— Gabriel Malor Happy Thursday.
President Obama is slipping. The State of the Union brought in 13% lower ratings than the last year and 27% lower than the year before that.
Gov. Brewer and Obama have a tense confrontation at the airport in Phoenix. She didn't just take it quietly.

When are we going to stop these SOBs from regulating the rest of us? When they pass this, and yes they will, what I would like to see is the automakers simply say fine, we will not sell cars in CA. Not only will the new regs call for super clean emissions which are probably impossible to achieve but they also have “greenhouse emission” standards which are a scam.

They did a 5 min (or so) segment on Newt talking about Saul Alinsky and tying him to Obama. They talked for 5 minutes, and like this article, never mentioned that he was a damn communist. They kept calling him a community organizer and “activist” which is the same thing as Obama. And yes, he is a communist too.
And yes, Fox and Drudge appear to be in full anti-Newt mode this past week. I guess they are both in the tank for Mutt.

Why do they keep on making remakes. And this one is totally unnecessary. Hollywood blames piracy for losing money. I blame shitty movies, sequels, and repops. Every Wednesday I go through the list of new Blu-Rays on Amazon. I haven’t purchased a “new” movie in years. I did a pay per view for the new True Grit and the new Thor. Didn’t like the True Grit and the Thor was OK but they kinda shitted up the legend of Loki. After watching them I decided I would never buy the True Grit and Thor would only be a candidate for the WalMart $5 stack.

SC Election official says 950 dead voters accusation from the DMV is not true
What this story does not tell you that she is saying that because she herself supplied false numbers used to oppose the new voter ID law and she is embroiled in that. Obviously she is a Democrat but that is almost impossible to find for these low level officials. She should be fired but that would really create a firestorm.

.
Way back when, we had a sector of the economy that had a diversity of jobs where you could learn while earning and advance through the ranks, even to become an owner of your own company. It was populated by people who were more than able to succeed in college, but preferred to work with their hands. It was not uncommon to make $20/hr. It was killed on purpose by our own government. And we are paying that dear price today.

Lugar is being primaried by the state treasurer, Dick Mourdock (who challenged in the SC regarding the Chrysler bondholders being stiffed, but lost). I don't know who the dem nominee will be, as our primary isn't until May.
It will be an interesting dynamic, though. Indiana went for Obama by 5000 votes in 2008. I am pretty sure he won't win this state, but he will want to try and keep it. I would recommend watching to see what happens when he shows up here.

So far that's seems the path. Obama's last appeal to the Sec. of State was denied by the Secretary, so I guess the Georgia state Court will have the hearing without Obama's rebuttal. The Court will then, I guess, decide the merits w/o Obama's input which puts his team at risk for getting on the Georgia ballot if the petitioners successfully "win" the not-native argument via the interpretation that Obama's father was not an American citizen. Procedurally, the Court and Sec. of State agree that process has been appropriate, something that has stopped challenge in all other instances to date. Now the case gets to be argued on substantive merits possibly without Obama's input.
This should be quite interesting as other states are following Georgia lead.

I saw Michelle Malkin taken to task by Hannity last night for her constant attacks on all GOP candidates. She got all huffy, but Hannity was right. She sees herself as some sort of arbiter of all things perfect in conservatism. I am still PO'd at her attacks on Perry, but she does it to every single candidate, including Newt.
I do think negativity is something we have to watch out for. This morning, I see Politico has decided that the Romney and Newt supporters can be distinguished by their clothing. All Newt supporters look like dog track crowds, while Mitt people tend to be the yacht club. This, of course, is agitprop, designed to fan the flames of the "elitist-grass roots" split within the GOP.
I do support Romney, but will keep your comments in mind. Lord knows I am not a perfect judge of these things, because I thought Perry was the perfect candidate. ( He must have some merit, however, in that Politico also has a piece this morning telling us how all of a sudden Texans hate him and he's in trouble.)
I think sometimes we forget that while we argue about candidates here as if we are at a bar talking, our words are read by quite a few people, including dem operatives who are constantly seeking wedge issues and attack strategies.

It's also why I don't give a crap what the "experts" say anymore. We, as a nation, have been listening to them for years, and look where we are. F' em with the Barbed Cock of Satan.

My uncle on my mother's side (never met him) helped invent the stuff. At the time, it was a miracle food that saved the lives of millions of people in the third world. It was part of the agricultural miracle of the 1950s that increased crop yields so India didn't starve to death. It's made by passing inedible oils over a nickle catalyst, producing something resembling Crisco. It might kill you in the long run but if the choice is partially hydrogenated oils or starvation, most people choose not to starve.Posted by: Ed Anger - Certified Kos Kid at January 26, 2012 04:24 AM (7+pP9)
It's amazing stuff. I have a great recipe for scones that calls for butter. I tried it once with Crisco replacing about half of the butter, and it was significantly better!

