if they knew anyone that was ever interned. My mom and dad just kind of looked at eachother and said "Why do you want to know that?"
There was real loss too (my dad especially experienced tremendous hardship because his dad was in the import/export timber business and worked for a Japanese company, so he was thrown in prison for being a spy, my dad's mom committed suicide because she thought that she had said something incriminating that got her husband sent to jail, my dad initially went to an orphanage and then his Uncle and Aunt took him in right before they went to camp).
It's funny, but the children of those who were interned (my generation, the Sansei) are the ones who made it into such a big deal. Their parents never talked about it, but they are the ones (and they are pretty much a monolithic block of Democrats) who are organizing Minidoka reunions and memorial services.

I've used a .22 for "keeping the edge" for years. It's cheap and does just as well as shooting something ( my .45ACP) that eats expensive ammo.
Don't worry too much about home intrusion in my particular area, the possibility exists, but the probability is quite slim. So unless tshtf, I rely on keeping the Colt on the bedstand, loaded.
But I WOULD be keeping the Ithaca with the slug barrel handy if it were necessary.
Not a big worry for me, either...a would-be intruder would be set upon by a 75lb. bully-dog who takes no prisoners, giving me ample time to decide if I should use the .357 or the .45ACP to finish the bastard off.

The Koreans didn't fare well under them either. The Japanese were badass bullies. They were not nice people. Part of it was the Shinto religion, they really thought they were superior to everyone else and that everyone else was subhuman. It would have been interesting if WWII would have played out differently. How would have ended for Hitler in the end? The Japanese would have eventually exterminated the Aryans. Replacement barrels sound like a good idea... until you price them. For a relatively inexpensive shotgun like a Mossberg 500 or 835 (I have both) the barrel costs damned near as much as a new gun. I think I paid less for a used Mossberg 500 slug gun (with scope) than what a new rifled slug barrel cost.

There are a number of cheaper plastic parts like the trigger guard in the lower-end 870 Express 18" HD model, but it's still a hell of a lot of awesome for $300 at the Wal Mart gun counter. I was lucky enough to find an old Wingmaster model and convert it to HD duty on the cheap. That thing is glassy smooth and a freaking tank all at the same time.

Death rates for POWs was way higher in Japanese camps.
Again, it was due to their "Bushido" culture--you fight til you die, you do not surrender. The Japanese could not comprehend this "surrender" stuff. They were completely unprepared for it. They viewed those who put down their arms to live another day as truly shameful subhuman losers. The rates for surrender amongst the allies vs the Japanese were a lot higher too.

(I buy from Hick's trading post in Pinkneyville, IL personally. Got my gun there used as well.)

Of course, there was absolutely nothing wrong with nuking cities and killing enemies during war. But the nukes didn't even do nearly the level of damage that firebombing 60+ wooden cities before that accomplished - rightfully so. War is hell and the Japanese deserved every bit of pain and death delivered to them and their population.
Of course, WWII was ended more successfully than any war in history, with our most implacable foes being turned into our strongest, most trustworthy allies for over half a century ... which certainly does away with the whole "win hearts and minds without killing enough of them" idea to rest.
Nothing has ever "won the hearts and minds" of the enemy like total destruction and an uncompromising occupation. We had to kill the Japanese with abandon in order for THEM to feel okay surrendering (unconditionally) finally.

President George H.W. bush was almost eaten by the Japanese. He was shot down after bombing the island of Chichi Jima. The wind and tide blew his raft away from the island instead of toward it. U.S. aviators who were blown toward the Japanese held island were eaten by the japanese, not out of starvation but just to prove that they were badass, partly in enacting a Japanese idiom. James Brady's book Flyboys is about this incident.

LOL. They would have wanted to, but it would not have been likely to go beyond fantasy. It takes more than a mean attitude to win wars and kill people off. The Japanese couldn't even consolidate their gains in China. They couldn't spare anything to attack Russia. They were a second rate power all along, and would have remained so. The cultural changes that allowed them to excell in quality and technology were a result of defeat and occupation. Without the humbling and pummeling they got in WW2 by the US, they'd have continued in their arrogance as before.
The Japanese were never going to go beyond Asia.

Remember that the Japanese didn't even really want a war with the US- they were hoping that Pearl Harbor would be a crippling strike, and that we would cow before their all-to-evident might.
Morimoto tried to warn them otherwise, but they didn't listen.

LOL. Imagine if we'd gone with plan B. The original invasion plans involved mass gas attacks on the Japanese. I remember a documentary explaining the concept - and the footage of acre upon acre of poison barrels that were being readied.
Besides, Japan was also on the cusp of having a-bombs. They tested one 3 days before the war ended. They would have used it on us, so they have no grounds for complaint.

Sorta like a subsonic sledge hammer. Penetration was total. but the backup piece at 12' showed extreme spread, with a blown pattern. Probably not lethal, but very painful, discounting the magic pellet.

There were also German-Americans interned in WWI and WWII. Not as useful to teach about that, for some reason.
There weren't as many of them, and it wasn't done by Executive Order (for those with as little as 1/16th Japanese blood). Almost 2/3 of the Japanese people interned were actually U.S. citizens as well. The Germans who were interned were not U.S. citizens. I think you are comparing apples to oranges.

