Romney Campaign Swag! AOSHQ **EXCLUSIVE!!**
— LauraW

We got this stuff through a friend of the guy down at the place near that bar that time.
Merchandise that was rejected by the top brass in the Romney campaign. But I don't know why. It's good stuff. Might as well put it out there. Besides, it didn't cost nuthin'.

We here at AOSHQ have decided to distribute these discarded tchotchkes to help conservatives cast their vote for Romney.

I have to say, I'm impressed with the quality, but especially the thoughtfulness. These Romney people, they know conservatives. They know you.

These are useful things. Behold. This would make a fine gift for any Tea Party Patriot in your life. Keeps both your hands free to vote for Willard.

It sure would be nice to no longer smell your own despair-sweats, eh?

This thumbtack is specifically designed to help conservatives deal with their anguish. Just place it inside your shoe or spike it into your thigh before you go pull the lever for Mittens.

It gives you a more pleasant sensation to concentrate on.

Finally, this was a surprising choice. The promo card just has one word on it.

"Genitals."

These people, they think of everything.

We got a truckload of this great stuff. Have at it, Morons. Spread it around.

And hey- if you go down to vote and the place is full of people staggering about in obvious agony, it means our side is winning! YAAYYY!

Thanks to Hotspur and cob Andy for the p-shops.

BO said this today:

Pointing at Republicans, Obama said: "They think you have amnesia. They think you've forgotten how we got into this mess."

He said this yesterday:

President Obama sounded hopeful Friday night in Texas over recent good news on the economy.

“We're obviously still in the midst of a lot of struggles for a lot of people, but the trend lines are good,” Obama said during a campaign speech in Houston.

“And the reason is because so many of you believed in the same vision that I believe in: An America where if you work hard, if you take responsibility, if you're willing to apply yourself, you can make it if you try here, no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, no matter what your name.”

109 I know that some of you like to pretend that there exists some "pro-Romney" cohort here at AoS, but it's simply not true. There are, in fact, two groups here at AoS. One group is Anti-Romney. All they do is complain and whine and repeat the same things day after day. The other group is the Defeat Obama segment of AoS. This group understands the facts on the ground and accepts reality. Well let me give you mine:

1. He has been very successful running things like a bussiness, the olympics and a state. The other candidates don't have that experience.

2. I like his policy positions on taxes, health care, immigration and defense.

3. He has already proven he is far more organized than the other candidates, he actually got on the ballot in the state he lives in along with the other 57 states. This goes back to his ability to run things. The other two candidates can't even run their own campaigns.

4. You many think that having experience in successfully running big organizations isn't important. It is very important, we are talking about running the biggest organization in the world now.

If you have similiar or different qualifiations for Santorum or Gengrich let's hear them instead of the constant snark.

So far the only qualifications other than Perry for the job have been that they are not Romney. By the way I was backing Perry on this blog until he imploded and started with the OWS crap. Then I quit backing him.

148 The Nation of Islam’s official newspaper The Final Call on Saturday published an opinion piece attacking “minion of the synagogue of Satan” Glenn Beck for his recent comments about Louis Farrakhan, vowing it will “not allow such vicious assaults” on the movement’s leader. During his radio show Feb. 27, Beck discussed Farrakhan’s warning that racial hatred could lead to an attempt on President Barack Obama’s life, even suggesting that a Muslim could be set up to kill him. Beck wondered whether the warning could be a kind of set up to draw attention from Farrakhan and his followers — Farrakhan in the past has called Obama a “murderer” and “assassin.” “I’m telling you this is a clear and present danger to the president of the United States,” Beck said. “Will someone in the Secret Service or DOJ investigate what is happening at the Nation of Islam?”

225 253 - I've been sure since December that Mitt was going to win the nomination, and I've been pretty sure for the last couple years that the R nominee, whoever it is, will win the White House this November. I believe the opposition to Mitt's candidacy serves a purpose. The hope is that he gets it, that he realizes he is required to listen to, and move in the direction of people to his right. There is some evidence that he's doing that. His tax plan, which is very inadequate, and would stand little chance of passing, was an effort to shore up "his" base, especially in places like Michigan and Ohio. We could talk about what's wrong with his tax plan if you like, but my point is simple. I'm not going to let up on Mitt, not here in these threads, and not in REAL LIFE because I believe it's the responsible thing to do, given that he's the only choice we have. Clear enough? I'm not asking you to agree with me, but I have no hidden agenda. That's it.

235 Awww.....some little libtard in my town got her panties in a wad because her vote for Obama wasn't counted on Super Tuesday:

ObamaÂ’s vote total should have been reported

In your Tuesday primary election results coverage, you completely ignored the third place finisherÂ’s results. It was as if the 2,301 of us in Chatham County and the 138,807 of us statewide who voted for President Obama are meaningless to you.

