I was trying to figure out why, and I think I hit on it: The first two videos show people aspiring to better lives (at least materially), while the others show people wallowing in their status as a permanent underclass.

The decades of multiculturalism have worked. People of particular racial backgrounds have now internalized the notion that they aren't "authentic" unless they're low-class guttersnipes who will never improve.

Asians were lucky, in that academia, politicians, and the vast government bureaucracy never targeted them with the message that they had to stay rice farmers, coolies, and rickshaw boys forever or else they'd be traitors to their race.

No one has been silly enough to say I'm not like other black people (probably because I'm African and not AA), but I get the "can I touch your hair" from time to time.
