It really works.
This is the only thing I remember about a Bill Clinton speech I attended in 1996 (not as a supporter, let me add).
They know what they are doing.
If you are intelligent, it's suspicious the first time and annoying every subsequent time. They are taking your stupidity for granted.

@14....
Ted Nugent endorsed Rick Perry, right after Perry got in the race.
Nugent is a staunch defender of 2ndA rights. ....So, I'm hoping this means that after his discussion with Romney, Romney promised to uphold our 2ndA rights.....and that the Nuge can hunt him down like a dog if he's lying about it.

I don't think that it is a positive.
I think one mistake that people often make is to think that a political team such as Obama's must be all-knowing. That they are playing a game of 3 dimensional chess.
I think it is easy to assume that things like laziness, arrogance, or other simple error sources can not creep into their planning.
In this case, I think that arrogance makes Obama and his team think that this stuff will work. And I think we will see a lot of this same error throughout his campaign.
A lot of people went along for this the first time, but I really don't think that will work now. He isn't as much of a "blank canvas" as he was in 2008. (He was virtually unknown at the time). Also, I think most independents are close to thinking that they were duped by this guy.

I don't believe Republicans are somehow above lying or verbally exploiting molehills to mountains... its just that they dont need to because there is a shit-ton of the lefts real mountains of lies/scandals/corruption/abuses that the media has been aggressively hiding.
I was never far left when I was younger.. at my low point I did once brag that my small town had the vagina monologues.. not that at the time I wanted to see them or had any delusions about radical angry feminists.... I just liked the my little city felt like the wide open future instead of the old cold repressed past.
Not long after that I ran into a string of psychopath radical gays and eco-fascist hypocrits all who came at me as some sort of far right winger... while at the same the left chose to view 9/11 through the lens of denial... and Daily Show and CNN couldn't stop lying about Iraq... well at that point I started going to Fox News and other things because I wanted to hear the other side of the story.
Eventually the empty calories of Sean Hannity and Fox News in general while sweet at first left me ultimately unfulfilled.. That's when I got into the much more satisfying and healthy world of political principles, unintended consequences weighed against good intentions, and the Founders original vision.

The one thing about that supposed hypnotic suggestions theory that 'fit' for me back in 2008 was "well maybe that would explain how people could say he was a good speaker" cuz I sure never here it when I listen to him on radio/internet. I thought he sounded very obviously like someone just reading the lines from the prompters.
Now living under all the destruction he has managed to inflict on us I just can't stand to listen to him at all. I can tell myself I should try "learn the mind of the enemy" but I never manage to force myself to do it.

Of course Obama would say "she'll be all right" if she'd had a heart attack ... so that makes it seem staged. Could he really take the chance of saying that, then she turns out NOT to be "all right".
So it could easily be a ruse, where he finally gets to act like he's in command, saving the fair maiden.

The fainting thing was a feature of almost every Obama rally in 2008. I know of no other candidate who has repeated faintings, or even one, at his appearances. And certainly, if it happened, it isn't covered by the press and noticed and commented on by the candidate.
This could be a coincidence. However, I think they are trying to keep him from going full-blown nutso so are catering to his demands for entertainment and adulation. Watch his schedule. It's all parties, fundraisers with adoring fans, rallies in front of college students who still think he's swell, black schools, Hollywood people performing at the White House, etc. All designed to make him the center of attention and make him feel loved and cool.
So I expect we will see more of this, because it isn't designed to fool us. It's designed to make him feel like he's king of the world. And that is why the press covers it as well. So Axelrod and Company can show him the tapes where he "takes command" and looks COOL.
