Great now I have the refrain "Blame it on Bush" going through my brain.
O/T to S. Weasel: Was reading your blog some and saw a reference to "History of the World in 100 Objects" haven't heard the BBC show, but I got the book at Costco. While I found the history of some of the objects really interesting, I have to say I don't have your filters for left wing tripe, so I dented my walls quite a few times throwing his book in outrage over some stupid lefty interpretation of historical events.

absolutely...they are the empowered by the 9th ward elite baby...
Mary Landrieu is big sis.....
Blanco and Landrieu plotted to keep Bush from federalizing state assets to facilitate quicker response time...
Blanco's staff leaked the veracity of the interpretation of Blanco's press startegy.
Democrats wanted to keep Bush from gaining stature and were not going to let him "take credit", but by God they made sure he took "blame"...

It wouldn't have any effect, at all. Barky already made a total mess of the gulf oil spill, working intentionally to make the containment and cleanup impossible, not letting anyone do anything so that it got as bad as it could get, extorting money from BP using the Oval Office, stopping offshore drilling without any legal power to do so (getting a contempt cite for doing so) ... and you still can't find ten people on the street who even remember any of it. It was the worst disaster management this nation has ever seen (especially as Barky went out of his way to insure that the disaster was not handled and was allowed to grow and fester) and it had no effect on anything. America just has no memory of anything. Joe Barton made a correct statement about Barky's insane White House extortion but Barton was beaten down by the idiots in the GOP and the "conservative" pundits (yeah ... nothing new, there).

It was not sane to rebuild those areas on sinking ground.
The original French settlers hundreds of years ago figure out where the safe and geologically stable areas were, and managed to do it with a lot of high tech gear, sats, etc.
Think about that. We're fucking stupider than pre-revolutionary war Frenchmen who didn't have a geologist in the lot.

yeah the couple who were ahead of us in the TSA line freaked out because they thought they had chosen the metal detector line (which it did look like) but it made no difference, they were gestured to the body scanner instead. The woman was having a fit because all of their electronics had gone through already and were just sitting there where anyone could grab them and walk away. But, I don't think you can actually steal someone else's shit at security, I suspect they can find you pretty damn quick after that. (unless you are TSA, in which case you can steal to your hearts content)

The airport access and the facility are excellent. We have some semi-nasty TSA agents. I was pulled out of line heading to an international security conference and had my hands tested for explosive residue.
There are full-nude scanners now that everyone has to go through. Beware the evil little TSA bitch (short, buzzcut blonde hair). We are friends with the airport manager, and wish he'd outsource security.

I saw it today at the early showing. Only about 30 people in the theater, but I think the other movie showing had less than a handful.
The movie was pretty good. D'Souza did a decent job though I disagree with his main premise that Barky got his hate of the West from his father - I think he got that from growing up in Indonesia, especially in the aftermath of the Suharto takeover and commie put-down post-coup (which must have really ticked Stanley off). But D'Souza skipped some of the most important parts, namely that Barky spent about all of his formative years (ages 5-10) growing up in Indonesia, was raised a muslim there and that Barky is a stone cold idiot, a retard, a mental midget who can't tie his own shoes. Other than that it was a good movie and I like what D'Souza is trying to say, though he just has the mechanism a bit wrong.
D'Souza also should have highlighted Barky's contention in the dem primary that he would still raise capital gains taxes even if he knew that it would reduce government receipts "because it's a matter of fairness". That position is a key to understanding that Barky is not out to build anything (not even to build a socialist hell-hole) but just to exact some dementd thrid-world idea of revenge against the US for humiliating them with our advancement, freedom, productivity, morality and intelligence.

There's a lot of places in FL that contract to the county Sheriff for LE. They can operate cross jurisdictionally easier, have lower overhead than maintaining multiple personnel offices, vehicle maintenance stations, etc.

I drove through on the way home from SC, I wanted an Arctic Orange Milkshake.
The prevailing sentiment I overheard was, "Barack by his actions acknowledged Ray Nagin and the majority black NOLA citizens were too retarded to be trusted to their own safety and Bush should have reacted accordingly."
A bit over the top, but folks will remember in the booth in those states.
Posted by: sven10077 at August 26, 2012 02:27 PM (LRFds)
With Bobby Jindal the governor now....it is a totally different scenario, than in 2005 with Katrina.
Jindal will try to do everthing right.
Unlike what Blanco did.
Barky has displayed a pattern of turning a blind eye to the disasters that happen in 'red states'.....while being quick to swoop in and act concerned, in 'blue states' or swing states.
Barky has already been doing....repeatedly....the sort of politically-based indifference that Bush was accused of doing.
So if things do turn out badly, for New Orleans again, it will be...ironically...because Jindal will be begging for help, and Barky refuses to give it.
In other words, what Bush was blamed for....but didn't actually do....could happen with Barky, because he has already been doing it.