That is how the world is going and the US has been obsessed with importing enough of the world into the US so that we are as stupid and insane as the rest of the planet. Leftists can't stand the US being the only sane nation around.
The World is still ethnically organized everywhere except for the West and has always been. To compound problems, the idiot West not only refuses to acknowledge this, but turns around and presses it with their idiotic notion of "self-determination" for every ethnic group that thinks they need a flag and their love of ethnic transfers to carry out the West's public denial of the existence of ethnicism as an organizing principle when every single thing they do works towards that goal ... except for what they do to the West, itself.
World tribalism is coming to America and there will be no avoiding it. Whites, being so tired of winning, will let themselves lose until a reaction is absolutely necessary and then the shit will really hit the fan.

Like it or not, there's this GREAT MASS OF VOTERS out there -- some call them "independents"; you and I use less flattering names -- that need this explained to them. And no, Peggy has been very consistent since 2009 in criticizing how BO has handled this job that, apparently, was way tougher than he thought going in -- something else she's reminded people of many times.
Here's the thing you younger morons don't get: Barack Obama is BLACK, therefore he is being held to a different standard by the media and a great many "middle" voters. Racist? Of course! Welcome to The Real World, 2012 Edition. Or haven't you heard/seen all the racist crap that's been swirling around the "Trayvon" story?
We have a job to do, which is DEFEATING BARACK OBAMA, and p****ing all over a fellow conservative will not help our cause. Whether you love or hate people who don't think exactly like you do doesn't matter; WE NEED THEIR VOTES. To get those votes, somebody needs to explain to them that it's OK not to vote for the Black Guy this time, which Peggy does better for that crowd than anybody else out there. If you don't get that by now, you shouldn't be blogging about politics. (I had assumed the "moron" tag used so freely on this site wasn't literal.)
BTW, free speech is a powerful thing; use it responsibly. Otherwise, the next time someone likes you goes calling someone like Peggy an "idiot" -- someone who actually worked in the White House, who knows the political game better than anyone in the MSM today -- some old guy will have to seek out that person and kick his skinny-runt ass all the way to Burbank.
Nice talking to you, moron.

"I agree. the funny thing is zero does not care about african Americans either, they are just a tool in the box."
Exactly.
And neither does Moochelle.
That make-work bribe-job she got at the UChicago School of Medicine was designed to keep the ghetto blacks out of the UChicago system - to funnel them into lesser-quality government clinics - so that the paying customers wouldn't have to rub elbows with them.
Immanuel Kant [to his credit] had a thing or two to say about this - this idea of using other human beings as a means to an end.

He was conducting recon. Learning as much as he could about his target to subvert it from within. As a bonus, it offered him the perfect cover.

"So the question is, which side do you want to crush the other? Because that's the only choice you get. I agree, peace isn't on the menu long-term. Hope I'm wrong."
I sure do hope it can be resolved peacefully.
Because we're pretty much at the point where the two sides aren't going to be able to live together anymore.
Blue States determined to commit suicide and die.
Red States struggling to survive [and, God forbid, actually thrive].
There just aren't enough Red Staters in this country to fund SS/Mediscare for aging boomers and SSI/AFDC/EITC/etc for all the "minorities" - the numbers just don't add up.

We have to get rid of this guy in November. If we don't vote him out there will be only a USSA, not the land we grew up in and love.

For those readers/commenters still contemplating shotguns, I present 2 pieces of information.
1. The BoxOTruth website consists of many firearms tests. One test is firing buckshot through a rifled 12ga barrel. The result was a pattern about 18 " in diameter (the "Donut of Death") ... at 5 yards distance. 15 feet is roughly the diagonal distance across many living rooms to the front door, so th epattern would miss most body armor, but still hit the target. The only problem is that buckshot is 9 (or 15) almost-.32cal projectiles, and with a pattern this wide, they will cover a much larger area. Be certain of your target.
2. Always use a stock. Firing birdshot from a 12ga equipped with 1 or 2 pistol grips is ... your choice ... , but firing a stout slug round is doubtfully possible; firing a second may be impossible. But with a real stock, I suppose the limiting factors are targets, ammo, and personal pain tolerance. Also, there is merit to swapping the original stock out for a youth stock ... there's room for an additional recoil pad, if you chose, and if you wear body armor, the (shorter) youth stock restores the original length of pull ... and if you get one with overmolded rubber, the grip is quite good.

"Whites, being so tired of winning, will let themselves lose until a reaction is absolutely necessary and then the shit will really hit the fan."
Right - that's what I'm worried about.
The Left has no earthly idea the horror that will transpire if our self-discipline ever snaps, and we decide to go full-blown medieval on their asses.

Jean, my philosophy in design is simplicity is reliability. Would you like to see triple redundancy in your combat weapon? Your life depends on that weapon so reliability is paramount. Weapons which are reliable enough to stake your life on are invariably simple as possible. The AK-47 is a good example. It has one major feature, reliability. It is crude and unrefined and it lacks convenience, but reliability it has in spades. That is my argument. I contend that triple redundancy is there for public relations. We would be better served by aircraft which is designed for maximum simplicity and reliability. Single systems which are simple and robust as possible. Just my opinion. As a side note, double ignition on single engine piston aircraft are not there for reliablilty, the engines were designed in the 20's for the most part, and the combustion chambers are too inefficient to work well without dual spark ignition.

And this is the guy who sneered when people called him "socialistic". His supporters still sneer at it, calling him (and themselves) "moderates", while people who consider fiscal solvency and the Constitution important are termed "right-wing extremists".
The "New Pary" article is good, but I swear I've also seen an image from a Chicago paper where Obama was celebration his State Senate win with the New Party leaders. It was their biggest-ever win.
