Stephanie Cutter's Gaffe Reveals Her True Beliefs
— Ace

A Kinsleyan Gaffe is a statement in which a politician reveals her real, but repulsive, beliefs.

Stephanie Cutter just committed a horrific one.

She views the abject failure of Obama to provide adequate security in Benghazi -- due to his naive view that a disarmed consulate would deter armed aggression -- as a purely "political" issue.

A "political" issue to be spun, reframed, recontextualized.

A "political" issue that just happens to have a bodycount.

This explains why the Obama Campaign lied about the attack for two weeks: Because, as Stephanie Cutter just told you, they view this as a "political" issue to be spun and won.

This explains why the Obama Campaign lies to the face of the mother of Sean Smith. Because, as Stephanie Cutter just told you, Sean Smith's death is just a "political" issue to be won in a newscycle.

This explains why Obama jetted off to a Vegas fundraiser on the day of Chris Stevens', Sean Smiths', and two SEALs' murder. Because, as Stephanie Cutter just told you, this is just a "political issue" and for Obama to cancel political plans would suggest it might be more than that.

This explains why Hillary Clinton lied about the cause of Chris Stevens' death, just yards away from his coffin. Because, as Stephanie Cutter just told you, this is just a "political issue," a distraction from the only thing that matters, the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama.

This explains why the Obama Administration claims its investigation into why they themselves refused completely reasonable security upgrades cannot be completed... until after the election. Because, as Stephanie Cutter just told you, the catastrophic decision to pursue a Let a Smile Be Your Bodyguard folly is just a "political" issue to be reframed for media soundbites.

This explains a full month of lies, evasions, and complete refusal to admit any sort of responsibility. Because, as Stephanie Cutter just told you, the bodies of four Americans are just a "political" issue, just "bumps in the road," to be buried and forgotten.

Not a Gaffe: A Planned Administration Strategy. As @verumserum notes, Jay Carney trotted this "politicization" claim yesterday.

48 I think this is all true. They do see it as a political issue. But I also I think they're reaching out to their media allies for help. They saw how the initial few days were dominated by criticism of Romney and it gave them a false sense that they wouldn't have to deal with this f*ck up and transfer the scandal to the GOP. They are simply trying to recapture the thing that initially saved them, not realizing that was artificial itself and never going to last. They have no where to turn and can only go back to what they think is "what works."

There's no way that she gets fired over this. The people running the show care about tonight's debate, followed by the next two debates and by campaigning. All else is simply noise to be ignored until after the election. NOTHING. ELSE. MATTERS.

114 Note that Cutter has a habit of smiling when she talks about Stevens' murder.

The first murderer in the world to be convicted by DNA evidence is a British man named Colin Pitchfork (yes, that's right). When the police interviewed him, they were struck that his expressions of emotion were completely abnormal.

He smiled when he said he was sad, and he frowned when he said he was happy. After a psychiatric evaluation, it was determined that he was a rare, pure sociopath who utterly lacked empathy and therefore had no idea when to smile or frown. He felt nothing for anyone but himself, so he couldn't even approximate human emotions.

Cutter is a sociopath. She smiles at the most horrifically inappropriate times, when she's talking about murdered Americans, because she--like her boss--feels nothing for other human beings.

Yes, if your child proved mentally or physically defective, you could legally dispose of it because the Roman citizenry was to be the finest in the world.  You were not required to do this, but, the social pressure was fierce.  It is another reason that adoption was an integral part of Roman society--if you had no worthy progeny, you adopted them, even if they were slaves.  The exaltation of Rome was the first and last goal of Rome and its citizens.

I expect 20-30 million people to learn about this fuckup via the debate tonight. 20-30 million because us Reich-wingnuts already know about it. So I'm hoping that Ryan's most frequently used phrases tonight, are...

"No, Mr. Vice President. That is not true."

"No, Sir. Not even close."

Nordstrom & Wood both "Immediately recognized" this wasn't a protest.

So: If everyone in power recognized immediately that is wasn't over a video I need the fucking name of the idiot that said it was a protest. Now..

