— Jack M. I was watching the "news" accounts of the ongoing Obama-fiasco in Libya and Egypt this morning, and I couldn't help but come to one headline/twitter friendly conclusion:
"Obama Apologized. American Ambassador Eulogized. First Amendment Marginalized."
Perhaps I should add a subsidiary clause to the phrase: maybe something like "Media Sanitized" in reference to the way they are scrambling to protect their precious president as he speaks softly and stumblingly slams his little stick in the Muslim Brotherhood's front door.
But I'm not writing this post to focus on media bias. Others do that, and they do it better than I do. I'm writing this post for a different reason.
I'm angry. I'm angry at a hypocritical, feckless President who personally spikes the football over Bin Laden's death while his state department apologizes to Islamists for the exertion of similar First Amendment rights by other Americans who aren't lucky enough to be anointed god-kings.
I'm angry that a posturing, empty-suit of a president lectures Americans on "denigrating religious views" when he is on record as referring to Americans of faith as "bitter clingers", and when he has campaign surrogates attacking his opponent for being a Mormon.
I'm angry that our stroke-addled, possibly brain-damaged Vice President describes 9/11 as a "bittersweet" day, as our embassies are burning and Americans are being killed.
I'm angry over the fact that we spent blood and treasure in Obama's "Lead from Behind Libyan Adventure" only to see our Ambassador murdered and dragged thru the streets by the very people Obama placed in power.
I'm angry that we helped force an ally out in Egypt knowing he'd be replaced with an Al-Qaeda friendly government that enjoyed watching its minions take the first symbolic opportunity they had to burn our flag and replace it with Al-Qaeda's.
I'm angry that at a time when Al-Qaeda's flag flies over the Cairo embassy, the mis-administration prepares to forgive over $1 BILLION in Egyptian debt.
I'm angry that "Pimp With A Limp" gets to talk to the president, while Bibi Netanyahu, whose allied country faces a potential nuclear annihilation, gets to talk to the hand.
I'm angry that the gut instinct of this mis-Administration is to sympathize with and excuse those who hold our fundamental values in contempt as those same people actively seek any pretext they can find to slaughter us where we stand.
I'm angry that the mis-Administration's paltry response to a region-wide attack on America, which is, incidentally, what this is, is to deploy 50 Marines to Libya and jet-off to a Vegas fundraiser while preparing a top-ten list for Letterman's show.
I'm angry that the cornerstone freedoms of speech and religious liberty enshrined in our Constitution are so routinely dismissed and mocked by this mis-Administration. 1st Amendment freedom of speech? "Not if it hurts feelings" we are told. Freedom of religion? "Not if it stands between our mis-Administration and giving Sandra Fluke a free abortion should she want one" we are hectored.
But with four Americans dead, our flag burning, and our embassies trashed, you know what really makes me angry?
Our president isn't.
Think about that fact.
Our president isn't. He read a bland and bloodless set of prepared remarks for 10 minutes, hid behind Hillary Clinton's ever-widening skirt, took no questions, and then thought the best thing he could do would be to hit the Vegas strip.
The truth is this: yesterday I read that the President's team came out swinging against the "2016:Obama's America" movie.
They didn't like the way the president was portrayed. So they attacked Dinesh D'souza and, for some reason, Tea Partiers.
Here is the language they used on BarackObama.com:
“It should say enough about D’Souza’s credibility that a movie catering to the Tea Party attacks someone for allegedly ‘anti-colonial’ views,” the entry reads. “His attempts to hide his lies behind pseudo-scholarly presentation and glossy production values cannot withstand basic scrutiny. The facts show that 2016: Obama’s America is nothing more than an insidious attempt to dishonestly smear the President by giving intellectual cover to the worst in subterranean conspiracy theories and false, partisan attacks.”
That's tougher than anything Obama said in response to the death of an American ambassador, his staff, or the attack on our embassy grounds.
Which I guess suggests a lesson of sorts. Like those who attacked our embassies and killed our personnel, Obama seems to get riled up by movies that make a point of smearing a self-proclaimed false-messianic prophet.
We can do better. We have to do better. I'm doing all I can to vent my anger into something constructive. I hope you'll join me.

