I remember when being successful was looked up to in America, when setting goals and achieving them was considered a noble deed.

Who won? Which one of them got the most undecided voters moving toward the ballot box with thier face in thier minds? Were any trending voters stopped dead in thier tracks, or even slowed a little and turned toward the other guy? It's a mess out here. None of the regular media is willing to call one of these stars a winner, because they don't want to lose viewers, readers, listeners, etc., and if noone will do our thinking for us, so what are we to do?!

It's talking about those tax rates that Obama said should not be raised a couple of years ago because it would hurt the weak economy. An economy very much like today's economy. Obama had two years with big majorities congress and they did nothing about the Bush tax rates. Obama is always hot to raise tax rates when he knows he can't.

I no longer believe in the "accidental paycheck" theory. Anyone who gets a paycheck for a decade or more is doing what their employer wants them to do. Sure, we can all get an accidental paycheck for a while -- maybe even a couple years. And those who work for gov't can get an accidental paycheck for a long fucking time. But nobody that works for a private firm can get an accidental paycheck for more than a decade -- these fuckers are exactly what the corporation that pays them wants them to be.

She may have a good argument there.
Posted by: Meremortal, channels Bob Cummings at October 16, 2012 10:27 PM (1Y+hH)
I really, really think that the RNC and Romney should DEMAND and get Ms. Crowley to publically apologize at the beginning of the next debate and that the apology is shown on all the channels covering the debate. She stepped out of her neutral role, told a lie, and should be called on it. If she was neutral, she would have said, "let's look at the transcript later, in the mean time, next question."
If she does not want to apologize, the head of the debate commission should make the public apology in her place. CNN should consider whether she continues her employment.
The RNC can demand action. They can use her other interruptions and interferences, like in F and F questions, the applause lines, the disparity in the amount of time given to Romney in BOTH debates, Ryan's disparity in time allowed, etc. Hammer the debate commission, play hardball, let them know their cushy little jobs are in jeopardy. This kneecapping of the Republicans in the debates has to stop.
WHY? Set the standard and a Bright Red Line in the sand. Her behavior was inexcusable. The next clown will think twice before opening their yap. And if they do not stop, tell the debate commission they are out of luck and out of a job.

151....because the deficit is so large and the nat'l debt is out of control, i think we can stand to keep cap-gains revenues up for the time being. ideally, double taxation would be ended, but for now, it's just not something over which i'm pulling out my violins!
Eliminating Capital Gains Taxes would stimulate the economy.
Think about it.
The economic stimulus that would happen from eliminating Cap Gains, would net more revenue for the government.
More jobs.
More income taxes from those jobs...more SS/Medicare taxes, as well.

>>Highlights?
8 People. 4 Women. 4 Men (1 an African American Male).
Romney swung one Male (2008 Obama) Voter, Pulled at least 2 Females off the fence, too.
Obama retained one Male Voter.
Even after persuasion by MSNBC Host re: Women's 'Equal Pay', Romney won over the vast majority.
Decisive debate win for Romney 6 / 8.

I pray you are wrong, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
Hillary is playing from the same script that resulted in us getting hit the first time.

192 Ahahahahaha... the more people keep talking about this Libya/Rose Garden thing, the better it gets. Totally highlighting his leadership fail. We need to keep pushing this for the rest of the week.
Yeah.
Because I think he was referring to 9/11, when he said that in the Rose Garden.
Not the current events....the big one, back in '01.
I'm thinking that's why Candy Crowley was trying to downplay it, and dissmiss it.
So that people wouldn't go back and look at the context.
'Nothing to see here...move along.

And how many years of focused immigration into the US from countries like Somolia, Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan? Yeah. I'm sure they've all assimilated into the culture.

You're not alone in thinking O maybe doesn't want to win-- I've been feeling that way since July. Either he doesn't want the job anymore (and he has complained about all the work and how he'd like to go to a park and feed birds or something) or he knows it's already in the bag 'cause it's being stolen. Or he's just a rotten campaigner and gives this impression, lol.

>>Obama fucked up the Arab spring by leading from behind
He fucked it up way before that.
He lost it all the minute he abandoned the Green Revolution in Iran.
He doubled down on Mubarak and that didn't pay off.
Then he went Fast and Furious on Libya and aided in the murder of Quadafy. No arrest, no attempt at justice, just a quick ass rape and a gangland killing.

If the "Obama bought me a phone" and "Obama's gonna buy me a car" set start to think of Romney as a better provider...
Watch the start of the MSNBC focus group clip, and see if you don't hear a bit of that in one of the new Romney voters.

Obama can no long rely on traditional Democrat vote fraud mechanisms in many areas without getting caught and turned in by disgruntled Dems.
OFA is too new and too young to have developed its own established methods of fraud and integrated them within the local political apparatus.
Vote fraud is a very very local thing. Its all those nice little old ladies and men who smile at you working the tables who facilitate it and turn a blind eye. They're not reliable anymore. An offer of say $500,000 rewards to fraud whistle blowers will have them turning each other in by the truckload if anyone tries to do anything.
I'm not even sure the party apparatchiks can tell who has gone soft. People who turn on Obama tend not to talk about it much unless they know they're in a safe environment.