Barry's mom hated the fact Lolo was enjoying his job and socializing with Americans and Brits, and made the awesome maternal decision to send her son to live with his crazy commie grandparents and be mentored by Frank Marshall Davis. Liked his main thesis that the rabid anti-whoever-is-ruling-us in Kenya, Indonesia, and Hawaii formed him and that he's not the normal pampered liberal lashing out at daddy. He really wants to destroy."
If that isn't scary enough, consider that this guy has about the worst case of NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) that you can imagine, and when those people don't get the adulation they feel they deserve - and instead are rejected outright - they have a fit of what's called "narcissistic rage".
For the first time - ever - you hear about military people and the like re-affirming their allegence to the Constitution, over and above their duty to their commanding officer. I presume that's a good thing. Sounds like the secret service have reservations about him too.

I finally blew my top at dinner the last night, I couldn't shove it down anymore. My sisters looked stunned. Plus they are all concerned that the Republicans will take away Obamacare and also Medicare and Social Security. I couldn't get them to listen to reason on any of it. And the thing that pisses me off most of all is that my sisters are way older than me, over 55 the lot of them, so the Republican plans won't touch them anyway.
And the Akin thing didn't help in the least bit. It just solidified even more the "evil, stupid Republicans" narrative for them.

... Barky spent about all of his formative years (ages 5-10) growing up in Indonesia, ..."
I hope to check it out myself, before too long. One thing in the ads that struck me as inaccurate is that it seems to suggest something about how America "must grow" as some sort of fundamental thing about us, and I didn't think that made any sense.
I was wondering exactly when "Barky" was in Indonesia, after yesterday's excitement about Neil Armstrong. Somebody gave a Obama quote that made it sound like he and his grandfather went down to the shore to watch the splashdown (which I pretty sure would be impossible) and then see the recovery ships come into port (which DID seem possible).
But if Barky was in Indonesia when he was 5-10, he would have been THERE when at least the first few Moon landings occurred, if not all of them. Yeah, I know. We're all SHOCKED that Obama would tell an outright lie about something that doesn't even matter. It's like Hillary having claimed to be named in honor of Sir Edmund, even though he didn't do his historic climb until a few years after she was born.
Anyway, if he watched the first landing at all, he was sitting in Indonesia doing it. I suppose he doesn't want to call attention to that right now.

One of the most chilling lines in that film was when a passage from Dreams From My Father was being read, a passage about the fights Lolo and Stanley had when he started to become pro-Western. She berated Lolo for socializing with oilmen from Texas and Louisiana and Lolo said " But they're your people." Stanley yelled back "THEY ARE NOT MY PEOPLE!"

I caught part of Beck on Friday. He was noting the vast differences between his childhood (spent right here in the good, ol' USA) to teh SCOAMF's foreign upbringing. He said something to the effect that the JEF was essentially a foreigner as a result of never having played little league anything or going to a Fourth of July fireworks show or any of the other wonderful things we were raised with.
It was something I'd been thinking for a while, but was good to hear from someone else. Teh SCOAMF really isn't like us in any way.

Well, Dinesh D'Sousa wasn't raised doing those things either and yet he's an American - he loves and understands the principles this country was founded on and believes in the American dream. That's the beauty of the US - immigrants can come here and become as American as the rest of us, if they love this nation and accept its' ideals. (And they're better Americans than kids who grow up playing Little League and going to fireworks and end up becoming wannabe Billy Ayres sitting in some Occupy camp hating their own country.)
It's the illegals who come here with handouts in mind and the La Raza types who want to transform the US into another failed banana republic that are helping drive a coffin nail into the American Dream.

It is not a matter of "alternative sources" it is a matter of having the political discipline to go to primary sources.
Perhaps a more subtle approach is called for, such as...
"That's your main source of news? Still? How Twentieth Century of you."
"Nobody gets their news from those places any more. Have you seen how many viewers they've been losing? SpongeBob SquarePants has a larger audience."
Or, there's also the tried and true: "Um, that's not true," spoken at the end of every one of their talking points. And since you're standing on the pulse of politics as a part of the Moron Horde, you either know the answer or where to find the facts to back up your assertions.

