I've always wanted to live-blog a movie.

Not sure when -- maybe Wednesday; gotta check with the cobloggers -- but we have to do a live-blog of Derrick Bell's Space Traders.

Gotta.

Unfortunately it's only 35 minutes long. Maybe we'll have ten minute intermissions to discuss what we've learned so far.

Here's part one.

I just asked John Sexton if Breitbart saw this before he died. He said he had, as they'd had this for some time.

So, at least he got to see this.

John was just wondering if this story would ever break through, and if so, how.

I didn't know about this movie. Now that I know about it, I think it could.

This goofball race-paranoia movie is crazy. And ergo, grabs eyeballs.

You don't have to be terribly interested in politics to be interested in this clown show.

This is what Obama's intellectual mentor dreams up when he's supposed to be doing academic work.

We already know what his spiritual mentor (Wright) and his political mentor (Alinsky) had to offer.

Now comes this stuff.

Beck has a lot of things you can fault. A lot of things. A veritable truckload of stuff. Hell you would need a forklift to move it all. But being horribly inaccurate or just plain random about predictions is not one of those problems.

All this talk of Africans and boobehs has brought back an odd memory. I was raised Catholic, remember the Legion of Decency? They rated films, and I was only allowed to go to movies rated A-1 (Good) or A-2 (Ok, but a little risque) when I was around 12. This would have been the early 60's. The ratings continued with A-3 (Ok for adults), B (bad), and C (condemned). The movie "8" was a C as I remember.

There was a movie with the title Zulu. It was A-2 even though it showed full boobie shots. But all the boobies were black, and apparently that wasn't a problem. We flocked to it of course.

327 The book is apparently much more antisemitic than the movie. In the book, Jews are shown to be only self-interested. they need to keep blacks around so whites don't turn on them next. That idea is floated in the movie, but it's not shown as coming from the Jews themselves, it's shown as coming from a character who might be a doofus. Nothing the Jews do supports that idea. In the book, the Jews actually believe Derek Bell's critical race theory bullshit. That's a premise too far for the movie.
