1 Man, I have missed a lot of good threads today. And it's not like I was doing anything useful, either.

52 BCochran, same here.  We have a tornado siren near us, and just like when we lived in IL, it scares the pee out of me when it goes off.

A few years ago, we had the Weather Channel (pbut) on, and my son and I heard our fucking street name called out!  A twister went over us, took out the steeple of a church a few miles away, and destroyed a couple of houses.

You never, ever, want to hear your street called out during a tornado warning.  Eeek.

55 I hate to play devil's advocate for cloven-hoofed Crowley but perhaps she inappropriately used "Seoul" instead of South Korea the way some might use Washington to stand for the U.S. government.   Or she just goofed and said Seoul instead of SK.

North Korea killed 46 South Korean sailors in 2010 and later that year killed 2 civilians.

It would be equally stupid to say "Pyongyang killed 46 South Koreans."

In any case, Crowley is blinded by here ideology, whether her foot is in her mouth or not.

I have very important WoW character leveling and avoiding doing anything that even possibly resembles maybe cleaning to do on the weekends.

One so fair should not concern herself with the base and monotonous activities associated with the ritual of the Spring cleansing.

123 When Cabrera was 10 he became a caddy at the Córdoba Country Club, which he says almost became his home. He learned golf playing against other caddies for money. His fierce determination and powerful swing soon caught the eye of members, one of whom, Juan Cruz Molina, a local real estate magnate, bought him his first set of clubs when he was 16.
With his stocky figure and habit of smoking at every hole, Cabrera cut a distinctive figure on the course. He is also acknowledged as having one of the biggest swings in the game.

By the way, she got a degree in engineering, married another engineer, and moved to Oregon for work. She and her husband were visiting over spring break and we had a very nice talk about how nuts the people in Oregon are, and the resulting high cost of living. 253 #175  I have a young guy who runs a lawn service with his wife.  I pay them $40 for every mow of my 1/2 acre yard.  This includes weedeating all of the flower beds in the back (7 large perennial beds), the walks, the beds in the front (3) and the fences.

It all gets done in 15 minutes because they bring 2 mowers and a guy to weedeat.

When my husband is home,  he doesn't mow.  He likes to watch THEM mow.

I gave our mower to my son so grandson can mow.  It takes him a couple of hours to do their yard.

I imagine your neighbor got tired of waiting for them to findtime between sports practices,  plus she was tired of flowers being cut down with careless trimming.  After my husband cut down 2 peoniy plants assuming they were weeds,  I refused to let anyone but the lawn service mow.

Nowadays my folks have Mexicans do it. Are they cheap? No. Are they giving out jobs that "Americans don't do"? Well, the first offer went to neighborhood teens, but they couldn't bother showing up, and the job went to some Mexican guys, so I guess the answer to that is technically yes. I'd be more angry at the parent who overlooks this work ethic than at the lazy teen himself.

Also, if this was discussed in a court of law, it'd be determined to be a true statement, since NK attacks Seoul computers daily.
