Speculation About Today's Job Figures: 8.2% Unemployment, 113,000 Jobs
— Ace

Expectations:

Economists expect employers added 113,000 jobs in September, while the unemployment rate edged up to 8.2 percent from August's 8.1 percent, according to a Reuters survey. FridayÂ’s report will be the second-to-last before the November election.

That, of course, is very weak. But in setting up such a low expectation, it gives the media room to play up 140,000 as an "unexpected rebound."

12 8.2  means Obama's campaign just officially flatlined.  Now is when the really wild sh*t will be spewing forth.   Like Romney funding secret Mormon prisons for gay dogs and Mitt and Ann chose to have only sons because they hate women and Obama has a plan to attack Iran by designing their embassy security protocols.

13 But seriously, it has been said that the media has to, at some point before the election, start reporting the facts.  They can only cheerlead for so long, eventually their own jobs are at stake.

Granted, this is a unique point in our history, never before have we had a mocha Jesus as President, and never before has such a glowing example of inept leftish "leadership" needed such help from the fawning media, but still, enough is enough.

The economy won't get better as long as those people are in charge.  Surely our media knows that... and don't call them "Shirley."

It is the worst kind of foolishness to expect the media to do the "rats deserting a sinking ship" bit.

More likely, the rats will do all they can to patch the holes in the hull of the Choom Boy regime. They are so fully invested in the Anointed One's reelection that they simply cannot let go now.

Oh sure, there are a few truthful stories filtering out. But most are relatively trivial, and fresh marching orders will be sent out from the fuhrerbunker White House.

When (the worrier in me says if) Osama Obama loses, the media will have to face a lot of ugly truths. But, as they do with the economy ("113,000 jobs!!11!! Another Obama miracle!!eleventy!!'), they will keep claiming that the empty glass is at least half full. It's their nature.

30 Romney said his 47% was wrong in an interview with Hannity on Wednesday and that of course he cares about 1oo% of the voters, even the ones that don't vote for him and that he was prepared for the question to come up at the debate.

66 Well now that we are past the silly time of "seasonal adjustments" which allow the government to play games with the actual numbers, unemployment tends to be more reliable. Typically without season adjustments the real jobs number comes in about 60% of the ADP number. That puts us well below 100k. Nevertheless we could easily go under 8% unemployment with even more people giving up. We'll see. The temptation for the government to fair this number is extreme.

69 CNN is devoting an entire 15-minute segment this morning to "Save Big Bird!!!"

Big Bird is six years old.  He lives in an alley.

In forty-odd years, no one in his of finely-blended multicultural "gritty" high-density progg-wet-dream urban neighborhood, gloriously full of people who can't afford cars--black, Hispanic, Asian, disabled, token blue-eyed guy Oscar keeps telling to scram--cared about him enough to call Child Services, let alone adopt him into their own home.

I'm kind of tired of hearing about how Romney is the cold-hearted meanie who doesn't give a shit about poor children and their fucking Big Bird.

Meanwhile, some classic comedy:

73 22 -

Sure, it's foolish to try to predict anything these lying liars will do at this point.  As I said, the mocha Jesus is unique to them, but traditionally they've had to weigh between their cheerleading and their perceived credibility, and chosen their credibility.

For example, in the early phase of the Clinton sex scandals, they carried the message for him, until it got to the point that it was obvious there was some truth behind it, that he was sticking cigars in young girls while in his office in the White House.  Everybody deserted him then, and they were only able to tentatively get back on his side when it appeared the mean Republicans were pushing this "just sex" scandal too far.

It would be suicide for them to keep pretending Obama  deserved to be reelected, but they just might be feeling suicidal.  We'll see.

74 @29 I expect you're right about the creatures who will come to L'il Barry's aid, but can we substitute another species for rats? Rats are at least as smart as cats, and cats know what is truly important in life: comfort. (You see, I'm building a syllogism here.) Not to slander naked mole rats (Heterocephalus glaber, rodents, true, but not true rats), but they are social, and the automata in the media are nothing but social, outside of the fight for promotion. Given the chance, they'll have all of us living like naked mole rats, underground in the dark, huddled together for warmth, and abdicating individual reproduction to the hierarchy of the group.

When you can't get anti-Mormon traction going in evangelical churches, unless you catch Romney on film playing cards with the Devil, the Mormon cult theme will not work for the dems.

82 What will the timing be on the riots, election night, inauguration eve, or when Romney slashes SSDI? Posted by: Jean at October 05, 2012 08:00 AM

If Choom Boy takes the kind of fall he has earned, the riots will start on election night.

That will give him plenty of time to enact "emergency" measures that a) speed up our descent into bankruptcy; b) ensure that his peeps have enough of those sweet, sweet gubmint giveaways to last them through a Romney presidency; c) extend the life of the Osama Obama regime in a time of national emergency.

86 Really, NDH?

I'm sorry to hear that, girlfriend.

****

Thanks, Jeff.

It's a long saga that I've already vented about here but, in the end, I'm going to be fine. Long story short: I damn near worked myself into the grave and my employer's response was to threaten my job the day after I returned from my third hospital stay in five weeks.

H.R. (covering their asses) told me take take short-term disability, which I did. Yesterday I received  call from the insurance company telling me I've been approved for LTD for another 18 months. That's (God willing) more than enough time to get back on my feet and perhaps even find another calling.

So, although it might have been delivered in an awful, no good, terrible way, it may all be a blessing in the end.

Thanks, again.
