Sununu: I Wish Obama Would Learn "How To Be An American"
— Ace

Another Romney surrogate on the conference call (unidentified here) said that Obama's polices were tantamount to "socialism."

"The president clearly demonstrated that he has absolutely no idea how the American economy functions. The men and women all over America who have worked hard to build these businesses, their businesses from the ground up is how our economy became the envy of the world -- it is the American way," Sununu said in his opening remarks of the conference call.

He added: "I wish this president would learn how to be an American."

The first question to Sununu later in the call was about that comment, which exploded quickly on Twitter for its stark claim about Obama.

"What I thought I said, but I guess I didn't say, is that the president has to learn the American formula for creating business," he said. "If I didn't give all that detail I apologize."

Well, as various DNC flacks said of Romney, when he asked Obama to get his staff under control: Stop whining.

8 Nothing outrageous here.  He's not mining a "birther" vein.

It is very possible, and in fact unfortunately common, to be an American but fail to act like one.  Some need learning.

13 At the "meet and greet" for ISREAL [sic] ...

Ms. Wasserman Schultz made her appearance quite late and this appeared to force the other speakers to go on longer than they had expected.

Daylin Leach, who represents the 17th District in the state senate, told the crowd that the Republican Party was full of anti-Semitism. He said, without irony in front of the synagogue's podium that the Republicans are theocrats who don't believe in separation of church and state, all the while describing the importance of his Jewish values. He, as did most of the speakers, reiterated the GOP's opposition to abortion as a reason they most not be allowed to have the presidency back. When he spoke dismissively that Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia would be opposed by those with Jewish family values, he was rebutted from the audience with a cry of "not true" stopping him cold.

This, many times over.  If only Obastard could earn as much hate from the Right as the impure RINOs we'd have the right mind set.

The Left never, ever, in any form, at any time, apologized for the over-the-top lunacy they engaged in re George Bush.  And apparently it did them no harm at all because they got the most radically leftist piece of shit Prez in history elected.

It's well known that a lie, repeated often enough, is believed.  It can work that way for the truth, too.  Bash Obie McJugears daily, and ruthlessly.  Bash him.  It will soak in.  Handling him with kid gloves will earn you no points.  And being called racist?  Pfft.  We're calle racist all day every day as it is.  What more is there to do when the Left always plays the same hand - 5 of a kind, all the race card.

Every now and then, he pierces the veil. HeÂ’s usually pretty coy about his ideology, but he lets the veil slip from time to time. Â… His straw man argument is this ridiculous caricature where heÂ’s trying to say if you want any security in life, you stick with me. If you go with these Republicans, theyÂ’re going to feed you to the wolves because they believe in some Hobbesian state of nature, and itÂ’s one or the other which is complete bunk, absolutely ridiculous. But it seems to be the only way he thinks he can make his case. HeÂ’s deluded himself into thinking that his so-called enemies are these crazy individualists who believe in some dog-eat-dog society when what heÂ’s really doing is basically attacking people like entrepreneurs and stacking up a list of scapegoats to blame for his failures.

His comments seem to derive from a naive vision of a government-centered society and a government-directed economy. It stems from an idea that the nucleus of society and the economy is government not the people. Â… It is antithetical to the American idea. We believe in free communities, and this is a statist attack on free communities. Â… As all of his big government spending programs fail to restore jobs and growth, he seems to be retreating into a statist vision of government direction and control of a free society that looks backward to the failed ideologies of the 20th century.

This is not a Bill Clinton Democrat. HeÂ’s got this very government-centric, old 20th century collectivist philosophy which negates the American experiment which is people living in communities, supporting one another, having government stick to its limits so it can do its job really well Â… Those of us who are conservative believe in government, we just believe government has limits. We want government to do what it does well and respect its limits so civil society and families can flourish on their own and do well and achieve their potential.

How does building roads and bridge justify Obamacare? If you like the GI Bill therefore we must go along with socialized medicine. ItÂ’s a strange leap that he takes. Â… To me itÂ’s the laziest form of a debate to affix views to your opponent that they do not have so you can demonize them and defeat them and win the debate by default

I think he believes America was on the right path until Reagan came along, and Reagan got us going in the wrong direction. And and he wants to be as transformational as Reagan by undoing the entire Reagan revolution. Â… I think he sees himself as bringing about this wave of progressivism, and the only thing stopping him are these meddling conservatives who believe in these founding principles so he has to caricature them in the ugliest light possible to win the argument.

I'd rather see the GOP engage in some hard-hitting verfiable charges, such as "Obama outsourced the stimulus to the Democrats in Congress, who then used it to pay off campaign contributors." And then list them.

Or, "Obama's corrupt energy department invested in companies connected to campaign donors who then went bankrupt, putting their employees out of work." Then list the companies and the amounts.

