Stacey Dash To Appear on Piers Morgan Tonight
— Ace

To talk about the race -- and race.

As she was race-baited within inches of her life for supporting Romney.

I won't watch it because it's Piers Morgan, but I'm sure there will be some clips on TheRightScoop.

Sneaking This Stink-Bomb In Here: CNN's new post-debate Ohio poll has Obama up 51-47% with likely voters. Romney leads men with +14, but Obama swamps him with women with +22.

Huge.

I am really starting to wonder if Ohio shouldn't be reduced in priority, and if Michigan and Pennsylvania aren't better prospects.

From their article:
"Since non-partisan, live operator polls of likely voters in Ohio conducted prior to the debate indicated Obama with a 7-10 point advantage over the former Massachusetts governor, the new CNN survey suggests that Romney got a bounce following the debate."

Sample was D+2, which is reasonable.

There's another poll coming out shortly (within the hour) from an Ohio TV station with a D+6 sample which I've seen. It has Obama up only 1 in the state, even with that unrealistic sample.

100 Why are people so willing to declare PA off limits or fool's gold.  IN voted for Obama.  IN had voted Republican a lot longer than PA has voted Democrat.  If you are planning to only get 285 EV's, then yeah PA is probably off limits.  But if you want to  go for the big win - then it is on the table.  And sometimes  you get the big win simply by going for it.  Play some offense.  PA is winnable.

101 good point Dave.  A professor from the University of Dayton made the same point.  He also noted that if the current trends continue, Romney will win Ohio pretty handily.

102 There are a lot of scenarios where flipping Iowa matters.

I'm still trying to figure out why Iowa (6 EV) is so important. Lots of states have a lot more EV than that. Seems the effort would be better spent there.

Yet both Romney and Obama continue to campaign in Iowa.

That's how important blacks are to the Dems.

109 Did I read that Althouse-Sowell post right? Obama voted AGAINST waiving the Stafford Act for NOLA? Apparently, yes I did. In URL. Posted by: Beagle at October 09, 2012 04:27 PM (sOtz/) Thanks for linking to Sowell (http://tinyurl.com/9rnb5td) instead of that stupid Althouse post. Unlike Rev. Wright’s church, the U.S. Senate keeps a record of who was there on a given day. The Congressional Record for May 24, 2007 shows Sen. Obama present that day and voting on the bill that waived the Stafford Act requirement. Moreover, he was one of just 14 Senators who voted against — repeat, against — the legislation that included the waiver. When he gave that demagogic speech, in a feigned accent and style, it was world class chutzpah and a rhetorical triumph. He truly deserves the title Phony in Chief.

110 Again.

Romney wins the electoral vote 352-186 winning all of the states Bush took in 2004 +WI,MI,PA,NJ.

Period. Dot. Bingo.

So Long And Thanks For All The Fish.

May Obama Live Forever!

111 Actual voting is always better than any polls.

2008 results

Ohio - Obama + 207,000 votes (4 percent)

Pennsylvania - Obama + 620,000 votes (10.2 percent)

Michigan - Obama + 824,000 votes (16.5 percent)

Ohio is clearly the easiest to swing. If Romney cannot swing Ohio, it is unlikely he swings either of the other two.

Wisconsin is a tad different because of the Ryan factor, as well as Scott Walker.

Ohio has gone with the winning candidate every time but twice starting in 1896. One of the two exceptions was Nixon - Kennedy, which Kennedy may have cheated to win, but in any case it was one of the closest elections in history.

A lot of people say this now, but I've said it for a long time: guarantee me Ohio and Virginia, and I will guarantee you the White House in 2012.

113 Yeah. One CNN Ohio poll. Abandon all hope. Posted by: Dang© at October 09, 2012 04:25 PM (R18D0) It's horseshit. I live in Central Ohio and while I don't travel far and wide across the state what traveling I have done has provided me with a decent view of the country and suburbs. R/R signs OVERWHELMINGLY outnumber Odouchebag signs and many times they are the 4' by 6' plastic signs, not the small cardboard ones. Romney has Ohio wrapped up.

120 tasker: I'm not counting on Wisconsin, and I agree that there are other paths to victory. I just think Ohio is the bellwether.

If Romney doesn't take Ohio, he could still take Colorado, sure. Or New Hampshire (I know nothing about New Hampshire). But he's not taking Pennsylvania or Michigan.

121

Yes.

Barky did vote *against* waiving the Stafford Act for Katrina Relief Funds.

It was tacked onto a funding bill...to fund the War in Iraq.

He was one of 14 others who voted against it.

But later...the wording was changed, and he voted *for* it.

Now, I'm not sure if he gave that speech in 2007 before he voted *for* the 'revised' version, or not.

But he did vote *against* it, the first time.

122 Ace is back to worrying about polls. Ohio is bad, eh? I dunno, enjoy the preference cascade. But I do think that Romney should contest almost every state too. What do i know, I am just wishcasting.

123 2 Michigan is gettable. PA is a perennial tease. Take PA to dinner, if she's not drunk by 7, activate the "I gotta take this call" bit. IF Bammy is a 43% like the Siena Poll says Bammy is TOAST !! BURNT TOAST!

124 Breitbart points to polls that show all swing states in play for Romney. Outside of urban voter fraud centers and disconnected SWPL lands, how popular is Obama? Plus, Obama lost a lot of illegal voters when they decamped for back home.

126 Another way to look at it is Obama did 3 points worse in Ohio than he did nationally in 2008. He did 3 points better in Pennsylvania and 9 points better in Michigan.

So if Romney wins 51 to 49 nationally, based on 2008 you would expect him to win Ohio, be competitive in Pennsylvania, and still lose in Michigan--even if one gives him five points in Michigan for his family ties.

I hope we have the kind of blowout that allows Romney to carry Michigan, but I can't see it as *the* swing state. It will have to be gravy.

I'm from Ohio too and I'm really getting tired of responding to these dipshit poll dancers.  The JEF has never been popular in Ohio.  Cankles trucked him in the 2008 primary and outside of the urban blue hells the Indonesian was very unpopular in the general election.

135 I'm in Ohio.  No way Obama wins here.  Portman's machine will see to that.  Mandel will win, too.

Obama has been campaigning in northern Ohio on college campuses and struggling to draw crowds.  Romney has also been campaigning in northern Ohio.

Romney wins Ohio by at least 3.5%.  Probably closer to 5.

I am so pissed off at women for their goddam brain dead stupid leftism I don't know where to turn, or what to say. I have more sympathy with a violent gangbanger or some border jumping La Raza thug than any woman who would vote for Obama.

137 This CNN poll though trending Romney is STILL bogus. IT says 19% of conservatives wil vote Obama. Anybody believe that? There are more"independents" sampled than Repubs. And Obama is winning them too. Despite a different Ohio poll showing Romney up 20% with indies. Please give me a break with this "bad news" bullshit!
