2 Colin Powell is absolutely incredulous given the facts.

Over the last four years the President has overseen a policy that makes our world a more dangerous place. He has substituted wise policy for feel-good measures that appeal to his political fancies.

The Middle East is a more dangerous place. Iran is now four years closer to a nuclear weapon. We have governments who were once allies being shunned and others now run by Al Qaeda sympathizers. WeÂ’ve evacuated Iraq and failed to capitalize on all the sacrifices made. Afghanistan is adrift and Mr. Obama has publicly announced a withdrawal date- simply stunning.

His crowning act is the latest disaster in Libya. When he had a chance to act, to lead- Mr. Obama went to sleep. He demurred while four men waited for help and died as the result of his political indifference. This was a despicable act that fully displays how incapable and dangerous his lack of leadership has been.

Yet, Mr. Powell endorse this buffoonery and incompetency as deserving of four more years?

This endorsement nothing more than the lamentations of specious political hack who long ago threw away any reason and honor in favor of politics and favour on the DC cocktail scene.

18 Powell's problem is he has lost all ability to reason without demurring to political foolishness.

He has preconceived outcomes that are based on political outcomes. Therefore he never argues facts or intellectually. He spouts a bunch of nonsense based on platitudes and feelings that have little resemblance to reality.

He is the antithesis of leadership, wisdom and is nothing more than a shadow of the honorable soldier he once was.

58 As I was surfing the TV channels last night I happened upon an Hour long commercial on the wonders of Socialism. On PBS of course just another reason not to fund them.

Here's a paragraph from the shows website.

<<Milwaukee became a big city, with big-city problems to prove it. Political corruption was among the worst. Under Mayor David Rose (“All the Time Rosy”), the city became a center of officially sanctioned vice. That ended in 1910, when Milwaukee became the only major city in America to turn its government over to Socialists. Creative, thrifty, and absolutely incorruptible, they made Milwaukee one of the best-governed communities in the country, particularly under Mayors Daniel Hoan (1916-1940) and Frank Zeidler (1948-1960).>>

Re: the PJ Tattler article about correlating sampling size with relative lead for Romney or Obama

I plotted the numbers, and got an R2 of 0.4283, which for a "social sciences" type of setting is pretty good, incidating a fairly strong correlation.

Haven't read the last half of the article yet, but I suspect the reason larger sampling sizes give better results for Romney has to do with the self-selection involved with smaller polls (i.e. most outfits won't take the time or money to collect a larger sample when 91% of callees are hanging up on them.  With a smaller sample, you can get more "WANT to take a poll" bias from people, for instance, who really, really want to tell a pollster that they're voting for Obama, since this will make its way into a poll which will then eventually make its way into the news as a better poll for the Pres__ent.

It has been reported that she received 500,000 shares, but stupidly sold half before it went public and missed out on the big bucks (something like a tenfold difference in price after it went public).  If that's the case, that's her own damn fault.  Romney's not her financial adviser.

She has gone back to court three times in the past 25 years to try to get more money from this guy, and none of those attempts have been successful. I would be shocked if she got anything more out of this attempt, other than more press for her stupid book and documentary.  If anything, she should be held in contempt of court for violating the gag order with her rants about the case in HuffPo comments.  She's a nut.

Rehashing Allred's Own Divorces...

She profited two ways from her SECOND husband's defrauding the government.

She benefited directly as he sold fraudulent aerospace parts to the US Government. And she benefited directly as her firm was his legal representative during his court case prosecuted by the US Government.

Privately, she re-arranged all their finances, setting him up for the fall and then for divorce, with her taking everything with her, leaving him in prison, and then bankrupted. She refused to abide by the terms she had negotiated in court.

Allred defined the revisionist Women's Liberation Movement into the Feminist. Whereas the ERA wanted equal rights for men and women, the Feminists want MORE rights for FEMINIST women than for men or other women (conservatives).

No involvement with any Afghans unless they are downrange.
ROE? Unrestricted land warfare against all armed or suspected to be armed.

I have to give Romney credit. he found his backbone and has taken the fight to Obama. I very please with how Romney is running his campaign. My one gripe is he's not putting more attention to PA. That state is more winnable than Ohio which has been bought off and is now Marxist. If Romney spent money on Pennsylvania, he would not need the sell out state of Ohio.

