6 When the debt bomb hits people will actually be surprised. The Make Believe Media will report the event as "unexpected", and everyone who is unprepared will be declared a victim.

7 @4 I still hold out hope that he will lose and we'll only be stuck with him as Lt. Governor.

Yeah... I'm not sure Dewhurst is going to win, though.  Luckily, he can be forced into a runoff if he doesn't win 50% of the votes, which means that votes for anyone who isn't him help.

Frankly, the more I study, the more comfortable I am with Leppert, yes, even than with Cruz, though Cruz is neck-and-neck and certainly a strong second for me.

Debt bomb? What debt bomb? Haven't the Republicans been paying attention to the President's latest propaganda? He claims to have inherited a one trillion dollar deficit when he took office. He also claims to have made two trillion dollars in cuts since taking office. In other words, we as a country now have a one trillion dollar SURPLUS.

Comes from the old days of theater.  There wasn't actually a changing room, so there was usually a hedged off (as in: with bushes around it) area where the actors would change clothes.  Thus "I'll be in the green 'room'"

Meh.  Until I see real inflation or crowding out of resources for private consumption I'm not going to bust an artery over this.  As long as we can get the deficit down to a sustainable level we'll be fine.  This will be possible if we kick enough Dems out.

The most critical thing to keep in mind is that deficit reduction MUST be secondary to fixing the economy.  Priority 1 must be jobs, energy policy, industrial policy, deregulation, and any other methods to put Americans back to work.  Indeed, boosting revenue by that means will do a lot to cut the deficit all by itself, and it will also cut the strain on social programs.  If we cut spending before we get the economy running again, the Republican party may as well fold up their tent and retire, because we'll not win another election for 50 years.

25 Tom Coburn did some stuff last year that kinda sold us out.  I have done forgot exactly what it was, but I do remember he lost a lot of luster then.

What amazes me is how many in Congress say the right thing when interviewed... and yet somehow the end product is the same crap we've had for the last 40 years...

Somehow, no matter which party is 'in power', freedom declines, debt grows, and Washington gets more say in our lives....

And that is, IMO because of the shift, where we the people no longer can tell Washington 'NO, you CAN'T do that', with any power behind it....  when the only curb to Federal Power, is another branch of the Federal Government?  Its like one Fox telling the other Fox its your turn to Guard the Hen House... wink wink... nudge nudge...
