— andy And if it wasn't the tea party, it was some other rightwing nutjob! /MFM
Gabe posted the following on Twitter this morning, and, to be honest, I'd forgotten about half of them.
FLASHBACK: when Dr. Amy Bishop shot her colleagues, the Left speculated that she was a Tea Partier. In fact, she was an Obama donor.FLASHBACK: Discovery Channel hostage-taker was supposedly a climate change denier. In fact, he was an enviroweenie, D.Channel intern.
FLASHBACK: the census-taker was supposedly hanged by extremist anti-tax Tea Partiers. In fact, he hanged himself.
FLASHBACK: the Times Square Bomber was speculated to be upset about [Health Care Reform]. In fact, he was jihadi scum.
FLASHBACK: the guy who flew his plane into the IRS in TX was supposedly a Tea Partier. In fact, he quoted from the Communist Manifesto.
FLASHBACK: the guy who was stabbing NYC cabbies was supposedly an anti-Ground Zero Mosque Tea Partier. In fact, he supported the GZM.
FLASHBACK: the Pentagon shooter was supposedly a Tea Party extremist. In fact, he was a 9/11 Truther.
FLASHBACK: when the Ft. Hood shooting happened, the Left speculated that it was a “RWNJ.” In fact, it was a Muslim nutjob.
FLASHBACK: When the Tucson shooting occurred, it was immediately blamed on Tea Party rhetoric. In fact, Loughner was a-political & insane.
Is it just me, or is it odd that the media's go-to suspect in these things is always, always on the conservative side of the political spectrum. It's almost like they have an agenda or something.

Ever read the book Legacy of Ashes? It's about all the failures of the CIA from its inception. (The organization was left-infiltrated from the start.)
JFK's CIA tried many, many times to assassinate Fidel Castro. From what we know about LHO, it seems pretty obvious that Castro got tired of dodging would-be assassins and decided to return the favor--with more success, obviously.
But the Organized Left will keep making up their own "facts."

Actually, the example du jour is some lesbian wanting to be the Den Mother for her son. She claims that BSA won't let her "be involved" with her son's scouting.
Now, first: Even if BSA wanted to let her be Den Mother, they can't, because that opens the door to others.
Second: BSA isn't preventing her from being involved. She can still show up to den meetings in an unofficial capacity, she can show up to pack meetings in the same way. She can still help the kid with his scouting projects and such. The only things she can't do are be a Den Mother, the Pack Leader, or have any other official position of authority.
If she has a problem with that, she and the other gay parents can start up the Gay Scouts of America and do whatever they want. They (should) have no right to force their wishes on the private organization with which they voluntarily associate.

@115... It's my understanding that he targeted Giffords because she was his rep and she hadn't responded to his crazy letters and his presence at other Giffords events in a way that satisfied him, more like the crazies who try to kill other celebrities who ignore them...
There might be another reason. One of the 'ettes posted a couple of links here a few weeks back that the Giffords shooting was a hit on the judge that was ruling on a suit that involved the transfer of confiscated drug monies into high-ranking officials private accounts, and that JL was a pawn.
Not sure how much truth to give that theory, but given this administration's penchant for theft and underhanded dealings, I wouldn't be surprised.

Even though the Justice Department spent millions of dollars on the case, it was dropped for lack of evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The three defendants who pleaded guilty will receive the opportunity to retract their pleas.
Just 11 months ago, federal prosecutors dropped similar accusations against owners of HawaiiÂ’s Aloun Farms, whose tactics were used to keep foreign workers in their service. The case was dropped after the lead prosecutor misstated the law in front of a grand jury. The same team of federal prosecutors handled the Global Horizons case.