The Attorney General’s letter comes after the international group — comprised of 56 members including EU nations and other countries such as Albania, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, the Russian Federation, Slovenia and Turkey — announced they would be sending election observers to sites throughout the United States, including Texas, on Election Day.

Also, the Model tells me there is a 94% of living unicorns being discovered in the next 3.1 years, a 61% chance of peace on earth, and a 59% chance of global plastic surgery turning all women into sharp elbowed cheerleaders.

167 So, good ol' Colin Powell praises Obama saying, "the president got us of one war, started to get us out of a second war and did not get us into any new wars." I guess fuckface Powell has not been keeping up with current events since we were most certainly involved in a military action in Libya that simply can't be ignored, even if not officially a "War." Perhaps the families of Christopher Stevens and others who died in Libya would like to know how their loved ones ended up in Libya if there was no military action there involving the U.S. that toppled Muammar Gaddafi.

Powell has always been this guy who went out of his way to express his concern about the well-being of the troops, which is why he was always so resistant to use U.S. military. Well, Colin, what are your thoughts on more U.S. troops dying in Afghanistan in less than four years under Obama than did in seven years under Bush? Who's fuckin' fault is that?!? Bush?!? Cheney?!? Reagan?!?

Hey, Colin, change your party registration because we don't want your unprincipled stench tainting the rest of us. See, in the Republican Party, we don't simply support someone based on their skin color like you do. It's obvious that's what you're doing since your rationalization for supporting him again is irrational and looks like you're trying to convince yourself without saying the real reason for your endorsement -- skin color. Some of us always knew what an unprincipled, opportunistic hack that you really were. Thanks for confirming it. Now go away.

The direct mail piece from the Fort Bend County Republican Party bears the words “Voter Fraud Alert” in bright red letters above a warning saying “You may NOT get to vote!” It says that 40,000 voter registration cards weren’t delivered last spring and “it is possible that someone else has your card” and “could cast a vote in your name.” The mailer suggests voters cast their ballots on the very first day of early voting.

Rasmussen's daily Presidential tracking poll for Thursday:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 50% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47% (MWR: Gee, that number looks     familiar...).      Two percent (2%) prefers some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided.

These updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. As a result, approximately one-third of the interviews for todayÂ’s update were completed before the end of Monday nightÂ’s presidential debate. Tomorrow morning (Friday) will be the first update based entirely upon interviews conducted after the final debate.

Heading into the first presidential debate, Obama was up two. Heading into the final debate, Romney had a two-point advantage.

...

In the swing state of  New Hampshire, Romney is up two, while the president has the edge in Nevada. In Ohio,  the race is now tied at 48%.

179 http://tinyurl.com/9ukf5pd Barone: Thoughts on the final presidential debate Overall I think we saw a Mitt Romney who expects to be the 45th president and a Barack Obama who has adjusted his initial foreign policy views in the light of reality. The man who promised to close Guantanamo and to make the Muslim world love America has a rather different record to defend, and Romney in effect ratified some of these adjustments. Walter Russell Mead among others have argued that there is more continuity in American foreign policy than is suggested by the arguments in campaign debates, and in different ways both Obama and Romney seemed to be conceding the force of this argument. The Romney we saw in this debate seemed to be thinking more about how he would act as president and less than in some previous statements as how he would campaign against the incumbent. Obama seemed to be grasping at areas where they now seemed to be in agreement. The polling data suggests that Romney is now ahead and is likely to be elected. I think we saw two candidates who were thinking not only about the campaign but also about the transition period which will occur if Romney is elected and Obama is denied a second term.

180 I imagine that all the Dims in Senate and Congressional races are frantically calling bj clinton and begging him not to go nuclear on obama.  If bj comes out and says he has lost faith in obama, then enough disheartened Dims will stay home and razor thin margins will narrow even further.

I think at this point, Bobo is so damn toxic that bj will hit him hard and fast.  I would not be surprised to see Hillary resign as SoS and give him another shove down the slippery slope.  Nobody does revenge like the clintons.  Harking around the world as SoS for a lame duck is not a fun job.

68 - The intended sample size is designed into a survey from the start.  A smaller sample doesn't imply anything about response rates or competence of the sampling or interviewing.  A larger sample does reduce the sampling margin of error ASSUMING that everything else is done properly, but it takes four times the number of interviews to halve the margin of error.

The details one needs to know usually aren't published at all; there are a lot of "minor" things relating to procedure and questionnaire design that make quite a bit of difference.

