— Gabriel Malor Happy Monday.
President Obama is laying low in Virginia for debate prep today, which campaign aids say he's taking very seriously. Meanwhile, both campaigns are peeved with CNN's Candy Crowley, who seems to have an incorrectly expansive view of her role in Tuesday's debate.
The UK's Met Office has released temperature data that shows that there's been a 16 year pause in global warming. the pause in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996.

I challenged a facebook friend on that issue who lives in Massachusetts and posted nearly verbatim that idea you presented. I asked her if it was a bit silly to demagogue on the issue considering he was the governor of her state previously and didn't do anything to restrict abortions at that time. I pointed out that the only "restrictions" he might place on abortion would be to eliminate federal funding of foreign abortions and eliminate the mandate for religious institutions to pay for abortions. Needless to say, she took her post down.

I know requiring voters to pass a civics test is "racist" (for reasons that actually ARE racist), but if you don't understand that Presidents can't outlaw things, they can only sign or veto legislation sent to them by Congress, you really shouldn't be allowed to vote.
OTOH, TFG has set a lot of precedent for "making laws without Congress" so I can understand some of the confuse. *mutter*

why is it that every D president spends to the first term figuring out that America's enemies are evil. not misunderstood, or just like us at heart, or merely guided by self interest. They are evil and must be dealt with accordingly. Every D president has had to learn this. (save Truman)
Meanwhile, every R president (save Reagan) has had to learn that the Democrats on the hill are not patriots, and not trying to do a good job for the country, and they do not have America's best interest at heart.
So. that said, will a president Romney understand this about the D's and treat them like the spoiled, greedy children that they are?

I cannot remember what it was about now, but didn't she kinda/sorta defend Romney on air a few weeks back during one of the faux gaffe things? Yes because for fuckheads like Chris Wallace, Watergate was the worst thing evarrrr because his dumbass father said that. Keep in mind that nobody died at Watergate and it was small potatoes compared to anything Lyndon Johnson did on a daily basis or shoved off to his right hand dicknose Bill Moyers. I don't even think Woodward is stupid enough to think that young people give a flying fuck about Watergate or any of his fellow journo cocksuckers.
Wallace's father also said that Reagan's tax cuts would be terrrrrible which is why his son keeps whining about "the numbers don't add up" on Mitt's tax plan because the stupid cocksucker keeps looking at estimates that use static income activity which is a complete crock. FNS would be better served to have a cardboard image of Tony Snow moderating the show. Another brilliant personnel move by Ailes.

I reject this "town hall" faggotry. All residents can attend town hall meetings. This is an audience of liberals invited by Gallup.
And why are the campaigns worrying about what Candy Crowley might do? Fire her fat ass and hire a new moderator, having him/her sign a contract with a liquidated damages clause that severely penalizes her/him for showing his/her ass.
Also, having a moderator pick the questions stupid. Pool them all, eliminate the repeats, give the campaigns three peremptory strikes, then select the questions by lottery.
Game. On.
But that will never happen. The Dems know that their fat little dumpling Candy will tilt the scales in their favor. Especially if she throws one of her fuckin ham hock arms on it.

Two answers I would love to hear from that-
One he'll never use, "What can I say, George Soros is my hero."
One he should use, "Who hear has eaten at Outback Steakhouse? Who has shopped at Toys-R-Us? Staples? Without Bain Capital those places don't exist today. In fact, there are over a dozen very large, national retail or restaurant companies in which Bain Capital invested. Sometimes we invested in a company and it became necessary to cut jobs, or sell off portions of the company, to save the greater whole. Most of the time, we were able to save the company- which has then gone on to create, in aggregate, well north of 1 million jobs."

In April 1939, the Bishop of Southwark (London) asked Jung if he had any specific views on what was likely to be the next step in religious development. Jung's reply was:
"We do not know whether Hitler is going to found a new Islam. He is already on the way; he is like Mohammed. The emotion in Germany is Islamic; warlike and Islamic. They are all drunk with wild god. That can be the historic future."
Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961, Swiss) stressed the importance of individual rights in a person's relation to the state and society. He saw that the state was treated as "a quasi-animate personality from whom everything is expected" but that this personality was "only camouflage for those individuals who know how to manipulate it", and referred to the state as a form of slavery. He also thought that the state "swallowed up [people's] religious forces", and therefore that the state had "taken the place of God"—making it comparable to a religion in which "state slavery is a form of worship". Jung observed that "stage acts of [the] state" are comparable to religious displays: "Brass bands, flags, banners, parades and monster demonstrations are no different in principle from ecclesiastical processions, cannonades and fire to scare off demons". From Jung's perspective, this replacement of God with the state in a mass society led to the dislocation of the religious drive and resulted in the same fanaticism of the church-states of the Dark Ages—wherein the more the state is 'worshiped', the more freedom and morality are suppressed; this ultimately leaves the individual psychically undeveloped with extreme feelings of marginalization. [end quote]
/...sounds far too familiar for comfort, applicable v. US Government that's departed from its identity as our Constitutional Republic.
Austrian Economists weren't the only ones criticizing the socialist Road to Serfdom. But then, they weren't illustrating how "Islam" manifest in European "Will" long before the Muslim immigration provided cheap labor and social unrest.

