As much as the media tried to shield their hero, it's apparently not working.
Team Obama is now in full damage control mode, including a TV ad where Obama tries to explain that taking him at his word is taking him, wait for it......., out of context.
Yeah, if you're making that ad, you are seeing something very scary in your polling and focus groups.

The context is worse than the quote. Pay attention to the parts about how there are lots of people who work hard and lots of smart people (who aren't successful).
It's all a poorly reasoned conclusion that successful business owners must have somehow succeeded through some unfairness. And the unfairness he sees is that they used resources for which we all paid. Which unfairness he means to remedy through additional levies, taxes and fees--make them pay their fair share.
This notion, that if you've ever received any help from any person or entity (even if you paid for it) then you are forever indebted to such, is so wrong--there is no logical endpoint to the mischief, misery and servitude under such a scheme. No good end to the "I helped you once so now and forever you owe me and must do as I say."
I wouldn't tolerate such an attitude from my neighbor merely because he picked up my mail when I was on vacation. Nor should I tolerate such an attitude from my government. But, this is worse. This is the neighbor coming over with the police three years later and saying, "I see you can afford to pay someone to mow your lawn now. Since I picked up your mail three years ago and there was that check in there you really needed, the law here says you now have to pay that guy to mow my lawn too."

No Mr. President, Americans build their own business to create a better life for themselves and their familes. To make money. To buy things. To go on trips.
The other stuff is a byproduct of all that. People don't build businesses to benefit other people or the country at all. People build businesses to better themselves. That is what you don't get. We benefit because of what the entrepreneurial class does, but they most certainly don't do things for our primary benefit.

This is exactly the attitude that has gotten us into this mess. You can't just look out for yourself and expect to be successful. This is what created the catastrophe on Wall Street, where all of those banks were just trying to make money by taking advantage of minorities. "Out of context"? I found the exact quote - in COMPLETE context on whitehouse.com. there are about 4 paragraphs near the end of that speech, where he elaborates - AT LENGTH - EXACTLY what he meant. It's very clear that he's saying that successful people owe their success to the government help they have recieved over their lifetimes. The paragraph starts with the sentence, "If you were successful, somebody aalong the line [and the examples given are all governmental] gave you some help." The previous one includes, "...if youÂ’ve been successful, you didnÂ’t get there on your own..."
Basically, he says it THREE times, and follows up with additional material, besides.
Nobody familiar with Obama's background should be surprised at him breaking into stereotypical communist rhetoric. Again, be sure to check out Breitbart's new article where they they interview the author of a new book on Frank Marshall Davis. Seeing all the dots connected about that guy is really eye-opening. If that ever hit the mainstream, that alone would sink Obama - about 3 seconds.