As for margins of error, be aware that a published "+/-3% means that the spread between the two candidates has a margin of error of +/-6%.  Generally, the published "margin of error" means "one chance in twenty that the truth is outside (our results plus or minus the margin of error)"; there's one chance in three that the truth is outside (our results plus or minus half the margin of error).  That's IF everything has been done properly and IF the margin of error has been calculated correctly (it often isn't, because most of them don't correct (increase) the reported margin of error when a survey has been weighted).

You know what does work?  Geothermal does, I have had it on two houses now and it is great.  It is more expensive than conventional methods, but, the prices are coming way down.  The only time it has slight issues is when it gets super cold--like -10 or so, then I have to use the emergency heat option.  But we get few of those days here in Oklahoma and for the super hot days, it is fabulous.

BTW, anyone know who the most green POTUS actually is.  That would be W.  Their house in Crawford had geothermal, passive heat sinks, they recycle their "gray" water to water the lawn and flower beds by the house.  Most of the lawn is natural Texas Prairie with native wildflowers.

It was a joke riffing off incest and Lousiana, EoJ.  I'm in Eastern MA, myself.  But the west is nice; lots of farm country and scenic drives; Route 2 E-W (also called the Mohawk Trail) is worth seeing.  Stay away from the Berkshires, though; too many Obots.

Veronica Lake?  I don't really know any stories about her, just a few comments.  She was a very insecure woman, never really believing she was talented or attractive; in fact, I read somewhere that she never really recovered mentally after being asked during WW2 to cut her peek-a-boo hairstyle, because it represented a sort of psychic mask for her to hide behind.

She was notorious for being difficult to work with - Alan Ladd, after Sullivan's Travels, refused to co-star in I Married A Witch; "Life's too short to shoot two films with Veronica Lake."

Raymond Chandler hated her, too; during the filming of The Blue Dahlia, he referred to her as "Moronica Lake."

I'll dig through my books and see what I can find for you, EoJ.  Now, I really have to get to work.  See you all tomorrow.

231 216 Watched some of the Allred court hearing on TMZ. Romney and the Staples guy agreed to release Romney's testimony transcripts, but the judge refused to lift the gag order on the ex-wife because Allred didn't file a motion for that. Sounds like she's going to file that motion now. They'll probably post the video later. --- Allred may regret that one shortly. If Breitbart News' investigation is any indication, there's a lot of proof that she's been violating that gag order for years, which is in part how Allred came to know about this case. Given that the judge has already smacked her down for trying to violate due process, he may not be in a mood to lift that order and may, in fact, punish the woman for violating it.

232 202 I really hope Romney goes for PA. I have friends in that state and they tell me its Romney's for the taking. Personally I feel Ohio is a waste of time. They have been bought off and have gone Marxist.

I'm in Ohio, (or "Oiho" or "Iowa" depending on who you talk to), and my sense on the ground here is that Romney wins. Call it a gut feeling. I don't think Ohio has been "bought off". Most of the blue collar employees that have been "bought off" would have already voted for Obama. If Ohio goes Obama, it will largely be because Kasich pissed off a lot of people with Senate Bill 5 (which I supported). It largely got a bad rap in the media, and Kasich did little or nothing to defend it, so he got rolled. Including fire fighters and police officers was probably a bad move strategically (even though there was no reason why they shouldn't have been included). Aside from that mistake, Kasich has the state going in the right direction, so that might benefit Obama a bit.

I'm not worried though. Ohio was something like D+7 in 2008, and many of the polls have it D+7 or more this year, which is just not very likely. I would be shocked if the final results came in much more than D+2 or 3. I wouldn't even be surprised if it were even or R+1.

I've always have had a very positive  and smooth experience with the Harris County, TX (Houston) Clerk's office.

All the burned up voting machines have been replaced (warehouse fire right before the 2010 mid-terms).

18 y.o. daughter's voter registration process was a walk in the park  as was her requested absentee ballot - she's already voted.  After the election we'll change her registered address  online from her mom's house to mine - easy peasy.

Voting machines rationally distributed to polling locations - in 30 years of voting here have never been bottlenecked  in front of too few machines.

It can be done with the right people leading and staffing the office.

Posted by: Velvet Ambition at October 25, 2012 10:28 AM (R8hU

No, cost effective means that from an individual standpoint for home use, the installation pays for itself through differences in utility rates vs cost of installation before the unit reaches end of life.