254 She's not saying it's not an issue, and she didn't say it's only a political issue to be spun. She's saying it shouldn't be a political issue at all, simply a matter to presumably be addressed inside the government. I think this is utter bullshit, of course. Blatantly lying to the American public about the inadequate security precautions taken before a high-profile terror attack absolutely makes it a legitimate political issue. The fitness of the administration to conduct the nation's foreign policy, and its honesty, are clearly implicated. The people have a right to know, and a right to hear a vigorous debate about what happened. I think it was Powers who said that anything less than a full airing would endanger American lives in the future. It's also wildly disingenuous coming from the most political of political teams. Of course political hay is going to be made about a major security failure, this would be the first time in history that HASN'T happened. 269 AC and the ambassador both played for the other team. Why isn't the Gay Left more outraged about the lack of security for a gay Ambassador in a volatile fundamental Muslim country? This was an entirely foreseeable event. Obama sent a gay man off to die. (I'm assuming it's been confirmed he's [Ambassador] is gay) If Buuuuuush had done it, it would be considered proof positive that the Right wants to kill the queers. Caveat: It's possible the Gay Left is raising this issue, I will admit to pretty much avoiding that whole side of things since it is wearying to have to explain that, yes, I do exist. Politics really is a game to much of the Left. It's just a game to win and the whole real people get really killed part of it seems to whizz right over their heads.

Obama is just amoral enough to kill dozens of American troops and perhaps hundreds of Libyan citizens with an 'October surprise if internal polling shows him losing by more than the margin of fraud.

By announcing the date of surrender in A'ghan, he emboldened al Qaeda and the Taliban there, and now more Americans have died in A'ghan under Obama then during Bush's entire term.  And Obama doesn't care.  Sends condolence letters printed off a Word template and signed by autopen.

Of course, being al Qaeda, could just be the old Clinton style missiles at aspirin factory type attacks.

This allowing them to create the dialogue against the 1st amendment.

No doubt Al Qaeda was behind the protests. Encouraging people to demonstrate against the video to provide cover/distraction from their attack. (Something they learned from the SEIU "demonstrations" and Occupy's "Black Bloc")

But the Administration weakened the security perhaps to not dissuade this protest. So they could be on the TV pointing at the protest, vandalization, flag burning, and saying "see! 1st amendment makes us hated!"

When it all went to hell beyond what they planned because they were played by Al Qaeda they still stick with the play, blame a video, because they weren't going to lose a chance.

The problem is there wasn't a protest over the video. This was a planned attack, both here and in Egypt. It wasn't until after the attacks that there were protests or demonstrations. Those protests and demonstrations were probably set up by AQ also in hopes that there would be an attack by US security forces.

there is no religion in a communist state--no souls, no compassion and alot of LIES

obama care-rationing/death panels
cutter/gibbs/axelrot--pure rotting lies out of their mouths--and afterwards--no prob going back to their luxury digs---all paid for by our tax dollars---

communist socialist rules are the sole reason for all the wars/despair and atrocities in the world--see african rulers, etc...but the liberal colleges have won--and created this evil argument that it is the opposite--how sooo- alinsky--sooo wrong---

it's in the colleges where the evil spores of Marxism are grown and spread---it's like the country is putting it's own head into the guillotine...kids who can be great independent thinkers are turn into feminazi commie jerks....(the continuing pussification of men in society now---<---it's from this socialist practices---)

real men don't sit and wait to be fed, real women bring up kids to be independent, and make something of themselves---and LIES are immoral--to the socialist --LIES are just a mean to get more control...

295 #48  I still say this wouldn't have become big news if CNN hadn't gotten hold of that diary.  The diary did two things:

1. It got Anderson Cooper and a few of the others at CNN see that an ambassador had been hung out to dry with no security.

2. It let them know where to go looking for information.

I am not certain that diary was actually found in Benghazi.  It could have been dug up by someone going through his rooms in Tripoli and forwrded to the media.

Or even more interesting is if Stephens had documented all of his security requests and then told a trusted friend to "forward this to Anderson Cooper if I don't come back alive."

That's an excellent question Martha Raddatz. And please don't bring up the complete canard of the Obama Budget that would have covered this. So...let's get this straight. It is the election of a pitiful incumbent who may or may not be a greenish socialist leprechaun with a twitchy mole and gummy grin vs the dignified former governor of MA. In this election, special rules exist, for if you discuss the incumbent's pathetic record, or current events, it is "politicizing" issues in a political race.

Who the heck do they think Dear Leader is? Kim Jung Il? What happened to Hillary's mantra about "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." Oh! I forgot, that is only for Democrats when a Republican is the incumbent!

This would be laughable if lives were not at stake in both the military and at home. They have shown how weak we are...might as well have put "Go ahead and attack us, we are weak" on a banner flying from the roof of the WH.To have such weak leaders, stupid leaders, clueless leaders, and socialist narcissists in power in DC is truly scary.

I hope they keep pushing this narrative, as the press has slowly woken up to the monster they helped create.

Please pray for Paul Ryan. Pray daily for this election. Please pray for our country.
