Looking forward to it.
Poor Raylan has the worst luck with women.
Maybe this season that'll change.

My kid has been telling me to watch this show. I never have. It's probably really good huh? I should listen to him, he got me hooked on The Walking Dead, so his taste can't suck that much. I wonder if the earlier seasons are on Netflix or something.

11 Each season is only as good as the new villain. They've had some good ones.
They have to be really bad, bad-waddies...so that Raylan is justified in shooting them.
The episodes where he doesn't get to shoot somebody are kind of disappointing.

21...Looking at the trailer I'm thinking that it might be a bit less subtle now?
The relationship between Raylan and Boyd develops further, with some twists and turns...and with each helping the other in different ways.
Ava becomes a fixture.
Winona comes back into the picture a little more.
Nick Searcy...Art Mullen...gets more lines and has more face time.
Which is great.
I've liked every season so far.

As an ex sort of big city cop (380,000 people) I have a rather big disdain for State troopers. I call them glorified traffic investigators. Once when I was a cop, I was pulled over for speeding by a state trooper who decided to lecture me on the evils of driving 10 miles an hour over the speed limit after he knew I was a cop. I proceeded to tell him to not ever lecture me about traffic issues. I also told him that I will see more shit in a day than he will ever see in his whole fucking career and to either write me a ticket or let me the fuck go. He let me go but complained to my supervisor who then told him to fuck off.

NDH-
Getting old is a real kick in the head. I don't feel old in my head, but my body is sometimes betraying me.
It hurts to get old and realize that there is not really much to look forward to, and you start looking back too much, and that sucks too.
I see my sons as young and hopeful about the future (I am not at all optimistic about their future, but then I am not young), and I sometimes wish I could just catch a whiff of that sort of optimism again. That's really what makes you feel "young". The optimism that next week, next year, is just gonna be better.
Only now we know it isn't going to be better.

Walton Goggins should win an Emmy for his all-too-brief apperance on SOA. I couldn't figure out who it was, at first. When I did I cracked up. Rumor is he lost a bet with producer Kurt Sutter and will be back next season as one of the heavy (chested) villians next season.

Also, 200,000 apps? 180,000 must be games. Most of the crap I have looked for that is on my Nexus tablet doesn't exist on Itunes.
I am embarrassed to have gone to the dark side, please forgive me. ,

Here is an article from American Spectator that points out that the BCRA (a.k.a. McCain/Feingold) was upheld by the Supreme Court, and yet a mere six years later was a dead letter. It was taken apart piecemeal by assorted court cases focusing on specifics, until there was nothing left. The article points out that the opponents of Obamacare are "numerous and determined" and will be tenacious enough to pull the same trick off again.
It ends on a scary note, though, that if Obama gets to appoint another couple of Supreme Court justices, that would pretty much doom us to Obamacare.

Don't be foolish. The insurance companies and state bureaucracies are already gearing up for this shitpile. At humongous expense, I probably need not add. My personal health insurance policy is going from $535 to $667 per month on February 1st. Only 6 months after the last up-the-ass increase on August 1st. We are so fuckin' doomed. There is no hope. There is no turning back. It's done.

Yup. Anymore, it's the little things that count, like little potential humans. Having that first great-grandson, at three weeks, grab my finger while I'm feeding him a bottle (a picture of which will soon be my wallpaper) is one of them.
He's not blood kin, but I'm past the point of caring anymore: he's B'Gal's blood, and that's close enough for me. Family is who you claim, fuck 'em if they don't like it. It's too late.

My doc offered it to me, I was all, fuck no, I am not taking any pill of any kind every fuckin' day, no way, no how. He gave me a huge pile of samples. Turns out you can just use it "as needed." A local woman near me was featured in the paper today as one of the volunteers who decorates. Buried in the story was that they only had HALF of the volunteers they usually have. The excuse is that the White House didn't want it crowded and people bumping into each other.
If yuo ask me, either half the volunteers didn't have the money to fly to Washington, or half of the people no longer wanted to be associated with the White House and the Obamas.

Damn, that is disheartening. I have 20 years on you, but have only recently begun to disintegrate. Another really helpful thing (get it at Costco) is glucosamine supplements. Two schools of thought, one says the glucosamine-chondroitin is better, the other says the glucosamine-msm is better. I get both and take one of each every day. Get this. It was in claymation! Son and I think that the producers thought claymation would make it an instant classic like Rudolph.
It was absolutely terrible, with terrible music. "Merry Christmas, don't be a jerk." Creepy Santa Claus with pop eyes and bald head with age spots and pointed ears.
It was truly the worst Christmas show I have ever seen. My 16-year old grandson said he thinks the country has gone nuts.

Well, I hope you beat it. It's better to burn out than rust out, I guess. All my shit is the results of doing too much too often. The constant pain is not much fun, but not much you can do about it.
I forgot to mention, I am pretty well off, so I keep myself moving to not think about it all. The knee cap is the one that really pisses me off, because, again, nothing can be done about it. I work out a lot to try and build up muscle to protect it, but it is still a bitch. No more marathons for me.

ace said something along the lines of "We'd told ourselves we only had to hold on until January 2013, and things would get better. Now we've lost that, and saying 'Hold on until January 2017 is just too depressing.'" That's how I've felt since the election. I feel like we're Britain after WWII--tired of everything and willing to settle for less as long as we can get some free stuff.
And that's when I'm feeling optimistic. When I'm feeling pessimistic, I think about the tyrant's increasing tyranny. Forcing the Catholic Church to provide birth control and abortafacients for its employees. Cameras everywhere. Drones everywhere. Kill lists. Seeking unlimited power over the debt and the filibuster. Black boxes in cars. An archive of all text messages and e-mails. A weak and corrupt opposition that cares only for power. A government encroaching into every aspect of our lives. And there's no place to go--no country where freedom isn't on the retreat. Part of me thinks it will be sort of interesting to live through such downfall, if we do live through it.
Screw it--gonna get drunk and watch the extended versions of Lord of the Rings.

I have them in three 4-DVD sets (2 DVDs for each extended version, 2 for lots of extras). I don't have an HD TV, so I guess Blue Ray would be lost on me. I'm a huge nerd and do like the extended versions--the theatrical version seems absurdly truncated after you've seen them (if you like the subject matter). It's a sad story, in many ways, but it does seem to psyche one up to fight evil against insurmountable odds.