Granted, we voted in no more than a beauty contest. We did vote in the election and as such, deserve our results to be printed.

I understand in subscribing to your paper that your copy will always show your corporationÂ’s view against those of us who want free equal access to public education for all, believe that all citizens in our society deserve equal access to health care, including women, and want all working citizens to earn a living wage with health and safety benefits that a union would provide.

I read your newspaper daily with the understanding that you believe that straight white Christians are the chosen ones. I pay for your newspaper understanding your positions.

I attended Newt GingrichÂ’s event Friday morning. He told all of us to go vote and to tell all our friends to do likewise. I did.

I, along with 2,300 others here in Chatham and 138,806 other citizens in Georgia, proudly cast my ballot for President Obama to have a second term.

Your bias I can tolerate; selecting only certain election results as worthy for publication goes too far.

278 If you haven't been back since, then maybe a trip back wouldn't be advisable. Too much has changed, mostly for the worse. Lots of the neighborhoods have declined terribly.

Only the upscale (Vestal) have remained as they were. Loss of a manufacturing base will do that I guess.

279 Rubio, or any other young up and coming conservative, has a LOT to lose by becoming Mitt's running mate.  Mitt, support him or not, has shown himself to be pretty damned inflexible on two points:  1) Mandates - he's got no problem with government health insurance.  This nonsense about "It's okay for a state to do it but not the Feds" is just feel-good cover.  I don't think that he'd veto a bill repealing Obamacare, though, so at least he has that going for him.  2) He has never conceded a conservative point, has never indicated that he gives a crap about our conserns, has never indicated that maybe, just maybe, more government isn't the answer.  Any politician running as #2 behind Romney will have to publically support these positions and that person will have his/her future creamed as a result.

281 Enterprise crew revels in ship’s long history By Brock Vergakis - The Associated Press Posted : Saturday Mar 10, 2012 14:45:27 EST NORFOLK, Va. — When the makers of “Top Gun” were filming on board the aircraft carrier Enterprise, they donated a set of black fuzzy dice to liven up the ship’s otherwise drab interior. A quarter-century later, the dice will still be dangling inside the tower of “the Big E” as the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier sets sail on its final voyage Sunday. The trinket is a reminder of the ship’s storied 50-year history that includes action in several wars, a prominent role in the Cuban missile crisis and serving as a spotter ship for John Glenn’s historic orbit of the earth. “To serve on this ship, certainly in this capacity, you certainly have to be a student of the ship’s history,” said Rear Adm. Walter Carter, commander of the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group. “Fifty years of service, in our nation’s history, we’ve never had a warship in service that long.” Enterprise is the longest aircraft carrier in the U.S. fleet. It is also the oldest, a distinction that brings pride as well as plenty of headaches for the ship’s more than 4,000 crew members. The ship is effectively a small city that frequently needs repairs because of its age. It was originally designed to last 25 years, but a major overhaul in 1979 and other improvements have extended its life. The ship largely looks like any other carrier on the inside and has modern amenities like gyms, a coffee shop and a television station with dozens of channels. It even produces its own daily newspaper while at sea. But even the best-maintained ship faces challenges as it ages. “It’s kind of like when you get older and you know it’s harder to get out of the bed in the morning. It takes you a couple hours to kind of really get up and then you’re fine. Well, it’s the same sort of thing here with Enterprise,” Capt. William Hamilton, the ship’s commanding officer, said days before the ship was set to deploy from Naval Station Norfolk. Hamilton acknowledged all aircraft carriers have problems they’re supposed to anticipate, but he said Enterprise is more likely to have “unknown unknowns” than newer ships. Machinists in charge of fixing unexpected problems say the things that can break down range from critical air conditioner units to elevators that lift fighter jets from the hangar bay to the flight deck not working. Moreover, Enterprise has eight nuclear reactors to maintain — six more than any other U.S. carrier. The problems are so notorious that sailors reporting to work aboard Enterprise are often given joking condolences by their colleagues on shore and on other ships. The ship regularly has to make its own parts from scratch when something breaks down. Spare parts for much of the ship, which is the only one of its class, simply don’t exist. “Life is hard on Enterprise,” Hamilton said. “But when they leave here, they leave knowing if they can do this, they can do anything.” The challenges aboard the ship and the need to keep spirits up were highlighted last year, when former commanding officer Capt. Owen Honors was fired for airing raunchy videos — while serving as the ship’s executive officer years earlier — that he said were intended to boost morale. During a hearing in which Honors was trying to avoid being kicked out of the Navy, he and his lawyers frequently referenced the difficult conditions on board. Honors was found to have committed misconduct, but ultimately allowed to stay in the service. He is retiring in April. Hamilton acknowledged that maintaining morale on the ship — which has unofficial mottos like “There’s tough, and then there’s Enterprise tough” and “We eat pain like candy” — is still vital. “As much as anything, it’s just telling them face to face that you appreciate, the Navy appreciates, the nation appreciates what they’re doing and then that goes a long, long way,” he said. There’s also the added bonus of the ship’s crew members feeling particularly proud to serve on a ship whose name has a distinguished place in naval history and pop culture. Crew members who weren’t even alive when “Top Gun” was in theaters in 1986 use the film to explain what it is they do on the ship, as well as exactly where it is they do it. For Petty Officer 1st Class Brian Dennis, there’s also pride in his ship having the same name as the ship featured in the “Star Trek” series. He’s from Cairo, Ga., the same home town as “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry. “In a way I wanted to be part of this ship, to be on the last deployment, to be a part of that. Being from Cairo, that’s real huge,” he said. “I always wanted to be a part of history, so being on this last deployment it’ll be something I can definitely tell my children and grandchildren.” Enterprise is heading to the Middle East on its seven-month deployment, where it will be on standby in case of conflict with Iran or piracy threats off Somalia, among other things. The ship has experience with both scenarios, participating in a retaliatory strike against Iran for mining the Arabian Gulf in 1988 and responding last year to the hijacking of a sailing vessel by Somali pirates, during which all four Americans on board were shot and killed. The deployment will be the ship’s 22nd. Following its return to Virginia in the fall, tens of thousands are expected to be on hand for a deactivation ceremony Dec. 1 that President Obama has been invited to attend. But if “Top Gun” producer Jerry Bruckheimer wants to film a sequel, he’ll have to find another ship. The following summer, Enterprise will be towed to the shipyard where it was built in nearby Newport News so its nuclear fuel can be removed, a process that will take until 2015. What remains of the ship after that will then be taken to Washington state so it can be scrapped. The ship, among the first to respond after the Sept. 11 attacks, won’t be turned into a museum like some other carriers. Crews have to cut large holes in the vessel to remove the nuclear fuel, and it would be too expensive to repair, said Lt. Cmdr. Sarah Self-Kyler, Enterprise’s public affairs officer. Instead, many of the ship’s alumni want another carrier to be named Enterprise in the future. This is the eighth ship to bear the name Enterprise, and there’s a room on board dedicated as a museum to past incarnations. The preceding aircraft carrier Enterprise was the most decorated ship in World War II, while the first Enterprise joined the U.S. fleet after it was captured from the British in 1775.

