The left co-opted education from the teacher training grounds (Ayers may be many things, but he's not a fool) and many otherwise intelligent teachers that I've known never got past that early indoctrination. There are conservative, moderate and apolitical teachers that stick to their content, or teach kids to think for themselves, but we're generally not the demonstrative type.
