Sacré Bleu! S&P Expected To Downgrade France
— andy

A light dusting of old world DOOM! to kick off the weekend.

Standard & Poor's ratings agency has downgraded France's credit rating, French television channels reported on Friday, citing a government source.

...

Several euro zone countries including France face an “imminent” downgrade by ratings agency S&P, Reuters and Dow Jones news agencies reported, sending the euro to a session low against the dollar and European stocks down. US stocks also tumbled.

Maybe if Presidents Downgrade were keeping their eyes on their jobs, huh?

We have french neighbors about a 2 blocks away. Their only son is a giant pussy and starts flinching and screaming if my kid even walks within yards of him. I told my kid to just avoid him since he's such a whiner. Apparently one of my older boys said something about the french, so younger son gets confused and tells neighborhood that his mother doesn't want him near wussy boy because he's french. I'm unsure whether to correct this or not. What would I even say, "No, not because he's french but because he acts french?" Don't know if it's worth it. I could give a rats ass what they think, btw.

Posted by: dagny at January 13, 2012 07:04 AM (TCgts)

They're almost completely apolitical (if anything, he seems to lean somewhat conservative, but it's hard to tell) and they're full of (relatively sanitary) violence and bad-guys losing in the end.

I've been reading the latest Game of Thrones book, Dance With Dragons during my workouts.  I'm not a fast reader, and it takes me about an hour to do my workout.  It's a 1000 or so pages... it seems like I've been reading it forever.

I know some people soured on the series, because it took him so long to finally produce this book, but it's got everything and more: blood, guts, glory and sex, monsters, madmen and midgets (well, a dwarf), and all the other stuff anyone could want in a book series.  This is... what, the 5th book?  I lost count.  And it's been fun trying to remember characters from the previous volumes.
