— Ace One thing about this ad-- it includes a parade of media quotes noting the ad is "unfair" and "low" and such.
It doesn't include one saying the ad is untrue.
I think that's important.
The campaign says this is a "real ad," not just a web wonder, and will run on TV in swing states.
Still time to edit "untrue and misleading" into it, guys.

This. Actually, I think we need to start linking Barky inextricably to the following two terms:
1) Miserable Failure
2) Liar
Every ad should contain at least one of those two descriptors for the SCOAMT.

James Hayes Jr., who now is New YorkÂ’s top Homeland Security cop, claims Napolitano filled top spots in Washington, D.C., with two of her gal pals who were bent on tormenting male employees.
The suit identified them as Dora Schriro, who is now running the city Department of Correction, and Suzanne Barr, the chief of staff for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Soon after Schriro and Barr were hired in January 2009, male staffers were treated like lapdogs, Hayes claims.
Barr “moved the entire contents of the offices of three employees, including name plates, computers and telephones, to the men’s bathroom at ICE headquarters,” the suit says.
Barr also stole a male staffer’s BlackBerry and fired off a message to his female supervisor indicating that he “had a crush on [her] and fantasized about her,” Hayes claims.

For instance, Romney once noticed that a friend of his, Grant Bennett, was missing from a meeting of Mormon leaders; he ended up going over to Bennett’s house, after hearing that Bennett had fallen off a ladder when trying to remove a hornet’s nest from his home’s exterior. Romney didn’t merely extend his condolences — that night, he returned to Bennett’s home, and removed the hornet nest.
Can you imagine SCOAMF and a hornet nest? He'd hand off "call a professional exterminator" to a staffer, then take full credit.

I'm REALLY hoping that he does this in his convention speech, when a shitolad of people will be watching and there's no filter from the Obamedia. In fact, I'd like him to START the speech saying:
"Good evening, fellow Americans. I'm Mitt Romney. And contrary to what you've heard, I didn't cause the BP oil spill, the Exxon Valdez, or the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. But you know what? Barack Obama DID cause a million women to lose their jobs. He DID throw a half a billion of YOUR money into Solyndra and then worry only about how its failure might make him look bad. He DID tell the Catholic Church that its hosptials and schools are not considered to be religious organizations by his government." &c &c.

It's not so much the ad copy but the visuals that are the strength of this ad.
Team Romney didn't flat out call the murder ad "untrue" because elements of the ad are factual. Look at the image that leads off this video: It's probably one of the Mack Daddiest of any preazy pic out there. Romney's theme is that the guy at the helm is a crum. That's the subtext here, and the theme of many of his prior campaign ads: the dude is not a leader.
If the nation felt fat and happy it wouldn't matter if the preazy elected were a rapist who made deals that benefited his Indonesian donors to the detriment of American citizens, for instance. But when so many are hurting, people want the Adult in the Room. That's the case Romney is making. It's not necessary to stress that: Hey! I really didn't kill the Soptic woman, you see!

This is a nice start for Mitt....I like the end about saying or doing anything to stay in power.....I think for Mitt this is a good beginning!. There could be some tweaks like "ad untrue" but it hits Obama with Character issues and begins to undercut the narrative about Obama. Crossroads Ace has an AD that just came out on this that is over 1 minute long and it is excellent. Please post that as well!! Combine the two and that is what Conservatives need to see as fighting back. I like it and want to see more of it!!
Good Start Mitt!! Excellent job Crossroads!! Hit Obama over and over and over!! Once you open doubt on his character (which is why his likeability stays high) then the ECONOMIC RECORD will destroy him!!

@161 Exactly right. GREAT visuals in this ad. And what it does is the perfect jujitsu - doesn't say the ad is unfair, says it is classless to use a dead woman for political gain. Which it is, in the eyes of 99% of non-Marxist Americans.
It's really good.

Before Obamacare raises the prices of everything so much we can't afford pizza.

I'd be willing to bet the Romney team favors the term "unfair" or "low" over "dishonest" or "lying" because some focus group favors it. This hits at the female demographic, who might not react well to an in your face charge, like lying. Beside, they'll still respect a liar; a creepy guy, not so much.

Women will HATE any candidate that uses a woman's death to score political points. We do not like sleazy campaigns. We know candidates stretch the facts now and again, but this is just WRONG. Burton thought this ad would tug at women's heartstrings. Romney's ad turns it back on him.

Especially when a Paul Ryan forearm reveal would bring hordes of suburban female voters panting and sweating to the polls, to enthusiastically cast their ballot for him.

There's a perfect comeback to the newest Obama attack ad on Romney's taxes too, and I hope they do it as a continuation of this ad.
"Barack Obama's running a camapign that even the Washington Post says is sleazy. Now he wants you to think about what his opponent has done with his own money. Why? Because he doesn't want you to think about what he's doing with YOUR money. Solyndra. Subsidies and tax breaks for his rich Hollywood friends. Thousands of new federal government jobs, but no jobs for us.
America deserves better."

Personally, I want and expect to be hearing variations upon this theme over and over and over again, all throughout the election.
Among other things, this campaign theme castrates any negative Obama ads going forward--all the Romney campaign will need to do in response is repeat the campaign theme. It turns the typical Democrat lie-smear-and-cheat campaign style against them. They can either go further negative, just widening the opening for this theme to be more effective, or they can go positive (oh, wait, they can't go positive, because the economy sucks).
Romney ain't McCain. Romney's got sharp elbows and knows how to use them.
My hope, bordering on expectation is that because of Romney's aggressive counterpunching, somewhere along the line Obama is going to publically lose it bigtime, in a manner which makes "You didn't earn that!" look like a minor misstatement.
