Saving Justice Breyer

Well, that conservative justice Antonin Scalia made a joke about the "Cornhusker Kickback" and that isn't even in the law anymore!

My latest letter from Michelle:

Friend --

Every night in the White House, I see Barack up late poring over briefings, reading your letters, and writing notes to people he's met.

He's doing that for you -- working hard every day to make sure we can finish what we all started together.

This week, I need you to have his back.

Will you donate $3 or more to support Barack before Saturday's critical fundraising deadline?

Thank you.

Michelle

Fuck you Obama.  Fuck you and your minions.  For the man who ran on hope and change.. you gave me change alright.. but you took away the one thing that all humans need even in the most desperate of times.  You took my hope.  My hope is gone.  My dream of growing old with my husband in a little place in Arizona is gone forever.  Now.. I can only look forward to what my life was like in my 20's.  Scrimping.. saving.. doing my best to put a decent dinner on the table.. worrying sometimes so hard I could not sleep and rose the next morning to go to work.. weary and my heart heavy.  Now.. now.. I can look forward to denial of health care because I will too old and will be of no use to society.  So.. I will lay in bed someday dying of a disease and my husband will sit by my bedside as I lay dying and crying because he cannot help me.  Thank you Obama for giving my children a fate worse than mine.  They will work and toil until the sun sets and and it will still not be enough to feed your beast.  Fuck you Obama for giving my grandchildren an even worse fate.  When they reach my age if they are lucky.. maybe some fucking creep will just smash their heads in and end their miserable lives.   I hate you with the heat of a thousand suns.  Not only you  Obama but every politician who never had the balls to stand up and do what was right for America.  Fuck all of you.

I think we have to come to terms with the fact that at some point we are going to have to at the very least be able to defend ourselves and our homes.  Everyone  IMO should have a firearm and know how to use it.  If there is true civil unrest, police will be too over-burdened to protect individuals and their homes.

213 Here's more of the Hill article....seems Mulvaney (R-SC) was trying to make a point with this bill....

The vote came just hours after the White House cast the pending vote as a political "gimmick," an apparent attempt to downplay what many expected to be an ugly-looking vote for the White House.

White House officials said Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), the sponsor of the alternative, was using Obama's top-line spending and revenue numbers as a budget proposal, without any specifics. On the House floor, Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) agreed that Mulvaney's amendment was not, in fact, Obama's entire budget proposal.

"This is politics at its absolute worst: presenting something as the President's budget without the policy detail, without the explanation to the American people about what's in the President's budget," he said. "And as a result, he presents a very misleading version of what the President has asked us to do."

Mulvaney seemed to relish the idea of bringing up a proposal based on Obama's numbers, and openly wondered, tongue-in-cheek, why no Democrats sought to introduce it. He then criticized it by saying it does not foresee a balanced budget at any point in the future.

"The budget that the President offered and that is contained in this amendment never balances," he said. "It is a balanced approach to reach a never-balancing budget."

218 How come FNC got rid of her, anyway? Did she start wearing underwear?

***

Wasn't alcoholism a recurring issue with her?Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. Another thing, isn't she more than 6' tall?

My latest letter from Michelle:

Every night in the White House, I see Barack up late poring over briefings, reading your letters, and writing notes to people he's met.

He's doing that for you -- working hard every day to make sure we can finish what we all started together.

Should read: Every night in the White House, I see Barack up late poring over his orders from Mr. Soros.

He's doing that for you -- working hard every day to make sure we can finish what we all started together in 1789.

Shorter Spike Lee? What would that be, about four feet tall?

This has been a very good day for a change.

228 I think Mr. Justice Breyer may just surprise the heck out of us all when the decision is announced.

Most see him carrying the Administration's argument.  I see him trying to give them some way to justify this monster crap sandwich nobody ordered.

Don't get me wrong, I think he WANTS to approve the law, but the man has some dignity left and has begun to think of his legacy.  He doesn't want to be remembered as just another sure liberal vote on the Court.  Breyer wants them to give him something to hang his legal hat upon, he's begging them to give it to him, but they just can't.

Posted by: Adjoran at March 28, 2012 06:52 PM (VfmLu)

229 #239, nah, being a liberal means never having to have any real dignity. If Breyer had wanted to secure something other than a Moonbat legacy he would have switched sides in Kelo, or in the Bollinger race preference case, or in Hamdan, or in Heller, or in the Carhart late-term abortion case, etc. Concerning Obamacare Breyer will vote with Comrades Ginsburg, Kagan and the Wise Latina. That aside, it's probably a moot point. It appears as though the Scalia-Thomas-Roberts-Alito bloc along with Kennedy (knock on wood) will toss out this entire abomination of a statute.

And furthermore, to pile on Ace's point, these Justices are idiots.

So the Federal Government takes 100% of a peron's income. THey then go to a state and say "Hey, state, we will give X amount of dollars if you just do this and this and this." The State does it. Later, the Federal Government comes back and says "Hey, state, we will give eve more dollars if you jsut do these extra things. But if you don't, not only will we not give you the new dollars, we will take the old ones."

The state thinks on this, and says to itself "you know, I'd rather not take that extra money, and if the Federal government wants to take all of the money away because of that, so be it, I'll stand on my own." BUT WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE!! THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS ALREADY TAKEN ALL OF THE MONEY FOM THE CITIZENRY SO THE STATE CANT DO IT ON ITS FUCKING ON NOW CAN THEY??!?!!?

Right over Kagan's head. Right over Sotomayor's head. Right over Breyer's head. These brilliant minds seemingly miss things so easily seen by everyone else.