283 I am happily voting for Mitt over the communist fucktard in the White House.

I said these exact words to my brother last night!  (He's a rabid Ronulan--butthurt that Mittens won our primary.)

Then he said he's staying home in November...and I just lost it...our convo went something like this:

Me:  So, you'd rather vote for Obama than Romney?

Him: I said I'm not voting!

Me:  Bullshit.  Staying home is half a vote for the commie.  I can't believe you'd do that.

Him:  Well...but they're not that different.  They both suck.

Me:  Different nonetheless, and we know how badly Obama sucks.   Can't you agree that *anyone* else would be an improvement?

Him:  (wild-eyed stare)

Me:  Ok, which one of them would you want choosing next Supreme?

Him:  (still drooling a little)

Me:  Can you at least show up to vote for our House Rep. and the locals?

Him:  Okay, okay....I guess I need to do that....

Me:  And while you're there, put in a FULL vote *against* the death of America?

Him:  Jeez, sis.  But...yeah, that's right....Okay, I can do it.

Feels like I've pushed a 100lb rock uphill, but it *had to be done* and we'll both get behind ABO in November.

I need a glass of enthusiasm, anybody know where to get one?

346 @384 who cares what a conservative is... Would you rather have Obama or Romney? Figure it out dipshit.

347 I'm sticking with liquor.

348 @391 Shite dipper's full, bro'. Soros says it's a wash 'tween Lil Barry & Teh Romneybitch. I'll take his word for it. You probably use google, so look it up. You simply have no effin' idea how bad the 70s were because of LBJ, RMN, that hunky MI football star, Gerald Ford, and the former anti-Semite-in-Chief, Jimmy Carter. With my exquisite and infallible bitch-gauge, I place Teh Romneybitch almost exactly in the middle between LBJ and He-hate-Jews-Carter in terms of haplessness and Pure Evil. Naturally, you won't agree, because you don't have the benefit of my technological means nor possess my discernment. That's how we got the Dred Scot decision from SCOTUS, and that's also how we got that Fascist, Lincoln.

349 @393 You certainly are smart, with your Teh's and cool nicknames. I don't believe anything Soros says publicly. If he's your source you got problems already. I bet I don't have your tech means and god-like abilities. I don't remember the 70's. What matters is today. What's my point? Are you going to vote for Romney if he's the nominee, knowing that he's not perfect? If so, why all the bullshit about him. Or are you going to stay home and let Obama win because your guy's not the (R) nominee? Bottom line, if Obama's a 1, I'll take a 3,5 or 7 over him if that's all I got available. If there's no 10 in the race, what do you do? Get behind the guy who's better than the current bad guy and can win. Please tell me where I'm going wrong. I so need your discernment.

