Posted by: mama winger in Paul Ryan's district at August 29, 2012 05:05 PM (P6QsQ)

53 (Re-posted): I'm listening to Milt Rosenberg's interview of John Fund about voter fraud, and it reminded me of something I was thinking during a loooooooooot of driving earlier today: How is it that Demotards piss and moan about oh-so-helpless minorities not having ID on the one hand while on the other mocking conservatives as rubes with no passports?

Posted by: logprof at August 29, 2012 05:05 PM (7uUmW)

54 This sounds like the more astute and polite version of 'Obama is a SCOAMF'.

Posted by: mama winger in Paul Ryan's district at August 29, 2012 09:04 PM (P6QsQ) I'd settle for delegates that purport to represent the 81% of Nevadans who didn't vote for Luap Nor, to actually represnt those Republicans rather than worship at the alter of their man-god Luap Nor!

104 The thing about Portman is that he's a genuinely fascinating guy IN PERSON.  Seriously: he's done a metric crapton of amazing, impressive stuff, been all over the world, is a fitness and extreme sports buff, nice guy, etc.

It's just that he projects banality like an adolescent bonobo projects erections.

Posted by: Jeff B. at August 29, 2012 05:09 PM (/COnL)

105 This seems like a convention speech from 1940.

Political generalities, little specifics, and the crowd is treating the speech itself as ancillary.

Posted by: AD at August 29, 2012 05:09 PM (2aHF+)

106 Rob Portman said 'bonds' and 'Middle East' in the same sentence, dog whistles for Obama's black and muslim heritage all at once!

117 We're not beholden to the middle east for oil.  The rest of the world is.  We get almost all of ours in the Western Hemisphere.  We certainly should be pumping much  more of our own and not be beholden to Mexico or points south, but the middle east is more of a world play.

Posted by: Dick Nixon at August 29, 2012 09:51 PM (VrVBw) There shouldn't be, but there are. Especially after the stupid Akin crap. I had an argument with a few of my Evangelical relatives over it. They felt like the guy was abandoned for being too prolife. Didn't quite get that it was because he was an idiot. And they were all amen-ing Huckabee's complaints about the whole debacle. Much as i dislike him, I think him getting up and giving a very full-throated endorsement of Romney helps.
