1 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Thursday, October 18, 2012.  On this day in 1767 the Mason-Dixon line was established to mark the boundary between Maryland and Pennsylvania. It has become unofficially the boundary between the North and South, except that Maryland is now more like the North.

2 Issa now threatens subpoena over Obamacare documents.

Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has threatened to subpoena the Department of Health and Human Services if it does not turn over documents by Thursday on a program (Medicare advantage bonus payments) he claims is being used to "buy" the election by hiding the effects of ObamaCare.

Personally I am ready for him to finish some of the other “investigations” he has going on.

5 Corrupt AG Holder is prosecuting more “alleged” leakers than all other AGs combined.  He goes after the “bad” leakers under the espionage act as “spies”.  No word on the WH leakers that try to help Obama.   Remember when “leakers” gave the NYT classified details of our anti-terrorism efforts under Bush?  Yes, they were “whistle blowers”.  Now they are spies under Obama.

6 Where is all that deficit spending money going you ask?  How about the largest single budget item now that we spend on; welfare.  For last year it has totaled out to > $1T dollars.   Remember the Clinton crap; “this will end welfare as we know it”.  No?  Well Congress full of Democrats, RINOs, and a commie President donÂ’t remember that either.  And also note that this does not include the fraudulent SSDI payments either that keep Detroit welfare queens in $80,000 incomes.

7 Deer lady now knows why deer crossing signs are there.  Says she feels incredibly stupid.

Donna said she has been teased by family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Children have shoved printouts of deer crossing signs in her neighborhood and one day, a plastic life-size deer showed up on their front yard.

Well lady, sometimes feelings are accurate.  No word if she was an Obama voter or not. (probably is)

10 Los Angles to give photo IDs to illegals to make it easier for them to get some of that $1T in welfare.  Several years ago I did some research into illegals and welfare.  At that time it was against the law for illegals to get welfare payments of any kind.  I am wondering when did that change.  Must have been one of those “stealth” bills that passed in the first two years of Democrat tyranny.

13 Kindle Daily Deal:

Heart of Ice

When an inquisitive young reporter's body is found, the crime catches the attention of Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce, FBI Special Agent Nicole Hedges, and crime reporter Cassidy Shaw. They know the murderer is calculating and cold-blooded, but they donÂ’t know theyÂ’re already on a first-name basis with the killer.

And one last thing to get the hate and flames flowing.  The list of the top 150 conservative websites that Maet linked to on the ONT.  None of the first 7 are conservative.  The daily beast is the same as LOS and The Hill is a Democrat PR rag.  IÂ’ll link back to the ONT so you can look at it.

O+0.42% - Current RCP Average
O+0.81% - Average using the 2008 turnout model
R+1.94% - Average using the D+3 turnout model
R+4.14% - Average using the 2010 turnout model
R+4.20% - Average using the 2004 turnout model
R+5.88% - Average using the Rasmussen Party ID turnout model

39 I melted some brand new vinyl siding on my on-post housing with my grill once.  Didn't even cross my mind that when the contractors covered the underside of the balcony overhang with the stuff that I probably should have moved my grill.  Piled on the coals and my usual excessive amount of lighter fluid and went inside to do some prep work.  Looked out side a few minutes later and 5 or 6 pieces were hanging down.  Housing wasn't happy.  Neither was I when I had to pay for it.  Stupid place to put vinyl.

40 @29

Exactly.  That entire story was blown apart over a year ago.  Some investigative types made numerous calls to numerous PP locations asking about getting a mammogram and they ALL said they don't do that.  They don't even own the machinery to do so, much less have any technicians to administer.  It makes me so angry listening to these stupid twat celebrities who go around making statements and commercials with their oh-so concerned faces and solemn voices about how these cancer screenings are going to be yanked away if a Republican gets elected.

I think there are others including Henry VII who had much more reason to kill the princes, and the city of York lamented the death of Richard as they considered him a very able administrator.

No problem, Gabe.  I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning.  Nothing gets your day off to a worse start than getting up, showering, dressing and driving in to work and pulling into the parking lot still waiting for the sun to rise.

Hey, Mr Scribbler, where are you in MA?  IÂ’m up in Bradford, near the NH border, so IÂ’m surrounded by Obama / Warren / Tierney signs.  I like it, since I tell my wife it shows us which of our neighbors are morons (the bad kind).

HereÂ’s todayÂ’s story:

Without a smudge of black around his eyes, no mustache and no cane, Chaplin was not instantly recognizable and, during the early days of Hollywood, was able to walk around without anybody noticing him.  So it happened that one day, as he was strolling along, he saw a man standing outside a movie theater looking at the poster for a Douglas Fairbanks movie.

