— Ace The racist cartoon appearing in the leftwing hate-site the "LA Times" is based upon a 1939 film about the antebellum south called "Gone with the Wind." The LATimes is a blog which also features a limited-run print edition, chiefly purchased by footwear giant Foot Locker, to stuff into the toes of sneakers to keep their shape during storage and display.

The cartoon, depicting then-Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice as the black slave maid from that film, employed the stereotype of the servile black (common in films from this period) to heighten the charge that Ms. Rice is an "Uncle Tom" or "house slave," disparaging racist terms used by elements of the fringe left to denigrate blacks who deviate from leftist ideology.
"It's perplexing that the LA Times never apologized for this cartoon," said one expert, after I told him to say it, "given that they recently claimed that a parody of Michelle Obama as Maire Antoinette was racist. After all, there is absolutely no inherent racial symbolism in the painting of Marie Antoinette, whereas the LATimes' cartoonist choose an image of slave, in a movie largely about slavery, during a period when blacks were frequently depicted in a racist manner. While the portrayal of the slave maid is given a pass by most modern-day cinephiles, due to admiration for the movie as a whole, the depiction itself is hair-raisingly racist and cliched. It shows a profound racial animus on the part of Jeff Danziger, and his employers at the LATimes, to choose to parody Ms. Rice with such a deliberately racially-edged image."
"I'm outraged!," said no one at Media Matters, an organization which exists chiefly to accuse conservatives of racism for political purposes. Media Matters, which is chiefly read through Andrew Breitbart's Twitter feed, was not bothered for comment, because, let's face it, we know what they'd say.

As a Michigan panel considers whether a state-appointed emergency manager should take over Detroit’s debt-laden budget, some residents and leaders are arguing that the move would disenfranchise black voters.“How come all of the jurisdictions put under emergency management are majority African American? Has anybody noticed that?” asked Rep. John Conyers (D), who has represented Detroit for 47 years. “There seems to be a racial aspect, a racial component of the application of this law.”

Thanks for your letter.
In fact the idea for the cartoon was suggested to me by a friend who is African-American. It wasn't racist. Nor am I. I have been doing this for nearly thirty years, and any review of my work will prove that no racism attaches. Further, I am a decorated Vietnam veteran who voted for Nixon once, GHW Bush twice and even for Bob Dole. So keep your labels.
Nothing racist about it at all. Just the standard lies told by a political operative, out of her depth, who happens to be African- American. Whenever this administration is in trouble they send out Condi Rice because the press, which is mostly white and male, gives her a far easier treatment than they would a white male.

As the US economy improves, the world economy improves. As economies improve the demand for oil goes up. As demand goes up, THE PRICE skyrockets because the supply hasn't been increased.

As for the depictions of Connie Rice vs Big Butt Boomba that is just more of their stupid logic. Anything that doesn't depict them in an adoring worshipful; light is racist. Anything that depicts a black Republican in a disparaging light is truth to justice.
You can not ask for logic from these people. After all, if they had a brain they would not be liberal Democrats..
And one last point about GWTW. Does anyone ever ask why this film has always been so popular among women? It is because it is the first epic soap opera AND that ace was what the film was truly about. The civil war and slavery was just a backdrop for scenery and to thicken the plot.

Move on follks. Nothing to see here. It's the same old same old that you always get from the Los Angeles Times. The LA Times ceased to be a serious newspaper maybe 30 years ago--descending into liberal cartoon land.
Lately folks have been noticing and their print circulation has taken a dump to the point that, as my old drill sarge said, it's lower than whale shit.

I calmly and politely told him that I felt the cartoon re: Condi Rice was racist. He then stuttered, sputtered, gasped, and yammered crap about being a Vietnam Vet (as the email shows above). I did not get the connection and told him so (I think he meant he was patriotic due to his Vietnam service, which then allowed him to be racist behind a shield). He then said something stupid about my Southern accent and racism and I told him I might be a redneck princess but I am not a racist, and that he should apologize to Secretary Rice. The call ended with him in a hissy-fit and I remember laughing in surprise that I talked to him. I had not thought anything about this strange call again until last night.
I am sure this morning he is jogging to this therapist's office again and looking over his shoulder in terror. The cartoon was actually stripped of the archives but many saved it for posterity and today's example of real racism. Seriously, he was freaked out with the criticism and the fact that people would actually call a phone number to complain to his highness.

For those who don't already know, Jeff Danzinger hails from the Democratic Socialist Peoples Republic of Vermont. He also does or has done a local strip called the "The Teeds"dipicting the fobils of rual vermonters. He has even published paperbacks of this strip. I own one.
This was of course before he became a political cartoonist and discovered that there was a big demand and lots of outlets for hate and ridicule of republicans and consrvatives. And racial hate and ridicule of black republicans and conservatives. And it's OK, because he's a LIBERAL. And I'am sure the money and fame is ok by him too.

"The worst part of it is, Condoleeza Rice is better educated and far more accomplished than Michelle Obama ever will be."
You know, you can take any two well-known people who happen to be sort of equated in stature in the public mind, but are of opposite political persuasions, and the conservative will usually win that contest. That goes double if they are women. It is because the media megaphone will overhypes the liberal's smarts, beauty, character, and significance, and do exactly the opposite to the conservative, and most people ultimately fall into line with the propaganda they are drenched in every day. Most don't even know or care that they are being taught how to think - it is so much easier to just go along, and hell, the cool kids may even smile at you.
Example: Sarah Palin / Nancy Pelosi:
Smarts: No contest, unless by smarts you mean "aptitude for graft".
Significance: Comparative book sales, anyone?
Character: (Please, stop now.)
Beauty: (For the love of God, no more!)

The gist of tall of these Condi Rice cartoons was to brand her as a token hire by Bush; her only value was that she was black. If that, in addition to these ugly images, is not racist then I don't know what is.
