The part of his broadcast that has been replayed, which is all that I heard of it....he simply said: "Is she a slut?" ....A question...pertaining to the extraordinarily large cost of her birth control requirements.

Good  for  Rush.  It  was  a  real  apology  too - not  one  of  those  nuanced,   {i}I'm  sorry  if  anyone  was offended  by  my  choice  of  words  things we  so  often  hear.  Maybe  now  we  can  get  back  to  important  issues-  the  economy,  $4  a  gallon  gas,  Iran.  Or  at  least  fisk  Fluke  without  the  distratction  of  what  Rush  said.

   It's good that Rush apologized.  And yes, to the poster that asked if he really called her a slut.. he did.   I was listening to the show as I do two or three times a week and I was somewhat shocked when he did it.  It's like he doesn't learn from his past mistakes... remember the espn fiasco?  And that wasn't even name calling, he was just pointing out pc bullshit in the NFL.

    He is hated by the left because he exposes the lefts hypocracy on almost every issue, he is targeted by the left in everything he does, and then he sticks his foot in his mouth while exposing the idiocy of this vapid rent seaker that demands someone else pay for her own contraception.  His choice of word was foolish.

I do not grasp what is so hard to understand about this story. The numbers she sited were far too high for the pill. Do you understand that? I know that some people don't. The pill does not cost $1000 per year so that was obviously not her means of birth control or she is LYING.

Therefore, she must be using some other means. The only thing that she could use that would cost that much would be a plethora of condoms OR SHE IS LYING. Do you understand that?

If she is using that many condoms (which she is not because SHE IS LYING) then it would be 5 times per day with multiple partners. Do you get that ?

The whole point is that others shouldn't have to pay for her pleasure be it once or a 150 times per month.

I was responding to some idiot who objected to the word slut. If she's fucking many men multiple times per day she's a slut. But she's not because she's LYING.

..so I dodged that $9/month bullet. At least I've got that going for me. I also have bright red Pimento eyeballs. That's good too.

I wonder if my insurance covers a Head-Bucket to carry around my severed head. Oh well. I assume it doesn't. I'll grip it by the scalp.

I have several business collegues who also use Carbonite, I think I will encourage them to switch over as well. Very stupid of Carbonite to piss off this many people, Rush's audience is 20+ million, then there are all these other right leaning shows, Levin, etc.

Carbonite is not that big of a company, based on their financials they only make about 60 million in revenue, very stupid of them to piss off this big of an audience. Rush apologized, that was enough, but then to call this woman a "courageous woman", and insult the intellegeince of small business owners, who are predominanty the customers of this company. Very stupid of them. They've lost my business.

Yes, this was a very bad business decision for them.  Hosting tera-byte servers with mirroring in geo-redundant data centers is not cheap.  I don't expect they will be able to live with the drop in revenue in the long run.

Peaches, you may be correct, as I said I don't like Rush's show, so I don't listen to their ads on his show, however, I do listen to Levin sometimes, and I hear Levin actually do the ad himself. So, I assume most of their revenue has to come from talk radio due to the small businesses who use Carbonite, their Businesspremier plan the one I have to assume they make most of their revenues, the personal plans are not that expensive, the business ones are what a lot of small business owners use. And I have to assume a lot of small business owners listen to talk radio.

Their products are geared towards responsible people, really how many liberals, OWS types want to back up their files?

They basically just insulted many of their clients, which if you are a big corp you have a revenue buffer, but Carbonite isn't that big, I thought they were much bigger, but only 60 million in revenue?!?! and then they piss off all these small business owners, many of who listen  to Rush, Levin, etc? Very stupid of them.
