Romney Attacking Obama On His Recent Gaffes The Media Doesn't Report
— Ace

Only way to get the media to report them is to carry the story yourself.

This is why I laughed so hard when Joe Scarborough, a "real conservative" on MSNBC, claimed the media would have covered the foreign policy disaster of our butchered embassy workers if only Mitt Romney had not issued a press release.

Romney is attacking Obama for "jumping the gun" on claiming the embassy attack was "spontaneous" and "not a planned terrorist attack" and "caused by a YouTube video" -- mimicking Obama's "shoot first, aim later" quip -- and also for calling the four murders he could have prevented "bumps in the road."

Obama also claims Iran's threat to attack Israel is just "noise."

What is the White House response?

Â“His indication that developments in the Middle East represent bumps in the road is a very different view than I have,Â” the Republican candidate told ABC News. Â“I canÂ’t imagine saying something like the assassination of ambassadors is a bump in the road.Â”
Romney gave a similar comment to NBC News. Â“There are extraordinary events going on in the Middle East and considering those events, either one of them or all of them collectively, as bumps in the road shows a person who has a very different perspective about world affairs [than] the perspective I have,Â” he said.
Shortly after the interviews, while speaking to a crowd in Pueblo, Colo., Romney declared, Â“These are not bumps in the road, these are human lives.Â”

Well, to call Romney's statements "desperate and offensive," and claim Obama was talking about something else. Context, you see.

Gee, the great Orator sure needs a lot of clean-up on his remarks.

This doesn't work. When Obama is talking about the recent problematic phase in the Arab Spring -- as Jay Carney insists he was -- he is also talking, unavoidably, about the primary problem as it affects Americans, to wit, the murders of four Americans.

In other words, once again, the "context" is just that he's saying exactly what Romney says he was saying, but they want to claim the "context" transforms it into something completely different.

Amen....glad to see Mitt doing this. For crying out loud....the President has lauded himself over his ME success and it is a disaster!! He is 100 percent correct for this "bumps in the road" remark. That is so darn insensitive and ignorant it is embarrassing. 4 dead Americans in a major security breach and failure lies at the feet of the President. The same President that has had no problem SPIKING the BALL over the death of Bin Laden (remember he is sensitive to Muslims...I guess except when he likes to spike the ball!!) now tells all of us how sensitive Americans need to be to Muslims. The President's ME policy is a joke and is falling problem. We have an Islamist Winter brewing in the ME!!

Good idea.

1. Since Romney is the Republican nominee, he is closer than anyone else besides Obama to being President.

2. The closer people are to being President, the more they share the blame.

Normally, this would still mean that Obama would get more of the blame than Romney, HOWEVER...

I'd heard it as "grandparents" earlier today, too. That said, even her great-grandparents would be a stretch, though less of one.

"No, I am not taking this out of context. I am taking it out of the shadows, where the media makes sure this President's shocking naievete and dissembling about the facts goes unreported."

When are Republicans going to figure out that treating the media respectfully is a sucker's game, and start calling them names and calling them out - there is literally nothing to lose, and in fact there is mutual respect to be gained: Americans largely detest the media.