From a utility standpoint cost effective means that the annual gross generation costs less than other forms of generation and that it is also reliable to the standards required by the State utility commission.

Wind and solar meet NONE of those conditions.  If it was left up to me I would get the government totally out of energy generation except for setting utility rates in a FAIR manner.

Yep, Oklahoma used to have antiquated and corrupt voting practices.  But, we got serious about it and revamped everything.  Now it is smooth, honest, and fair.  Everyone in the state votes on paper ballots fed into the same type of machine.  The machines are randomly sent from secure bonded warehouses to the precincts the night before the election.  Our recount process is completely documented as to what constitutes a valid vote and what does not.  You get one free recount on a close vote, and from then on you pay for every one thereafter.  If you fail to vote in two consecutive major elections, you are removed from the rolls and must re-register.  We passed Voter ID and no one protested it.  This year was our first to use IDs, it felt great.

The judge is a woman (fairly attractive and young), and apparently she wasn't having it from Allred (I tuned in after that part, but I'm sure TMZ will post a video later).  I'm curious to see what happens when she files that motion. I hope the lawyers for staples and the ex-husband (they had separate representation, so Staples was a party to the case/gag order) file a counter motion to have her held in contempt for what she already posted online.  I have a feeling though that hearing won't be held in open court.  I think the only reason this one was held in open court was because the gag order doesn't apply to the Boston Globe, who filed the motion.

292 n particular, the NCTC operates a gigantic data-mining operation, in which all sorts of information about innocent Americans is systematically monitored, stored, and analyzed. This includes "records from law enforcement investigations, health information, employment history, travel and student records" – "literally anything the government collects would be fair game". In other words, the NCTC - now vested with the power to determine the proper "disposition" of terrorist suspects--------------------------

Obama officials very recently abolished safeguards on how this information can be used. Whereas the agency, during the Bush years, was barred from storing non-terrorist-related information about innocent Americans for more than 180 days – a limit which "meant that NCTC was dissuaded from collecting large databases filled with information on innocent Americans" – it is now free to do so. Obama officials eliminated this constraint by authorizing the NCTC "to collect and 'continually assess' information on innocent Americans for up to five years".

And, as usual, this agency engages in these incredibly powerful and invasive processes with virtually no democratic accountability:

Here is a little news. Hugh McColl, who's brother in law was Rep Spratt (D-SC), whom we beat in 2010, who was chairman and CEO of Bank of America, who personally funded the democrat party in Charlotte for years.

What a coincidence, I just heard on the radio a couple of days ago that the feds were filing suit against BoA for their role in the mortgage meltdown.

329 My first vote was for Nixon in '72, you still have to be over 21 then.  Even though the age 21 was unfair to anyone in the service, I still think it was a better cut-off age.  The law should have been written to leave the age at 21, but allow active duty military to vote regardless of their age.  I see the stupid kids around me who do not talk to each other even when they are in the same table in a restaurant or where ever, but, rather text each other and then I think about the rank stupidity of allowing them to vote.  Yes, there are plenty of 18-21 year olds who deserve a vote, but, they are outnumbered 100 to 1.

337 I'm so deeply amused by the Allred stuff. Romney played it perfectly, hey, sure, release the transcript, see if I care. That destroys the he's hiding stuff accusations. Allred failing to file the motion to ungag her client is fascinating because it appears that the motion to unseal the transcript was by the Globe, not by Allred. Which means that Allred is representing her merely as an interested party to that action. Were I the ex-husband, I'd be filing a motion for sanctions this afternoon regarding the ex-wife's manifold violations of the gag order. There's certainly evidence that seems damning that she has violated it.

I think so too, Guy Mohawk.

As long as they keep calling it a 'close race'...there are still a lot of people who are lying to pollsters, for fear of retribution.

Dick Morris has been predicting a blowout for Romney, based on his own private polling.

Reporting on a bipartisan task force report on IllinoisÂ’ grotesquely mismanaged finances: Illinois has the lowest credit rating of the 50 states and has AmericaÂ’s second-biggest public debt per capita, $9,624, including state and local borrowing. Only New York StateÂ’s debt is bigger, at $13,840 per capita. But Illinois has not been able to use much of the borrowed money to keep its roads, bridges and schools in good working order, because years of shoddy fiscal practices have taken a heavy toll, the report said. http://blogs.the-american-interest.com/wrm/2012/10/25/news-from-obamas-home-state/

385 from Purps link.