Regressives think that right-wingers are aggressive by nature for a few reasons. In no particular order:
1) We support gun ownership and our right to bear arms. Since we want to be allowed to own and use guns, we must be violent.
2) We are more likely to be pro-life. This would seem contra-indicative, but the regressives associate "pro-life" with "patriarchal control of the female reproductive system," which they extend to mean, "men who rape their girlfriends and wives (and sisters and daughters)." It's hyperbolic in the extreme, which is why it's a regressive mainstay.
3) We are more likely to be religious, or to hold some kind of religious belief. Similar to our likelihood to be pro-life, regressives assume that "religious belief" equals "male oppression of women." Since conservative men are all "angry white males" (ignoring that conservative views are held by men and women of all races and creeds), then religious belief is a violent act. Unless your muslim; see #6 for more on that.
4) We are more likely to be unabashedly ominivorous. Since we like to eat meat -- especially bacon -- we're violent and cruel because we support killing animals.
5) We are more likely to be strident in our opposition to illegal immigration. Regressives interpret this as, "CONSERVATIVES WANT TO STARVE, DESTROY, AND KILL BROWN PEOPLE." That's as stupid as it sounds, but it's what they believe. Forget that many of us are descended from LEGAL immigrants of all colors, shapes and sizes. They ignore the illegality and simply assume we're anti-humanity.
6) We are more likely to be strident in our opposition to militant Islam, and we're not shy about calling Islamist extremists "terrorists." Our penchant to call a terrorist a terrorist makes us violent, because we use violent rhetoric that demeans a cultural group (Muslims). Forget that we're not talking about every Muslim, only those who take part in terrorist acts. The fact that terrorist acts taken by Muslims are the dominant image most Westerners have of Muslims is the fault of the remaining muslims who don't stand up and say, "Those whackjobs don't speak for me."
7) Since we support the use of fossil fuels and existing energy sources and disavow the junk science of "global climate change," we're violent against Mother Earth. Regressives view our support for oil, coal, fracking, etc, as tantamount to rape; we're guilty of violently penetrating the Earth and taking what we want to satisfy our selfish needs. Our opposition to funding failing industries with no staying power in the market is EEEEVIL. The fact that conservatives would welcome a "cleaner" alternative to existing energy sources if it were affordable, easy to use, and abundant means nothing.
We respect our armed forces, and we support them in their fight all around the globe, even if we don't support the fight itself. To regressives, this makes us warmongers.
Because of all of these reasons -- and no doubt many more -- it's de rigeur for regressives to automatically assume that conservatives are more likely to commit evil, violent acts than their own regressive brethren. They conveniently ignore that conservatives actually have MORALS, believe in things like right and wrong, rewards and consequences, personal responsibility, and the basic right of all people to strive for a better life.

It’s an urban legend that the government launched the Internet. The myth is that the Pentagon created the Internet to keep its communications lines up even in a nuclear strike. The truth is a more interesting story about how innovation happens—and about how hard it is to build successful technology companies even once the government gets out of the way. . . .
If the government didnÂ’t invent the Internet, who did? Vinton Cerf
developed the TCP/IP protocol, the InternetÂ’s backbone, and Tim
Berners-Lee gets credit for hyperlinks. But full credit goes to the
company where Mr. Taylor worked after leaving ARPA: Xerox. It was at the
Xerox PARC labs in Silicon Valley in the 1970s that the Ethernet was
developed to link different computer networks. Researchers there also
developed the first personal computer (the Xerox Alto) and the graphical
user interface that still drives computer usage today. <<<<<

The trip was made through entirely "blue" states, and almost all of them "dark blue". I was expecting to be assaulted by Obama stickers, posters, etc everywhere I wentt, much as I was in '08. I was surprised and encouraged that I wasn't. Not that many or any of these states will flip, but that Zero's popular vote total will be reduced signifigantly.

93 - the fellow who shot Garfield was Charles Guiteau. Batshit crazy guy who started out in his dad's free love cult (and got tossed for trying to bang anything in a skirt, even the local bagpipe band), then became an itinerant preacher before printing a pamphlet supporting Garfield's election. After Garfield won, he figured it was because of the pamphlet, so sent letters demanding to be named ambassador to France. When he was ignored, he figured Garfield had been coopted by the powers that be in the GOP, so he shot Garfield to make Chester Alan Arthur, the VP (and a known spoilsman) president and thus get his ambassadorship.
Thus endeth the lesson.

