Sources: Huntsman To Speak at Democratic National Convention
Update: Not True?

— Ace

As of yet Mike Flynn only has this from "sources," so it's not actually confirmed.

At first, the idea seemed like something out of fiction. No, weirder than that, because even Aaron Sorkin couldn't come up with such a convoluted plot device. But, the information came to me from a very high-ranking Republican official who assured me the information came from "very credible sources."

This dovetails with a Politco report that the DNC will feature prominent Republicans.

I don't want to link Politico, but I have to suggest giving that article a read. The Democrats are planning a very negative and hard-hitting convention. I hope the Republicans have a counter to that. And although I'm not the Guy Who's Necessarily Against Gauzy Uplift, I don't know if Gauzy Uplift is going to be enough when you have three days of the Democrats portraying you as Hannibal Lecter.

Update: Bad Tip? I'm told Huntsman's daughters are denying the claim that their dad will speak at the convention, and Drudge has also removed a link to this story, seemingly indicating his skepticism about it.

Maybe he'll give the speech in Chinese ... or in Bahasa, to really get in good with the Indonesian Imbecile.  That would be cool and very American ... for a lefty who wants to see America, Fundamentally Deformed.

While the DNC has embraced communism and gay marriage. Anyway, they think we are crazy because they don't realize they are crazy. And so, Hunstman fits in this mold. He thinks we ourselves deny science and bridges=jobs economic reality. What a shit.

84 This weekend, judges, lawyers and staff of the country's 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will convene in Maui, Hawaii, for a government-funded conference that they refused to cancel despite pressure from Republican lawmakers who balked at the junket's $1 million price tag. Two Supreme Court Justices, Samuel Alito and Anthony Kennedy, will attend the three-day event and are scheduled to speak briefly on the conference's final day. Their mere presence will add tens of thousands of dollars to the conference's security costs, law enforcement sources told The Washington Examiner. Ninth Circuit Chief Judge Alex Kozinski recently told Congress it was too late to cancel the event, which was booked two years in advance. Senate aides dispute that claim. After combing through the contract, the aides determined that the court could cancel the event by paying a penalty fee that would save most of the taxpayers' money. Fuck the Ninth Circuit

88 The Republicans have historically been happy to roll out the welcome mat for the Dems' disaffected to go speak at the other party's convention. It's not just Miller; but Lieberman, Jeane Kirkpatrick... list goes on.

So it doesn't surprise me to see that the Dems are going to try this for themselves. My guess isn't Huntsman, though.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Susan Collins from Maine. Collins is leaving the Senate and hasn't anything to lose. And she's a leftist at heart. AND she's in a state with a three-way race.

Posted by: Bcochran1981 at August 10, 2012 01:59 PM (GEICT)

110 At first, the idea seemed like something out of fiction. No, weirder than that, because even Aaron Sorkin couldn't come up with such a convoluted plot device. But, the information came to me from a very high-ranking Republican official who assured me the information came from "very credible sources."

114 I think three days of portraying Romney as Darth Vader's more evil stepbrother will leave Americans thinking they are insane. Romney's life has been one of incredible charity, helping others, and doing good deeds like saving a neighbor's daughter from a fire. Trying to make him look evil is just not going to wash.

Not yet, no but you can be sure that's in the wings waiting for the RNC. They always do "story of his life" stuff, and Romney has a hell of a story. I don't care for the man's squishy politics and willingness to say anything people want to hear to get elected, but he's been a genuinely great human being.

129 This weekend, judges, lawyers and staff of the country's 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will convene in Maui, Hawaii, for a government-funded conference that they refused to cancel despite pressure from Republican lawmakers who balked at the junket's $1 million price tag.

Wait, wait, wait, wait.

We're paying for conferences for Federal Judges?  No, no, no, no.

They get a salary (too much, in this anti-lawyer's opinion) and they can pay for themselves to go just like anybody else in the private (or, for that matter academic) sector has to do.

We really need the judiciary to be more isolated and incestuous in its thinking?  No thanks.

194 PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Retiring U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe says her re-election campaign committee has transferred $1.2 million of its remaining funds to an effort to encourage young women to participate in public service. Snowe, who announced earlier this year she will not seek re-election, says the money will go to the Maine Community Foundation to support The Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute. Snowe will establish that institute after she completes her term in the Senate. The remaining balance of approximately $800,000 is being used for outstanding campaign obligations and to establish a multi-candidate committee whose goals are to diminish the polarization in today's political environment. Snowe, a Republican, decided to leave the Senate after serving three terms, citing frustrations over partisan polarization. ****** It's Olympia. I doubt that Warner would do it, he was a real hawk on defense and sees where Bambi is taking it. Ahnuld knows speaking at the Dem convention would kill his movie career comeback. Arlen is a Dem now. Buddy has been running for President on any line he can get on, and is a Dem turned GOP, so him turning back is no big thing. Well it has nothing to do with John McCain, and I am not a Concerned Christian Conservative who voted for Nixon back in 72. The name is quite nonpolitical. Fans of the 2006 Stanley Cup Champions, the Carolina Hurrricanes, are called "Caniacs". To differentiate myself from the females of the species, I called myself "MrCaniac". That is it.
