Ted Nugent Meets Secret Service
— Dave in Texas

No hookers. As far as we know.

Nugent, 63, confirmed in a statement that “two fine, professional Secret Service agents” came to see him Thursday in Oklahoma, where he was scheduled to play Ardmore’s 2 Frogs Grill that night.

By his account, all parties concluded “that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. . . I thanked them for their service, we shook hands and went about our business.”

"Anyone" meaning a person or persons, and not a critter that can be legally killed and grilled.

Just for funs.

My cousin killed a mountain lion one time and butchered it and froze the meat.  My uncle never had supper at his house again.  Thought he might try to slip some on his plate.

Posted by: IllTemperedCur at April 19, 2012 06:01 PM (Rhie+)

26 Slightly OT:

Michelle and I tried organic, free range dog some time ago.  Let me be clear: free-range terriers are quite earthy and chewy.  I suggest supping on a nice, plump lap dog, one that is fed only the highest quality dog food.  The meat is tender and juicy.  The meat doesn't have that earthy taste from foraging for natural food.

Roast the dog with some fennel and serve with a side of jasmine rice and soup.

Heavenly.

48 Top ten reasons for Ted Nugent for President:

10.  White house would not need a chef -- just a smoker and a barbeque in the Rose Garden.  Ted prefers to grill his own kills.

9.  No more outrageous taxpayer funded entertainments at the White House -- Ted can provide all the music they need.

8.  No more expensive foreign vacations -- Ted prefers to pay for his own vacations, and prefers to hunt and fish in the US.

7.  White House meat bills will be lower.  See #8.

6.  No more war on terror.  Ted would terrify terrorists: "Our failure has been not to Nagasaki them." He'd surely rectify that.

5.  The only kind of gun control he'll promote is good aim.

4.  Welfare reform? Sure.  He promises to "Slash the living hell out of the waste and corruption and the outrageous army of do-nothing bureaucrats. I would fire every government worker whose job I would deem to be redundant and wasteful. No able-bodied human being would ever get a handout again."

3.  He has a catchy slogan: "The whole world sucks, but America still sucks less," followed by, "But with this administration, we are catching up."

2. He does not have a thin skin.

1.  No need for Secret Service protection.

52 Did Nug dodge the draft to get out of going to Vietnam? If so, he sucks. It's easy to talk the talk, it's another thing entirely to write that blank check to the country payable with everything, up to and including your life. And yes, I served 20. I like his take on politics, but I'll be damned if I put a draft dodger up on a pedestal. He can kiss my ass.

Getting into the lottery and pulling a high number isn't draft dodging. You have about over 20 million of us to fuck with if that is what you are saying.

Dittos on TJ, there Brian. Don't be slammin' those of us who won our own lottery early! If you recall, the DoD was run into the ground by that traitor McNamara, who thought American boys were just cogs in the machine, to be thrown out when they broke! Not a pretty picture for encouraging service, even for those who were patriots then, and remain so now.

56 Ted Nugent bragged that he went quite a while without a shower and then showed up to the induction center with his own feces in his pants. They gave him a deferment.  Is this what an honorable man does? I don't understand why people put this guy up on a pedestal. He is a  showbiz caricature of a baddass. He runs a canned hunt operation. Sorry, all the baddass talk is just that. He's a pussy. I have no respect for him. If pointing out this guy's failings offend you, so be it.

Posted by: Brian at April 20, 2012 06:43 PM (5HIbd)

57 Funny thing about Macnamara- he did a bang up job for Ford Motor Co, so the administration thought that since he was the smartest guy in the room, he could run a war. Big object lesson there. Sometimes the "smartest ones in the room" lack  common sense. In war, you are not using logic- you are using psychology- you need to convince your enemy that the road they are going down will lead to their utter distruction. Negotiating with implaccable enemies only encourages them and prolongs the conflict. So what have we now? The "smartest man alive" in the White House, and our state department negotiating with the oh-not-so implaccable Taliban.