Yes. Wanting to be an American helps make up missing out on the wonderfullness of growing up here. The Bill Ayers' are the great exception. I wonder, given teh SCOAMF's mom, if he wouldn't have turned out the same way had he lived here anyway. She clearly had a negative influence on him in more ways than one.
And perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I believe that if this administration was to actually enforce our immigration laws, there'd be far fewer illegals here with their hands out. La Raza should be told in no uncertain terms to cease and decist immediately or be prosecuted for insurrection.

NRO on the facts about Ogabecare's impact on medicare...
he is not going to pay doctor's 40% of the cost of care....
I mean do the Bambi backers not grasp the impact?
If the president wants to use the Medicare-savings provisions to extend the life of the Medicare trust fund– and not to fund the new entitlements created by the law — the CBO estimates the fiscal impact would be a “net increase in federal deficits of $260 billion” through 2019.
Medicare actuary Richard Foster has written that the Medicare provisions in the law “cannot be simultaneously used to finance other Federal outlays (such as the coverage expansions under the PPACA) and to extend the [Medicare] trust fund, despite the appearance of this result from the respective accounting conventions.” Even President Obama himself admitted this irrefutable logic in a 2010 interview, when he admitted that “you can’t say that you are saving on Medicare and then spending the money twice.”

Well, Dinesh D'Sousa wasn't raised doing those things either and yet he's an American - he loves and understands the principles this country was founded on and believes in the American dream.
I have to disagree. D'Souza may be an American citizen and he mayembrace the ideals of America - he may even be a much better citizen than many natural born Americans, but he is not culturally "an American". I think he would be the first to admit this. There is something quite different about being raised in a culture - something that cannot be learned. This is why the Founders did put a "natural born citizen" requirement in for the Presidency. It's not a matter that every natural born American is a good citizen or that everyone else cannot be, but that there is just a major difference in the thinking and culture that cannot be bridged (generally) and stand as innate parts of a personality. D'Souza's kids are Americans, culturally, but he just isn't. This is not a value judgement about him but a matter of the culture in which one was raised. You can change ideas but you can't really change culture. It's the difference between innate features and acquired ones.

I noticed by lefty brother resort to personal attacks when discussing national politics. It means they feel threatened, and have no other defense - if they had a counterargument, they'd be using that instead.
You should take that as a HOPEFUL sign, not something to despair over.
Dealing with mental illness in the family is areal challenge. I want to spit at Glenn Close on her commercials where she paints the mentally ill as stereotyped victims. In my experience, people with bipolar ALWAYS cause immense problems for their families, who end up the real victims. My wife's cousin, for example, beat up his wife - put her in the emergency room - right in front of their four kids (one of whom she was holding). The one daughter still has nightmares that her father will show up and try to kill her. They guy spent a month or two in jail because nobody was stupid enough to bail him out, and that was a period where people felt more secure about their physical well-being.
Yeah, "it's the stigma" that's "worse than the disease."

He said by far and away the best charity offering help was Catholic Charities
He said the 9th ward was the worst because they were refusing help. Acorn had organized some kind of 9th Ward preservation committee that was protesting and preventing the demolition of homes that were covered with mold. “If the convention were in San Diego or New York City or Atlanta or any other city, there would likely be a suspension of convention activities due to the impending landfall of the storm,” Justin Sayfie, a former top aide to Jeb Bush told National Journal on Sunday.
“It’s really necessary to suspend the convention, because a natural disaster supersedes pure politics. And it would not send the right message or be perceived well by anyone if some of the most powerful people in the country were focused on politics and not on preparation and response to the potential natural disaster,” Sayfie said.

Everytime he looks down he gets horny, because he can finally see his own feet.

But how can that be? They didn't give the hurricane victims condoms!

But if Barky was in Indonesia when he was 5-10, he would have been THERE when at least the first few Moon landings occurred, if not all of them. Yeah, I know. We're all SHOCKED that Obama would tell an outright lie about something that doesn't even matter. It's like Hillary having claimed to be named in honor of Sir Edmund, even though he didn'tdo his historicclimbuntil a few years after she was born.
Anyway, if he watched the firstlanding at all, he was sitting in Indonesia doing it. I suppose he doesn't want to call attention to that right now.

Barry: destroyer of dogs, was in Indonesia between 1967 through 1971. I doubt he even saw it on TV, while there. Lolo may have been interested, but it would have infuriated Stanley Anne. If he said he was "watching the splashdown" etc, in Hawaii, he is telling porkies.
