When one party in a country's political system is willing to completely ignore the laws of the country, it's time to split that country off into at least two separate countries.

The way the Left treats the law of the land is similar to someone who uses inside information to trade in the financial markets. Both are subversive of the need for fair competition in their respective marketplaces. Of course the Left knows they can't win a fair competition, hence the need to double down on subverting the law. For them, subverting the law will always be their go-to strategy.

Let the Left play each other for suckers in their own country, rather than playing the rest of us for suckers by disobeying the laws we nominally share with them.

Yeah, there are short-term remedies like voting them out of office, but they will still be there waiting for yet another chance to convince the low-information voters to give them an opportunity to exercise power and subvert the law some more. And you know they will eventually get those opportunities.

I know, it's too impractical a suggestion. Doesn't mean it's wrong, though, just not easy.

There was a political pundit who said something on VP picks that I agree with.  He said picking a VP was overrated as far as helping get someone elected.  He said picking the right one was important though as picking a wrong one can hurt you bad.

So there is that.  Romney needs a solid conservative from the South.  It would kill him to pick a moderate from the North and would not deliver anything.

You may have a point. I remember when I was a owner/operator long-haul trucker, I had to deliver a load of food supplies to Groton CT. I helped unload the load on to this small ship that kind of looked like a Coast Guard Cutter but was actual Navy that was going to sea. Anyway, there was a shitload of prime steaks and seafood. I'm sure they were fed real well.

  I must say this due to my immense pride in my family.  We have a long history of military service that encompasses each branch, dating back to before the civil war.  It is simply something that is done, without a lot of fanfare.

   All the males, plus a few females, serve unless there is a reason they cannot.  They range from lifers to one and done, but we all wear a uniform.

    And I will say this--I wore the uniform with PRIDE, yet when I see these young men and women serving today, it humbles me.  It would be an immeasurable honor to wear it again with any of them.

I would prefer that we leave conservative congressmen in congress. We don't have enough of them as it is. What they need is either a conservative governor from a solid red State or a conservative "former" governor.  If it is a solid red State there would be no problem getting another Republican elected in their place.

Nikki Haley would be a good pick except that the MFM would go crazy Palinizing her and it would stick, even with some "fair-weather" Republicans who should know better.  So what he needs is a male version of Nikki Haley.

I have a great elliptical machine (Octane Q35), and use that almost every day. About four months ago I upped the resistance significantly, and have dropped about 10 pounds since then. No more time, just more work. I also started looking at the throwaway calories that I had been eating, and cut some of them out. Not much...probably about 100 cal/day. But over  time that adds up.

I have also been eating a healthy dinner at least twice/week. For us that means fish and vegetables. As much as we want, and cooked carefully and well (I love food and won't eat crap).

I have found that vegetables cooked well are great! Grilled is my favorite, but I have a recipe for ratatouille that rocks. (If you want it I'll send it)

I love to eat and cook and will not sweat blowout meals. We are just being a bit more careful during the week, when meals tend to be more rushed anyway.
