— Gabriel Malor Happy Thursday.
A masked assassin killed a Yemeni security official during a drive-by at the U.S. embassy in Yemen. The official had been working for the U.S. Embassy for nearly 20 years. Yemeni officials said the killing bore the hallmarks of an Al Qaeda attack, though it was too soon to tell for sure.
The mother of the State Department computer-dude slain in Benghazi blasts President Obama for his "baloney" explanations of the attack. This, of course, comes on the heels of the mother of the slain Navy SEAL asking Romney not to politicize her son's death.
Dear Mom, if I should happen to die in such a way as to make the national news, do not talk to reporters. I mean, that's true all the time -- never talk to reporters -- but all the other kids in heaven are definitely going to make fun of me if my mom is defending me all the time. Oh, and if I happen to go to the other place, I'll send hellhounds after any reporter that bugs my mother. Yeah, hellhounds.
There are new polls out this morning, with some good news for Romney, but I'm not gonna get in Ace and CAC's little donnybrook over that. You'll just have to wait for one of them to get up.
In other news, the diversity officer at a D.C. college for the deaf was suspended yesterday for signing the Maryland marriage referendum petition earlier this year that sent the issue of marriage equality to voters. Lawsuits are likely to ensue.

Romney does well in the debates and more people are starting to discuss him rationally (if one ignores Big Bird).
Obama begins to let the Indonesian Socialist Racist mask slip a little, thus permitting people to observe the vacuity of his non-scripted speeches and his overall incompetence.
These two events make me feel like there is hope.
Then I am watch the hearings yesterday, and see the absolute despicable nature of people in senior positions in government as they evade any responsibility or accountability for their actions which have killed American citizens and endangered many more. I am convinced that none of them will ever spend a day in jail, much less be prosecuted, because the Republican "leadership" (aka Boner and Bitch) will never take a stand and risk any political blowback. I want to weep for my country that we have come to such a pass.

I graduated from SJSU. Towards the end of my time there, a new requirement for graduation had been set up. All students had to take a class in African American, Asian American or Native American Studies.
Somehow, I actually managed to get an appointment with the man who implemented this idea and asked him a few questions about it. Mind you, I was polite but I still asked questions such as "I'm of Scottish ancestry. Are you implying that we didn't contribute anything to this country?" A good conversation, a civil debate and I came out with a large amount of contempt for the "Diversity at all costs!" crowd.

That leads me to be believe that about half the voters are ok with Obama's handling of the Libya attacks. How is that possible? He, and HRC actively withdrew security assets, actively denied requests for security upgrades, and after finding out the attack on 9/11/12 was a pre-planned terrorist operation, lied about it.
Watergate didn't have a body count. The cover-up is always worse than the crime.

At a certain point, a "decision" like the one that resulted in the ambassador's death should have come from someone very high up: Shrillery, Jarret, or Choom Boy himself.
But the prevailing culture within the current regime seems to favor decision-making through inaction. If one doesn't do anything, one is not responsible. I suggest that some low-level functionary yanked security, and the matter ended there. At least 'til Sept. 11, that is.
In short, for the Osama Obama co-conspirators, maintaining safety for Americans overseas is hardly a sexy decision. There is no reward for it and it doesn't raise the adoration level of the deluded masses. Better to concentrate on the Really Important Shit, like sucking up to Muzzies and picking BFFs from rival terrorist groups.

In a way, this debacle -- for which some major heads (including the president's) would have rolled back in the days when Americans expected their government to be pro-America -- shows how the Choom Boy regime has corrupted common sense.
I don't think an ambassador is any more important or powerful to Osama Obama and his posse than the "low-level flunky;" in fact, the ambassador may be several steps lower on the totem pole than the lefty drone sitting at a desk (or using his laptop while at Starbuck's) in D.C.