Deciding to check out the competition, Chaplin asked the man, “Do you like him?”

“Like?” the man responded.  “Are you kidding?  HeÂ’s the funniest man I ever saw!”

Chaplin nodded to a poster advertising one of his movies.  “Funnier than him?”

“Chaplin?” the man snorted.  “This Fairbanks character leaves him in the dust.  HeÂ’s like a shot of seltzer water, running and jumping and laughing all the time.  Chaplin just hobbles around like an old lady.  HeÂ’s old news.  If I were him, IÂ’d get out of the business.”

The Little Tramp glared.  “IÂ’m Chaplin.”

“I know you are,” the man laughed.  “IÂ’m Fairbanks.”

Sorry it's so short.  I'll have a longer one tomorrow.  Hope you all have a wonderful day.

I should have been more clear- I meant "free" ones.  Yes, you can find that via phonebook (with calls until you find a clinic that offers them free), or via the Internet, but your local hospital (especially if its a county hospital) will usually have a list so you only have to make one phone call.

89 Relative to nothing, but....

Chalk another one up for the public school system.  My 10th grader took the LSAT yesterday with all other 10th graders.  Prior to the test, the kids were all required to write out this statement that was given to them.  It threw many kids into a tizzy when the statement had to be written out in cursive writing.  He said some kids could barely write and it took them forever to write these couple of sentences in cursive.  The teacher said, you kids should know how to cursive.  That alone made me laugh.  All the years my kid was in grade school, I kept wondering when they were going to teach him cursive (I learned in 2nd grade).  They never did.  I finally taught him myself when he was in 5th grade.  Now, it looks like many kids getting close to graduating don't know how to do this very simple task.

Question for the in the know morons:  Why is Planned Parenthood the ultimate sacred cow for the donks?  It's not like they're the only place performing the ultimate donk sacrament; the godless communicants can get their shit and jizz from Karl Marx elsewhere.  But anytime Planned Parenthood comes under attack they react like patriotic Americans did to 9/11.  When Komen tried to seperate themselves from that ghoulish freak show, the donks dispatched all their usual idiots (including in Cleveland substance abusing and multiple DUI Zack Reed, who took a brief moment off from a.m. happy hours and cooch chasing to make a complete ass out of himself on the local news programs) to get people to shun the apostates until they saw the error of their ways.

Obama declared that he said “that this was an act of terror.” But actually the president spoke in vague terms, usually wrapped in a patriotic fervor. One could presume he was speaking of the incident in Libya, but he did not affirmatively state that the American ambassador died because of an “act of terror.” Some readers may think we are dancing on the head of pin here. The Fact Checker spent nine years as diplomatic correspondent for The Washington Post, and such nuances of phrasing are often very important. A president does not simply utter virtually the same phrase three times in two days about a major international incident without careful thought about the implications of each word"

I've always been under the impression that, in addition to its being the one place where outright murder is encouraged, they do enough "good works" (counseling you to kill your baby, cough, cough) to effectively throw a curtain over their real purpose.  Sort of like disguising the gas chambers as showers.

I'm just waiting for the day scientists identify the "gay gene."  You think the Dems have snookered everybody with their rewriting of slavery?  When they get finished with abortion, they'll have half the country convinced Reagan used to go to downtown DC with a coat hanger to personally rip babies out of the womb.

Oh, lots of reasons. One important one is the checkbox mentality of a lot of Libs - they have their one favored MSM outlet [NPR] and thats covered. Same thing here. They don't really want variety.

Secondly, its their baby [koff]. The whole staff is wall to wall Libs, with associated services like rape crisis and domestic violence counselors, advocates that run interference at the courts, etc.

Thirdly, it used to be a women-only zone. Not so much anymore, but that aspect was "empowering" or whatever.

Fourthly, its the Religious Cons that really sealed the deal when they went big with protesting at PP. Libs need enemies like, I dunno, Barry needs a hobby? A pink slip? something

Well, I, personally, had never bothered to get more than passable at it.  I'm nearly a full generation behind you, BTW, so times do change (I'm not even ON your lawn.  The sidewalk is not your lawn).  But mostly because my 5th grade teacher didn't want to struggle through reading a bunch of poorly written cursive.  By 6th grade, only the most dedicated to cursive were using it.  By 8th we were virtually forbidden from using it on any homework that had to be turned in.

