From the perfect visual he served up with his missed three pointers to the institutional breakdown of the not-so-Secret Service to focusing on priorities like being Michelle's own personal Fodor's on the taxpayers' dime there was no shortage of embarrassment for the administration. Throw in Hilary (Who?) Rosen's crass attack on Ann Romney and stay-at-home-moms in general and the other Hillary following the administration's "Party All the Time" motto in Colombia, and there was already enough material to keep the RNC ad guys busy from now 'til November.
But then the coup de grace was delivered by David Axelrod's stumping for the GOP nominee:
The choice in this election is between an economy that produces a growing middle class and that gives people a chance to get ahead, and their kids a chance to get ahead, and an economy that continues down the road weÂ’re on.
Couldn't have said it better myself, Axe. All Team Obama really ever had was running for "change" (and against George W. Bush). It shouldn't be a surprise that they're going to keep going to that well even though it's bone dry. Good luck with that.

Last time I heard this one trotted out it was qualified by trips to Camp David. I think that was for number of vacations, not vacation days, but I'll bet there's some technical bullshit in that claim. Barry seems to prefer exotic locations while W spent a good deal of time at Camp David, which is essentially White House II.

There are a lot of people who are "independents". Technically every voter in SC is an independent since they are not registered by Party.
What there is not is a large pool of "flip-flopping" voters that switch back and forth between the parties. Rove says that it is about 7%. I believe it is less than 5%.
I have lived all over this country, North, South, East, and West and I have never personally known anyone who who flip-flops back and forth between parties. Most of the people I have known who are like that are apolitical and don't vote at all.

Thanks for the optimism. I think there's actually reason for some at this point. The Obozo clown circus seems utterly inept when it comes to crafting a message that does what it needs to do - which is, shift the focus away from King Putt's abysmal record. He is still raising lots of cash though, and I don't see the MSM abandoning him en masse, even though there are a few cracks in the dyke.

I think the best way the GOP can handle the whole Buffett Rule BS is to announce that in principle they agree with Obama, but will need first need to meet with him to discuss his plans for the remaining 97 percent of the deficit.
It doesn't matter if the BR is a good idea or not, because of course talks with Obama would never go anywhere, anyway, anytime.

I like some of the policy proposals, they make a lot of sense especially the closing deductions while lowering the rates. It's tax neutral, but puts more money in the pockets of small businesses for capital expansion.
The Dems are going to demagogue it though. Eliminate HUD = throwing people out onto the street. Reducing Dept of Ed = keeping people in poverty with no way to educate themselves out.
His concern about Hispanics tells me they think this election is going to be fought in the Mountain West. New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado are the key states, all three of which he is currently losing. Being Mormon will help him in NV and CO though.

Let them demagogue all they want to. All Mitt has to do is point out the test scores and how far our children have fallen compared to the rest of the world rankings in education. I even saw a ready-made commercial on that very subject this weekend on the Golf Channel, of all places. I think it was a teacher's union ad for more money, IINM.
Hell, all that needs to happen in the schools is to bust the teachers unions and revamp the curriculum. Weed out the lefties and teach the simple truth and the rest will take care of itself. I know, I know, easier said than done...

If I recall correctly (and I may not), there were a number of Senate races that looked like they would be Republican holds, in close races, and very late they all went in the other direction. If I wasn't lazy I'd look them up, but I'm assuming these are the same races that look like they'll be switchbacks this year.

I'm with you that I would like to see taxes go down overall, but the political reality is that you can't go there. The public isn't with us on this point. They can be persuaded to accept revenue neutral, but not reduced revenues. Take that as a positive, we have won the fight that budget deficits are a Big F'in Deal.

I don't like it, it pisses me off that people are so dumb. But it is what it is.
What I take from it is that when he shows Romney with a 4 point lead head to head, it means Romney really does have a close to outside the MOE lead. It isn't bullshit like those ABC or TIPP polls.

That's exactly why I'll be voting for the Republican nominee. The road we're on leads to more taxes and stagnation with union haves and the rest of the country becoming have-nots. Because of my military pension, I can never become one of the 45+ percent getting government handouts. Hell, I can't even get unemployment, which would have been nice a couple years ago when I was temporarily unemployed. It's not like the company I worked for didn't pay into it for me.

18% is way too high. 10% max. Remember we are talking about a flat tax here. Keep in mind the average 2 person family with an income of $60K will pay less than 8% with the current system.

The biggest reason why I settled on Romney is he's the type to take the bait with issues like birth control, he'll focus like a laser on Obama's failures.
If George W. Bush can win two elections in this country, Romney should have no trouble knocking someone off with an 8% unemployment rate and $4 a gallon gas.

Romney is surrounded by Republican political operatives, who haven't figured out that pandering for the Latino vote is a mirage, and pisses off the base.
The GOP would be much better off trying to peel off 5-10% of blacks with a social conservative and anti-immigration message.
I'll wait to see the details of the proposal, but if its just the DREAM Act in disguise, phhtt go my donations I've been making each month.

To be fair, eliminating deductions and lowering tax rate would be a big conservative win.
And actually eliminating or consolidating some federal departments would be the biggest conservative win in 50 years. Even Reagan wasn't able to pull that off.

The ones mentioned in the article were the second home mortgage deduction and the state and local tax deductions (which are a federal subsidy for high tax states). Both are bad ideas whose death is long overdue.

Meanwhile, Hillary is snogging back beers and dancing like she is having flashbacks of Woodstock, with arms akimbo and batwings a-flapping.
So, I ask in all seriousness (which I'll admit is not my normal Ace behavior), how can Latin America, heck: the USA, view this administration as "above board" or "serious" about the causes they claim to be there for? You know, stuff like, the economy or oil drilling or trade or something along those lines. Instead it is party time! Yehaw.
