— Ace Good piece on her latest claims.
The central deceit here -- engaged in not just by Sandra Fluke, but the entire liberal movement -- is to constantly speak of "access."
Access to birth control, access to health care.
"Access" is usually taken to mean you're permitted it. But they are using the word in a novel way -- in order to have "access," they maintain, someone else must be picking up the check for it.
If you're required to pay for a thing out of your own funds, you do not have "access."
They constantly attempt to mislead people with rhetoric designed to imply that the question here is about outlawing contraception.
Of course it's not. You could find only one voter in ten willing to even consider such a proposition.
The question is whether third-parties will be dragooned by yet another government law to cover yet another personal expense.
This is what they call "access" -- their ability to compel you to pay for their wants.
They should be hounded on this deceptive word choice, every time they employ it (which is always). Anytime they're on a talking head Sunday show, the conservative must ask them to define "access," and ask them why they've chosen to use that irregular usage of the term, if not to mislead.

Children of the governmentally employed....will now have "access" to their parent's taxpayer-provided healthcare benefits, until they are 26.
I think that this "access" to birth control....is somehow connected to this.

Dang me, I went into my local artisanal brew pub, thinking I'd like to have a Ballast Point Yellow Tail kolsch style beer. (A really, really good brewski made down in San Diego{
And you know that rotten skinflint there behind the tap --that sumbitch "denied me access" to a pint of that Yellow Tail unless I first paid him $5 for the pint!
Now Ms. Fluke can come down to the pub with me (she's kinda cute when she's mad) and maybe we can both get "access" to several pints of that Yellow Tail. Don't know about her attitude--which seems beyond adjustment--but mine would get adjusted alright.

How do we get "access" to all those freedoms that we've lost under this regime?
Posted by: wheatie
Those "inalienable rights"? Sorry, but it's all pay to play now under the Regime of Barack Obama. At some point, you have enough rights.
And now like the political cronyism in Chicago, everything everywhere will be negotiable and fungible. Your rights will be just a set of priviledges that the government will permit you to exercise from time to time, just to give you the illusion of "freedom".
The future is Anna Wintour sneering at your quaint notions of rights, forever. That;s fascism, modern Democrat style.

Well if you are footing the entirety of the bill for the premiums I guess you are just really really stupid for not choosing a policy that covers what you want. Oh that's right you want to be *lumped in* with a bunch of folks who have no need for BCPs so they have to pay for part of what yours cost. I find your argument that you not reproducing is a communal interest to be somewhat compelling; However I will have to stick with my principals on this one and say you have no right to compel someone to sponsor said contraception if they believe it to be immoral.

The vote not only exceeded the 75 percent required by state law, but some school networks voted 100 percent to authorize a strike, the union said.

"SlutWalk D.C. 2012 will be August 11th, 2012! The inaugural SlutWalk D.C. happened August 13th, 2011 with a march from the White House to the Washington Monument.

Also OT, allegations are that union cops in Palm Beach are retaliating by writing tons of tickets. The new contract changed bonuses from being based on seniority to being based on merit, and one cop wenty from writing 250 tickets a year to writing 150 in a month. He was fired and is appealing the firing. The reason he gave for the drastic increase in tickets was so he could get his $6000 bonus.

Which was disastrously capped (in both the sense of completed and killed) by the JEF's "doin' fine" press conference. The slow roll out started with their shit about how Congress needs to pass the Equal Pay Act, then I started seeing crap about how Congress needs to pass a jobs bill and their big splash was to be his presser.
When you see that slow-motion freight train wreck, you just know there is a yellow haze of urine that hovers in the WH these days.

what has bothered me about this discussion as a mother of girls and boys.
Is the govt demanding and coercing things from parties not responsible for their fun. which they personally should be responsible for.
since when is it a good thing to tell youth, you Don't Have to be prepared for adulthood if you are going to engage in adult behavior. since when is someone of Flukes age not responsible enough to assist in her own gynecology expenses, what about any personal hygeine products , is everything someone elses responsibilty?
should we also set them up with a safe glass of wine to get in the mood, or perhaps a counselor if they are experiencing issues?

But now, the message is muddled and inconsistent: Bush was a gathering vessel, the face for all evil. They lack that unifying villain now. So they stutter and stumble about, casting here and abroad for something to rally around.
Which is also why he is crashing and burning: They are an echo chamber, chock full of self-selected sycophants each telling each other how great they are and repeating the same ideas over and over.
When the thing that motivated you to get on the web and start a blog or start commenting is hatred of Bush; when that is the thing that gave you the biggest thrill and satisfaction? Well, they've trapped their brains into a destructive loop where the only thing that gets the blood flowing is those one-hit wonders from yesteryear. They really have become the grey-haired hippies in the basement, smoking pot--still--, and playing the old 45's, and telling each other how the man ruined everything to any who will listen. All this in a mere 4 years. The world moved on, they haven't.

Another fundamental fraud perpetrated by Fluke is what she didn't say - that is, that law students are eligible for tens of thousands of loans during law school to cover living expenses. When I was in lawschool, I received about $9,000.00 per semester for rent, food, gas, ammo, clothes and whiskey in no particular order. I lived in an apartment in one of the most wealthy zip codes in the U.S. and I didn't want for much of anything.
Fluke and her cohorts therefore must be arguing that they can't even be asked to borrow money to pay for contraceptives.