It doesn't require any conspiracy theorizing to see what's happening here. Indeed, it takes extreme naiveté, or wilful blindness, not to see it.

What has been created here - permanently institutionalized - is a highly secretive executive branch agency that simultaneously engages in two functions: (1) it collects and analyzes massive amounts of surveillance data about all Americans without any judicial review let alone search warrants, and (2) creates and implements a "matrix" that determines the "disposition" of suspects, up to and including execution, without a whiff of due process or oversight. It is simultaneously a surveillance state and a secretive, unaccountable judicial body that analyzes who you are and then decrees what should be done with you, how you should be "disposed" of, beyond the reach of any minimal accountability or transparency

388 Right  now, Obama can only hurt himself more.  He is hte one under the microscope.  Every  day  he  will reveal something new that shows his campaign is in trouble.  This has the feeling of  a  team that won the regular season, but lost its starting QB,  the playbook burned up, and the Defensive Coordinator  just  had an affair with the Offensive Coordinator's wife.  You just know they are going to lose on election day.  That is the Obama campaign.

My  opinion is that most  undecideds  are not independents, they  are  front-runners and simply want to vote for the winner.  This  is  why momentum is so important.  It is why in teh GOP  primary,  one of Mitt's arguments was inevitability.  People like voting for the  winner.   So  using my own logic, Mitt is in good shape.  Now we just need  a  really few good polls to  confirm it for people.  Even if samples are BS and MOE is bad, just give the impression that the race is over.  Momentum should be able to get him an extra percent or two.

I get that. It just truly distresses me that nobody takes a stand for this stuff and anyone who does is somehow kooky.

The state of our society today, and indeed our country is the result of indifference to these types of issues and the complete moral failure of people in leadership positions.

Whether it is economic behavior, personal responsibility or moral issue the current state of this country is the direct result of grotesque indifference to small issues which figure largely in the overall societal scheme.

IMHO that is one of the key issues in this current election. It is about the complexion of our country and existential realities of such destructive behavior.

But there I go being serious again.

483 #476  I agree with you that people (especially young people) are products of their environment.  Obama has been very good at infiltrating the schools and using peer pressure and "coolness" to gain the votes of the naive and misled.

My own daughter has taken me six months of intensive explaining of debt, deficits, spending, and why all excesses in these areas are bad for the nation.  I also have had to inform her about things like Fast and Furious and Benghazi.

However,  I have reclaimed one vote for Romney from Obama's clutches,  so it's been worth it.

"was about the same size" as Romneys Red Rock rally. Of course no
pictures were provided.

Any one found any pictures?

Posted by: RoyalOil

----------->>>

My suspicion is that the SCOAMF's rally was smaller.  The one photo of it I saw was taken from the edge of the crowd pointed outward -- lots of green space behind the crowd and  no  way to gage the size of the crowd.

The  photos  of Romney's rally were taken from the front of the crowd looking backwards.  The amphitheater was a sea of humanity and obviously packed to capacity (10,000 to 20,000).

489 I heard today that while Ohio has been early voting forever, it will take weeks to get results out of there because of provision ballots

If the margin is greater than the number of provisionals, it won't matter.

Huge percentages of provisionals would be tossed due to inability to verify the voter was who they claimed to be.

Provisional ballots get cast because of people not being verified as being on the voting rolls for doing something like showing up at the wrong polling place.  And I don't think they even bother if the margin of victory is larger than the number of provisional ballots cast.

558 Here's another boring PC factoid:

When the 8088 was wired in "maximum" mode (as on the PC and XT), it emitted the current segment register being used on two status pins along with the 20 bit address (that's 1M of addressable space worth).

If those status pins had been used for address generation (i.e. 22 bit address), the 8088 would have been capable of directly addressing 4M of memory, 1M in each of 4 distinct address spaces for each of the 4 segment registers.

AND it would have been physically impossible for stack to overrun data, or code to be executed out of stack or data space.

If those two status bits hadn't been ignored, the whole programming methodology and code quality would have been different...for the better.

What I have been told by a representative of the Romney campaign is that the absentee ballots are counted as they come in.  However, if you cast an absentee ballot and then show up on Nov 6 to vote in person, then you get a provisional ballot.  Each voter is assigned a Voter ID Number so the local boards of election have a pretty good handle on whether an individual voter has requested an absentee ballot.