Someone posted a link to a blog article about "how stupid Rush is to not know Batman mythology and think Bane was made up specifically to be a homonym with Bain."
It was a relatively active posting, with several of his other liberal friends joining with the "OMGWTF Rush is dumb!" responses.
I linked directly to the DNC spox who blurted out earlier in the week (several days before Rush said it) about the Bain / Bane comparisons that they felt were necessary to make.
Zero comments since.

The local paper finally ran a little story about all the McC signs that were being stolen or vandalized, and the next day they got a call about an O sign that had swastikas spray painted on it. Of course, the papers were all over that like stink on a hog. Could it have been a false-flag op? Yes, the DSM is the left's alternative to the legal system where nearly every human action has been criminalized, just in case the gov't needs to lock you up.
The DSM will eventually label every human interaction as being a sign of potential mental instability and create a reason for institutionalization for the trouble-makes that slipped the legal net. I think the DSM committee is using AoSHQ as a testing ground.

What I am contending is that ARPANet was effectively the prototype for the Internet, that it was funded by ARPA, and that most of the hardware used was funded by the government - either by ARPA or other DOD entities. Granted IBM built the Q32, SDS the 940 but under government contract. Indeed there were some off-the-shelf computers and devices. Nevertheless, the program was funded and directed by the government.

Guiteau then obtained a law license in Chicago, based on an extremely casual bar exam. He used his money to start a law firm in Chicago based on fraudulent recommendations from virtually every prominent American family of the day.[citation needed] He was not successful. He argued only one case in court, the bulk of his business being in bill collecting. Most of his cases resulted in enraged clients and judicial criticism
sounds familiar.

Norway's mass death tragedy happened despite their gun control laws. Although Norwegians can own hunting rifles, those weren't what killed all the summer camp youth massacred by outlawed automatic weapons and outlawed modified semi-automatic into automatic guns without police consent, and by outlawed high powered caliber hand guns.
No need to say "that happened over there; this over here, no parallel at all." Mexico outlaws all civilian firearms, and their disproportionately grotesque suffering is caused by being unarmed against their organized crime (including their government), the aggressors meeting no effective civilian opposition. When civilians are not permitted to be armed for their own security, not armed to secure their home and their neighborhood and their business, then they are all victimized by their government aided terrorists.
The point remains clear that the best armed citizenry (being the Swiss) enjoy the lowest rate of firearm violence and crime, as made evident in US regions that support the Second Amendment.

"Jared Lee Loughner, the suspected gunman in Saturday's Arizona shooting, attended a high school that is part of a network in which teachers are trained and provided resources by a liberal group founded by Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers and funded by President Obama..."
I eagerly await the MSMÂ’s strong denunciation of ObamaÂ’s violent-indocrination campaigns.
Own him, Leftists. He's all yours.

Every time the press insists that each event is an indictment of the right, until they have to admit they were wrong. Over and over again. From the census worker they said was killed by government haters to this loon, every single instance is proof of decades of slander, and always they're wrong.

He sounds like freaking Al Gore, how he's not more left leaning than anything else I cannot guess. These days he'd be a hero.

What's more, Loughner had been stalking Giffords for several years before the shooting, because he felt she had disrespected him when they exchanged some words at one of her local meet-and-greets in Tucson. In his diary, Loughner expressed his desire and intent to kill Giffords -- years before the Tea Party even existed.

Was the Kennedy assassination the first time the media falsely blamed conservatives for an act of violence? I remember too, that the entire city of Dallas was demonized as a city of hate after the assassination.
And, the media has NO problem with conspiracy theories, if the theories are promoted by Leftists. And the leftwing conspiracy theorists in JFK's assassination were first out of the gate. I've read alot of the this stuff and I can't think of one conspiracy from the right.

In Europe, the definition of left and right are different from what they are here. Right wing means nationalist, left wing internationalist. Hitler was a big government socialist but also a German nationalist. The name of his party was the National Socialist German Workers Party. What distinguished him from the left was only his nationalism. His view would be closest to Left wing supporters of "buy American" in this country, his tactics like those of the Occupiers or SEIU. He was the very opposite of American Conservatives or Tea Partiers. Actually his views were close to those of Stalin, who was a Communist but also a Russian nationalist, which is why his pact with the USSR which started WW2 was a natural alignment.