For the record, my parents (in their 60s) never write in cursive, either.  Of course, my dad just uses hen-scratch.  My mom mostly prints.  If she wants something to look nice for some reason, she'll use cursive, and if she needs to be really fast she'll use shorthand.

I then ask them if they realize that PP's founder was a great inspiration and mentor to the Nazi doctors. I then say, do you realize PP kills more blacks every month than the KKK - the other branch of the Democrat Party - did in a decade? The State hospital that I've been working at in Louisiana has a walk-in policy for mammograms. Appointments are first, then whomever is waiting. Easy. Covered by Medicaid and any number of Fed and private programs. Hospital picks up most of the cost for self-pay and gets a little on the backend from Baton Rouge. The ladies won't put up with women walking into the exam room talking on a cell though. Intense yellage.

169 Romney wins in a landslide -- Las Vegas oddsmaker doubles down on prediction

Yes, you read that headline correctly. I am a Las Vegas oddsmaker (and former Libertarian vice presidential candidate) and here's why I am so boldly predicting a Romney landslide.

In November of 2004, only days before the presidential election, I went on CNBC and predicted a Bush victory by 3 points and 30 electoral votes. Every poll at the time showed Kerry in the lead. Bush won by 3 and 35. Newsmax magazine called it the most accurate prediction of 2004.

In October of 2006, I went on Fox News to predict the GOP would get slaughtered in the midterm election and lose Congress. They did.

snip~

IÂ’m predicting a 5 to 7 point popular vote victory. Electorally it wonÂ’t even be that close. Romney will win many states that went to Obama in 2008. IÂ’m predicting Romney victories in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Indiana. I predict a Romney victory by 100 to 120 electoral votes.

I don't have as good a read on that as I do on the presidential race, where I'm quite sure Romney will win.  The Restraining Order has done a good job of convincing union humps that he's one of them and that could spell the difference especially in southern Ohio where the coal miners will be completely against the JEF as they were four years ago.  Also even though I think Mandel's a smart guy, his "people" haven't run what I consider to be a good campaign.  The Restraining Order is worried though because he is carpet bombing my television with ads.

Sherrod Brown's ex-wife took out a restraining order on him when there was some dustup regarding him picking up their children for divorced daddy day.  Breitbart is the only group that reported on this because the rest of the MFM pretends it never happened.  It might be an unfair shot because any delusional skeezer with a chip on her shoulder can do it but fuck that shit when it comes to Brown.  He's one of the biggest hounds in the state; a lib friend of mine told me he banged more strange than any pol since Celeste and his lezzo ex-wife.  Plus his current fatassed wife was one of the most annoying writers at the Plain Dealer with her weepy stories about "teh little people" that anybody with a functioning cortex just laughed about what a fucking tard she was.  Finally Brown always sounds like he has a load of jizz stuck in the back of his throat.

237 Well, if by chance you're considering going to a Catholic Church, don't worry about what you wear. If the dress code was relaxed any more people would show up in their pajamas. Some people still dress nicely, but others look like they stole their clothing from the shopping cart of a homeless woman.

****

My ex-boyfriend is Catholic and I used to attend mass with him. Imagine my surprise when this Baptist-raised gal walked in to see folks in jeans and t-shirts. It's not that I think God cares and it isn't really that I cared, but when he got snotty about how Baptists get dressed to the hilt in order to show off, I set him straight.

We get dressed the best we can afford because it is an occasion. It is because it is an event for which we prepare. It is a show of respect and most will never judge someone if their best is jeans, but my best is not jeans.

He admitted that he had never thought of it that way and the next week, he work a b*azer to mass.

The next Easter, when we arrived at a new church and saw teens in mini-skirts and shorts, we decided that it might not be the best place for us.

I'm just East of Gloucester (and there's only one town East of Gloucester; the rest is ocean). Some people call it "Rockport."

My 88 year-old barber, who has lived here for 60-plus years, tells me this area used to be heavily conservative. Ummmmm, yeah....

That said, I would estimate that Choom Boy will get about 1500 of the 2500 votes that will be cast here, and Rmoney will get the rest. There are still some racists Repubs living here among the lib trust-fund babies.