576 Here's another boring PC factoid:

When the 8088 was wired in "maximum" mode (as on the PC and XT), it emitted the current segment register being used on two status pins along with the 20 bit address (that's 1M of addressable space worth).

If those status pins had been used for address generation (i.e. 22 bit address), the 8088 would have been capable of directly addressing 4M of memory, 1M in each of 4 distinct address spaces for each of the 4 segment registers.

I worked in the Physics Department of a community college and the overwhelming majority  (~90%)  of the physics/engineering students despise Obama with a passion.  The general population of the college is not putting on the overt displays of enthusiasm for Obama like they were in 2008;  no Hopey-Changey t-shirts, no registration drives, nothing.

I just got hired by a firm in  private  industry because the owner is a Republican and he is planning on Obama getting kicked to the curb.

635 So we are now considering marriage a long-term money-for-sex contract? Sheesh.

It's not?  When did that change?

For most of human history, getting married wasn't about True Love (if such a thing exists), but a covenant where the woman has her security and material needs met, and the man gets access to her cooter (including childbearing ability).

Today we look upon practices like arranged marriages as barbaric, but for millenia they were the rule, not the exception.

Even today, factors that make one an attractive prospect remain little changed- ability of a man to provide for his family (has money), a woman with nice milkbags and childbearing hips, etc.

I assume the Globe's position is that they can't ask for a gag order to be removed unless they know legally what the testimony is. I suspect that they will file another motion in court asking for the gag order to be removed. Here's my nearly completely uninformed response: The Globe filed a motion seeking to have the seal lifted on the testimony. The wife would have standing in that matter as a party to the action. The sealing of the testimony is, technically, independent and separate from the gag order. The Globe wouldn't have to ask that the gag order be lifted since the Globe isn't bound by the gag order unless another one is issued after the transcript is released. So the Globe can get the transcript and yammer on about the transcript all it wants without the gag order preventing the parties from talking about it being lifted. You'd have to file a separate motion for that. If Allred was as smart as she thinks, she would have filed a motion to lift and requested that the hearings be consolidated in order the interests of judicial economy. The fact that that judge apparently wouldn't let her make a verbal motion to remove tells me that Allred pissed off the judge.

One of the great ancient Greek philosophers (I've forgotten which) recommended a wife for procreation, a high class whore for special occasions, and a low class whore for when you feel like McDonalds.

654 The libs are crowing about a 5 point Obama lead in Ohio... 5 points. Doesn't that seem like desperation, to crow about that?

Yes, especially since they're cherry picking the polls to tout the questionable one from Time.  Other pollsters have it either tied (Rasmussen) or Obama only +1 (PPP).

655 665 626Michelle Malkin is filleting Donald Trump on twitter. She is very good with a knife. I hate it when she does that. There are plenty of liberals out there for her to carve up. Millions of dumbasses out there don't know that Barky sealed his college records. So I think it's a good thing that Trump called attention to it. --- The Donald served his purpose... distracting everyone from the Allred "surprise", had it panned out. As it happened, though, Romney, Stemberg, and the judge diffused that one by releasing his testimony but keeping the gag order on the former Ms. Stemberg.

658 If Allred was as smart as she thinks, she would have filed a motion to lift and requested that the hearings be consolidated in order the interests of judicial economy. The fact that that judge apparently wouldn't let her make a verbal motion to remove tells me that Allred pissed off the judge. --- There are probably a few things at play here. 1. The wife has clearly violated the gag order multiple times, so the judge doesn't want to accomodate her. 2. Allred is a publicity whore and the judge doesn't appreciate her courtroom being turned into a joke. 3. Allred SEVERELY pissed off the judge yesterday by demanding that the whole thing be open ASAP, hence the smackdown of "we do not suspend due process because of elections."

659 I bet Allred is wishing this court case had occurred in Chicago.

660 Heh! Wife works at DMV. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth when "customer" was informed not only could she not vote at the DMV today, but it was in fact to late to even register. Voting is hard.

661 One other reason that people should seriously consider gutter guards now. West Nile, that nice little third world problem, finally hit my county. I had little ponds of standing water from leaf dams in my gutters. Perfect breeding grounds for the blood suckers. I figure it cost about .70 per running foot of gutter.