Obviously he's unaware that the character has been in the comics since 1993, before Bain Capital was ever on anyone's radar politically.

Did you ever stop to think that Limbaugh might not be  a comic reader like you?  You know, he might actually  have read real books.

84 To be fair, why would Limbaugh or any other adult be expected to know the history of Bane? Only comic book types know this crap (including me).

85 " To me itÂ’s the laziest form of a debate to
affix views to your opponent that they do not have so you can demonize
them and defeat them and win the debate by default"

Anyone who's every worked with a liberal can attest that they are lazier than the average bear.

The only time they seem to work hard is when they're tearing down stuff others have built.

They are like some kind of weird evolutionary cul-de-sac that can only exist in a society whose affluence precedes their appearance. No wonder they don't see the hard work that goes into building a civilization. It was mostly done before they came on the scene.

86 The first time Batman fought Bane, the currently sitting President was being voted out of office.

I'm very glad to see him back.

87 82 >>> Did you ever stop to think that Limbaugh might not be a comic reader like you?

Then maybe he shouldn't engage in horseshit paranoid speculation.

And I'm willing to bet good money that I've read far more "real" books than Limbaugh has.

And you can go fuck yourself, asshole.

Seeing as how it was said earlier *here* that the *dems* were playing that game about the batman movie, maybe Rush was just reporting on it.  And I can't believe I'm saying this, but, geesh man.

Well, the thing is, you didn't build that relationship. It wasn't because of hard work and sacrifice, it was because of other people, and because it was because of other people, you really don't deserve the fruits of your union."

"I wish this president would learn how to be an American."

That's awesome. It's succinct, and gets to the heart of it. Socialism is inherently anti-American, and Obama's a socialist (or collectivist, to be more precise). He even dares to properly apply the "s-word".

As I have said elsewhere, Obama's commentary not only shows his contemt for personal property rights (it's essentially a laughable rationalization for the govt seizing private property) - which is central to "being an American", but also his contempt for the rule of law - which is essential for civilized self-government in general.

96 or Limbaugh could have had one of his researchers do a minute of googling and realize that the Dems are fucking retarded in trying to draw comparisons between Bain and Bane. It's really sloppy on Limbaugh's part

You know that scene towards the end of Step Brothers where Will Ferrell is trying to become a grown-up and tells his therapist he has so many questions and starts asking all sorts of ridiculous ones?  I keep picturing Obama there after he loses; this guy has a whole lot of things he needs to learn.

Here in NY, we borrowed money to build the I-90 (before there was even an Interstate system), with the arrangement that it would be paid off by charging tolls, and the tolls would end once it was paid off. So we PAID for that road. That was the deal.

Once the road was paid off, the kept the tolls anyway, to pay for maintenance (which we already pay taxes for). Not only did they keep the tolls, they more than doubled. They broke their deal.

Now Obama's coming back and saying that that the govt isn't satisfied with even that - that we actually OWE MORE, because now the govt is claiming a share in money earned by businesses because they used the thruway. Wow.

It was always interesting to watch the retired folks come out to ask the lawmakers why the NYS Lottery, which, according to them was supposed to cover education, didn't work and the retired folks still had to pay enormous school taxes.  They were always a huge crowd and they were always dismissed by the lawmakers and it was never ever explained to them where the lottery money is going if not for education.

107 [Repost] It seems to me like the govt is starting to unravel at the seams:

EXEC BRANCH: It started with Obama strong-arming BP into handing over their reparations fund for his goons to manage, when Obama's job is to enforce the law - which said that BP's liability was a fraction of that amount. Then there was the illegal war on Libya, where he consulted the UN, but not Congress. Then the recess appointment, when Congress wasn't in recess. Now there's the 1st Contempt of Congress of any sitting cabinet-level position, as Obama pisses on Congress's oversight authority.

LEGIS BRANCH: Senate hasn't passed a budget in 3 years; rolls over for Obama.

JUDICIAL BRANCH: Regardless of which way the decision went, the minority and majority opinions for the biggest decision in a generation were written, in large part BY THE SAME GUY. In addition, the court had already abolished private property rights (via Kelo), but now our personal spending decision are not our own either.

All this stuff is WAY outside anything America ever called "normal", and it has happened in a very short time. Sonunu has really "called it", when he essentially calls out Obama for being un-American (a very alien thing for the US President to be).

110 Some people go around praising and thanking God for everything and saying they could not even have begun to have got it or done it without Him. His Royal Majesty, King Insane Hussein Obama, feels that he should have no less position and worship for himself and from everybody. This is Obama's pathology. The man is nuts.

To Insane Hussein everything comes from the state, which is now him, and without it, and him, individuals would be nothing and have nothing, when in fact the state gets everything it has from individuals and would be nothing, and have nothing, without them. Obama is quite mad - on the level of a rabid dog. He should be locked up in a mental institution.
