This is OT but I am hearing this on tv about Cheney and his heart transplant. The left media is questioning whether he should have gotten a transplant or not. Why was there not a peep out of anyone when Steve Jobs jumped the line to get a liver transplant? I have a friend who is a doctor and he said no way Steve Jobs did not jump line for his liver. Makes me sick
I'm old and my memory ain't always what it used to be but didn't Mickey Mantle get a liver transplant and die pretty shortly thereafter? any complaints then? I could be wrong but I guess I should't comment because I'm not an organ donor myself .

I think we have to come to terms with the fact that at some point we are going to have to at the very least be able to defend ourselves and our homes. Everyone IMO should have a firearm and know how to use it. If there is true civil unrest, police will be too over-burdened to protect individuals and their homes.

The vote came just hours after the White House cast the pending vote as a political "gimmick," an apparent attempt to downplay what many expected to be an ugly-looking vote for the White House.
White House officials said Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), the sponsor of the alternative, was using Obama's top-line spending and revenue numbers as a budget proposal, without any specifics. On the House floor, Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) agreed that Mulvaney's amendment was not, in fact, Obama's entire budget proposal.
"This is politics at its absolute worst: presenting something as the President's budget without the policy detail, without the explanation to the American people about what's in the President's budget," he said. "And as a result, he presents a very misleading version of what the President has asked us to do."
Mulvaney seemed to relish the idea of bringing up a proposal based on Obama's numbers, and openly wondered, tongue-in-cheek, why no Democrats sought to introduce it. He then criticized it by saying it does not foresee a balanced budget at any point in the future.
"The budget that the President offered and that is contained in this amendment never balances," he said. "It is a balanced approach to reach a never-balancing budget."

Most see him carrying the Administration's argument. I see him trying to give them some way to justify this monster crap sandwich nobody ordered.
Don't get me wrong, I think he WANTS to approve the law, but the man has some dignity left and has begun to think of his legacy. He doesn't want to be remembered as just another sure liberal vote on the Court. Breyer wants them to give him something to hang his legal hat upon, he's begging them to give it to him, but they just can't.

So the Federal Government takes 100% of a peron's income. THey then go to a state and say "Hey, state, we will give X amount of dollars if you just do this and this and this." The State does it. Later, the Federal Government comes back and says "Hey, state, we will give eve more dollars if you jsut do these extra things. But if you don't, not only will we not give you the new dollars, we will take the old ones."
The state thinks on this, and says to itself "you know, I'd rather not take that extra money, and if the Federal government wants to take all of the money away because of that, so be it, I'll stand on my own." BUT WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE!! THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS ALREADY TAKEN ALL OF THE MONEY FOM THE CITIZENRY SO THE STATE CANT DO IT ON ITS FUCKING ON NOW CAN THEY??!?!!?