Yeah, how many times did the Democrats "spike the football" at their convention, "Obama killed Osama", "Osama is dead, GM is alive", etc. 12? 20? I know it's got to be in the double digits. Yet we are suppose to believe that some obscure internet movie was the impetus for the violence and murder inflicted on Americans? Bullcrap!
Yesterday, the NYT had that piece about how GWB had been warned numerous times of "credible threats" regarding 9/11, and he chose to "do nothing because it was not in line with his desire to avenge his father's failures in Iraq." Today, we find out that Obama hadn't had a National Security Briefing since 9/5. He didn't bother to protect our embassies on the anniversary of 9/11. His Empty Chairness has been too busy making campaign appearances, doing interviews with fluff media, going golfing, etc., he hasn't been fulfilling the basic obligations of being President. Yet the MFM is freaking silent on his failures and attacks Mitt Romney for having the audacity to appear presidential when the Empty Chair in Chief is nowhere to be seen.

...Romney has finally won over my vote.
I see no real difference between them domestically, but I am confident Romney will act (and react) swiftly and decisively to events such as those that happened this morning.
The single most important issue in any political race should always be National Security. Without said security, all other arguments and issues are academic and moot.
Obama is bad for America domestically, but he is flat-out dangerous on matters of foreign policy and National security.
Posted by: Sgt. York at September 12, 2012 12:20 PM (1IPWs)
The "statement" read by Barky today was completely flat and emotionless. Somebody on another thread said it sounded like he was announcing the start of national broccoli month.
Barky read that statement because he was forced by events to do so. What has me worried is that he really doesn't believe a word of it. He sent that Ambassador into a dangerous situation in Libya, without adequate military protection, and the Americans were assassinated. Even their safe house was leaked and assaulted.
Barky has made a big deal out of killing OBL, and the reports are that Barky is very involved in the drone attacks by the military. I think Barky is one of those guys who likes to kill things, and what side he's on doesn't really matter. He really is a sociopath, and one of the tells of that is flattened affect. I've always gotten the feeling when listening to him that there's nothing really "there" when he speaks, it's all just an act.
He acts the way he thinks he's supposed to act, because there's nothing inside but emptiness.

An excellent post, with a great tone, and making a lot of points, and connecting a lot of dots I wouldn't have thought of.
I especially enjoy the line, "Our president isn't." I'm sure his apologists will say he's just "Mr. Cool", but really - it's more than a little odd.
I'm only wondering about the "Blood and treasure" reference regarding Libya. We didn't have any casualties, there, did we? And the "treasure" was pretty modest, in the grand scheme of things. I thought the outrage there was in essentially going to war, putting our guys at risk, without even consulting with Congress (and then lying and saying he did).

Thank you! Thank you! Killing an Ambassador, killing other staff (I heard there were two Marines), sacking an Embassy are acts of war. Furthermore, no country that permits its citizens to storm our embassy or take our flag should get one penny of our aid in any way, shape, or form until the perpetrators are punished and the government figures out they it/they had better protect our stuff with their own lives.
President Romney is the only patriotic American running for the presidency. I hope all Americans finally wake up and take notice. This is not your traditional Democratic Party. This is now a party of radicals who want nothing more than the demise or defeat of American power and American ideals of freedom. They are gnawing at the fabric from both inside and out. I am expecting a wave election. This had better be a wave election.

This is Obama and the media taking a double-dip of Romney's London Olympics 'gaffe.'
Here is the next-to-last paragraph on the CNN.com story this morning:
The last time foreign policy was in the spotlight during the 2012 presidential campaign came in late July, when Romney traveled to England, Israel and Poland to meet with leaders and tour historic sights. Despite a few successes on the trip, including being endorsed by a beloved Polish labor leader, the foreign swing is remembered chiefly for a series of gaffes from the GOP candidate, including suggesting that London was not well-prepared for the Summer Olympics.

