PURPLE POLL: Romney-Ryan Bounces, Leads in FL, OH, VA
— CAC

Boom.

Romney is now enjoying his first lead over Obama in the 12 state swing poll in months, increasing his approval rating from -8 to -3, and his VP is the only person on either ticket with positive approval.

Romney's lead in Florida dropped from last month from +3 to +1, but has reversed Obama's dominance in the monthly Purple in Virginia and regained a lead in Ohio. Romney has gained five points in both.

Now if only they started polling Wisconsin and Pennsylvania individually...

Also, as pointed out by Slu in an email:

Romney-Ryan budget plan
Tax breaks for rich/ends Medicare: 42%
Reduce defict/help economy and Medicare: 45%
Not sure: 13%

As much as the donk/MFM coordinated mob want to present them as ruthless and evil, the Romney/Ryan ticket is just not scary enough to John Q and Jane Q. The more they get out there and address the public, defining their vision, the more appealing and acceptable they become.

If you take those voting for Romney amongst Rep/Dem/Ind and subtract it from those voting for Obama, ROMNEY LEADS BY 16 POINTS OVERALL!

But this poll has Romney ahead by only 1 point!  He leads Independents (the largest group in most polls) by 11 and yet he leads overall by only 1?

My only conclusion is that this poll uses no less than a 10 point Democrat oversample.

Hasan's attorneys have said he won't shave because the beard is an expression of his Muslim faith. But Gross said Hasan will be forcibly shaved before the trial if he doesn't shave the beard himself. He said he wants Hasan in the courtroom during the court-martial to prevent a possible appeal on the issue if he is convicted.

Do Democrats have enough of a numerical advantage in Ohio to transform a 53-31 lead for Romney among independents into a two point lead overall?  Do Republicans have enough of a numerical advantage in Florida to transform a 52-40 lead for Obama among independents into a one point overall lead for Romney?  It looks like they aren't adjusting for party affiliation, and getting poll respondents with a partisan breakdown that doesn't match up with reality.

It's not gonna turn in a day, or a week. But it is turning.

The Ryan rollout has been very successful, Romney looks and speaks like a new candidate these days, while Slow Joe spews his retarded venom and his boss can't fill a high-school gym. I just saw on CNN that Zero is gonna unleash Moochele on the country...she may have high approval ratings but, as it seems to be with this administration, the more people see of her the less they will like her.

If everything continues to go smoothly, R + R should get another nice post-convention boost. And they'll be able to twist the knife with all of that shiny campaign cash that's just sitting in the bank.

   This.  Thank you ATC.  That which we have long dreamed of is finally coming to pass.  Some small amount of real offense, and maybe more to come!  Some smart guys doing smart things, finally, on our side.  The more time passes, the more palatable Romney is to me.  Sure - he's not rabidly reactionary like I am.  But he's probably gonna save me from Obastard.  He's a winner, unlike McCain and Dole and Bush Sr.  If he does that, he has my long term loyalty and support.  I'm already motivated to give him some of my money for his noble quest (admittedly not as much as I should probably give, but something).

127 Time for a reminder.  Per a statistical analysis Jay Cost did in 2004, it is mathematically impossible for the popular vote winner to lose the Electoral College unless the margin of victory is under .5%.

Swing state polling is interesting, if you assume a very close election, but it isn't predictive.  If Romney opens up a 5 point lead, then the polling in swing states is irrelevant.

Currently Romney has been seeing an average of about 3 points in Rasmussen, with a D/R even sample and a likely voter screen.  This should continue to build as we get past the conventions and the 5% undecideds split 4/1 to the challenger.

Their entire coalition is built on abuse- and it certainly isn't the Republicans abusing them.

The main difference is, as you point out, theirs is less public- or at least less visible.

I wonder if it's starting to dawn on the LSM, that if Barky loses, a lot of unwelcome attention will be placed on how they handled the last 4 years.  Maybe they are just starting to realize they sold their soul to the devil and got nothing but a complete loss of credibility in return.