>>125 So Drudge is really not a fan of Newt.
As Governor of Michigan original rino heard elder George Romney met with Saul Alinsky and found him to be someone the country “ought to listen to.”
The progressive Republican father of the liberal Republican Willard Romney actually acknowledged that Alinsky had a “Strong influence” on his son according to “Romney’s Way” a 1968 book by T. George Harris. This certainly goes a long way toward explaining how a “conservative” Republican like the younger Romney could not only concoct Romney Care. It sheds light on Willard Romney’s Alinsky-like deviousness in destroying all hard drive evidence that would expose the deliberations that went into Romney care’s completion.
By HarrisÂ’ account George Romney and Saul Alinsky were close enough for Alinsky to offer Romney advice on handling DetroitÂ’s Black population after the Motor City riot of 1967.
It is an established fact that dutiful son Willard is devoted to living his life and governing in a manner his father would approve of. This is why a new TV spot from a Gingrich supporting PAC shows a clip of Willard actually saying he is a progressive. He only switched to saying he is a conservative since he started running for president.
Willard Romney doesn’t just want America to have Obamacare he wants the whole world under its thumb. In a 2007 video shot at a town hall meeting while Willard Romney was campaigning in Iowa. In response to a question about whether he would continue George Bush’s program of funding AIDS assistance programs in Africa, he gave this inexplicable answer, “ .. Did you notice in Lebanon, what Hezbollah did? Lebanon became a democracy some time ago and while their government was getting underway, Hezbollah went into southern Lebanon and provided health clinics to some of the people there, and schools. And they built their support there by having done so. That kind of diplomacy is something that would help America become stronger around the world and help people understand that our interest is an interest towards modernity and goodness and freedom for all people in the world. And so, I want to see America carry out that kind of health diplomacy…”

Well, for starters the word "Reagan" keeps coming out of Newt's mouth all the time, and he's taking credit for practically the entire Reagan Revolution... when the only thing Reagan has to say about him is that his ideas would have devastated our military.
HERE is why is matters: all the people that like to carry on like Newt is Mister True Conservative have a memory lapse about this man's past. Romney's excuse, accept it or not, is that he was saddled with an 85 percent Democrat-controlled state legislature in Massachusetts.
Newt's excuse seems to be that he is willing to say anything, anytime, anywhere, no matter how destructive to Conservatism, the GOP, and the country if he thinks it will give him some sort of temporary political advantage.

The assholes who wrote the flagman test did the same thing, asking if you a "helmet" is part of your required equipment. Since most people don't think of a hard hat as a helmet, they answer no and get the question wrong.
They also used a new powerpoint with an old test. So when they asked how far the safety zone should extend in front of the work area, if you calculated the distance from the presentation you got the wrong answer. I think that was the only question I missed.

Read your piece and agree that Coleman should be fired, but I think his statement was more likely a trial balloon.
If Romney does in fact have people on board running their mouths on lightning rod issues like Obamacare without authorization he is a far worse manager than we have been led to believe by his track record.
The comment seemed out of character for Coleman as well since loud and ballsy aren't the way that he would previously have been described.

His exit polling in South Carolina was abysmal. He won people who make over $200k, people who call themselves liberal, people who have an unfavorable view of the Tea Party, and people who attended graduate school. So his prospects of winning over "Reagan Democrats" don't look good.

Seems to me that the Newt leaners (me) and backers are more than willing to admit he is a flawed candidate. I have not seen the same from Mitt's base. Mostly they rely on insulting us by telling us why we're leaning Newt and spinning a bunch of long tales. The "Newt dumped his wives because they were sick" stories are still being pimped here. If Mitt wins the primary I'll probably have to abandon this place until the general election just to be able to manage to pull the lever for him.
I would like to get back to discussing their platforms in a factual way. The places that provide tabular comparisons of tax plans (I've checked several and they don't seem to be in the tank for anyone) are helpful. Mitt's plan has a surprising lack of detail. Newt's plan truly is the best. Santorum's plan includes things like upping the dependent deductions.
Posted by: Y-not at January 26, 2012 05:45 AM (5H6zj)

From the largely-ignored South, but not carrying the Texan drawl that subconciously invokes W. A woman, so, you know, HISTORIC!
What's she like with a budget?

Good Morning Morons, its Thursday January 26th, 2012. On this day in 1838 Tennessee became the first State in the U.S. to enact prohibition laws. It still has some screwed up liquor laws. For instance the county in which Jack Daniels is made is a dry county. And all say happy birthday to Jerry Sandusky, child molester, he is 68 today.
Links still not working so you have to dothe old cut and paste unless you have FF.