And oh what an explanation it was. I'm totally with the (magnificent) Trey Gowdy on this. WHO came up with the notion this was about a video? Where did that stem from, where was that idiotic explanation born? Choom? Hillary? Jarrett? It sure seems that it was at the ready, an immediate excuse right on the heels of this national tragedy.
I have since pondered what events and lies we would've been dealing with if this SCOAMF would've been CiC on 9/11/01. One can only imagine the lies, the coverups, the deceipt, the total inaction following that day.....the clusterfuck. It would've been unimaginable.

The IBD/Tipp tracking poll is particularly crazy. With a 2010 turnout, it is Romney +13.
Yeah, that kind of makes me doubt the accuracy of this poll.

Actually, I think it was the most accurate. Rasmussen was #2.
Of course, when they say "accurate" that means their final number. If they got there with a huge sample that doesn't match the actual turnout, then they were just lucky. If the election occurred today and Romney won by 5, they would say "We were most accurate!!", but they would have gotten the turnout numbers completely wrong.

I believe it.
Look, the only people seriously looking at the Libertarian party are either die-hard Libertarians (who weren't going to vote for Romney or Obama either way, and therefore aren't "lost" support), or choomers.
Gary Johnson is not Ross Perot. He's not even Steve Forbes. Many (if not most) Republicans remember that Gary Johnson was a Republican- until he realized he had all the (national) draw of a mud-wrestling match between Rosy O'Donnell and Rosanne Barr.
Then he became a Libertarian, because he wanted to run for President anyway.
He's not going to draw that much Republican support. I think even the Paulians have decided that voting Libertarian this year is kind of nuts.

Greg: yesterday I touched base with some old friends in the George Allen camp. They were VERY positive: one said "we are winning". they could have said (& would have said if we were behind) "we need to do better in ...", but they just jumped right in with "we are winning".
these people have access to internals, so this is good news for George Allen.

(NBC) A week after President Barack ObamaÂ’s lackluster debate performance, Republican challenger Mitt Romney has made some gains in three key swing states among those most likely to vote, according to the latest round of NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls.
Romney and Obama remain in a virtual tie in Virginia and Florida, and the Democratic incumbent maintains a slight advantage in Ohio.
Romney saw his largest gain in Virginia, where he now edges the president 48 percent to 47 percent, a 3-point reversal from last weekÂ’s poll, released the day of the first presidential debate. You're full of shit

See, I'm of two minds about this. The BLS has to know that by reporting the incomplete number, they're adding to the idea that "we've finally turned the corner." On the other hand, being able to point to it and say, "Hey, we're still talking height of the recession UE Claims, and that's with 'one large state' completely missing," has got to carry some weight.

VA essentially the same. Even if I thought the NYT polls were worth a damn, that still is no, to very little, cause for celebration in the Obama camp.

They have a strange attitude about this. When I worked in D.C., the big dust-up at Gallaudet was over their hiring a president who could hear. Protests, sit-ins, etc. So diversity isn't as simple as it sounds. But you probably knew that.

My question is, Why announce?
I looked at the Suffolk Research Center site. From what was available, they don't seem to crank out a high volume of work. I'm speculating that they were merely finished with their assignment, but by announcing it, they were signalling that Barky is finished, too.

A "friend" of mine just posted a picture of Big Bird on FB. The caption read, the entire subsidy of PBS is equal to only six hours of defense spending.
==============
I think you should point out to your retarded friend that In 2011, Sesame Street got $45 million in donations for its programming, $47 million from licensing Sesame Street products, and another $42 million in distribution fees and royalties and therefore needs no subsidy at all.

Galludet has been the battleground for some strange skirmishes. There are some deaf advocates who are strangely invested in being deaf being somehow superior to the people who can hear, to the point of seemingly being against any efforts to cure being deaf. Maybe I've misinterpreted their argument, but if I have it's because they're very confusing.

If I recall the events from the hearing yesterday correctly, it was State that brought the overhead imagery to the hearing and it was State (Kennedy) that assured the committee that everything in their testimony had been cleared and was unclassified.
How Milbank sees that as a GOP screw up is a mystery to me...except for the probability that it's his desperate attempt at misdirection to take the heat off State and President Clusterfuck on the Benghazi screw up.