350 The Romney Election Shake-weight

It looks and feels like you're getting off, but without the actual satisfaction of orgasm... or hope for the future.

@391 "Would you rather have Obama or Romney?  Figure it out dipshit."

So you can blame this diaster on conservatives? No thanks.

I voted for Dole because of asshats like you, ya milquetoast POS.  And then I voted for McCain because of jackass-rationalizers like you.  I'm not voting for your jerk-off this time just because you tagged an "R" after his name.

See you in 2016.

353 People who complain about having to hold their noses while voting for Romney must not remember the toxicity of having to vote for McPain last time around.  At least I sort of like Romney, but with McPain it was only tolerable due to the presence of Palin.

Ahhh, lovely Stinking Gingrich:

He endorsed PRO-ABORTION, same-sex marriage activist Dede Scozzafava for Congress. WHAT??!!   Yes, Gingrich indeed did this.

He was sanctioned and fined $300,000.00 by the REPUBLICAN House for:  Ethical Wrongdoing.

However, it was a Bi-Partisan Reprimand. That is: a Majority of Democrats PLUS a Majority of Republicans collectively said:  Dude, you have significant moral problems!!! Get lost, scoundrel – we donÂ’t trust your nasty ass.

Thusly, Stinky Ginky resigned in appropriate DISGRACE.

Newt also voted to create Jimmy CarterÂ’s Department of Education.   What!!!!!    Yes – Stinky Ginky did this too.    So fucking sad.

And Nut Gingrich supported TARP and multiple other Bailouts.

Moreover:  Stinky Ginky was paid $1.8  Million by Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac for his “advice”.  Yes, dirty Newt Gingrich personally took big money from these hugely destructive organizations – in exchange for his endorsement.

Why?  Because Gingrich is a Money-Grubbing Craven Lobbyist, thatÂ’s why.

Also Gingrich co-sponsored 418 bills with Nancy Pelosi. – This is an IRREFUTALBE Fact of Record. – Look it up. ItÂ’s true.

For over TWENTY YEARS Gingrich supported a FEDERAL Individual Health Care Mandate:  just like Barack Obama,  Bill Clinton & Hillary Clinton.   (FACT: Mitt Romney NEVER supported an individual mandate at the Federal level.)

He canoodled on the couch with Nancy Pelosi while swooning over global warming – in a national commercial. – He really wanted to get the message out!

And from the very beginning:  Newt Gingrich supported Cap & Trade.

WORST: Gingrich shamelessly bashed Congressman Paul Ryan's Entitlement Reform Proposal as: "right-wing social engineering”.

Just take Paul RyanÂ’s exact quote for it:  "With friends like Newt Gingrich who needs the left!!"

Yes.  Who indeed?  Â– Well, his ignorant supporters, maybe.

So...  Thank your lucky stars that our choices are either Mitt Romney or Santorum.

We can gleefully kick Stinky Ginky to the rotten curb... where he fucking  belongs.

Thank you God above. – For sparing us the IGNOMINIOUS fate of Stinky-Fucking-Ginky.

358 Keep up with the purist conservative thoughts and we will have 4 more Obama and 2 more Ginsberg/Sotomayer's.  It's not worth is folks.

359 What don't you get Snoop-Diggity-DANG-Dawg? I don't blame conservatives. I'm wondering what the argument is about the choices. We all have our choice. Santorum Paul Gingrich Romney etc. what I'm saying, and I still don't have a viable answer is, why all the hate. If Romneys the guy, isn't he better than Obama? Aren't they all better than Obama? I don't really like any of them, but theyre ALL BETTER THAN OBAMA! The point is to get rid of Obama, we don't have the luxury of a true conservative this year that can beat Obama. What to do??? Hmm, I know, get behind the (R) candidate, whoever it is and BEAT OBAMA. Why cant some of you people figure it out. Again, tell me where I'm going wrong. If your ideal candidate is Jim Demint, great, he ain't runnin'. What are you going do, stay home an let Obama win? Vote for your guy until its clear he ain't gonna win. But quit talking do much $hit about the other (R) candidates. One of them is need to beat Obama. Vote for the better than Obama candidate. If Obama's a 1, Romneys a 3, Gingrich is a 5 and Santorums a 7, with 10 being a true conservative, (your ideal guy) they're all better than Obama. Let's hope one of them can beat him. Next time (2016), try to get more true conservatives running. Problem is, and I hate to say it, but they probably can't win the general election unless the (D) candidate is an idiot. I don't like that any more than you do, but it's the truth. Figure it out DIPSHIT!