President Obama was notified today by the U.S. Office of Special Counsel that one of his key Cabinet officials violated the Hatch Act, the law that restricts the political activity of anyone employed or holding office in the Executive Branch except for the President and Vice President.
Carolyn Lerner, head of the U.S. Office of Special Counsel concluded that Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius violated the Hatch Act when she served as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker at the February 25, 2012 gala for the pro-gay rights Human Rights Campaign in Charlotte, North Carolina.
. . .
In a letter to Lerner, Sebelius seemed to take issue with the some of the report, noting that she reimbursed the U.S. Treasury for related expenses. It “seems somewhat unfair to conclude that, as a result of my off-hand statements, I used my official title for political purposes,” she wrote, saying “the violation was technical and minor. These are not the type of violations that the Hatch Act is intended to address.”

145 I forgot Mogadishu. I'm still steaming that we did nothing there.
----------
I thought we landed some marines there, after telling the press where and when they were going to land so they could all be there with their lights screwing everything up.
Or am I thinking of a different incident?
Posted by: Anachronda at September 12, 2012 12:50 PM (IrbU4)
Well, at least the media didn't claim Romney's response was racist.
Damn, we knew we forgot something!

Yet somehow I am supposed to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up and not incite the little dears. How? By not breathing? Because that's really all that I can see that will do that.

Alexthechick - you summarized it exactly for me. Add to that, I am a military mom. They want me and my kid dead for that. We are evangelical Christians. They want us dead for that. We are strong supporters of Israel. They want us exterminated for that.
I am offensive to muslims with every thing that is me. The only way I would not be offensive to them is to be erased, which they desire to do. And I'm supposed to be okay with that, so as not to give offense.
No. No.

No, of course not- back to the familiar strategy of demonizing people instead of addressing the issues.

I wish I could put into words my feelings as well as you just did. I agree whole heartedly and once again want to thank your son and all the other soldiers out there that try to protect us everyday... God bless...

He has no time nor temperament for worrying about this little stuff. After all, a few more dead bit actors in the Grand Play Of His Awesome Life are really of no consequence. After all, meetings with rappers and a DJ named Pimp will carry his legacy long after the dirt has settled on the coffins of the hour.

It's time for the Romney campaign to break out the Jimmy Carter comparisons in a big way. What, exactly, could the press and the Obama campaign say or do in response? The far-Left liberal base loves Jimmy Carter, and Obama and company won't dare do anything to alienate the base. However, the rest of the country considers him the worst President in modern memory, and when they hear his name, they think 'weak', 'ineffectual', 'killer bunny rabbits.'
It'll work.

He can't manufacture outrage when he'd rather be gibbering like a dancing fool with delight that his co-religionists (and believe me, I'm using that word WAY loosely) have attacked the country he hates so much.
He's also walking a damned tightrope. If he shows any of that glee, he's toast in November*; but if he tries for patriotic outrage and fails to convince, as of course he would, it'll be just as bad. So he settles for acting all Mister Cool.
* I shouldn't write "toast." I like toast.

But Obama may lie to the Catholics of our country and tell them they won't have to pay for abortions--PSYCH! They WILL have to. Where's the sensitivity there? Or when Cardinal Dolan gave the Benediction at the DNC and the libtards said sensitive things like: "What's that anti-gay, anti-choice asshole doing?" I'm pretty pissed off becasue I had no idea I would be able to beat a liberal to death for that! My "religious feelings" were hurt!

Jack, I loved this post. Every. Single. Word. And I think the American people would agree with this, too. The MSM is covering up, but the American people cannot approve of this behavior from this admin.

145 and 170
Mogidishu HAPPENED.
I was there. First Vehicle out of the first LCAC on the beach.
Some of my very best friends from F co 2/9, "the boat company," had reconned the beach before we landed....
we got word SECONDS before we landed to go "guns COLD"!!
In the pre-dawn light, flashbulbs look surprisingly like muzzle-flashes. Those press-idiots never knew how close to dying they really were.

Shhhh.. you'll just encourage him and before you know it we'll have another rambling bourbon-inspired poem to deal with.