But at least Rockport is Vermin Supreme's home town! (Even if they do misspell his name in the town directory)

On matters political, I'm in Maynard and am absolutely shocked at the huge number of Romney and Brown signs I'm seeing here and in surrounding towns (even the People's Republic of Acton, for Pete's sake). When driving around on errands, my kids and I have taken to keeping a rolling count of Romney/Brown signs versus Obama/Warren signs. The R/B signs almost invariably outnumber O/W, often peaking at several-fold more until the O/W signs start to begin to catch up (but never over take). Having said that, this is the state that repeatedly elected to the Senate a man who killed a woman, and schemed to have someone else take the fall. Less importantly, he was thrown out of Harvard for cheating. As bad as Warren is, and she's just awful, she can't hold a candle to the "Lion of the Senate". 310 "My wife finally filed for divorce. She did it Monday...my birthday. ...I snapped." Now it's time to snap out of it and get your head back in the game asap. Treat the entire situation with the ultimate in calm and coolness. Think before you speak. Don't discuss when angry or have been seething. I can't stress how important it is to handle this with a clear, calm mind - you'll be thankful you did when it's all over. Don't get dragged into shit-slinging matches no matter how tempting. You are up against an alien species bleeds for 17% of their lifetime and continues to thrive by simply shoving paper up their traps. Remember this. They pro-create for the express intent of producing others of their species, using human sperm as a key ingredient. Choose wisely where you leave your seeds. They've been know to come back and gather them later when possible. Do NOT leave them this option. You know what to do. And lastly, you know why divorce is so expensive? Because it's worth every f'in penny. You'll come to see it this way, and your sword will once again be shined. May da vorce be with you.

Hey, Joffen, welcome to the party, pal!

I forget what date my first wife filed for divorce, but I remember I got served with the papers.  This sheriff's deputy knocked on my door and I asked him what he had for me

"Divorce  papers.  Sorry, buddy."

"Outstanding.  It's my birthday, you know."

"HAHAHA!  Hey, sorry, but that's pretty fucked up, man."

Seriously, you'll laugh at the sheer fuckyouishness of the whole thing a few years from now.  Relax, Joffen.  There's no more alternative outcomes to consider.  Now you can start getting used to the idea that you're not going to  be married anymore, and it gets a LOT easier from that point on.

Hang in there, bud.

So it seems the jobless numbers missing last week were from California, in "applications that were delayed" or somesuch hokum.

That's what happens when your    gas stations keep running out of gas.   The guy who delivers the greenbars to the employment office gets stuck in line at the pump and doesn't get to his destination till after the numbers have been published.

I don't know why I assume they use greenbars in California.  It just seems to fit somehow.   Probably all the douchey hipsters.

Crafted by our top men. Top. Men. I worked there for several years and got lost or angrily diverted almost every day. A DoJ agent got me to follow him in a "short cut" after lunch one day and I got stopped by State cops as a possible terrorist because the jerk led me into a one way no go area. I was suddenly in my little truck right fucking next to the Pentagon. The agent took off and left me there to explain. The Brown and Warren signs seem to be about equal in number in my part of the state.  Two recent observations, though, along a route I drive frequently:

1) Nearly every single house with a Brown sign also displays an American flag.  Not so much for the Warren households.

2) The morning after the 2nd debate, I noticed that one of the Brown houses had added a Romney-Ryan sign to their yard.

Make of these what you will.

341 It is with great caution that I disagree with Vic.  I believe that gas prices are directly related to the epa and have very little to do with the value of the dollar. Proof? Gasoline in Mexico is 1.50 a gallon.  George Bush was able to cut gasoline prices from 3.75 a gallon to 1.50 in less than 4 months. How? Executive order eliminating all epa mandates on gasoline blends after hurricanes Ike and Gustav. I wish someone could goggle this and prove my theory wrong. It is almost against everything I believe in to disagree with Vic.

This. Buster Keaton has always been funnier than Chaplin. I had a crush on him when I was a kid, until I moved on to more modern men, like Stan Laurel.

OK, some recommendations - for Keaton, I think nothing's funnier than The General.  But also check out The Best Keaton / Arbuckle Collection for some early BK (both available on Amazon).  On YouTube, call up The Railrodder, Keaton's last short; he plays The Great Stone Face traveling on a railroad inspection car all the way across Canada.  No dialogue, natch.

I'm not a big Laurel & Hardy fan, but check out the 2 volume Stan Laurel Collection from Kino International for his early pre-Ollie work (also on Amazon).

(Note: I despise Komen, too) The CEO of JCPenney fired the marketing guy that thought Ellen would be a good fit as spokesperson for the company. Marketing disaster. We've been working with all of our employees to try to bring a very high level of customer service to all our stores. they are supposed to be empowered to do almost anything to take care of the customer. I haven't seen any move to self-checkouts in any stores in the DC/Philly region. unless they're test-marketing them somewhere else in the country, I don't know. The whole new mindset is that every customer should be getting personal attention with every visit. Self-checkout negates that. Just my .02 .
