Romney to Obama: Start Packing
— Ace

In the first video clip, Diane Sawyer asks if people can possibly relate to someone who has a car elevator in his garage. She of the $10 million NYC pied-a-terre she bought from Robert Redford (steeply discounted from $15 million).

She uses the "such unimaginable wealth is all so incredible to me I have difficulty saying the words" voice.

So not the exact Soap Opera Acting I predicted, but I close substitute.

In the second clip, Romney goes on to tell Obama, on behalf of all of us, that We Need To Talk.

I can relate to that better than I can a community organizer (whatever that is) whose best pal is a Communist terrorist.

What was the last relatable president? In order to be president you either have to be a) Rich enough to run or b) politically connected enough to run (e.g. been in politics a while) or c) some combination of a) and b).

Heck I don't think I've related to a politician above state level since I was naive and 13 and thought they cared.

You sure, you sure? You better check yourself,” he said. “Because leadership is nothing to play with, because people tomorrow — maybe in a few days — are going to kill their leaders who have been selling them out. That‘s why we’re in the shape we’re in right now because we had corrupt people or people who started out good and got corrupted.”

A neighbor who is something of a legal scam artist bought the vacant lot next to his house and built a house-sized multicar garage in it, with special flooring so he could wash his cars there in the winter.

Didn't bother me a bit, since by chance he'd gonged on me before he moved there, but I'd successfully divined that he was a scam artist. I'd have been pissed if I'd been paying for it, though.

Um, there are lots of rich liberals who have lots of cars and lots of houses too.  Statistically there are more rich liberals.  Conservatives nowadays are the members of the beleagured middle class, not the Wall St. rich guys.  The real money is on the left.

And Jay Leno has multiple garages all over the place full of his cars, he collects them like kids collect beer cans.  Does that make Leno a bad guy in Diane Sawyer's eyes?

The camera then cuts to aerial footage of the three adjacent homes that Cameron inhabits in the hills of Malibu. Although they each have heated swimming pools, and together boast more than 24,000 sq ft of living space, the properties have not a single energy-saving solar panel or windmill between them. "He also owns a 100-acre ranch in Santa Barbara, a JetRanger helicopter, three Harleys, a Corvette, a Ducati, a Ford GT, a collection of dirt bikes, a yacht, a Humvee fire truck, and a fleet of submarines," continues the narrator. Jane....I dunno which pain pills you have, but you can usually get away with taking another one, if the first one isn't enough to do the trick.

Doctors used to tell people this. But now I think they are too afraid of getting sued, or being accused of getting someone hooked on them.

You can call your doc....as someone upthread mentioned. But I doubt that taking another pill, just for the first few days, is going to hurt you. ....Also, you can look up your meds on those sites that give info on meds, and see under 'side effects' if there is going to be a risk in taking more than one.

Remember Barry talking about the price of arugula in the grocery stores?

I wonder if Teh Won is still "enchanted" about his WH gig.  I know he's said he misses squeezing fruit on Saturday mornings.  Hopefully, next January he'll be able to squeeze all the fruit he wants, and Mooch can spend every dime they have on ugly shoes, purses, boob belts and earrings.

Obama gets 49% or 445.9 people out of 910. Out of those 445.9 people, CNN says that 22% are conservative or 98 people.

So CNN found 98 people out of 910 who describe themselves as "conservative" but Obama agrees with them the most on their important issues???? That's 11% of the whole sample.

295 President Obama erred during a speech at the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia, when attempting to call the disputed archipelago by its Spanish name. Instead of saying Malvinas, however, Mr Obama referred to the islands as the Maldives, a group of 26 atolls off that lie off the South coast of India. It takes someone with a very limited understanding of geography to confuse the Maldives, a sovereign country near India, with the Malvinas, a political name attached to islands that are actually called the Falklands. For starters, the two island chains are in different oceans, more than 8,000 miles apart. The Falklands are in the south Atlantic; Maldives are in the Indian Ocean. Of more importance, though, is Obama’s decision to wade into a sensitive issue between two of our allies in this way. The Falklands war was 30 years ago this month. The Argentine government has been ratcheting up anti-British rhetoric, demanding that the UK hand “Las Malvinas” over, and threatening to invade again. In his summit speech Obama claimed that the US is neutral, which was our official stance during the 1982 war and is now, but attempting to use the name “Malvinas,” and then bungling that, can be taken to suggest that he isn’t so neutral and would side with Argentina against the British.

We need to turn this around on the Dems: Mitt is successful --the very definition of the "American Dream"-- and  since  we ALLwant to be successful  we should elect the guy who is so successful he even has an elevator in his garage! Lavish vacations that I pay for with my tax money, and all the while I get to listen to this prick tell me I'm not paying enough in taxes. The media won't be looking at what he will be doing - giving favors to his cronies, issuing pardons for payment to murderers and drug dealers (some of whom he probably knows all too well), or selling off the White House china, one plate and spoon at a time. A cornered rat is always dangerous. A man leaving a job forever, who has nothing to lose and unlimited power to do it, will do just about anything. And he will.

554 Note to Romney: Spray for Roaches.

555 I think the response to someone building a car elevator for their garage is to say "cool, I wish I had one"

556 I'd love to see Obama try to pardon Mumia. The PA State Police, let alone the Philly PD, would be using Mumia's dreadlocked head for target practice on his way out the door.

DonÂ’t settle for NOTHING (Zero or Zero) (i.e., Romney or Obama). America needs a real leader with real accomplishments as a conservative.  Please dump Mittens in Tampa and then draft Perry/West.  Real leadership and real defense of what makes America great (and no heartlessness).  Tort reform, low taxes, jobs, and real growth for the economy  and military experience . . . Perry/West are the MEN America needs now!  NO MORE WIMPS IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

558 Car elevators are the new luxury yachts.

I can't imagine watching Diane Sawyer for longer than about 10 seconds. I can barely make it through the ploddingly patronizing tone of the promos she does on GMA: "And tonight we'll take you inside the new craze that's sweeping the world of pet grooming, and how it could mean dozens of new jobs for America! Also, the Octomom is speaking out on high school bullying! She sets the record straight in this moving interview. You don't want to miss this!"

559 Romney telling Obama to start packing is the smartest thing he's said during the entire campaign.

560 Maybe in 2008 Barky's snake power were ascendant, and they have declined since then. My speculation is that on one of his trips overseas, Barky got a hold of some" Not-Quite-Right" dog meat, and a "Rabid Dog" power over took him.

I really don't know if this could be true. I wasnÂ’t raised to believe that if you eat the meat of various animals you gain the powers and attributes of those animals so my understanding of this phenomenon is limited.  But it would explain the decline of Barky's  magnetism over the last few years.