Gee whiz, aren't we supposed to be against all of this meanie politics? But I guess it's OK for Obama. And why would you give people the heads up on what's happening?
It's because (a) They know Obama will look bad attacking. As Miss Marple pointed out, he doesn't express the full range of emotions. So they are telling the media, "He's attacking now, it's not because he's spastic." (b) They know that the media will second-guess him so they want to shape the meme early. Obama "did what he had to do" even if he looks horrible doing it.
I saw a funny sidebar on the Candy Crowley article. It had recent poll data, including the WaPo poll. Except for a swing state poll, they were all comfortable Obama leads. And at the bottom was a survey of media "experts" who said 82-18 that they thought Obama would win.
They are going to all go Pauline Kael on us.

Hell, I was 2 or three years old at the time and I sure as fuck don't care about Watergate. Even after knowing what the hell went on I don't care about it. 1. Most of the "undecideds" are really democrats who hid their political affiliation. (Pony tail guy was a UVA assistant prof who wound up as a prof at Princeton, which I would bet cash money was a payoff).
2. If there ARE undecided people they are like the customers I got when I sold furniture, who would take 2 months to select a sofa fabric and then would pick the one on the showroom floor. They are stupid people who enjoy the attention of being "conflicted" and "undecided."
3. I hate the "I am (insert whatever problem you care to use) and pitiful, so what will you do for ME?"
4. The potential for gotcha questions without merit is especially high, particularly for Romney. They have known he would be the nominee for a long time, and have had time to insert their agents into that audience.
5. Because the secret service has to vet these people, it is possible Obama has their names and can get his own questions into the pool.
It needs to be dropped. We are stuck with it for now, however.

If you think those funding cuts will come from the football programs you have your head so far up your ass that even the jaws of life can't extract it.
For the chirrens always worked in the past. It's the chapter right after threatening a decrease in police and firefighters in the Lib Handbook. I thought they didn't want high school football anymore. Head injuries!!11!
And speaking of semi-pro....my son's high school would fit into that category. Byrnes High School here in Duncan, SC. Crowds bigger than college. Pretty amazing.

I thought of pointing out that those were staged town halls where the questions were pre-arranged, but then thought I would just let her be dumbfounded with his stammering tomorrow evening.
Of course SCOAMF will do well at a townhall debate. It is all "can I haz money from the government" questions. Every one of these friggin townhall debates deal with people telling their tale of woe and asking what the government can do to help. Why any Republican would agree to do this is beyond me.
Posted by: Mallamutt, RINO President for Life
First mention I've seen recognizing the hand-picked nature of all of Obama's town hall audiences and questions. Even then one lady mentioned her disappointment in an impressive manner and made all the news casts. I don't think this will be as advantageous for him as is being elsewhere suggested.

In the documentary, "In the Path of a Killer Volcano" (NOVA) about the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Phillipines, it was stated that the ash from the eruption would result in a cooling of the earth's atmosphere for five years.
Now, if you assume that the maximum effect would be at or near the beginning in 1991, then you would observe temperatures rise for five years ending in 1996.
Probably just a coincidence.

Tea Party, Mallamutt. A Tea Party candidate agrees to Townhalls.
Why a Rockefeller Republican would agree, good question.
Perhaps Romney wants to appear concerned for the grassroots that he just burned, breaking Convention Rules denying votes. But that's hardly logical, given that this is not Romney's Townhall, but the President's.
Romney will prove one way or the other to doubters whether he is or is not approachable, as Townhalls are where voters as a group traditionally approach their elected politician. Perhaps whatever Townhalls that Romney's addressed have been campaign stumps in friendly settings. To date, Romney's only access to this "elected PUBLIC servant of the people" occurred some years ago during a single term as Governor. Aside from that, his business and church leadership experience is insulated from public access. So will he perform comfortably?
A lot of stupid people base their voter whether someone "looks" comfortable. Who else has noticed that the Obama Campaign re-shot a happy, confident Obama to cut/paste into their commercial split screen of Barry/Mitt supposedly taken from the first "live domestic" debate? Mulligan Obama.

The governmentÂ’s chief spending watchdogs have already secured nearly 600 convictions and judgments against people and companies accused of misusing stimulus funds and have a whopping 1,900 investigations currently open into possible wrongdoing, officials say.
The wave of scrutiny more than three years after the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was passed by Congress early in the Obama administration means the question of how money was managed early in the program is certain to extend well into the next year as many of the current investigations come to conclusion.

The Obama campaign is just trying to confuse the average independent voter that doesn't pay attention to politics that what they saw in the vp debate was a fluke... i.e. the moderator was a partisan hack that let Biden get away with anything he wanted to do. The Dems have to fight back against the exposure of the MSM as partisan hacks otherwise their built in advantage will fade away...

When your beloved President Barack Retard Obama says Its Just Plain Math, what he is really saying is Like everything else i just fly by the seat of my pants cause i dont really know what math is.
METHODOLOGY – This ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone Oct. 10-13, 2012, among a random national sample of 1,252 adults, including 1,063 registered voters and 923 likely voters, including landline and cell-phone-only respondents. Results have a margin of sampling error of 3.5 points for registered and likely voters alike, including design effect. The survey was produced for ABC News by Langer Research Associates of New York, N.Y., with sampling, data collection and tabulation by Abt-SRBI of New York, N.Y.
Partisan divisions in this survey, Democrats-Republicans-independents, are 33-22-37 percent among the general population, 34-25-36 percent among registered voters and 35-26-33 percent among likely voters. Partisan divisions in the 2008 exit poll were 39-32-29 percent.
